I haven't been to The Greenery Restaurant for several years. I went on 03/31/2015 and enjoyed every minute. It wasn't terribly busy when we got there, so it didn't take long to get served. I had the fowl play sandwich. My mom had the pancho villa. She still had her $5.00 off birthday card with free cake. I think everyone that was there got a 6 pack of Mormon Muffins to go. We shopped in the gift stores after lunch. We found a very pretty scarf for one of my aunt's birthday's that is very lightweight. She travels a lot, so she basically packs a backpack. I haven't received a birthday card for this year yet, but I filled out a card again. read more

Had the salmon with broccoli and my wife did the new York strip. Plenty of parking. Seating at 5:30 had no wait. Good was done with pefection and great taste. Had a singer playing the guitar created a great mood. Server was prompt and attentive. Dessert was Apple pie alamode was delicious. This is a hiden gem to eat at the mouth of Ogden canyon. I have been going to The Greenery for years. I can always count on my favorites being on the menu no matter how long since my last visit. The food and service is always good. The view of the river and canyon is gorgeous! They also do take-out. We have taken advantage of this service a few times. It meets our expectations as well. We have been going to The Greenery since I was little, at least once a week, for over 30 years. In the last year and a half, it has really taken a dive. Recently I've noticed how dirty the place is. The last time we went I held my purse on my knee the entire time because the floor was absolutely disgusting. The carpet needs replaced, yet money was spent for an outdoor patio, which no one sits at because its hot outside or the wind is blowing. Huge waste of money there. Update your decor, dishes, replace the carpet, and get people to work in the kitchen that don't look like they crawled out from under a rock!!! The quality of the food has gone downhill also. Stopped by Ogden for a day and decided to have lunch here. Everything was outstanding. I had the Benedict Arnold and it was fantastic. The Mormon muffins were also very good. The waitress always had a smile on her face and was very attentive. I would highly recommend this place. read more

The Greenery is one of my favorite places to eat! Whenever my friends ask me where I want to go for my birthday, I always say The Greenery! We are greeted pleasantly & ask to sit near the windows.The service has always been excellent. A few of our favorites to eat are: turkey enchiladas, all the salads & the vegetable soup. Now the best part,the Mormon Muffins! They are huge. The honey butter that comes with them make them even better. We order a box of 6 to take home! I highly recommend this charming resteraunt. I have lived in the Ogden area for 38 years and have made many, many trips to The Greenery. Sometimes I've come with small groups of women for coffee and Mormon Muffins. Other occasions have been for lunch or dinner with a few close friends or my daughters. I've even made solo visits for a bite to eat or a famous muffin to treat myself. I have never been disappointed! The food has consistently been delicious and fresh. There is such a variety of choices on the menu, so there's never a problem finding something that "hits the spot"! The service has been fantastic --friendly, polite, and accurate. The prices have risen minimally over the years. We love to introduce friends and visiting family to this local treasure. Today's visit was to pick up two 6-packs of the famous Mormon Muffins with extra honey butter -- one pack for home for my birthday celebration, and the other for my daughter to take to a friend (that she met in Norway) and her family in Holladay who had never heard of nor experienced them! No Utahn should suffer the "tragedy" of NOT visiting The Greenery! We love it! read more

Holy high hair, Batman! this place was iconic and tragic at the same time : tragiconic (I made a new word!) It was as if Barbie's Friendship Cruiseship circa 1970 anchored itself in Ogden. A sea of black lacquer bistro chairs, checkerboard tile, artificial ferns and Peter Max graphic designs coupled with a menu heavy on casseroles and chicken.... The place was wall to wall with ladies who were freshly blue rinsed, wet set, and teased high... it felt like Sunday morning on a Tuesday afternoon. Mormon muffins were good (hence one star) and the service was also efficient (hence the other) the food was NOT good.I had the Thomas Devan: turkey and broccoli in a curry cream sauce. It was sliced turkey cold cuts topped with brocolli butter and cheese with a cream sauce with no determinable flavor profile. Pepper and hot sauce were added, and I NEVER add hot sauce to anything. I only ate it out of guilt, because I did not want to offend. I could not stop looking around...it was surreal. Tragiconic. This restaurant is set inside an overwhelmingly large complex that contains a gift store that feels like a flea market: booth after booth of everything from fine jewelry to lint rollers. The hallway to the bathroom smells like a nursing home, and the bathroom smelled worse! I would come again to people watch and eat the Mormon muffins, but I would not drive out of my way to get here. read more

My husband and I went to The Greenery in Ogden, we haven't gone for a few years but the food was generally decent when we went. I ordered the Turkey Enchiladas and My husband ordered the Marco Polo. I have only walked out of a few restaurants in my life, but this was horrible! I swear they used a Lynn Wilson tortilla, can of mushroom soup with no spices, threw it in the microwave and put sour cream, tomato, and lettuce on top. When we went up to pay for it, even though we didn't eat it, I asked the host if they had changed recipes? He said not in the 13 years that he had been there and he confirmed the ingredients I listed above. Well, it hasn't been 13 years since I have been there, maybe five. But usually that place is packed and it wasn't today. My point is, take pride in your food, make it fresh including your salsa and don't use Pace Picante Sauce (FRESH!) Restaurants go out of business because of quality. Nothing should ever come out of a kitchen five min after ordering it. The restaurant has a beautiful and great location, rethink your food. Heck, I'll come and create the same menu with better tasting food. Even nursing homes have better food than this. Not really ranting, but change needs to read more

