Antique old world atmosphere is quaint, clean and well cared for. Service is friendly. You really go to this pretty expensive restaurant for the experience of cooking your own steak . Not sure how that's better than my Traeger grill at home. I guess some people do not have a grill at home. I enjoyed a large ribeye steak. They serve all their meats at the grill with all you can eat baked potatoes or baked beans. Today they also had local fresh sweet corn that was quite delicious. It was an interesting experience. stopped in last day for dinner. Quickly, I'm out on the patio and greeted by our server. We ordered a Moscow mule and a beer to start. We typically get brussels sprouts for the step we wanted to try spinach dip. The little flatbread pieces with they were definitely delicious. Typically, in the past, I've ordered a micro sale and they took that off their menu this summer. Decided to try something new and order the Burrata Flatbread - that was a mistake. The chewy in the pesto tasted canned. Our server never once came back and checked on us and when he did I told him about the pizza with no response. My husband prime melt, it was delicious and I ended up eating half for my dinner! The waffle fries were even seasoned very good. I was definitely disappointed with my food and the price of the. Dinner at the Rock Bottom. I love the atmosphere of the basement restaurant. With the stones and the cozy fireplace. On this day, 3 other tables were occupied. Seated quickly. My most favorite options are no longer in the menu (combo platter of chicken strips and fish and the seafood dip) settled with spinach and artichoke dip. Tasty. Ordered pasta bake with chicken and a chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Both tasted good and came out as expected. The salad that came with the pasta bake was a great size for a side salad. Service was slow. Waited a while for checks and to go boxes. Probably would still be waiting on that drink refill. read more

Didn't know you had to grill your own meat if you do the grill or chop house menu, whatever it was. That wasn't the issue though just something to be aware of. There were very very few options on that menu so that was rough. Other than that, after you grill your meat with the same tongs everyone uses, you grab Texas toast out of a bag everyone's hands have been in and then their sides were a big vat of canned baked beans, onions that only some of them are cooked, and then baked potatoes in tin foil. The waiter was slow with drinks and he watered down my lemonade the first time for some reason because the water tastes horrible so it was pretty obvious there was a good deal of water in it. Then the refill tasted like normal Minute Maid so that was good. Enough at least. It was kind of dark in there too but it was more fun to just sit there than to eat. I was really hungry when I left and really pissed because it was super expensive on top of it. Do not recommend. 0/10 stars. read more

Second, the decor was a little dated which I can usually look past if the food is excellent. The food was good and our service was very good. Absolutely a fun dinner experience! This was obviously the place to go for dinner in the area since it was packed. Though, we didn't have to wait long to get a table. The waitress explained our choice to either choose off of the menu, grill our own meats, or have a chef grill our meats. Since it sounded like a ton of fun and I love to cook, grilling our own was an easy choice. We were directed into the grill area and got to choose our own meats from the butcher section. There was so much that looked good but we opted for the New York Strip and the shrimp. They handed us our meats on a platter and we were directed to a huge grill area and a small section just for us to cook. There were tons of seasonings or topping like mushrooms, baked beans, grilled onions, Texas toast, butters, and spices. The grill attendant showed us the hot spots and it was up to us to cook as we saw fit. It was so much fun to do this and watch dozens of others do the same. I've been to the Grill House twice, both during the summer of 2021. I'm torn on how to review it. My first time there was a really fun experience. We went for a birthday party and there were 13 or 14 of us. We sat outside in the bar area and had a good time. The food and service was good, but they were out of a lot of items and some of my friends had to keep selecting another protein to grill. It was a new experience for me, but it was one that I enjoyed. The second time I came, the outdoor dining was closed. I believe I heard this was due to a staff shortage issue. We were seated inside in the front room against the windows and had another large party.. 10 or so of us. Everything was in stock and available, but it was SOOO HOT inside that we were all miserable. Going to the Grill Room to cook our food was like torture after sitting in the heat for so long. Ice was melting from our drinks faster than we could drink it. There was no air flow, no air conditioning, and nothing that any of us could do about it. If we weren't there celebrating another birthday, I would not have stayed. We mentioned something to our server about the heat and he shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal. There was no way I was going to be able to eat a steak in the heat, so I opt'd for the tuna instead. I did enjoy the tuna and the fresh (and local) corn on the cob was also a really nice treat. The rest I can't remember though because I'm pretty sure I left with heat exhaustion. I'm giving three stars. 4 for the food and the overall experience and 2 because I felt like I was being forced to eat inside a sauna. read more

