It's located on Lookout Mountain, which has a ton of historic significance and we enjoyed learning more at the National Park. Rock City is across the street from the Inn and it was also interesting to stroll through. The Inn itself is quaint and cozy. The main building has a few guest rooms but most are in cottages dotted around the property. Ours was sweet and the bed comfy. Our only issue was the TV cable didn't work and wasn't repaired during our trip. The jetted tub also didn't have functioning hot water and it would've taken too long to fill using the shower, so it went unused. Both of these items would've been much welcomed following a very long travel day from the west coast. Overall very nice.

Only about a 20 minute drive to all of the Chattanooga sites. If you're on a budget, I certainly recommend! Limited breakfast: waffles, yogurt, muffins, cereal and the like. Staff weren't always at the front desk but never more than 20 minutes when the service bell was rung.

The balconies were so nice as they were very private; we stayed in room 1, which had probably the most privacy. So private that we felt we could leave our curtains and blinds open most of the time. It had beautiful views (though room 1's balcony view was partially blocked by trees, but there was still a beautiful view). We didn't use the hot tub since it's summer, but the pool was very nice and clean with a stunning mountaintop view as well. Breakfast was simple but well done. There's always coffee available. Every room is decorated beautifully. The balance of old and new was perfect - helpful technologies such as the Roku TV and touchpad locking door, but also a charming old building with clean and modern-yet-vintage decor. The Enchanted Forest soap, which is stocked in every bathroom, smells so good too! And best of all, it was affordable for us. We will be back for another getaway and are even looking into other Timberroot properties to try out in the area.

It looked quaint, which was what I was looking for. After scrolling through the pictures, and deciding on which room to book, we stayed there for one night. Upon arriving, I have to say, the pictures that were online did not do it justice! It was so cute! The accommodations in room nine was a king bed that had a couch that pulled out and made a sofa bed, if needed, and a nice big bathroom. The towels were very plush. We went in the pool, and the hot tub. We were also very shocked to find they had laundry machines that you could use, for $.25! And they provided the soap for you. Well, that would not have been a dealbreaker, but it was a really cute touch. They had a great little gathering room, that we didn't take advantage of, but we had looked at it and it was very nice. They also offered a breakfast the next morning. Unfortunately, we were not able to participate in that, since we had to get on the road to drive one hour for our Whitewater rafting trip. All in all, this was a great find! I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends, not to mention, we plan on coming back when we can stay longer. Loved this place!!

They offer free water, soda and ice all day. There were a few dining rooms and it seems a shame not to be seated there for breakfasts. But vouchers were provided for Rembrandts, which is about 150 yards away. We enjoyed sitting outdoors at Rembrandt's under the trellis (trying not to feed the finches that beg). Take a lovely little walk through alleyways, catch a glimpse of bakers doing pastry magic. Admire outdoor sculptures sprinkled throughout. Go towards the Bocce court and find more sculptures there as you admire the river view. Great location. Walk to Hunter Museum. Walk to the Walnut pedestrian bridge and watch the sunset. Would love to stay here again!

Recently traveled to Chattanooga for a multi day kayaking event. We came early to check out the…read morearea and after the event before we drove to the ATL airport. We were greeted by Will who was super friendly, helpful and informative. He gave us suggested hiking routes based on our parameters (scenic but not too hard since we had to kayak 30 miles the next day.) The facility is clean, I saw no evidence of spiderwebs or other bugs. I selected one of the bunks. I chose a lower bunk. The bunk has privacy curtains, a pillow, bed linen a light blanket and a towel. There is a shelf and two hooks plus a light and a fan. Two outlets are free for use for your electronic devices. The under bed storage is extensive. I was able to get a carryon roller bag, a 95 liter Osprey bag and a Tom Bihn backpack bag in the under the bed storage unit. They provide the lock and key. The under-bed storage is impressive. I fit a carry-on roller bag, a 95-liter Osprey pack, and a Tom Bihn backpack easily. They provide a lock and key for the storage unit. The kitchen is well-equipped, though not all guests follow the posted rules about cleanliness. The fridge had a bit of an odor and some old, leftover food from previous guests. The lobby is small but clean. There's no TV, but you can hang out outside, play cornhole, or relax by the fire pit. Parking is tight in the area, but The Crash Pad provides a pass for their small lot, which was a huge help. The Crash Pad is conviently located near many great resteraunts and bars. Our favorites were Blue Orleans and Ernest Chinese. I appreciated their sustainable choice to not to use paper towels or hand dryers. They use cloth hand towels in the restroom and kitchen which reduces waste and paper use. My only complaint was the hot water situation. After a long day outdoors, you just want a hot shower. There's a sign advising guests to wait or run other faucets to encourage the hot water flow, but when you're tired and smelly, you're not excited about leaving the shower stall to try to make it work. At the end of our trip, we ended up showering at the event's rented shower trailer at Camp Jordan after kayaking. Insider tips: Bring noise cancelling headphones (people snore and make other noises). Bring a short cast to hold your clothes and toiletries. The doors are locked 24/7. People will ask you to open the door for them (when they do not have a key) opening the door is your call. I didn't feel comfortable doing so after the staff left at 9 pm, they have a washer and dryer for a fee, and you can get extra towels and blankets if you need them. I really enjoyed my time in Chattanooga and at The Crash Pad. If you are from out of town and are adventuring in the area The CrashPad is an awesome, convenient an economical choice! .

I think the Crash pad has a good environment, but the communication from the management is extremely poor. And I think it's just absurd to not cater to people who live in Chattanooga (as a local Chattanooga business)