We LOVE the Greenery! Its a great place to bring friends from out of town. The atmosphere is awesome and it feels like you've stepped back in time just a little. We have been coming to the Greenery since I was a kid. The "Mormon Muffins" are the best! If you love Christmas, make this a tradition to see all the trees decorated, its magical for children. The service is awesome, the food is always good. We always order the same thing so I am a bad person to ask, the enchiladas and sometimes the clam chowder. I love that its not a franchise!!!!! How often do you get great food and service in a beautiful location and a fun setting? That is exactly what you get at the Greenery! We had a group of 13 adults and not once were we waiting for refills, nor did we have to ask for the check our waiter was on top of it ready for our every need. It took a minute for one of the meals to come out because of a "mishap in the kitchen" but our friend was compensated with a delicious to die for mormon muffin! They have everything from delicious pastas to scrumptious salads to marvelous sandwiches. I think the sandwiches were the best part. Another great thing is that it won't break your budget. Almost every meal costs under 10 dollars! The setting is beautiful! Plus, they have an amazing gift shop right in the same building that is so much fun! I've heard about this place from all my co-workers, it was definitely a hit. My wife and I went there for lunch one Sunday. The food was great we both loved our sandwiches. I had the turkey something ciabatta. My wife had the fowl play another turkey sandwich. We also got some Mormon Muffins to go because the sandwiches were enough for one sitting. The food came out real fast. Inside was nicely decorated and clean. We had a great view of the mountain. Insider tip, keep watching your mail ads for coupons, we saved $5. We go to The Greenery all the time. It's kind of a family tradition to go to celebrate my grandma's birthday. They food was great, as it always is. I was a little disappointed to see they had switched the licorice mints to regular ones. The licorice mints had always been one of my favorite parts about dining here. I had called about an hour before we were going to be there to make a reservation. They had our table ready and it was on the patio as we had requested. I really appreciate them having everything ready for us as we had a larger group of people. I would definitely recommend eating here. It's different than all the chain restaurants that are around. I've been coming here since I was a little boy. They have pretty good sandwiches and their muffins are delicious. My only complaints are they don't offer fries with their sandwiches or burgers and the price is a little high. read more

My husband and I visited for the first time and it did not disappoint. We both got salmon, but they had 2 different kinds of salmon on the menu and we tried one of each. They were both good! I also felt lole the servings were a good size. We were seated quickly and our server was kind. Our server was able to make suggestions of entree choices and was good with checking back on us. We also brought our 2 year year old. He did not eat from the kids menu but it was a family restaurant and suitable to bring your kids. Great views outside and going to this restaurant is a fun outing because of the stores it is attached to (my son loved walking through the shops). We use to go to the Restaurant at least once every other month. Now the last time we went back I had my usual crap and shrimp salad and it was not good at all. I was really disappointed in the meal and the amount of what they gave you, you had to look to see if tere was any meat on it, and the shrimp were old you could smell it. Its sure not the same. So I just let it go eat what I could and thought maybe they just had a bad day. Well we just went there yesterday 8-21-2016 and this time I got a burger, and my husband got the Turkey, once again the food was not good. The salad bar was not stocked very well nor wiped down and the place is beginning to look like a pig pen. The chairs are dirty, the flood is dirty so I am assuming the kitchen is not much better. The place was not busy and the waitress and waiters could have done some clean up work instead of standing around. The prices have gone up and your serving portions are a joke on most of the meals. Paying 5.00 to 7.00 dollars for a piece of pie, no way when I can buy a whole pie for that price. The Hamburger that I had came with a small side of pasta salad and a small wedge of Watermelon. You should have spent the money on the inside of your restaurant not on the outside of it. Sad to say but we are not going back there to eat again, not unless they do some major changes or get a new manager because the place is turning into unpleasant experience. read more

I ate some great breakfast food at The Greenery in March of this year (2016). I brought my wife in the late morning and it was busy but we were not required to wait very long. We both enjoyed the open environment and the plants all around us. I'm from Ogden and have been to The Greenery a time or two in the past. Not sure exactly how long it has been, but I had been thinking of returning for quite some time. Food was quite delicious and she like the Mormon muffin. In fact, that's what brought us to The Greenery in the first place. She was looking for a good muffin and we thought we'd try it out. I never remembered trying them out. Glad we did! read more

