The food is legit! Everything was so tasty, my favorites were the seafood rice and grilled octopus. Can't wait to go again.

My friend and I stopped in to get lunch after going to Ocean Beach for the no Kings day. It was a beautiful day, but we were starving. We sat outside and they were very accommodating to let us sit in an area that had a little bit of shade since it was a rather warm day. The staff was friendly, but a little overwhelmed because there were so many people. It took a while to get seated, but that's OK. My friend and I both ordered the fish burritos and my other friend ordered the Chilaquiles. I forgot to take pictures of the food because we were so hungry that when I got there, we immediately started to eat. Everything was very very delicious. The burritos were very large and I took half home for my dinner. We also ordered drinks my friend and I split a half a pitcher of sangria and my other friend ordered a coconut margarita. The sangria was tasty with lots of apples . My other friend enjoyed the coconut margarita and said it was very tasty.

Great friendly service, decent Latin fare. Relaxed unpretentious neighborhood vibe. Out on the Avenues (as folks in the Sunset District call their home) out between 44th and 45th on Judah is Mixto Latin Cuisine. Inside the doors you'll find a dark, yet roomy interior lined with thick wood tables along the walls, with a big bar area in the middle. Outdoor seating is also available in their parklet, but be forewarned.. it gets pretty cool and windy out here most days, as the beach and Pacific Ocean is just five short-sided blocks away. We came here for dinner on what we thought would be a balmy evening that quickly turned cold due to the winds picking up. I definitely recommend dining indoors in the evenings here as there aren't any heat lamps outside. The menu offers a fairly comprehensive selection of appetizers, salads, ceviches, mains and sides that covers all the bases and then some.. You'll even find a burger on this menu..We ordered: Arroz Con Mariscos (similar to a Seafood Paella) : Tons of mussels, clams, shrimp, small scallops and chunks of fish, along with green peas and peppers served over moist seasoned rice. Pretty good (8.5/10). Not spicy at all. Tallarines Al Pisco ( Seafood Linguine) Yup, lots of mussels & clams and bits of fish served with gently toasted bread. The sauce was more watery instead of a slightly creamier texture than I was hoping for. Platano Frito (Fried Plantains): nice crunchy outer skin, insides a bit firmer than I expected. (8.3 /10) Verdict: Great service, food wasn't bad, but not outstanding either. It's a reasonable choice for Latin fare if you happen to be nearby. They really make you feel welcome here!

Date: Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 Time: 6:45pm Party of: 2 Meal: Dinner Reservation Made: via Yelp *Plantain Chips ($7) *Ceviche/Tiradito Sampler ($49) *Pulpo a la Parilla ($19) *Empanada de Pollo ($12) *Chicharon de Pollo ($13) *Totopos Con Chile ($8) *Green Salad ($7) *Mixto Sour ($14) *Arroz con Mariscos ($31) *Lomo Saltado ($30) *Margarita ($11) *Red Wine Sangria ($10) *Can Soda ($3) *Pisco Flan ($9) *Mexican Coffee ($10) Did we order too much for two people? Yes! Did I have a bunch of leftovers? Yes again. Did it taste good the next day as well? Yeppers! A friend and I decided to have dinner cuz I was randomly in town for the week. I wanted to stay local, so we decided to try Mixto. Had never heard of the place, but the menu looked diverse and I adore Peruvian food. It was easy to find a rezzie. I think I made it the day before or the day of. When we arrived, we parked right in front. We were the only table for a while. A few parties filtered in later. I really liked the ceviche / tiradito sampler. I love trying a variety of fish / seafood, so this was a great way to do it. The app included everything - Ceviche Classico, Mixto, Chino, Vegano, and Tiradito Salmon. Tho note this doesn't come with any plantain chips. My friend thought they did so said yes when our server asked us if we wanted any. Other favs were the salad, octopus, and seafood rice. The cilantro on the salad was creamy and flavorful. The octopus was tender with a nice chew. The rice was savory with a good amount of clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari, scallops, and fish. I tried a fair amount of cocktails while here. Cuz why not?! Their take on the pisco sour was tart and refreshing. The margarita was fun. Not as boozy as I like, but balanced. The sangria was fine. I either like mine really light and fruity or very boozy with brandy. This was somewhere in between. The mexican coffee was as expected. Agave wine and coffee might not be my thing, but it was a fine end of the meal drink. Glad we randomly decided to try this spot. A great neighborhood resto! REVIEW #3762

