Pretty solid joint for a nice snack off the 395. I'm preparing for a massive hike next month, so I got something relatively healthy hehe. The blackened chicken sandwich had a really good flavor to it, and was pretty delicious. I got it with the side salad and it was mediocre. The french fries here are really good though, stole some from my partner's plate. He had the burger, which he thought was just ok as well. Service was incredibly friendly, and this place is very dog friendly. I have a small Chihuahua who I considered to be my child, and they really treated him like a human, which I appreciate.

Fantastic cheeseburger and crispy fries! Cooked to order and hot out of the kitchen! Cold beer too!

We completed Whitney and was heading home. We stopped here for a quick to go dinner on our way out of town. Pretty solid salads and sandwiches. The staff were friendly. Please come and create your own adventure.

Food is excellent. They have vegetarian options. Clean and tastefully decorated. The waiter was very friendly and this seems to be the nature of everyone at Lone Pine.

The entry is a bit confusing (one door for entry around the building from the parking lot, and one set of doors that lead to the patio for exit?) but once inside it was quiet, clean and cool. Sit wherever you want is nice, so we sat by the window. A friendly lady greeted us, took our drink order and returned shortly for our food order. The menu is sparse, mostly sandwiches and lunch options, with some salad options as well. We ordered a BLT & a patty melt, fries, onion rings & two waters. The BLT had thick cut bacon, and some of the freshest lettuce & tomatoes I've ever had. The patty melt was bland and flavorless. The fries and onion rings were good. For sandwiches, it's a little on the pricy side at $56 for two, also considering we had water to drink, so with all the other options in town, I can't say I would recommend this place to anyone passing through, but it wasn't bad. We got a cookie to go and it was super dry so maybe skip those if you go here.

What a great experience at The Grill! The staff was amazing, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Our waitresses, Jerry and Carlotta, were so friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was hot, fresh, and came out quickly. Everything tasted great and you could tell it was made with care. The inside was clean and super cute decor! If we ever come through town again, we'll absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

Really good service, good view of the mountains, food was good I got the jalapeño burger with onion rings. 100% recommend the cheese cake, you can tell it's home made

The Grill is the spot to go to for some yummy hooot food. They don't call this place "The Grill" for nothing. I was in town for a camping trip and my trusted Yelp App listed this local restaurant as one of the options for lunch. With the high ratings, I couldn't pass up on this foodie experience. Our waitress, Jerry, was FANTASTIC! She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the California Burgers and let me tell ya'll...sooo hot and juuuicy...perfectly cooked and seasoned. The onion rings and coleslaw were both delish. I highly recommend The Grill. It was welcoming with a laidback home-like atmosphere. The table service was tippity top of top notch :-)

Very family friendly. The wait staff was very nice. The food was great. I had a BLT and the bacon was awesome.

A fine place for delicious food and great service. Unfortunately I didn't get the names of my lady server, the chef, and the busboy (the chef's identical twin brother) though all contributed to a wonderful meal for an extremely weary traveler who had just traversed Death Valley.

This is a great place! The food is very good, lots of choices and so fresh. It's a very relaxed place to chill out whether you are on a long drive or hanging out in Lone Pine! Thank you Bobby for the great service and for your smile and relaxed attitude. We will be back :) I need a better photo next time!

Short: A fantastic dinner spot in the heart of Lone Pine--friendly service, tasty food, and a great selection of homemade desserts! Long: Lone Pine has some excellent dining options, and The Grill is definitely one of them. I had the California burger, which was packed with flavor, and the homemade fries were a perfect side. For dessert, the homemade cheesecake with berries was rich and delicious. The service was warm and welcoming, and our waiter had a great sense of humor. A great place to relax and enjoy a sit-down meal!