We love going to The Greenery. Our trip a few days ago was so pleasant. The atmosphere at The Greenery is so peaceful and inviting. That is one of the reasons we like to go there.The server was very attentive and answered our questions with suggestions of things we had never ordered before. He made sure our drinks were refilled several times and checked to make sure the food was what we had ordered. His kindness toward us is the reason I decided to send in this review. We ordered some take home food that was ready and waiting when we finished our meal. We never felt rushed and were able to sit and talk after the meal. One of my favorite reason's for eating at The Greenery is the variety of the menu. There is nowhere else near our home where we can get the types of foods offered here. I have 2 groups of friends who like to go here to eat for our birthdays. The clam chowder is the best I have had anywhere. Keep up the good work. We will be bad soon. read more

The food was good the wait was long. We waited quite a long time to be seated because there was no one at the front. We were seated at a small table even though there were several large ones available. This seems to happen every time I go there. All of the couples after us were seated at the bigger tables. The wait to order the food was a long time and for the check even longer. The waiter gave us no attention but was very personable. The steak was fairly expensive. It was not especially tender. I had a turkey enchilada and it was ok. The turkey tasted processed and gamey but it was good enough to eat. The sauteed mushrooms appetizer was delightful. Their muffins have a yummy, sweet, flavor, taste homemade, and are hearty. I was glad I looked online for coupons because my husband and I got ours free with our entrees. The environment was pleasant and colorful like a garden. I think they could update their fake grass flooring into tile or something more modern though. The waitress did a good/average job. The seating hostess needed some D.O. for her B.O. I saw several people that I know there and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. On my birthday my wife took me to The Greenery for lunch. It was in the morning about 11:00 a.m. when they opened. Their hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. weekdays. They were friendly but not overly attentive to us. Guess, since we were the first several customers they hadn't gotten into the groove yet. We order Chicken Alfredo with fettachini. It was very good. We had carrot cake for dessert that was also delicious. I would give them two stars because I have eaten in better places. The atmosphere was OK but nothing special like other places I've eaten. "My salad tastes like that GROSS bagged salad", I said. The waitress answered me back saying "That's because it IS bagged salad! They've been serving bagged salad for years!" Ewww! Gross!!!! That bagged salad tastes sooooo nasty! I don't even buy it to eat at home because it's so gross! I have eaten at this restaurant most of my life and have always loved it. However, after eating there today I'm starting to wonder if I'll eat here much anymore. I couldn't even eat some of it because it was brown and yucky. If the rest of their food is made with the same type of 'fresh' food- haha, joke, joke, I had today then I don't ever want to eat here again!!! I've never tried their salads before so I thought I'd try something new today. HUGE mistake!!! I got the Cobb salad and everything in it was delicious. So why did they RUIN it with BAGGED salad!!!!!!! Super - Super Gross!!!! If I do eat here again I will never order a salad! Unless they change to FRESH lettuce! How can a restaurant serve BAGGED salad!!! How???!!! Ewwwww!!!! The friends I was with today were just as disgusted as I was! I can go to dozens of other restaurants to get e FRESH yummy salad! So why come back to Rainbow Gardens! There simply is no reason why I should! I can go to the store and buy a bag of lettuce and make 5 salads for the price of one and it would taste the same (gross) as the one I ate here today. I have been coming here for years with my grandmother and family. This restaurant as a wonderful atmosphere with fresh food and wonderful staff. My absolute favorite is "THE FOUL PLAY" Turkey Avacado with melted swiss absolute perfection with a slice of raw onion and asking for the avocados to be sliced rather then mashed. You can never go wrong with a refreshing "Fresh Lime" soda to go along with your meal and I would recommend the pasta salad rather then chips. For desert I would recommend the Mormon Muffin and a slice of the Chocolate Decadent Cake. The Mormon muffins are fantastic with the honey butter and would highly recommend even if you are full and not in need of desert they make for a great breakfast item for the morning or late night snack. If you are wanting the enjoy the view of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains and Ben Lomond Peak I would suggest requesting to sit on the Patio. After enjoying your meal it is always fun to walk off some calories in the gift shops they literally have something for every one. My grandma always loved coming here and bringing us grandkids and I am sure I will keep coming here until i am able toi bring my grandchildren here has well... A++++++ read more

the gift shop is great, i've been going there for 35 years and it has never failed to be fun. they have a bit of everything for everyone. i look forward to stopping there anytime i'm in ogden. the restaurant looks inviting and has a great atmosphere. i love the decor. but, the food is awful. pretty pricey for the quality of food. i have tried eating there several times over the years thinking that maybe next time will be better. but, i've tried it for the last time. the floors are filthy. i don't think the corners have been swept, let alone mopped since they opened. the bathrooms filthy. the sandwiches were okay, but all of the fruits and veges tasted old. (yes, every time). the crab tastes really old and fishy. the fruits mediocre. you can get a much fresher and tastier salad at wendys! the fresh lemonaides and lime squeezes were good. they should either turn this place into a little cafe, maybe specializing in a couple of good food choices they can handle or buy a better, fresher quality food, instead of trying to fix a full menu. maybe get a new manager or chef. the waiter was very nice and friendly though! read more