    Carne asada super burrito

After a 5 mile run along the great highway, this was the perfect post-workout meal. I arrived around 5pm on a Saturday, before the dinner rush. A musician was setting up, seems like it could turn into a party later. I ordered a super burrito, which caught my eye from the menu on the outside window. I also asked the waitress for a small bite recommendation and she guided me to an Empanada de pollo. I liked how it was cut into bite sizes, great for sharing. The flavor was amazing and the sauce was incredible! I enjoyed the complimentary house chips and salsa as well, while I waited for my burrito. The super burrito was huge and I liked how it was cut in half. Great presentation. More a sit down place for sharing with friends, but this burrito sure did hit the spot! I would love to come back for a dinner when the music is playing.

    Arroz con Mariscos

A lovely neighborhood joint! We ordered: ceviche mixto, arroz con Mariscos, lomo saltado. It was all delicious! Service was excellent and there was live music on a Saturday night! We will definitely be coming back to check out more of the menu.

We had a great dining experience here. We got a ceviche classico which was nicely marinated in lime juice and came with a side of tortilla chips. The fish is cut into bigger chunks than what I'm used to. While I would prefer smaller cuts, my husband was a fan of the larger chunks. We also shared a lomo saltado and an arroz con marisco. The beef strips were perfectly marinated and super tender. We only wish there was more of it that came on the plate. The arroz was a bit on the salty side but otherwise, well seasoned and nicely balanced with the assortment of seafood that came incorporated. It was a size that was enough for us to share for dinner and still have 1 leftover serving size for lunch the next day. All the dishes were good in their own way. The only thing we didn't really like was their red sangria - it was a bit too light and sweet. It would have been nicer if it was a darker, richer flavor, but that is ultimately personal preference.

My friends & I had wonderful visits of the Japanese Tea Garden, Botanical Garden and the Queen of Wilhelmina Garden in the Golden Gate Park on Wednesday. The weather contributed for becoming tourists in San Francisco. Later I told my friends to try Mixto on Judah for early dinner. It's a casual restaurant offering a menu of Peruvian eats with a mix of other Latin food. So I called the restaurant for reservation for 5 people at 5 pm. We found parking on the street. When we arrived, we were the first customers. My first time at the restaurant was in 2024 and just repeated yesterday. The dining room was clean but not the washroom. The garbage can was full of paper towels from lunchtime. Hope they can improve the toilet. They played Latin music and the wall decor was colorful. For starters we had Empanada de Pollo and Yuca Frita. We did not have any drinks but cold water as we were wining in the park before dinner. The three of us ordered the Fish Tacos, the others got Pupusas & Adobo Sliders. The empanada taste had a kick but not overwhelming. I was happy that my friends enjoyed the food. Some portions were big so we had boxed them to go. The server was nice. I gave 4 stars just because of the toilet. However, it was nice to support a small business like Mixto Latin Cuisine. If we are in the area again, we will consider Mixto.

    Abida H.

Deeeelicious fish-everything at Mixto! We tried both the fish sandwich and fish tacos and the fish was fantastic, perfectly tender inside with a nice crispyness on the outside. I loved the sauce-heavy tacos if I had to pick one to order again! Would have loved to try more of the menu including ceviche, lomo saltado, etc. so will have to return! Menu is quite extensive with creative combos such as a lomo saltado omelette on the brunch menu. Good vibes and latin music. Minus 1 star because the wait for our order and then for our food was super long. Not sure if they forgot about us seated upstairs (the only table upstairs). To be fair, it was a busy day but we saw several tables arrive and get their food long before we did. Would have appreciated a little more attentiveness.

Mixto Latin Cuisine is a casual restaurant in the Outer Sunset serving delicious Peruvian Salvadorian food, with live music on weekends. Food: The birria tacos were the highlight. The arroz con mariscos was solid. Service was attentive. Our server went above and beyond taking photos for us. I would come back on a weekend to experience the live music.

