Came here for Happy Hour, which meant discounted appetizers! Also chowed down on some mains. And it was so delicious, even got dessert. Leche de Tiger: I love Peruvian ceviches. Much more flavor than merely lime as the sauce. Also, good variety different seafood like clams, mussels, calamari and fish. Plus corn bits and some sweet potato. Really jam packed with deliciousness. Chicharron de Pollo: Thin and crispy, it seemed like there was skin attached to the deep fried chicken, giving it an extra crunchy. Nice creamy sauce. And the pickled onions added a good tang. Lomo Saltado: One of my favorite dishes, so had to order it here. The flavors were on point with a generous amount of that sauce. The equally balanced forkfuls with steak, onion, tomatoes and fries were divine. Unfortunately, they were a bit skimpy on the beef since the balanced forkfuls ended quickly and then there were a lot of fry heavy bites. It looked meaty when it first arrived, but I think the trick is that all the meat was on top, nothing mixed in. Aji de Gallina: Shredded chicken in a light yellow sauce. Though it tasted little bland. Like not creamy enough and not spicy enough. It was still decent, but could have been better. Picarones: Maybe the best thing I ordered. Had an early dinner here with 3 other people and everyone was pretty much happy with what they ordered. I ordered the birria tacos and they were good, but I felt they needed something to cut the richness. The order came with three tacos and a small cup of what seemed like more of the filling instead of just consommé. It would've been great to have a small garnish of pickled vegetables or lettuce or *something* to balance the dish. Even if it came with an actual consommé it would've been better, but, honestly, the accompanying cup was filled with what seemed like more of the filling, meat and all! And the small cup was so small that it would've been impossible to dip the tacos in it. As it was, I didn't need to put any more meat in the tacos as they were generously filled. Regardless, next time I'll try something else again! This was my second visit and I didn't find the waitress as friendly as the last time. My friend and I stopped in to get lunch after going to Ocean Beach for the no Kings day. It was a beautiful day, but we were starving. We sat outside and they were very accommodating to let us sit in an area that had a little bit of shade since it was a rather warm day. The staff was friendly, but a little overwhelmed because there were so many people. It took a while to get seated, but that's OK. My friend and I both ordered the fish burritos and my other friend ordered the Chilaquiles. I forgot to take pictures of the food because we were so hungry that when I got there, we immediately started to eat. Everything was very very delicious. The burritos were very large and I took half home for my dinner. We also ordered drinks my friend and I split a half a pitcher of sangria and my other friend ordered a coconut margarita. Outdoor seating is also available in their parklet, but be forewarned.. it gets pretty cool and windy out here most days, as the beach and Pacific Ocean is just five short-sided blocks away. We came here for dinner on what we thought would be a balmy evening that quickly turned cold due to the winds picking up. I definitely recommend dining indoors in the evenings here as there aren't any heat lamps outside. The menu offers a fairly comprehensive selection of appetizers, salads, ceviches, mains and sides that covers all the bases and then some.. You'll even find a burger on this menu..We ordered: Arroz Con Mariscos (similar to a Seafood Paella) : Tons of mussels, clams, shrimp, small scallops and chunks of fish, along with green peas and peppers served over moist seasoned rice. Pretty good (8.5/10). Not spicy at all. Tallarines Al Pisco ( Seafood Linguine) Yup, lots of mussels & clams and bits of fish served with gently toasted bread. After a 5 mile run along the great highway, this was the perfect post-workout meal. I arrived around 5pm on a Saturday, before the dinner rush. A musician was setting up, seems like it could turn into a party later. I ordered a super burrito, which caught my eye from the menu on the outside window. I also asked the waitress for a small bite recommendation and she guided me to an Empanada de pollo. I liked how it was cut into bite sizes, great for sharing. The flavor was amazing and the sauce was incredible! I enjoyed the complimentary house chips and salsa as well, while I waited for my burrito. We had a great dining experience here. We got a ceviche classico which was nicely marinated in lime juice and came with a side of tortilla chips. The fish is cut into bigger chunks than what I'm used to. While I would prefer smaller cuts, my husband was a fan of the larger chunks. We also shared a lomo saltado and an arroz con marisco. The beef strips were perfectly marinated and super tender. We only wish there was more of it that came on the