Great cozy place for a quick bite and a few drinks. They had a lengthy list of whiskey, for those who enjoy and several different wines. They had happy hour deals as well. It's definitely a cozy place and could see it getting packed, so plan a visit accordingly. Wish we had a place like this nearby (since we live in TX)!

Wonderful place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks and appetizers. Loved the deviled eggs!

Great place to stop in for a drink. We are members at the Library so while waiting for dinner tables the Green room is the spot. The staff is the best. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Test or ask about drinks and they will make you something special. Next time you're downtown Portland, stop in.

Cute little neighborhood bar with a good selection of craft cocktails. They also serve food and munchies! Their happy hour is fro 4-6pm and again from 9pm to close. Everyone from the host, server, and bartender was friendly and welcoming. The vibe was very homey and welcoming, definitely check them ou

Such a nice cozy, dark experience that gave Harry Potter vibes, which I loved. Even if they did not carry blue cheese, stuffed olives the cocktails that were made based off of what mood I was in was so amazing.

**Note: this ground-floor bar is separated from the Whiskey Library which is located on the floor directly above. There are many photos on this Yelp page for the Green Room which are actually photos of the Whiskey Library. Know that these are separate spaces with different decors** My kid, her beau and I visited The Green Room briefly as we waited for our names to be called for the Whiskey Library upstairs (you need to put your name on a waitlist for the Library with the hostess here at the Green Room). The palette here is... you guessed it....primarily green. The lighting is dim, the decor is traditional (wood finishes and green subway tiles), traditional bar are at the rear of the room, live plants at the top of the war's wall shelving (more greenery). Very cozy and warm, and the bar is impressive. Not fancy per se but cozy and welcoming. Here's the deal: what I love most about the Green Room is its commitment to community support. Every quarter they donate funds to a worthy local organization. When we visited, that quarter they were donating $2500 to the Raphael House which services survivors of domestic violence. I really love that devotion to community, and if I lived in Portland, I would be regularly supporting this place. Kudos to the Green Room!

The atmosphere is lovely and the bar is absolutely beautiful. The service was excellent, everyone was so kind and attentive. The food was delicious, and the drinks were amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

    Nightcap at the Green Room

The Multnomah Whiskey Library's de facto 'waiting room' (hence the name) may just be a solid standalone cocktail destination in and of itself. Ish. Ducked in for a quick nightcap and was so enchanted we may have overstayed our welcome. You enter what looks a generic wooden office door and the space, though narrow, feels instantly impressive: crazy tall cove ceiling with a cool mural/detail, ginormous windows looking out onto Alder, low key, dim lighting and a magnificent wall of liquor towering toward the back of the room - also lit very purposefully. It's a nice back alley vibe, sorta old-timey but without being divey, and it's not too fancy ( though folks did look kinda dressed up the night we were there). It's definitely is not your average neighborhood tavern either; for one thing that crazy patterned wall paper is something else. The place got pretty crowded by 10pm on a Friday night and the big bar is loaded to the gills with any spirit you might possibly need, with a cocktail program that's well thought out and sporting plenty of creative options. (I highly recommend the Sin-Cyn). Our servers went above and beyond in describing every facet of the cocktail ingredients (or whiskey) and although we didn't eat, the food being served at tables around us looked pretty damn good too. Seems they share a lot of menu items with the Whiskey Library just upstairs, so you're in luck. Seriously, next time somebody suggests the MWL, I'm just gonna stay downstairs at the Green Room - it's less stuffy anyway, and a lovely escape in the middle of downtown.

Naked and Afraid - couldn't wait to take the pic so its a half drank glass!

Pros: - Bartender is awesome! Great job in recommending and making drinks based on your preference and mood. Had a great time trying to challenge them as well - Both the food and drinks were great! Was surprised that by how good the food was since i'm more use to speakeasy places w/ good drinks and some plain snacks - Great environment and not too loud so you can have conversations with your company w/o needing to shout Cons: - Gets busy during hot hours and would need to wait in line - Does not get you access to the Multanah Library that's next door - Limited seating so might not be good for groups that are too big Overall - Love this place and would return again and again!

This is right below the Multnomah Whiskey Library. It's a cool place to hangout while you wait to get in to the library. It's a small space with all green decor, hence the name. The service was fast and the servers constantly kept checking in on us. We tried the eggnog and the kir royale cocktails and both were really good. We also tried fries with lemon pepper aioli that was to die for and some rosemary Parmesan popcorn. Being from Chicago, I wasn't a fan of the popcorn but apparently it's quite popular. Overall a chill place to sip on your cocktails before heading to the library.

The chocolate cake was amazing. I'll jst come here for this cake! I got the golden hour mocktail! Happy they have options for drinks with and without alc.

This bartender is the boss! She works so hard and makes AMAZING drinks! This place has the best ambience and the drinks are so good!

This bartender is so amazing! She makes the BEST drinks. We literally just told her what we like and she made us the best drinks! The ambience was amazing and the drinks were delicious!

Cozy, speakeasy ambiance. Perfect for a drink and conversation. Service was energetic and attentive. I also found out that you can leave your name down for the whiskey library without a membership. We arrived too late and was unable to be sat in the library before closing, but I'd love to attempt again another time!

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
