The staff is rude and disrespectful and always holler and the men's staff is more disrespectful to the women and this was my first time coming to the spot and that will be my last if the supposed to be helping the community why is it hard to get it and feel not safe going there I have been a manager over 20 years and we like customers if you rude to customers what they do stop coming and I have a nonprofit organization and if you have the wrong people in there it will do down hill fast and they take more then you giving out I have seen them pack all the stuff in there car but when the community trying to get food the complain of you getting it how is that helping the community read more

This place is awesome!!!! They are helping so many people and so many families. Times are truly hard and everyone is experiencing hardships. The Grocery Spot is doing their part to combat food disparities. There are all kinds of food items here; fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, bottled water, bread, frozen foods, and sometimes pet items. They ask for donations, but if you are not able to donate you can still get free food. The only way they are able to operate is off of the donations they receive, so please keep that in mind if you go. You are able to come in with your bag and fill it up with whatever you can fit in it. They do ask you to leave once your bag is full to allow others to get food too. The volunteers are super nice and helpful. It is all run like a well oiled machine. You can be in and out in a matter of minutes. There is plenty of parking and even though the street is busy, they are ordering traffic to get you on your way. This new location is super spacious and clean. The food selection is more often than not 4 stars. Unfortunately, the customer service ranks at a 1. The staff is rude and unprofessional. They can be heard yelling and cursing at their customers and while the resources they provide are truly a blessing , the demeaning, hoop jumping, constantly changing policies for shopping makes the experience of going there a horrible one. I just had the worst experience at this free for ALL market. Tuesday mornings are for seniors 65 and older. My mother who is 65 wanted to go to this market because like everyone else is in need of help. Food stamps benefits for seniors are a joke and with rent and 3 growing children I can not supplement her needs all the time. Tuesday morning rolls around and I get up early to usher my kids off to school and get my mother and sister. As soon as we pull up we are greeted by A noisy neighbor and a fellow I presume is a volunteer. There was no good morning greeting it was just 'hey this is for 65 and older' and my mother proceeded to tell them both that she was 65. I open the trunk to get her wagon and chair out and the neighbor continued that we couldn't park there. Mind you there are signs posted that you cant park I was only preparing my mother to wait. I go park across the street and 2 more people proceeded to tell us that the market is opened to 65 and older patrons mind you there are signs posted on both sides of the street to explain the days. The neighbor took it upon herself to go inside the facility and get staff to help her harass us about my mother going in. my mom wanted to leave at that point but I wont let anyone bully us from her next meal. I asked the neighbor what was the issue and she bluntly said me!!! I do not know this woman never saw her a day in my life yet she is harassing us from getting food. Her yard was filled with boxes from the market and had the nerve to say we should go to the grocery store. I thought I was at the grocery store that could afford my mom with the necessary nutrition. One of the staff came to check on us because he saw the lady harassing us. then another guy came out and told us to wait in the car and I asked why? I've seen people wait in line before here and there is no sign that says we couldn't wait. I am so disgusted with the disposition of the staff member who obviously have a favorite patron. Needless to say we definitely left after not feeling welcomed, being harassed, being bullied, and being embarrassed by our economic hardship. This is just my experience I'm sure they have helped plenty of people in this food desert just not us. read more

I just want to say I think it's wonderful what they're doing. The concept and helping people who need to eat. Food is expensive, so this is needed for sure. I was on their TikTok though and I noticed the attitudes, talking about customers, etc. I don't care if the food is free, some of the stuff that was coming out of the promoter mouth was unnecessary. If you can afford a $20 t-shirt, spend your $20 at dollar tree freezer section and buy yourself some non-expired food and call it the day. But if you need to eat and can't afford it, definitely go here. To be clear I don't even live in this state, I just happened to see a TikTok and was stunned at the cursing and belittling certain customers. You yell at one person for not bringing a bag, but then tell someone else they can buy a bag for $5. I need black businesses to do better. read more

I will give this place a perfect star only if the employees were as professional. I was there Monday collecting food . The food I mostly give to my community. Anyway, the guy who carries the grocery's too the car was extremely rude, literally blocking my way to the entrance. Once I got groceries, I went inside the boxes outside, which I'm told we could help ourselves. Now! Going to the car my friend, who waited in the car saw me coming down the road with a heavy load, he instantly drove up to meet me 1/2 way. The gentleman who was put in charged yelled out to me, YOU KNOW THE RULES! NO CARwThis place is God sent The food is top of the line.
