20 OZ ribeye
Georgia D.

This. Place. Hits. I mean, and hard! Constantly driving back and forth from the Valley means that there's some options available for me. I live in small Eagle River so the options are limited with a few decent choices. Wasilla has some excellent little places if you keep your eyes peeled and know where to look. This restaurant is attached to the Grandview Inn and Suites. Fried pickles as an appetizer dipped in ranch was just salty enough to cure my craving and they were great. It's a pretty big order so perfect for sharing. The Mt Redoubt Lava burger has the proper amount of fire I think for people that don't enjoy things 5 * and up spicy. I snuck some fried jalapeños and I could probably eat a bowl of those alone. They were amazing! As a carnivore myself, I would have been remiss if I didn't get the 20 oz ribeye. I got fried potatoes and the brussels sprouts with bacon. This steak tapped me out. It was 3 meals in one for me. For $50 it was a great value. This place is a must do for me every chance I can get.

Pictures doesn't do this place justice. Everything is so nice and roomy. A lot of things to do besides eating and drinking. There's pool tables, a ton of dart boards just about everywhere, pull tabs, and I'm sure there's karaoke or other stuff..I just didn't ask or look further into it. Everything is updated and soo clean. The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and didn't hover but made sure we were always taken cared of. The drink prices are more than reasonable. They have a great variety of different beers, shots and specialty drinks. Even Mocktails for those non drinkers. Families with minors are allowed to dine till 9pm only if accompanied by an adult. At 10pm no underage allowed at any time. I wish I took a picture of the sign, would've saved me the trouble. Oh well..just an FYI. The food is really good. We ordered the 10oz New York steak and everything was cooked just right. Their homemade compote butter that they put on the steaks is...incredible. The Brussel sprouts was really really good. The roasted potatoes were kind of bland but the beer cheese Mac and cheese was super delish! We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms for appetizers and it was...soooo good and soooo cheesy and sooo yummy. The portion size is very generous and you definitely get your money worth. Drinks are done perfectly. I ordered the old fashion and it was prepared the best I've ever had anywhere. The mojito had a ton of mint leaves which made it taste like zen tea lol. It wasn't too bad though. I got pretty buzzed off of the old fashion, so didn't order anything after..maybe another time. Overall..a very surprising experience and definitely worth it. We will be back and I hope you get to experience this place..even just to hang out with friends and have a good time. P.S: Great for watching sports with the buddies. There's a good amount of TV's posted around every corner.

Had the 20oz ribeye. Very good, cooked correctly. Extra for garlic bread. Hungarian mushroom soup was perfect. Potato skins appetizer was good. I'd come back.

Alaskan philly with fries

The food wasn't fast but holy smokes was it good! Worth the wait. I had the Alaskan philly and I will definitely be back to try another variation!

Black Bean patty w/Swiss , mushrooms & bacon! Yum! Ordered Calamari as well, delicious dipping sauces!

EXCELLENT! Food was delicious! Service was excellent! My husband is on a restricted diet & it limits restaurants with fresh food options & not precooked with a lot of fillers. We scored at The Grill! Seared Ahi Tuna salad! Sweet Potato fries & I love a Black Bean Burger! Both were delicious!

This is the grills lettuce that they serve to the public.

Menu needs updated. They didn't have anything we went in looking for. The real kicker was that the website made it sound new.

I go there strictly for the pretzels and cheese, but you wouldn't hurt my feelings if you offered me some of their chicken wings

Not all who wander are lost…read more This is the best lil gem hidden on main st. Its a older possibly historic building. That being said, spots are limited. However, they also have carry out! I've been here quite a few times as this turns out to be my one of my family's favorite spots ( I was having lunch with my son and mother, then my older brother walks in, so family lunch together.) My favorite has to be the pioneer sandwich! Its big enough for 2 to split so you can save room for their soup! I had a few different ones since I moved here to big lake, and each soup special is better then the next, I enjoyed the lemon/chicken/orzo/spinach soup yesterday... and im still thinking about it today... After all this food, since it was so light and fresh, i didn't even need a nap after. And with the breakfast sandwich's, burritos, & wonderful coffee in Wasilla! This place is becoming a needed daily experience. Your staff makes the experience of waiting like a vulture for a table so delightful. They are all doing such a great job for your business. Thank you wandering cafe!

It's a great place to stop for your morning coffee and also to get breakfast or lunch! The staff is super friendly and the service is very fast! We got the breakfast burrito and the avocado grilled cheese. Both were so cheesy and super yummy! I wish the grilled cheese had a sausage or turkey option instead of just bacon as it would make it 10x better! (I'm not a fan of pork meat) but even with it, it was delicious! I live right down the street so I'll definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu!

Came here with my husband and dad for lunch, it's not a busy place so it's quiet and you can hear…read morethe music they play. The interior design could use some work except the little fireplace nook they have is super cute. They had a Christmas tree that was only half lit and decorated which was weird. We got coffees; two sunrise sandwiches and the potato soup in a bread bowl. Both the sandwiches were very good! Definitely a great spot for them and with any of the bread choices, which there are MANY! I'll absolutely come back for them! The bread bowl is just white bread which was disappointing as I thought they'd have a sourdough option. The bread was super doughy inside as if the soup had been sitting in it for hours or it wasn't baked all the way through and it tasted like it was missing salt maybe. The soup was fine, nothing great but not bad. Similar to what you may buy canned at the grocery store. The coffee didn't come out until we were about ready to leave which I expected as it seemed they had barely 2-3 people working at one time. If they did more bread bowl options, experimented with the soup flavors more (or start making it homemade if they buy it commercially), and redecorated, I'd 100% give this place 5 stars. Regardless, great place for sandwiches and coffee and I'll totally be back!

I discovered which I'm a big snob around the perfect Cinnamon roll I've ever had, which is a raspberry cinnamon roll. They also had a pumpkin one which I like but the raspberry is a cuddy above the rest. I think the best part about going in here is I feel like the staff treat us like family. A few people that stand out consistently are::Maddie, Rebecca, hope and juniper Jessica And the owner Don, of course. Thank you guys for always being consummate professionals and creating Joy whenever I come in and bringing a smile to my face in big ways and small. And it's not just about the incredibly yummy decadent flagrant yet down home raspberry cinnamon roll, but also your raspberry swirl bread is to die for as well as your blueberry crumble. Oh, and the Apple bread as well. I'm such a fan that my niece Kat bought me a gift certificate for Christmas and I can't wait to use it :)

We were sat immediately at about 5 ish on a Thursday. We looked over the menu and the hostess brought water for us right away. The waitress came over for drink and food orders. We ordered the regular ribeye and sodas. My husband ordered a salad and it came out about 10 min before the meal. The steaks with vegetables and mashed potato and gravy (I had these, my husband got the salad instead) and all items were sizzling hot and very good! The steaks were both cooked correctly (medium and medium rare) with good seasoning and flavor. The vegetables (broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower) were tasty, hot, and slightly crunchy (not mushy)! The potatoes and gravy were very good-tasted homemade! I also had these homemade root beer which was very good and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was moist, tasty, had cinnamon, and a rum icing - very, very good! All the servers were very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. We would definitely eat here again! Glad we stumbled on this little gem!