plate. The arroz was a bit on the salty side but otherwise, well seasoned and nicely balanced with the assortment of seafood that came incorporated. It was a size that was enough for us to share for dinner and still have 1 leftover serving size for lunch the next day. All the dishes were good in their own way. The only thing we didn't really like was their red sangria - it was a bit too light and sweet. My friends & I had wonderful visits of the Japanese Tea Garden, Botanical Garden and the Queen of Wilhelmina Garden in the Golden Gate Park on Wednesday. The weather contributed for becoming tourists in San Francisco. Later I told my friends to try Mixto on Judah for early dinner. It's a casual restaurant offering a menu of Peruvian eats with a mix of other Latin food. So I called the restaurant for reservation for 5 people at 5 pm. We found parking on the street. When we arrived, we were the first customers. My first time at the restaurant was in 2024 and just repeated yesterday. The dining room was clean but not the washroom. The garbage can was full of paper towels from lunchtime. Hope they can improve the toilet. They played Latin music and the wall decor was colorful. For starters we had Empanada de Pollo and Yuca Frita. We did not have any drinks but cold water as we were wining in the park before dinner. The three of us ordered the Fish Tacos, the others got Pupusas & Adobo Sliders. The empanada taste had a kick but not overwhelming. I was happy that my friends enjoyed the food. Some portions were big so we had boxed them to go. The server was nice. I gave 4 stars just because of the toilet. However, it was nice to support a small business like Mixto Latin Cuisine. Deeeelicious fish-everything at Mixto! We tried both the fish sandwich and fish tacos and the fish was fantastic, perfectly tender inside with a nice crispyness on the outside. I loved the sauce-heavy tacos if I had to pick one to order again! Would have loved to try more of the menu including ceviche, lomo saltado, etc. so will have to return! Menu is quite extensive with creative combos such as a lomo saltado omelette on the brunch menu. Good vibes and latin music. We had an early reservation for dinner last Saturday night. We figured arriving early should make parking easier to handle, but we were circling for about 10 minutes before finding a place. Same with our friends in their car who met us for dinner. When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied, and our table had a Reserved sign on it. One downside, we were very near the door, and we never really warmed up all evening. Next time, we'll request a table away from the door! Those were the negatives. Everything else was wonderful! We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Lighting was low, and felt very comfortable. For the four of us, we ordered: * Plantain Chips (I think they were complimentary, along with a spicy dipping sauce) -- excellent, crispy, a great way to keep us occupied while ordering * Calamari Frito -- excellent! Crispy, and two great dipping sauces. * Tostada de Quinoa -- not sure if this is what we ordered, but it was very good. We split it into quarters. For the main course, there were two orders of the amazing Salmon Risotto (one for me, one for our friend). This was a thick piece of salmon, perfectly grilled and still hot, sitting on a cylinder of crispy risotto. The risotto was also perfect, just enough crispiness on the outside, and cheesy warmth on the inside. Inbetween, a layer of sauteed spinach, and a great salsa. One of the best salmon dishes I've ever had. My wife ordered the Pescado Sudan, halibut poached in Peruvian Salsa Tigre, and served over spinach and yuca frita. I got to taste some at dinner, and more the next night as leftovers. Excellent flavors, just enough spice. The final dish was the Costillos De Cordero, Australian lamb chops. Presentation was beautiful (see photo) and she was very excited by this dish. For dessert we ordered the Picarones, three warm Peruvian donuts with a cinnamon syrup. We were expecting the donuts to be small, but they were huge. The plate was steaming, and the best part was cutting a piece and dipping it into the sauce on the plate. The texture was a little chewy, but delicious. And we had to have chocolate, so we ordered the flourless chocolate cake. Exactly what we were hoping for, with a small dollop of whipped cream on top. Possibly if they were bigger pieces, it would have tasted juicier. Though it was seasoned well. The portion of chicken was a bit small in comparison to the 2 large donuts. I had the mixto ceviche as appetizer and then moved on with the marescada. I'm a big fan of ceviche, and the one I got was a very interesting and delicate mix. Carefull...it's spicy (at least for me). So if you don't like spicy food, not for you. But if you do....well, highly recommended! Y'know, if you put pretty much anything on toasted Dutch Crunch, I'll eat it. I was taking the N-Judah out to Ocean Beach and