We had an early reservation for dinner last Saturday night. We figured arriving early should make parking easier to handle, but we were circling for about 10 minutes before finding a place. Same with our friends in their car who met us for dinner. When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied, and our table had a Reserved sign on it. One downside, we were very near the door, and we never really warmed up all evening. Next time, we'll request a table away from the door! Those were the negatives. Everything else was wonderful! We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Lighting was low, and felt very comfortable. For the four of us, we ordered: * Plantain Chips (I think they were complimentary, along with a spicy dipping sauce) -- excellent, crispy, a great way to keep us occupied while ordering * Calamari Frito -- excellent! Crispy, and two great dipping sauces. * Tostada de Quinoa -- not sure if this is what we ordered, but it was very good. We split it into quarters. For the main course, there were two orders of the amazing Salmon Risotto (one for me, one for our friend). This was a thick piece of salmon, perfectly grilled and still hot, sitting on a cylinder of crispy risotto. The risotto was also perfect, just enough crispiness on the outside, and cheesy warmth on the inside. Inbetween, a layer of sauteed spinach, and a great salsa. One of the best salmon dishes I've ever had. My wife ordered the Pescado Sudan, halibut poached in Peruvian Salsa Tigre, and served over spinach and yuca frita. I got to taste some at dinner, and more the next night as leftovers. Excellent flavors, just enough spice. The final dish was the Costillos De Cordero, Australian lamb chops. Presentation was beautiful (see photo) and she was very excited by this dish. For dessert we ordered the Picarones, three warm Peruvian donuts with a cinnamon syrup. We were expecting the donuts to be small, but they were huge. The plate was steaming, and the best part was cutting a piece and dipping it into the sauce on the plate. The texture was a little chewy, but delicious. And we had to have chocolate, so we ordered the flourless chocolate cake. Exactly what we were hoping for, with a small dollop of whipped cream on top. We will be back for sure. This may even become a tradition for us since it's about half way from our home and from our friends' home. Check it out!

Came here to try something new and to celebrate our anniversary! We ordered a few drinks which are quite affordable in this economy and were refreshing and delightful. Our apps and entrees were perfectly seasoned and flavorful and would definitely want to try more from their menu. Live music every Saturday too

We decided to order à la carte so we could choose all of our favorites. Overall, everything was absolutely delicious, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The price is expensive though and the service was quite slow as the restaurant got very busy. My favorite dish was their signature Gran Bandeja Cebichera, a chilled seafood platter featuring ceviche, crab topped with purple sweet potato purée, charcoal-seared nigiri, sashimi, octopus, and jumbo prawns. Every bite was fresh and vibrant, and the variety of sauces created a wonderful balance of bright citrus, natural sweetness, and umami. It was layered, refreshing, and full of flavor. Among the hot dishes, I especially loved the whole charcoal-grilled cauliflower, served with eggplant purée, crispy garlic chips, and a sweet pepper sauce. It had a beautifully charred exterior while remaining tender inside, with an amazing smoky aroma. If you enjoy cocktails, their Pisco Sour is a must-try. As Peru's most iconic cocktail, it strikes a perfect balance between sweet and tart, making it crisp, and refreshing.

There is a nice selection off the main menu for Happy Hour 4-6pm. Providing an opportunity to sample one or more of the menu items as an appetizer. I chose the mussels with garlic bread, as good ones are not found easily. The portion was quite ample, and the sauce I dipped my nice crunchy garlic bread in was very flavorful, warm and delicious. I also tried the plantains which were cooked perfectly; not too mushy with a perfect char, and the sweet onions on top were also tasty. Paired with a very tangy dipping sauce. All the flavors came together well. My husband ordered the Cantina burger which he enjoyed down to the last bite. Our daughter also sampled off the smaller menu with Lomo Empanadas and the Chicharron de Pollo which she reported were both very nicely prepared. Will, our server gave us excellent recommendations which we availed ourselves of. The bill for 4 items plus the burger, a side of rice, and a ginger beer came to just under seventy dollars, which was a reasonable price. I would definitely give the food five stars, and the restaurant four as it's a long and lengthy bar with a few tables for two. The majority of the seating is in the back with two flat screens and an open kitchen. I can imagine how loud this place can get. We went at the perfect time: not a lot of customers so we received excellent individualized service from Will. I would hope to be able to return next time we visit GG Park and sample some more menu items like the Peruvian Paella which sounded very promising.