So we sat in this supposedly haunted restaurant . Be sure to ask for both menus it could cost you $400 or $165 for a table of 6. The filet mignon was excellent it it was also $38 bucks for 8 ounces. It melts in your mouth . The breaded perch dinner for $16.00 was sliced too small which made it too dry. They filled the plates up with chips so it looks like a lot! Some one had the French beef dip and said it was very good! I had a small bowl of very delicious French onion soup ! The chicken wrap was very good too. Service was fair. Had to ask for water. Ordered takeout here a couple weeks ago and am just getting around to review. They were having a Mexican special and we ordered one beef and one chicken wet burrito. It came with chips, rice, and toppings. Obviously the quarantine days have changed how we order and enjoy our food. It would have been great to dine inside, but the food was nothing short of delicious. The tortillas are seasoned and give a nice well rounded flavor to the burrito. Portion sizes are more than generous, especially being a pick up order. I also ordered two bottles of wine. One was the house Pinot Noir and the other was the house Cabernet. The Pinot was my personal favorite, with a smooth full body flavor and delicate mouth feel. The Cabernet was good also, has a nice kick right on the front with a smooth finish. Disappointed in the policy this restaurant maintains. We ordered 2 Sangria's that were NOT good. We were a party of 4 and not one of us was willing to drink these. In my dining experiences at other places our drinks would have been exchanged for something else with no questions asked. That was not the case here. We were charged for the sangrias we did not drink and our replacement drinks. When asked about it the manager quoted policy. Not interested in your policy. We came bearing a gift certificate, so we were able to order and sample a great deal more food than we usually would. I've heard great things about this place and it certainly was delicious -with exception of their chicken finger and fish basket and one of the desserts. We ordered: *Hot crab dip ($11) -very healthy portion, rich and delish served with pita points and tortilla chips *Ribeye Steak -($20) served with a side salad, vegetables, baked potato, and roll. This was also a generous portion. The steak was beautifully seasoned and grilled. *Fish and chicken strip basket ($9.50) -very generic freezer to fryer chicken strips and fish. It didn't taste awful, but it was a disappointment because I'd expect an establishment of this caliber to have produced homemade. Frankly, I've had better and cheaper at the bar. *Taco pizza ($18.75) -good! We ordered it to go and it tasted like a large burrito -it was perfect for rehearing snacks/meals *Peanut butter pie ($5) -very good! Rich and sweet, covered in lots of whipped cream and peanut butter powdered sugar (I don't know how they made it but it was delish) *Death by chocolate ($8) -this guy was a bit more expensive than the PB pie and I'm not sure why. It wasn't as sweet as other "DBC" desserts and I didn't personally care for it very much (and I don't discriminate against sweets). It was a chocolate pudding and whipped cream ensemble. *Beer ($5/pint) -cool selection of micros. I ordered a hefeweizen from Frankenmuth Takeaway -good food at decent prices compared to other restaurants serving the same items. Pass on the fish/chicken baskets and death by chocolate dessert. Aleya was our server..19 years old. She was GREAT! They were very short staffed and I never saw a manager working the floor. We ordered the scraps as an appetizer and they were super bland. Hubbie ordered the NY strip medium well and I the Ribeye medium. His came out, rare...120 at best, mine came out super thin and like shoe leather. We sent em back. I ordered a NY strip instead of that Ribeye. His came back Medium Rare instead of Medium well, but he ate it. My NY strip came in rare, when I ordered medium. I don't send things back 3 times....so I told poor Aleya that I'd skip the entree....she must have gone back and told her manager, who sent this poor thing out to me to let me know that they wouldn't take it off the bill. What a giant jerk....to do that to a kid...come out of your office and apologize for the back of the house NOT being able to cook steak using a thermometer. This place is NOT a steak house and apparently they have lousy management. We tipped the heck outta Aleya.. to make up for the lack of management. The food sucks here and they can't cook a steak. That does include 3 alcoholic beverages, but that's just too much! I can't say that I'd recommend this to anyone. The heat in the place was also miserable, the waitress didn't bother to explain how things worked with grilling, she came up to take our order, we had to ask.
