Save your money and your palette. The food was a disgrace to this lovely resort. The best plate was the Steak but it was cooked Medium Rare when we asked for it medium. The burgers were not worth the money and too salty. The ranch was disgusting. Now on to the most unappetizing thing I have ever consumed: the soy sauce risotto. I have never seen such a disgrace to risotto. It can only describe it as what could be found at the bottom of a hibachi take out container. I wouldn't even bring this home to a dog. Go to the Trails End instead, which has lovely food and the kindest waitstaff ever! read more

Decent place to grab a bite for dinner if you're staying at the resort. Service was pretty standard. They have indoor and outdoor seating, with heaters outside for the cooler evenings. Took advantage of the $25 prime rib Sunday special, which was a great deal for 16oz of prime rib, mashed potatoes, and broccoli rabe. The prime rib was cooked well, but I wish the au just was served on the side as it was on the saltier side. Also shared the steak house salad, which I found to be okay. The filet mignon slices were cooked well done, so were a little tough. I surprisingly enjoyed the watercress and also thought the biscuit croutons were a nice touch to the salad. I tried some of smoked seaboard baby back ribs, which was huge. You got a whole rack of ribs with fries (didn't taste the tijan) and tomato/cucumber salad all for $32. The ribs themselves were okay. Didn't fall off the bone like I wanted/expected likely because they were cooked too fast. Also found the blackberry bourbon BBQ sauce to be more on the sweet side - I'd ask for this on the side next time. As far as casual dining goes, I give it 3.5 stars. Just above average. Pros: service was great. Most dishes were tasty and looked great. Good selection of beers and wines. Cons: the seats were dirty and had grease marks. Menus had clearly visible grease stains which could've been easily wiped off before coming to us. The shrimp in my wife's Caesar salad with shrimp was very salty. And she deliberately didn't order it blackened, which would've been even saltier. Three of us ordered grilled tuna and all three were extremely salty. I didn't realize it at first. My first two bites of it literally left my tongue numb. My friends also complained about theirs. I then scraped off the top and bottom surfaces with a butter knife and it became much better. My friends sliced off the top and bottom of their tuna and left themselves with much smaller portions for dinner. LOL. I would still eat here, of course, because there really is no other option for casual dining when skiing here. We'll just have to be careful about what to order, and to make sure to tell them to hold back on the salt! read more

If I could give this place less than one star I would. I think this is one of the worst restaurants in the Lehigh Valley. One are the only reasons they stay alive is because of the tourists. And maybe because there are a lot of people out there that have zero pallet, and only go out for maybe a wedding reception or something else. The ambience is pretty nice, I'll give them that. Voted as having the best crab cakes, the Grille at Bear Creek peaked my interest. Everyone at our table ordered the Surf and Turf. We all agreed the filets were cooked perfectly. The crab cakes; however, were made with a lot of filler. But as far as local ski resorts go, this restaurant offers a solid menu with friendly service. read more

We love date night here every time we take a mini vacay! My filet came out well done and shrimp add on was way over salted so I asked the bartender, who had us as a table, to remedy it, and I was super polite... he was extremely annoyed and definitely on edge, which was an uncomfortable encounter. However the manager made me a new one done to perfection, comped it, through in a complimentary glass of champagne and exceptionally delicious strawberry baked desert for us to share!!! So all in all it was a great romantic meal together and we really appreciated it! We came to Bear Creek for night skiing and stopped by The Grille, which is part of the resort, for some dinner. We ordered Short Ribs & Pirogies as our starter. The short ribs were very tender and fell apart and went well with the pirogies and poutine. Very yummy. For our entrées, we ordered a Salmon BLT and Beer Battered Avocado Tacos (from the starter menu). The Salmon BLT was good and very hearty. Well seasoned and a good amount of creamy sauce that went well with some beer. The Avocado Tacos is exactly what it sounds like and the avocados were well fried and crispy, which went well with the soft shells. For dessert, we got the Dark Chocolate Lava Cake with Berry Compote. Very decadent and chocolatey--only complaint is that the chocolate lava wasn't as gooey as I was hoping. There was a decent variety on the menu, and the prices were relatively reasonable for a ski lodge. Good service, and not too long of a wait. Overall a good post-ski meal if not a bit heavy. read more

