Our friends told us we had to come here for wine tasting and, especially, to meet Collette. We learned about her history before purchasing this wine tasting business. She only sells wines whose companies donate to a nonprofit. How cool is that? You may bring in your own food to accompany the tasting. The last tasting included a wine slushy with an addition of CHOCOLATE wine! OMG!!! You will fall in LOVE! It is also dog friendly! For fun, she hires a DJ the 2nd Thursday of the month to get your groove on! She sells a lot of cute dog and wine merchandise. On your way to or from Yosemite, stop in for a tasting, a glass, or bottles of delicious wine. NOTE: as an Elite Yelper, I would LOVE for us to have an event here! There is plenty of room and Collette would, gladly, welcome us!

I discovered this gem driving North of 41 through the cute town of Oakhurst, aka South gate entrance to Yosemite. We were headed to Bass Lake and they had a wine tasting set up outside. We stopped by and were greeted by the super friendly owner Colette. Even though I grew up in the town, I have lived in LA for over 25 years and do not look like a local. Colette greeted me and my partner like we were old friends. We sampled delicious wine and enjoyed some great snacks. She even gave my dog water and treats. I go up to Oakhurst every month to visit my parents and now I make a point to stop by. I like to have a wine slushee or three while she picks out some wine for me. I love wine, but my knowledge doesn't go beyond Trader Joes. I give Colette a budget and she puts together a nice box for me. I love doing it that way and am always happy with what she gives me. She really knows her wines, and fancy beers. I highly recommend stopping by. She is dog friendly. I believe her hours are Thursday - Sunday but if you reach out to her she does private tastings. And the space is available to host small private events.

Such a fun and relaxing experience for both myself and my dog. I was hesitant to take my now 1-year-old dog to a wine bar but because we've both been cooped up pretty much since she was a pup, thought it was time. I met a friend who goes often with her dog but I was hesitant because she hasn't been around people much. To be honest she wasn't a huge fan of my friend's dog but Colette the owner was amazing and it didn't phase her at all. By closing time, she was eating cookies from her hand (which she normally won't do from strangers). It was a Sunday so it wasn't too busy - something someone may want to consider is the timing if your dog isn't very social. Whether you're local or from out of town, it's the perfect destination for pet lovers. Not only is it dog friendly but they have treats, decor, and fun pet-related gifts. It was so refreshing to get out to have a nice glass of wine and socialize. I'm looking forward to going to Yosemite Wine Tails again soon.

Amazing wines and wonderful person!

Collette was amazing and made our otherwise rainy day. She spent a lot of time with us and opened just for us. We would highly recommend stopping in to see her and try some amazing lical wines!

This is a good destintation stop on a "Mujer Day Out". Lorene loved the opportunity to sample three glasses of wines, the taco truck did not disappoint, the service was really good for a soft opening. Love the fact that its dog friendly too!!!!

All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. You could tell they treat every customer as if they're the only person in the winery, despite it being full. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

There was a band playing in their courtyard. The restaurant section had nice music playing. We will be coming back here again. My daughters, 10 n 8, did not want to leave and asked if we could stay longer. If you are in the area I highly recommend this jewel.

They were both super knowledgeable and made us feel extremely welcome. They even had a special printed menu for our table with a birthday message that made it that more special. That is exactly what happened during my recent dinner at Elderberry House. I visited with a group of four, and between us, we had two gluten-free diners and one vegetarian. After a quick heads-up the day before, the restaurant handled our needs with total ease. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and it was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with one of the best oysters I have ever had, followed by a beautiful tuna presentation. The kitchen even looked out for our gluten-free friends with a special version of their herbal-butter focaccia that was actually delicious. By the time the main courses arrived, I honestly could not decide if I liked my beef or my friend's snap pea risotto better; every single bite was pure perfection. The cocktails were another high point. My first drink was great, but after chatting with our server, Jordan, I decided to try the Last Word. It featured that hard-to-find green chartreuse, and I am a little annoyed to report that I have a new favorite cocktail that requires such a rare ingredient. The service is what really made the night so special. Jordan was so charismatic and helpful, making sure we were perfectly taken care of all evening. He was so good that I almost worried a second visit would not be the same without him, though the rest of the staff quickly put that fear to rest. Abby was so friendly and responsible for a truly unique but perfect-for-the-vibe playlist, and Chris the mixologist even stopped by to geek out about gin and cocktails with us. From the genuine care for our food sensitivities to the clever touch of the iPad check-in hidden in an elegant binder, it was a night for the books. I cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to bringing my family next!

Right now Falaf-a-lot is on site and was excellent. They have limited hours so make sure you plan for it, and they also host events throughout the week which means live music isn't always available. The ordering process is straightforward - you place your order at the front inside and then pick it up with a buzzer outside, which works perfectly for enjoying the outdoor setting. 5/5 Tomato Soup with Half Grilled Cheese was so hearty and exactly what you need after a long drive or before heading into the mountains. The soup was the best I have had in a while, with rich tomato flavor that was perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency. The grilled cheese was nothing too special on its own, but it paired so well with the soup, especially to warm you up in the cold. The combination is classic comfort food executed beautifully, and you really can't go wrong with this order. The Grove House is absolutely worth planning your Yosemite trip around! It's the perfect stop to fuel up before heading into the park or to unwind after a day of hiking. The combination of good food, welcoming atmosphere, and that small-town charm makes it a must-visit when you're in Mariposa. I would definitely recommend trying this place out - it seems like one of the best restaurants in the area on the way to Yosemite. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hoping to catch one of their live music nights!
