I do not throw my 5 stars around just anywhere, they must be earned on many levels The Green Enchilada earns them all. they have a great menu and selection foods drinks and deserts, the service is absolutely excellent, they will tell you all the options of the dish you are choosing and you can see the chef prepare your meal as you wait, and you will not wait long, even when it is packed with customers the food will reach your table is if you were the only person there. I have met the owner twice and talked about how I love coming to the green enchilada and how the food is organic, and it is very refreshing to know it is owned by people who actually truly care about the quality of the food they are serving to the people, all at regular Mexican foods place prices. A Rip-off for bland food. Organic is great, but only when you can back that with decent flavor. I ordered a steak burrito, only to find that the meat was tough, leathery, and lacked any semblance of flavor. Is cardboard organic?...they could've switched for all I knew. It seemed to me that the meat had been pre-cooked several times before it made its way into my burrito. Like another reviewer mentioned, both my gf and I had bean juice comprising 30% of the burrito... a sloppy mess that got all over the place. This place used to be great. Excellent Mexican food made from really good ingredients. The staff were friendly, and it had a good vibe. I think there must have been a change in management. The menu board is covered in yellowing tape - masking items no longer on the menu. The carnitas/pork burrito was full of gristle and fat and the super veggie burrito was almost indelible. And that's hard to do with veggies. The staff also seem to be at war with each other. Great place, the food is really fresh and you can taste it. I'm a fan of the enchiladas, the quesadillas and they have fantastic fish tacos. My only complaint is that sometimes when the place is packed they seem to forget to provide a complimentary bag of chips and salsa with large orders, and once my green enchilada barely had any green enchilada sauce. I have to say I am severely disappointed! I ordered nachos specifically with grilled chicken and extra cheese (my yummy go to) - which I paid for. I talked to the guy and told him how to make them AMAZING. He said it's a 'hit or miss with the cook but I will make sure they are just they way you want them'. I was delighted as I LOVE TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES. I give them a 1 because there was NO chicken, the cheese was NOT melted (see photo), and it was smothered in guacamole and tomatoes (I never asked for extra) oh and no sour cream which it said it came with. & to top it off Yelp says there open til 10 and I went back and they are closed. Hmmmmm thanks! If you are the owner and reading this 1 I hope you make this right & 2 being in the service industry I will never recommend this place. Was charged for food I did not get AND waited 45 min when I was told 25 min. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I'm such a person to help promote and watch people and businesses grow but this place...forget it. Went for a quick bite to eat at the same time as trying to eat healthy. Had a fajita burrito with carnitas with a Pacifico. I've had my share of carnitas at different places in the Bay, but this style of carnitas was different and more tasty. I was forced to try the steak taco even though I told the girl at the register that I only wanted a chicken and fish taco. Yum! I love this place if I want some yummy mexican food... Its really different from other mexican restaurants tho so I have to be in the mood for it. I asked the lady taking orders kindly where my food was, and I was told it would be right up. After a total of 23 minutes of waiting for my food, I got it. It looked pretty good, I was ready to dig in and move past the wait time... UGH! To my dismay the first bite was cold... I took a other bite, thinking I was mistaken and it was even colder than before ... UGH! I was very disappointed. I told the lady at the counter, requesting my meal to be warm, and she seemed quite annoyed by my request, but she agreed to warming it. It was put in a microwave, and I waited, and waited, and after 10 more minutes decided I'd ask for a refund, which I was given. Came here the other day and got the taco salad as usual. It was great and I have to give them credit for having the best Mexican food in Pacifica imo. They still struggle a bit with customer service and getting the food out kinda slow, but that bowl was perfect and the shell is delicious! I didn't used to get it with black beans, but they really taste so much better than pinto or retried. The food has a good amount of flavor and isn't too salty, so although it's not authentic, aka greasy, I'm a fan and was perhaps a bit harsh in my first review. read more

This is my top pick for a quick dinner in pacifica. We probably end up here at least once a week. I really like the "fajita burritto" in both chicken and beef. The good - It's typically quick, it's reasonably priced, it's organic, and free chips The not so good - We have shown up there a few times when they should be open, and they have been closed (we're talking like 8:00). As well, calling ahead has never gotten me anywhere. I usually call ahead, someone writes down the order, and then enters it when I get there. So, not quicker, and completely redundant. I'm a shrimp fan and the shrimp burrito is very tasty and big enough for two meals. Tonight I had the shrimp quesadilla - very tasty. Liked it a lot. A definite keeper. However, the rotisserie chicken was very blah (I didn't try it but my wife and daughter-in-law did and were equally disappointed.) That's something I'm NOT going to cough up 12 sponds for again. I've lived in the yay all my life, and have been to many taquerias in my day. With that said, this is one of the best. Everything is organic and there are a lot of choices for my pescatarian child. My fave are the crispy tacos, with either camarones or al pastor. They put the beans in the taco, so it's like one huge nacho.