Walking into the place was pleasant. We really only came for the view knowing the food would be subpar. Our presumptions were accurate, but the service would prove to be even worse. Approaching the table there was a small puddle covering the paper menu. I noticed it first & moved to pull the opposite chair for my companion. When the server approached we motioned towards it, & I anxiously blurted something out. Tattooed neck & all, her cantankerous attitude emerged, then persisted & escalated throughout the night. The sparkling water, arriving with soggy lemons, the ends no less, was poured for two even though specifically it was ordered for one. She kept both glasses on the table. At this point, there are three glasses of water, two cocktails, and seven plates in front of us. The soups come within 90 seconds. The edamame & calamari come 10-12 minutes later. And then the stale bread, crumbling in our hands. We kept giving her the benefit of the doubt; she just may be having a bad night, I kept thinking. Nope, sHe really does hate her job, it obvious that she resented us, & made sure we knew it. An eternity after the check was paid, we ask for the manager to stop by, not to the server mind you, but to a busboy who wants to take the check. I don't let him because we need an itemized receipt for our records & the server failed to return it with the CC copies. Kim, the 'manager' strolls on over. I kept giving her chance after chance to just say, 'you know what sir, you're absolutely right, the edamame shouldn't have come 10 minutes after your main course, or maybe, hey!, let me get you both a couple glasses of Prosecco as a consolation.' And of course we would have turned it away. But no, this person just says how she can't believe it, and how we must be mistaken. This is the first time in my life I gave zero gratuity. I felt so guilty about it, that I wrote in $5 but my fiancé laughed & said, 'that's even worse than zero.' I crossed that out, too. Feel free to call me. Spent Mother's Day at a special brunch here. Now, special occasions may not be the same as every day dining here. The place is a ski resort with hotel, restaurants and bars. The Grille is their main restaurant, downstairs. The decor is classic with natural stone and fireplaces. The Grille was much larger than I expected. For the Champagne brunch, it was a humungous buffet, with several stations. They had something for everyone. From breakfast foods to entree items to fruits and veggies to desserts. The wait staff was very attentive. Some of the food was very good and some was just average. My family's favorite was the stir-fry station. For an event like this, reservations are required. Other times, you might be able to book ahead on Open Table. My only 2 negatives were booking it and distance. Trying to reserve a table for this was not easy. We tried calling daily for weeks prior, with absolutely no one picking up the phone. Finally got a reservation, one late evening during their regular dinner service and someone actually answered the phone. The distance, from the parking lot to the restaurant inside is a really long walk. Then the distance from certain tables to the buffet tables was just as long. Most can handle that, but I no longer can. If walking long distances is an issue, have someone wheel you inside. The dining room itself is almost the size of a huge football field. There are elevators, so one doesn't have to take long stairs down or back up afterwards. Otherwise, it was quite pleasant and would recommend dining here. If you are staying over at Bear Creek I suggest hitting up the Grille at least once. Make a reservation!! Everyone staying at the hotel probably feels the same way, so be sure to call ahead (especially if you are staying over a weekend or holiday). It's a bit pricey, but because this is a resort restaurant it is definitely not surprising. Like the rest of the resort, the restaurant is rustic and cozy. Lots of wood paneling, brick fireplaces and views of the slopes right from your table. I went with a crock of french onion soup and the crab cake. The french onion soup was perfect, not overly salty and lots of melty cheese. Our waitress suggested the crab cake and I'm definitely not surprised that this is a hit here. The crab cake had no fillers and instead was just full of fresh and flavorful crab meat. The crab cake was absolutely enormous, and it was hard to finish more than half. We finished the meal with creme brulee and left stuffed and satisfied! I wouldn't hesitate to return if I was back at Bear Creek or just up in the area again. read more

