I came here at the beginning of summer 2021 with my boyfriend and we had the best tomato soup and lobster eggs benedict. We went back this past weekend - walk in, 1 hour wait - because I couldn't stop thinking about the tomato soup. It was just as good as I remembered, creamy and slightly acidic and a little sweet and overall very comforting. Other things we ordered: Blueberry pancake (I'm not a huge fan of butter so not my fave), crab saratoga (boyfriend really liked this), and mushroom ravioli (interesting buttery nutty flavor). Service was very slow took about an hour and 20 minutes to get a breakfast for our table of four. Business unable to split checks shouldn't be that difficult with computer technology. Have a wide variety from their yogurt parfait, eggs, Benny to their Mexican tortilla breakfast. The tortilla failed to have the jalapeño cheese sauce and lacked flavor. Many other opportunities in the area with better service and better quality of food, place is always busy. You'll wait 30 or 40 minutes to be seated. Something must've went south on this visit. Every visit has been a treat. I'm a fan of the breakfast burrito while my better half enjoys the benedicts. The place is always jamming and the folks that run things are amazing and wear a smile even with their "challenging" customers. We've been at least a dozen times and there's a reason: consistent service, food, and atmosphere. There are no real reviews or pics of lunch, so I wasn't sure if Greenery's lunch would be tasty. But they have such amazing brunch/breakfast reviews, I figured it would be good. And it was. Ambience-wise, the outside isn't amazing. You're in a parking lot, under a tent. But the waitress was very sweet and the food is delish. Service was pretty fast, too.... I got the southwest chicken salad and my husband got the Buffalo chicken wrap with the shredded potatoes on the side. The potatoes needed some salt, but otherwise, it was all fantastic!!! Good, quality food and very good portions. I devoured my salad - couldn't even fully finish it because I was so full!! If our hotel didn't have breakfast, I would have gone here. Maybe next time. Best breakfast in Ogunquit!! I personally prefer hitting up their bakery on the weekends, but during the week this is where you need to spend your morning breakfast. I'm not sure who these people are complaining, but this place is legit good...not "tourist" good. The coffee, the baked goods, and the breakfast sandwiches are fantastic. People complaining about service are probably the most pretentious people on earth, because this is what to expect in any Northeastern breakfast spot, actually they are quite a bit nicer. This is also a major tourist town, so they have to deal with out of towners all morning..mostly with a staff of HS or college students. We love Ogunquit because of the beach, and come usually right at the beginning of the season. I'm sure the end of the season everyone is at their wits end. At the 30 minute mark I asked for a manager and here is where I want to warn you of the STRAIGHT UP RUDE MANAGEMENT. If she is supposed to be cooking in the kitchen let her stay there because customer service she knows NOTHING ABOUT! She came to the table already to place blame on anyone but her slow ass. She NEVER apologized for the wait only that the grill had little to no space to put another pancake. Finally the one pancake comes not only was it COLD did not taste good at all. The waitress was sweet and apologized 6 times (yup 6). She asked if she could take to pancake off and the manager said no. SMH. Who does at? Finally the waitress was able to take the pancake off. Walking out the I did notice they had muffins and coffee that looked delicious but by then I was was not giving this ratchet place any more of my time or money. This quaint little cafe was the perfect spot for our first breakfast when visiting Maine on our fall foliage trip. The Crab Cake Benedict is still on my mind almost daily. So delicious and savory. The Maple French Toast was perfectly balanced with sugary sweetness and local maple syrup. Our server was so friendly and helped give us some tips on sites to see while in the area. To help break up the drive home on our Maine-cation, we decided to stay a night on the Southern Coast. So many little gems! This is a little on the outskirts of town, so there is plentiful dedicated parking, seating and absolutely delicious food! My partner got the crab Saratoga - scrambled eggs, crab, cream cheese and scallions AND an egg / hollandaise sauce on top. I did a custom egg white, veggie, crab scramble. The crab and veggies were so fresh and the hash potatoes / toast were so filling and good! I love that they do half orders of French Toast - more flavors to try! We did a half maple walnut order and a half blueberry. When in Maine! The maple walnut was divine - light and the right amount of sweet. The blueberry came w fresh blueberries AND delicious blueberry compote - you want to spread it on everything! We loved Maine, and this meal was representative of all the goodness in Maine. My first time at the Greenery Cafe was before the pandemic but, I had such good memories, I decided to come again this trip. I knew it got busy so I arrived just before 8am and I was so happy to be seated right away. There were tables outside but without asking, they gave me a cozy seat inside. I ordered iced coffee and when I took my sip, I was soo sad because I was expecting something to rival my premade iced coffee from the grocery store. While it was drinkable, I wouldn't rush to order it again. For my meal, I ordered the Western Scramble and replaced the ham with sausage, I was offered the option of a omelet in place of the scramble but declined. It came with shredded potatoes and toast of your choice. OMG!! This did not disappoint. The eggs were perfectly cooked and I enjoyed the peppers and I definitely made the right call with the sausage, it was super flavorful and juicy. The scramble had loads of onions and not that many peppers but the flavors worked well. The sourdough was freshly made and perfectly buttered. The flavors were pronounced but lacked that bite you only find on the west coast. While I did not receive bad service at all, it was standard and didn't blow my hair back so there really isn't much to say. My timing was perfect because just as I was finishing up, I saw that there was a line beginning to form. Paid my tip and headed out for the day. read more

