This is my favorite diner in the area. Family owned for over fifty years with the family running it on a daily basis. This diner is small and cozy, you self seat, and it's cash only. Very old school which I love. They make these great sandwiches and real homemade soups that always hits the spot. Very affordable also. Every time I come in I wanna try something new and it's never a disappointment. The owner John is very friendly to all of his customers even being behind the grill constantly. Alright, the overall rating of this place is 4 1/2 stars. Let me tell you about averages. If there is only a handful of reviews to to get your average from, a low score really hurts. Some goon gave this spot 3 stars after he raved about the grilled cheese being right on and the burger being good. He also went on to say the chili was definitely home made and fresh. So why the deduction of 2 stars you ass hat? Another broad gave The Greek's a 1 because it was closed on a sunday morning and didn't have hours posted. Well, I got news for you toots, if the hours were posted you would have seen that they were STILL CLOSED!!! Also, she was a Yelper. The hours are posted on Yelp. What a bitch. So anyway, the eggs were cooked to perfection. The bacon was thick and awesome. If you've read any of my other Yelps you noticed that I like thick meat. Mmmmm. The home fries are an issue for me but only because they are of another world. I find it hard to believe that these amazing bastards are from earth. And oh my god, when you get the eggs over easy and the yolk runs and mashes with the home fries it forms a taste explosion not seen since the first person mixed ketchup and barbecue sauce. This place is friggin' fantastic. Their coffee is hella good too. Definitely better then the cup of mud I'm about to make here. Also, the glass of coke I ordered was perfectly iced and refreshing. The decor of the place came into question in other reviews. Let me tell you about it. There are tables and chairs for you to sit at while you eat. I guess that dildo wanted to look at the Mona Lisa while he ate. Go to France ya weirdo. Another complaint was that they only take cash. Instead of being a dick about this point and deducting a star, I will put a nice note here for Yelpers reading my review. Get some cash before you come. And besides, If you're going to a small mom and pop type spot shouldn't you expect that they'd only take cash. Some people just like to complain. There is a deli on the corner and 2 different banks 4 blocks away. So anyway, awesome food, awesome coffee, awesomer people and a hella good way to start the day. 1 negative here and definitely not star deduction worthy like some other assholes would, you have to pay the meter. If you don't know about The Greeks then you truly didn't grow up in the area. This has been a staple in the area for as long as I can remember. I cannot tell you how many times I've been here after a hangover to eat some delicious greasy food. As pervious reviews have said the home fries are hands down some of the best in the area. The owner and staff always make everyone feel like a part of the family but that doesn't mean they don't have some sass to them but for me it makes the experience of dining in a "mom & pop" establishment enjoyable. The portions are big here so you always leave feeling full. I highly suggest the Greek fries which are fantastic. If you're in the area and don't feel like going to the major diners in the area come here, have a great cup of coffee, eat some Greek fries and be happy that you took my advice to eat here. read more
