They also gave you a small wedge of a blueberry bread that literally melts in your mouth. I felt so satisfied with that one bite. It was decadent!!!! The staff is also friendly, the place is packed so be kind to staff, they all work hard as you will see. The cooks never look up from grill and the wait staff is everywhere. The corned beef hash tasted homemade and flavorful, and the poached eggs and hollandaise were cooked just right. My husband had a spinach, mushroom, and cheese omelette and my daughter loved her lox breakfast sandwich. Everything on the table felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. What a nice and welcoming place. I had read about it during a previous visit to the area but we found it closed that time. For this most recent visit, I was determined to go there and we were not dissapointed! It was everything a cute little breakfast joint should be. The food came out fast and was plentiful. It was fun to sit at the bar area and be able to watch them make the omelettes too. I only wish there had been a child-size omelette on offer (or maybe there was and I missed it). I didn't want a lot of food but would have liked to have had one, they just seemed like more food than I personally needed that day. We visit Maine several times every year, and although we had not been to the Omelette Factory in about two years, we decided to give it another try because of all the recent publicity and positive attention it has been getting. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we have had here. For how expensive everything was, the quality and service fell far below expectations. To start, we were charged an extra $3.25 for three pieces of bacon that we assumed came included with the classic 2 egg breakfast. The food was equally underwhelming. The home fries contained pickled onions, which were not listed on the menu. They completely overpowered the flavor and made the home fries almost inedible for me. In general, the menu descriptions were far too vague and did not accurately explain what was being served, making it difficult to know what you were actually ordering. My mom ordered a drink advertised as containing strawberry puree and fresh strawberries. Instead, it arrived almost completely orange with no fresh strawberries and little to no puree. It looked nothing like the description, and no explanation was offered. The restaurant itself was uncomfortable--extremely hot inside, and we were squeezed into a tiny corner of an already cramped dining room with barely enough room to eat. What hurt most was the service. The owner went around checking on table after table, asking everyone how their food was, yet deliberately bypassed ours. It was hard not to notice, especially since we had multiple issues that could have been addressed. There are plenty of excellent breakfast spots in southern Maine, which makes this all the more disappointing. Between the extra charges, vague menu, uncomfortable seating, and complete lack of hospitality, we left wishing we had gone elsewhere. We will not be returning. read more

I really wanted to give them a higher rating but can't sadly. This place is a go-to place for a friend of mine and I'm loving their roosters. However, our waiter was really not great. First of all, it was very loud, and he spoke so softly with an accent, it was hard to hear him. My omelette was runny. My daughter had strawberries on her pancakes with bad spots on them. I followed her to the restroom (she is little) and when I came back, our plates and used napkins were all piled up. (But not taken away, so I was confused if he thought we dined and dashed or something.) I definitely could not finish my meal because of dirty napkins, etc. (I had only finished half at that point). Probably shouldn't have had my daughter either because now plates that had been on the table was now on her food, but she did salvage some. He never came back and asked if I wanted a refresh on my coffee. But I did flag him down to ask for more apple juice and napkins. He came back with apple juice (this time with ice-which I didn't love for my little daughter to have) and no napkins. Really not a great experience. I have been going to the omelette factory for 25 years when the original owner was there. Through the years it has been sold, but has not changed until the recent sale to this new owner. The best part of the omelette factory was sitting downstairs enjoying a fabulous breakfast and being entertained by the chef Bobby . Everyone was always happy, smiling singing.. We found out that Bobby is no longer there because the new owner was not very good to him. We just went to the omelette factory on 8/21/2026 and we told that downstairs was closed. We had to sit upstairs, which they hardly had any seats left so we had to either sit at the bar or outside and all of the staff were not smiling they all looked tired. The omelettes are smaller, and the prices have gone up.. I don't mind a price increase, but don't cut back on the food. Seems like the new owner is all about himself and promoting roosters instead of making a happy place to have breakfast.. we always went there because the experience was so different now it's like any other place in Ogunquit. A friendly waitress helped me narrow things down and recommended the chicken fajita omelette, which was my first impulse. A solid cup of dark coffee to begin, and a sizable omelette was soon in front of me with a delicious