Fortunately, Carina noticed that I had been waiting for a bit and jumped over to the other register to help me. She was very friendly, helpful, and made the ordering process easy. I decided to go with the Big R Special, and the pizza was pretty much what you would expect from Pizza Factory--solid and enjoyable. The location itself is surprisingly large, with plenty of seating and a lot of potential. I'm also glad tourist season is starting to wind down a little, making it easier to enjoy local restaurants without having to park a mile away. Parking here isn't the greatest, but that's not really the restaurant's fault. Overall, a good experience. If the rest of the staff were as attentive and willing to jump in and help as Carina was, this place could really shine. I'd definitely come back. This server definitely deserves 5 stars! Now, the food. We heard good things about the burgers. We didn't have a burger however, we had a Jamwich? I'm not sure if that's the name but it's the fried chicken sandwich with various sauces. And we also tried the santa fe grilled chicken sandwich. I'm not sure of the name on this one either. The fried chicken sandwich apparently comes with two sauces. I only saw one and asked for it on the side because I like to taste the ingredients first. Well, it come with A LOT of the other sauce - maybe a Chipotle type sauce. I mean it was drowned in the sauce. The chicken was cooked in appearance but it ate like it needed more time in the fryer. It was kind of tough to the bite. If you're a chef or cook, you know what I'm talking about. The garlic fries are basic sidewinder fries dressed with parm and garlic. The other chicken sandwich was actually more enjoyable but the fries on that one were very very subpar. They do give large portions and the food looks good in appearance. We may come back to try the burgers since that's what was recommended.

Since it was our first time in Bass Lake, we needed a map from the hotel front desk to find our way. Please view my map photo since it is nestled in the middle of lodging. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed a 45-minute to 1-hour wait for a table. Perturbingly and hungrily, we waited. Our drink order included Modelo Michelada, Peach Lemonade, juice, and milk. Ordered the Ducey's Salad, a Philly Cheesesteak, a Carne Asada Protein Bowl, and 2 kids meals. Loved my protein bowl and peach lemonade. We enjoyed our food and dining experience, and we would love to return. Reiterating this review on Bar & Grill.

When we were seated we were then told that the kitchen was extremely backed up and it wouldn't be another 45+ minutes until they can even take our order. Thankfully they were able to take our drink order first so we got to enjoy the view. We were starving by the time we finally got our food, everything was fried since we decided to get their sampler platter and fried calamari. The food was pretty decent, I think I just got sick of it pretty fast because everything felt very heavy. I would probably only come back for the views next time I'm in the area, and get some drinks and light apps!

(5 of 5) Fish & Chips: Today's classic dish of the British Isles has a good crunch on the batter and a delicate buttery interior, but could use more seasoning. The potato chips were managed and fried well. A dash of salt put this over the top. The coleslaw had a different texture and taste that I'm not familiar with so I'm not a fan. (4 of 5) Mushroom Swiss Burger (1/3 pound ground beef patty seasoned, topped with mushroom, swiss cheese & grilled onion on a brioche bun): The warm, buttery sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese add a creamy texture that marries well with the savoury beef patty. Together, they created a smooth, velvety mouthfeel. (5 of 5) Lemonade: My lemonade was refreshing - with enough acidity and sweetness. (5 of 5) Ice-cream: Not just any ice-cream, but Thrifty Ice-Cream. I remember going to Thrifty just to get their ice-cream. The Hitching Post carries 12 flavours of Thrifty ice cream. We had the Chocolate and Butter Pecan in large waffle cones. Most ice-cream these days are overly sweet - and that's all you taste - just plain sugar. Somehow, Thrifty Ice Cream has a sweet, creamy, and deeply nostalgic taste, with a rich, dense texture. We're definitely going back for the ice-cream. (5 of 5) This eatery has had its ups-and-downs... but they trudged on. No matter what your day holds, you can be assured of their gracious service.

It's bar and grill fare that can be eaten there, taken to go, or marked up a few dollars as room service. Avoid the breakfast buffet at all costs. A proper entree costs a little less, and the quality is so much better. The buffet eggs are so dry, and they are the one thing we had here that was truly awful. Opt for a bowl of Steel-Cut Oatmeal if you want something simple. The Lox & Bagel is a bigger plate with plenty of smoked salmon. Order an extra bagel and the salmon will serve two. For lunch and dinner they make pretty good burgers, like the Jackalope Burger, which has my favorite toppings and the Steakhouse Burger which is meat-on-meat, topped with short rib and swiss. Kids loved the Spiral Noodles and Cheese and the pizza. The Philly Cheesesteak could be a little less dry, but the Pulled Pork Nachos are quite delightful and enough for two. Plenty of toppings, ample protein. Jack's Buffalo Wings are best with basketball and beer. Casarecci Short Rib Pasta is a dinner entree and not one I would recommend. The ragu is rather thin. Avoid the Design-a-Cupcake at all costs. The cupcakes crumble when you pick them up so they are impossible to frost, and all you get is frosting and sprinkles so there's not much designing to be done. Several hits, a few misses, expected for a resort restaurant meant to serve all meals and any and all people. It's not the kind of place I would repeatedly frequent in normal circumstances, but the experience was quite positive overall.

Sadly we came in between the lunch and dinner shift so despite and empty restaurant they wouldn't serve us in the nicer room. Our server was very kind! Ordered a kids burger, a kids pizza, the lettuce wraps, Caesar salad and BLT. Kids pizza came out wrong. Lettuce wraps were chunky pieces of chicken instead of the ground Asian version we imagined. Sauce was not good, no mint despite what the menu described. Sent back. The BLT was awful. On very dry over toasted ciabatta bread with avocado that went bad (my son looooves BLTs and avocado and truly this was not a good version). Caesar salad was great but very small portions for $17!!! Loved the homemade dressing however the Parmesan chip was stale and soft instead of crispy. The kids burger my daughter ordered was edible, but again, absolutely not worth the price. Veggies served with it were very sad.