noticed this Peruvian spot had replaced Mr. Dragon which had pretty good wonton soup. However, Latin food works for me, too. They were getting ready to close by the time I arrived, and sadly for them, it was as still as a tomb. They serve brunch until 3PM, and it's a pretty extensive menu. The lomo saltado is a really good portion size. You get so much meat and fries. I just wish they'd give a bit more rice so there would be a good ratio of rice to sauce and meat. Seeing it is rated 5 stars, I wanted to come here. In the reviews, everyone seemed pleased with their experience. This Latin Peruvian infusion was exactly what our taste buds needed! They have a passion for blending delicious food with extensive knowledge to create authentic and classic dishes for our enjoyment. Mixto uses the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients and promises to give your taste buds something to be excited about. Inside Mixto, the warm colors on the wall complimented the tables and chairs. There is a small bar that offers special mixed drinks, wine, Sangria, and beer on tap. Brunch, lunch, and dinner are available every day (they also have a kids' menu). As we walked in, we were greeted with smiles by Mauricio(the owner). He told us we could sit wherever we wanted. We were given menus, water (we were only thirsty for water), and given some time to look over the menu. We ended up ordering chips & salsa, Birrira tacos, an Empanada de Pollo, and the Chicharon de Pollo for appetizers. For dinner, since we ordered so many appetizers, we ordered Branzino to share. The Birrira Tacos appetizer comes with 3 tacos. The beef was slow cooked with chilies and spices, served with melted cheese, and consummé. The spices in it were different than your normal Birrira Tacos... but in a very good way! The Chicharon de Pollo is crispy fried chicken with a kick to it, served with a five-spice mayo. The five-spice was strong, but it was so delicious we almost couldn't get enough! The Empanada de Pollo has pulled chicken stew in aji amarillo cream sauce salsa criolla and is served with aji verde aioli.. this was so good... we also dipped the empanada in the consummé! For dinner, when our Branzino arrived... it was breathtaking! Our whole Branzino was fried and stuffed with veggies. It was dressed with scallops, clams, and shrimp severed with rice and a delicious sauce (I can't remember the name of). Branzino fish is a prized delicacy with a fascinating history and shows remarkable culinary qualities. Excellent service during the scorching heatwave - they kept us in very good water supply! The food was very tasty. The fish taco was hot out of the kitchen and really tasty. Mostly indoor seating though one or two tables outside. read more

Our first time here and I love this place! Our server was nice and gave us the perfect amount of space between "how's everything's". We got the mule and the peach Bellini, both were yummy. My daughter chose this place for her birthday dinner. Wasn't looking forward to this since it was part Peruvian and I didn't like the last place we dined which was Peruvian and Japanese. Looking over the menu I thought it would be wise to order our own dishes instead of family style since we were a party of six. So we ordered the following: Arroz con Mariscos Pasta with Mussels Mariscada Fish Tacos Lomo Saldato Calamari Birria Tacos Tiradito Salmon Sangria My Arroz con Mariscos was delish, tasted like paella with mussels and shrimp. I tasted everyone's dish and it was pretty good including the Lomo Saltado! The portions were very generous, we all had leftovers to go. Actually we ordered too much appetizers hence, we couldn't finish our main course. I will surely return to try other dishes on their menu. It was a fusion of Peruvian and Mexican. Very good food. Went here on mother's day since they had outdoor seating for party of 2. There was only 1 other group outside besides us, and inside the restaurant looked about half empty so we were excited not having to wait long. First thing we did was oder drinks (coffee and a bellini). Coffee arrived fast, bellini of course takes time. No problem. We were quick to order our food, chilaquiles with a side of platanos and gallino hash with a side of toast. Both of our sides came within 5 minutes, the toast with ice cold pats of butter (which I stuck under my platanos to help soften). Still no bellini so I enquired to the food runner and he said he would look into it. After we essentially finished our sides, our entrees came. The chilaquiles was visually nice, but the "hash" looked soupy. It was essentially a ton of strips of peppers, onions and chicken over about 10 little cubes of burnt looking potatoes we both tasted it, and the flavor was pretty bad. Thankfully the bellini finally arrived to wash that flavor out. I definitely do not reccomend their breakfast items. Maybe their dinner entrees are better, since those have good reviews on yelp. But most likely not coming back to try. read more
