I now know why Andrew was booked for nearly two months out! I have a built-in electric smoker (vs gas grill). I originally asked another company to perform the cleaning service but they declined indicating smokers are too hard too clean and/or can easily break. Made zero sense to me. My friend gave me the contact for Grill Dudes. I talked to Andrew, and he showed up shortly. He had a look at the grill, and apparently the only problem was that it wasn't hooked up properly to the gas tank! I was quoted almost $900.00 from bbq pro's. They wanted to replace my lighting because they did not work. They wanted to replace parts that didn't need replacing! I THEN CALLED THE GRILL DUDES. I did not get my grill cleaned today but Andrew was honest in his assessment of my grill and recommended I just get a new grill as opposed to cleaning it and get rid of it in a couple months. Had an issue with either too little or too much fire coming through on my BBQ and Andy came by to take a look. He arrived when he said he would and tested it thoroughly. He was VERY honest and even stated he would purchase a part that should fix it, if it didn't, he would return it and not charge me anything. He did just that. Andrew did a great job cleaning our BBQ. It is a 15 year old Grand Turbo that had never been professional cleaned. I did a basic cleaning about 4 years ago, but no where near the job Andrew performed. He took about 2 hours and put paper down to protect the bar. When he finished there was not a hint he had been cleaning; both the bar and the concrete where as he found them. Andrew even polished our other stainless steel drawers and doors. Well done. Andrew did a great job cleaning my ~25 year old Weber grill this morning. He was very honest, courteous, and professional, actually charging me less than what was originally quoted as a flat rate due to my grill not needing a ton of work. He did recommend I replace the flame tamers (which were disintegrating) and the grates (which were just really old), and even called Weber direct for me since they don't make those particular parts anymore. He walked me through exactly what he would do and pointed out why my grill was flaring up, and left everything looking as new as it could possibly be. A while back I had done a web search for BBQ cleaners in my area of the OC. Four came up. I called all four. two never returned my call. One would not give me a quote over the phone (actually tried to talk me out of using them). And the fourth Grill Dudes gave me a quote over the phone and agreed to come out. Andrew came to clean my BGE and install a new gasket. He contacted me in advance of coming out to confirm date and time. He also called about an hour before to confirm again.