Not being familiar with the place, it was confusing upon arrival to know where to even go in what building. There were one or two signs for parking but nothing to clearly direct you the actual entrance of the hotel. There were several weddings taking place which was nice to see. When I made my reservation it was for an outside table. Upon arrival we were directed to an indoor table when I asked I was told the deck was not available. It would have been nice to know this prior as we really wanted an outdoor dining experience. The waitstaff / hostess were very pleasant during the entire experience. The tables were all extremely sticky. Not necessarily food sticky but like buildup on the lacquer of the table sticky which was a honestly not appetizing. The paper me us stuck to the table as if glued in place. My partner's frosted glass for beer was actually dirty. The waitress apologized and offered to get another glass but he decided to drink his beer straight from the bottle at that point. The appetizer came quickly. The fried greenbeans were battered but crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The dipping sauce was good if not a bit thin. We both ordered the fish and chips. Theralwas ok, but not the quality we would have expected for the price. The meal portion was large. Three large portions of fish that were breaded/battered with what appeared to be panko with something else added. It had good crunch and adhered to the fish well but did little to add to the flavor. The french fries were standard bar food fries, limp and very salty. For the price $19 it was disappointing. Given that everything is trying to open up to pre-Covid operations, we will give them a try again later in the year possibly. read more

Please order the Jumbo Crab cake - I've ordered it several times in the past year and it's been consistently delicious. Huge pieces of crab held together by a savory and soft bread crumb (?) mix. It's the entree that most of the servers will recommend if seafood if you like it. I also ordered the French onion soup and wings at the suggestion of the hostess. It started out as a good night. My wife and I were going here for our 2 year anniversary. We were married at Bear Creek and went here last year for our 1 year anniversary. We wanted to start a tradition to go here every year, unfortunately after this experience we sadly will not be coming back and we will be looking for a different restaurant to start our anniversary tradition. We had a 5:30 reservation for Saturday November 9th. We were seated and forgotten for 20minutes. We felt like we were invisible to passing wait staff. No one gave us drinks or came over to take our order. I asked the hostess if our waiter would be with us soon, the manager came over and took our order instead. He didn't write anything down which was a little scary and may explain the dinner mess up. Our waiter came out 10 minutes later with our drinks and bread. Soon after we were given our salads. We finished our salad which was delicious and then our food came out 10 minutes later. My wife ordered the gnocchi and I ordered the salmon, but oops they gave me the chicken. I told the waiter and he went to put in a salmon order. He came out 5 minutes later with salmon, but it was raw. He went to put in another order, but by then my wife had finished her food, so I told them to cancel the order. The manager gave us his card and said he'd give us a free meal next time we come, but I don't think we'll be back there anytime soon. read more

I had reservations for Thanksgiving with my family of 6. We were seated in the bar, had to walk a good distance to the buffet. My husband asked why we weren't seated in the lovely dining room with all the other patrons and was told we didn't have enough people, that the dining room was only for large parties. The turkey, which should have been the star of the day, had several different verities, all dry!! Had to look for the gravy, the veggies were on a completely different table. Didn't start off good, we waited about 10 minutes at our table before we were acknowledged, however our waitress did apologize and gave us our first round of drinks on the house! After that everything was good, we ordered the cheese board and pork tacos for appetizers. The cheese board was just ok, typically I usually see some sort of sauce or mustard on the board but this had none. The pork tacos had good flavor and I enjoyed the radishes on them. For entrees my husband ordered the Ribeye which he fully enjoyed and I ordered the salmon which was awesome, I would definitely order it again. The resort itself deserves 4/5 stars. Restaurant is a 2.5/3. This was basically the only restaurant open for dinner. There's no other places to eat nearby. Hostess told us it would be an hour wait for dinner. That was it. We didn't want to wait that long. So we asked if we could eat by the bar. Felt like she should've posed that option. When we got to the bar table, a waitress saw us and asked if we'd like a table in the bar area. Turns out the bar has a dining area, with tables, benches, and seats. Had we known earlier we definitely would've taken the bar option sooner. Felt bad because there were people waiting hungrily who probably had no idea! This appears to be a hostess management problem. Our table/space was perfect. We even had a toddler with us and a high chair was accomodated. Wine was not great. We ordered the Apothetic red and there seemed to be residue inside. Taste got worst as you got to the bottom. Butter was cold for the bread. The appetizer calamari was good. Had a nice sweet and sour flavor, with mild spice. Caesar salad was fresh and crisp. My filet mignon was very tiny, but good. This probably won't fill up most people. Picture the size of a handball haha. My brother had the steak frites and it was horrible. Waiter was polite and nice. Definitely room for improvement. Especially if the prices are comparable to Manhattan restaurants. read more

What you expect for a lodge grill is what you get. Over priced options with little flair, but it fills the need after skiing for a few hours. What is nice about this place is there is a huge selection of food including burritos, hot dogs, ramen bowls, burgers, pizza, etc. The draft beer selection is limited to Bud light and yuengling lager. Seating is ample for a mid-week trip but limited on the weekends. If you bring your own food they request you use a different dining hall so as not to take up the space for paying customers. read more