English muffin and their own homemade strawberry preserves plus a little chunk of blueberry-lemon cake. The omelette was exceptional, and the addition of Chef Bobby's hot sauce made it even better. Totally stuffed by the end, and planning to come back again this week before heading home. I've been coming to The Omelette Factory for the past 3 seasons and the food is always consistent and served HOT. My son and I sat upstairs at the counter in the new dining area. If you've been to the omelette factory before and sat at the counter, they have the same setup but now it's upstairs. The new counter seating overlooks chef Bobby's cooking area so you're able to see the chef and his team prepare your food. Our waitress Kathy was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Western omelette that was delicious and my son ordered a ham and cheese omelette. The omelette (see menu in one of the attached pictures) is served with slice of English muffin, homemade Blueberry bread and Strawberry jam. The Western omelette was cooked perfectly and packed with diced ham, green pepper, onion and cheddar. Kathy made sure my coffee was always topped off aka warmed up. My son also enjoyed his ham and cheese omelette. I did not try chef bobby's hot sauce....... The omelette was delicious, service was prompt and friendly, and prices were reasonable. Last year we went to this place and it was packed and this year we got lucky. We walked right in and got a table. The selection is insane, especially for omelettes because they have everything from chicken fajita omelettes to steak and cheese. It's definitely a cozy vibe in there because there are not many tables that would be the only downfall but makes sense because it's in a house. I got a mushroom & ham omelette which it was super packed and I shared it with my mom. I would have preferred like a toast instead of an English muffin, but my mom really liked the English muffins. My son got a chocolate chip pancake which was good and you get a lot for a kid's meal. My other son got a regular pancake and they are massive. Ordered the lobster Benedict and was super excited, up until I cut into it (and then the bite). Looked great on the plate, but it was obvious from the first cut that the egg was way overcooked to the point that there was no runny yolk at all. The first several bites of lobster were great, perfectly tender, but subsequent chunks were overcooked and chewy. Unfortunately the Hollandaise was almost flavorless, rich without adding anything to the palate. The lobster and the few sprinkled chives were all I could taste. The inside is very unpretentious, almost like a country home, done in a soft grey palette and wood. Bear in mind, this place is tight- as in walking sideways tight. But hey... My non-Yelp husband figured since I love lobster AND there's an omelette with it, why not come here. Even with his mask on, Chef Bobby is all smiles with his eyes which were a warm welcome! Hubs liked his BEC and we shared a tasty waffle. While my Lobster Omelette was indeed PACKED with Lobster, the herbs on it, wiped out the true taste of the meat and couldn't finish it all. My wife and I happened upon The Omelette Factory by accident. This gem of a breakfast hang out did not disappoint. Chef Bobby was warm and informative and a true master of the omelette. All of the food is fresh. I had the New Englander and my wife enjoyed the Vegetable Jubilee. We are both GLUTEN FREE and my wife has Celiac. They had amazing local GF bread and GF potatoes. When I tell you everything is leveled up and seasoned well I am not kidding. Chef Bobby also has a home made hot sauce that sneaks up on you but is full flavored. Amazing food and friendly service! We had such a great breakfast this morning. The French toast and Benedict in particular were fantastic.

Everything here is excellent! The omelettes are soft and the chefs don't short you on the fillings. The stuffed French toast was very interesting, and with syrup it was pretty good. The sweet bread is incredibly delectable and melts in your mouth (I don't even normally like cooked fruits, but it was incredible)! The wait-staff were all very kind and attentive, checking up on us frequently. We don't understand all the 5 star reviews. We drove 40 minutes to have breakfast here after reading them and about the new owners and it was a disappointment. First of all the prices were pretty shocking. $16.95 for an omelette is $3-4 higher than we see (even along the coast) in NH. And they include homefries. Homefries here are $5.45 extra! But we figured they would be amazing. Sorry to say no. Omelettes should not be brown. They should be light yellow and soft. My omelette was overcooked and dry. The cheddar was stringy--not just melted. My husband was suppose to have chili in his but could barely find a bit of tomato sauce, and he had to ask for the sour cream. To top it all off, we saw the owners sitting up front. When we left 10 minutes before closing, the place had quieted down and one of the owners walked out in front of us to take down the "open" flag. We both were shocked that neither of them greeted us or asked how our meal was. Nothing. They totally ignored us. I worked in retail and in restaurants (including breakfast) and that is unheard of. I hope you start engaging with your customers. It is a good habit to have. We ate upstairs because many years ago when I lived and waited tables in the area I used to eat downstairs.