She came back and said in fact they don't serve Margarita's. She said she had no idea, and that she didn't even live in the area. What does where she lives have anything to do with anything? I don't want to be mean, but ?? I ordered the 1/2 rack of these "Famous Ribs." My hubby the Flat Iron steak. We asked for salads as the choice instead of soup. We wait and wait...starving after having hiked all over the Alabama Hills. It is customary to get the salad ahead of time, but this young lady was doing other things. Suddenly after 15 min. we got our meals with no salad. She was getting ready to walk away when I asked about the salads. She went and got them not really concerned about it, and was not really understanding. So onto these ribs! I'm traumatized by these things that were so overcooked and dry. What on earth was done to these things? It seems they were boiled, then frozen, then defrosted, and microwaved? Who knows!! I do know this. I have been making ribs for a long time. For the love of God you don't need to kill the pig 15 times! My hubbies Flat Iron Steak was alright. Not completely hideous. Needless to say, there are not many choices in the Lone Pine. This is not a choice I would ever venture to again if in the area.

The staff was kind, and the building was cool, but that's where the charm ended. We walked into an obese pit bull literally sitting on a chair at the table, right next to where we got seated. There had been a sign out front saying there was a "service dog" inside with a picture of the obese pit bull in question, so I guess that's helpful but calling it a service dog really stretches credulity. I'm not sure what service the dog is providing for the owner who was not present until the end of our meal, at which point he paraded the dog around the tiny restaurant to greet customers. Another customer came in with a dog, too - apparently this tiny restaurant is teetering into becoming a dog park. I love dogs. I work with animals for a living. I am a dog owner and bring my dog everywhere I can, within reason and with the explicit permission of the businesses we visit. I do NOT appreciate a poorly-behaved pit bull, kept docile by virtue of his excessive weight, slobbering on a dining table. I do not appreciate dog dander in my food. But mostly, being in a family that used actual guide dogs - as in, dogs that were specifically bred and trained for YEARS by experienced professionals to assist their visually impaired handlers all day, completely ignore food and people that try to interact with them, and to tuck themselves quietly at their handler's feet at a restaurant, I'm put off by "service dogs" just moseying around a restaurant or sitting at a table with diners. It really does seem like this dog's main purpose is to hang out and be a restaurant mascot, which sure sounds like a health code violation. Dog dander aside, the food was basically on par with what you might order at any American-style Chinese restaurant. The orange chicken had a strong orange peel flavor, so it stood out. The rice was dry. I didn't notice anything unique about the soy sauce. The other items we ordered were unremarkable.

Whitney. We had looked at the menu online and had an idea of what we wanted in advance, nope. Out of: the elk, all lamb, trout, and the filets- we ended up with two orders of top sirloin. I had mine with the mushrooms and my husband had his with the green peppercorn sauce- I guess you can still have the sauces even though the meat is gone. The steaks were ok, I definitely did not get what I wanted and probably wouldn't have stayed if I had known just how bad it would be. I did see others walk out, and people that ordered after me were not happy. There's a really easy way to fix this- daily paper menus with what you actually have. Maybe even update them as things run out. Just cross stuff out. Let the guests know up front. If I had known how limited it was, I wouldn't have ordered a drink and eaten the tasty bread roll. Service wasn't that great either- the person that brought the drinks was very friendly, but otherwise our waiter was pretty inattentive. I had the Bees Knees which I enjoyed, I ordered a glass of red to go with the steak, and that didn't show up till I was well into my meal. Weirdly, I would give this place another shot, but would order before even sitting down. That way when I am told that all I can get is a steak that I'm not that interested in, I'll go somewhere else. Or eat at the bar, have a decent drink and leave when you see how dire the menu selection is.

We had to flag her down for everything from ordering, to getting silverware, to actually checking out. She never once checked in with us to see how our food was or offer us refills on drinks. We also ordered a well drink from the bar and she automatically upcharged us without asking. As a former bartender I am all for upselling, but don't charge a customer for greygoose when they ordered a well vodka. Once we were finished eating we sat there for a good 15 minutes as she was outside on the patio smoking and chatting with her friends. When she did check us out she seemed bothered by us even being there and never once said thank you. The food itself was ok, we had two of their sandwiches with onion rings and fries.