We were here for the weekend for a family wedding and had dinner here on a Friday night. We had a large party of 8 during lobster week and they were able to accommodate a reservation last minute for us, which was really nice. We all ordered off of the Lobster week menu and were very happy with the food. It was a bit slow as far as service, but the place was packed with people waiting outside and they were moving along as fast as they could. Their drink prices were a little bit on the pricier side for wine but the food was fantastic and we all had a nice time. The restaurant is a bit loud and they are right next to the bar where there is live music playing most of the evening and into the night, so if this bothers you I would ask for a table closer to the slope side. read more

To charge what is approaching NYC prices for small town PA quality is a crime. They should be ashamed of themselves. The happy hour special wings were more than area restaurants regular price. My wife and I spent the night at this amazing resort. We decided to get an 8:00 pm reservation, for an appetizer I ordered the blue ridge pig finger sandwiches. I misread the menu and had cole slaw on my sandwich. I just wiped it off and the sandwiches were amazing. They were missing BBQ sauce which the menu stated would be on it but they didn't need it. For an entree I ordered a burger and made several modifications. Every single one was adhered to. Kudos to Molly our server for getting my burger right. It wasn't spectacular however it was a $14 burger and definitely worth the money. I couldn't finish it due to the size however it was good. The fires were also amazing. May venture somewhere local next time for dinner. The Jazz music was very good performed by accomplished musicians. read more

As was noted by other reviewers, the food here is amazing for the price. It's on my short list of places to take visitors to the Valley because (a) the food is great; (b) it's scenic; (c) we can all eat and drink very well and not break the bank. I recently took a party of five here - an appetizer for the table, entrees all around, drinks (multiple) for some - all for $152. Not bad at all. The kitchen is clearly run by a chef and not a run-of-the-mill restaurant manager. Menu items are creative, with a Southern flair. (Fish and chips, for example, have a harder "Southern-style" breading rather than the softer stuff I'm used to seeing.) Hit the specials list first - it's almost always worth it. A recent pork loin special was jaw-droppingly good. The restaurant does have an on-site garden, which produces quite a bit of the vegetation and spices used in the dishes. The bar itself is quite nice - beer selection is respectable, and the cocktail menu got the thumbs up from my resident experts. The interior has a nice lodge-y feel to it; if you're looking for cutting edge design, go elsewhere. Please note that I've only been here during the off-season - this place can get a bit crazy when the slopes are open. All in all, a great place for larger parties (reservations, please) and for a casual dinner. The place is really neat. The space is cool and view is stunning. It was raining when we went so the deck wasn't open but there was a woman playing guitar in the bar area. The service was friendly and accommodating. The appetizer dip trio was really good... large portion, even for the two of us to share. Unfortunately, the entrees were just "Meh". I had the crab cake and he had a filet. They weren't bad but they weren't great. Especially for $30+ per plate. We will likely go back for music, appetizers/drinks; maybe try a salad or sandwich. My friends and I went to Bear Creek for tubing. We were coming from Philly and wanted to spend a nice evening there, about 3-4 hours. First a nice dinner, then some tubing, and then a few drinks at the bar. The Grille was apparently understaffed. There were plenty of empty tables ready to go yet we had to wait 15-20 mins to get seated. That's fine. We ordered a burger, a salad, a soup, and a bottle of Pellegrino between the three of us. $50 My burger was ordered medium rare and it was a tad too pink and warm at best. The salad was just silly. It was four little piles of chopped vegetables and some lettuce with a bland dressing. The soup was warm, not hot but otherwise ok. The total was $50 with a standard tip included. Next to The Grille and in the same building is the basic ski lodge cafeteria. We walked through the cafeteria to get to The Grille for the purpose of having a finer dining experience. We didn't. For about 1/2 the cost we probably would have received the same food albeit not in the nicer setting of The Grille. We would have sent the food back but our tubing session was close to starting and we didn't have the time to wait. We wanted an all inclusive evening and the dining was a disappointing experience. We have not been to the Grille in years - used to be absolutely fantastic then lost its way a few years back. We finally made it back on 9/11/2021 and it was absolutely fantastic! Better than ever!