Jam packed for mediocre food and the most unexpectedly nasty and unaccommodating service from the moment you step up to be seated. I grew up in OGT and know literally everyone in town. My dear friends from my childhood are business owners all over Ogunquit. I have every intention of sharing my most recent experience at The Greenery with them, including long time friends on the zoning board. Not only is the food underwhelming, the atmosphere is average and this is the second time (had been here twice before and got an attitude when I asked for egg whites), for absolutely no reason, one of their employees was just downright nasty with a surprisingly inexcusable and unexpected attitude. She literally attacked us when we walked up. We simply asked how long the wait would be for an outdoor table. She said 'I'm not going to rush anyone to leave' ... umm, no one had suggested that. We were in great moods and taken off guard. She dismissed us as we told her we would wait for a table to become available. We saw her from afar while waiting, speak with an attitude to everyone who approached the hostess stand. She was clearly busy and maybe she was having a bad day. I always try to empathize with this. We all have bad days, but when I kindly asked if she was the owner, she scathingly attacked me! She literally said 'I know you want to speak to the manager, I can tell by the way you're glaring at me!' ... I was not even vaguely glaring at her, nor did I ask to speak with the manager. Assumptive and rude, but after that, I definitely preferred to speak with and deal with someone KIND and hospitable while I'm trying to enjoy my hard earned vacation. My friend who knows I'm super good to others was literally shocked by this interaction, as was I. Maybe because I have green eyes she thought I was 'glaring' at her, but I wasn't nearly upset enough to do that. However, once she spewed this inaccurate accusation, THEN I was upset and though a table opened up, we chose to leave and now I will no longer be a patron of this place again. They don't deserve good people there. No one deserves to be treated this way. Truly appalling. I used to frequent this place but this is now the second time I've had an unacceptable issue with the people who work here/operate this place. Go a few feet up the road to The Egg & I, an Ogunquit staple and eternally good food (get the grilled blueberry muffin with blueberry butter over there or the banana foster French toast, also WAY better eggs Benedict's there too), Seriously don't bother with this black cloud establishment. The Greenery seems to have become a victim of its own popularity. It's consistently packed, but the kitchen just can't seem to keep up. On a recent visit we waited well over 45 minutes for our lunch to arrive and we weren't the only table that was visibly frustrated. Once our food arrived it was quite tasty. I would just know if you plan to dine here do not expect to be served quickly. This place was suggested to us by a shop owner when we were in her store in downtown Ogunquit. It's located outside of downtown and away from the drama. My wife and I visited on a busy Monday morning before our trip back to New Jersey. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table. There was seating inside and outside. It's a nice quaint and cozy breakfast spot with lots of appeal. My wife ordered the maple nut French toast and I ordered the French toast with strawberries and a side of bacon. We shared a fruit cup and ordered the 100% pure maple syrup for a small fee. My wife loved her French toast. Covered in nuts and a smattering of maple syrup. 4 big thick half slices. My French toast was thick and smothered in strawberries. The fruit cup was fresh. As coffee snobs, we would say the coffee was very good. They have homemade muffins that were huge so we bought three of them for home. One has already been devoured with positive reviews. The service was excellent and friendly. All the staff got along great with each other and loved being there. It was nice to see. Prices were very reasonable for the area. They have ample parking in their private lot. Cute place, crowded so we waited a while for our breakfast. The tables on the patio are so crowded. I wore my mask, but my sisters didn't and ended up with COVID. Don't know that this is where they got it, but it just shows we still aren't out of the woods. I ordered the Lobster Benedict. This was my first taste of lobster and I was SO disappointed. It was so stringy that I had to spit it out after I chewed and chewed it!! I even asked my sisters if that was what lobster was supposed to be, I thought I was supposed to swallow the strings but didn't want to. The Hollandaise sauce was great and the hashbrowns were good. One of my sisters ordered the brie lobster omelette and her lobster was not stringy like mine. We discovered later in our trip that the meat from the legs can be stringy but the meat from the tail is chunky. I assume that the leg meat is used in their Lobster Benedict. The person on the phone was super patient while we tried to pick our options despite it being packed inside. The parking lot was packed but you can pull over to the front to get your takeout. Two cappuccinos and a chocolate croissant. Smallest cappuccino ever and came off the counter lukewarm. Croissant wasn't made fresh - it had to be at least a day, probably two days old.
