Daytime Review! I stopped into The Guild for a morning coffee and this place already had a crowd! They have cozy corners to sit throughout the bookstore and enjoy items but also a front dining room. Whether you'd like to order to-go or dine in, one waits in the same line to be helped. They had a good variety of brunch items on menu but also some baked goods in a case that were easy to grab on the go. I got a Lavender Iced Coffee this visit. Their Vanilla, Mocha, and Lavender syrups are all made in house so I wanted to get one of those. The Lavender was very fresh tasting and paired well with the coffee flavor. It was a bit of a wait to get but staff was nice and thanking guests for being patient. Overall, The Guild is a great spot (day or night) to come and enjoy!

We were in the area and saw that it was a bookstore and cafe and naturally the book lover in me had to stop by. When we walked in it was like Christmas heaven. We walked up the stairs and grabbed our coffee to the right and explored the book store. Once we were all set we sat at the tables to enjoy some conversation and just take in the atmosphere. I do wish they had a bigger coffee menu. I ended up getting a matcha and it was okay. The lady at the stand did say they close early to reset for dinner. I would love to come back and see what that looks like one day. Overall a great experience and a super charming place!

Soooo cute. The suburbs definitely need a spot like this! The quiche was delicious (albeit salty) and I enjoyed my coffee in the parlor. Found a unique coffee table book perfect for a birthday gift for one of my best friends. Definitely will be back! There is a wheelchair accessible entrance from the back parking lot (but the door is heavy)!

Beautiful environment. Customer service was friendly and directly personable. The book selection, in that area, was pitch perfect. Truly, a great find and wonderful weekend spot.

The aesthetic is definitely here for this place but everything else fell rather flat for me. The mocha latte I ordered was very dull in flavor and was served to me lukewarm, almost like a kids temp drink, & I asked for it to be steamed again so it could be hot & it was just popped in the microwave :/ They also informed me their food menu won't be ready for a while that they only have pastries currently so really only sweet options for food. The volume in here was astronomical as well which I find odd for a coffee shop/bookstore where you're expecting to be able to read & relax but maybe that's a personal preference. There was at least a wide variety of books & I am interested to see how this place changes with time as they get more settled in.

Assorted cards and pretty little gifts.

Everyone is buzzing with excitement to try the Guild in Wheaton, a space with many different personalities. In the morning, it's a coffee shop and cafe space, plus bookstore area. In the evening, a "lo-fi bar" is planned, and they're working on an attached event space as well. When we stopped by, there was a lovely warm welcome from the hostess up front--though the seating is self-service. Fortunately, my friend nabbed us a table for 4, but there were crowds coming through the small seating area constantly looking for spots. The register line was typically 6-12 people waiting to order, and by the time we got up to order, they had sold out of all their pastries other than a few big gingerbread cookies. (One friend of mine bought one; it was delicious, crispy-soft and suffused with ginger spices.) One friend who had gotten there early enjoyed her hot cocoa with a darling heart design in the foam. As the crowds grew, we noticed none of our coffees got the designer treatment! My oatmilk latte with caramel was delicious, and the atmosphere would likely have been relaxing and pleasant if it hadn't been so crowded. I'm hoping to go back at night sometime to try out their "lo-fi bar" experience. They also have a microphone area set up in the bookstore; I'd imagine they will host authors for readings eventually.

Loved the overall vibe. It leans more bar and cafe than true bookstore, but still a very cool spot. The front atrium feels a bit flat, more like a functional dining area than the warm and charming atmosphere the rest of the space has created. Hours are still settling in as they slowly roll out, but it was already filling up early on a Friday night. They definitely need at least one large table to host book clubs."

This place is such a beautiful gem. You can browse books, grab a quick drink, and enjoy a simple but solid coffee or matcha selection. I ordered a lavender matcha and it was absolutely delicious. The only minor downside was that it was a bit hard to tell who was working unless they were behind the register. Name tags might make things clearer. Overall, though, a lovely spot I'd definitely return to.

Bar tender made us specialty mocktails even though they weren't on the menu. Service was a little slow.

This visit was extra meaningful because they quite literally saved my birthday evening. We had reservations at the new Bien Trucha in Wheaton, only to arrive and find it closed... with no notice. Not exactly festive. Enter Proof No. 5, swooping in like the culinary hero of the night. We enjoyed an exquisite tuna crudo, rich and beautifully balanced, and meatballs over polenta that felt like comfort dressed up for a celebration. The medallions with mushrooms and three sauces were excellent, layered, and deeply satisfying. And the cocktails? Some of the best crafted in the suburbs. Thoughtful, balanced, and dangerously easy to order a second. Warm atmosphere, consistently great food, and a team that delivers every time. We'll keep coming back. And back. And back.

Found out this place is closing soon and really sad I can't try all their dishes. Shared the Whipped Feta with olive spread on naan bread and gluten free bread. Really delicious and light and creamy. Had the wagon rider non alcoholic cocktail. Hint of raspberry and lime. My main meal I had the roasted beets salad and added salmon. Had the right amount of dressing. There were air dried and roasted beets. Get the crunch from air dried beets and pistachios. Also had a Light sweet taste. Have option to add steak, salmon, or chicken. Choose the salmon and was cooked perfectly. Very flaky and moist. There is free parking on the streets and not far from the parking garage.

My wife suggested this place and I have never been here prior but once I parked my vehicle and stepped inside, i completely forgot about my worries because I felt like I was at home. The lighting and the atmosphere inside is absolutely beautiful. I feel like I'm in a speakeasy but not so secretive and this place is just warm with positive vibes from the people that are here. Great selection of cocktails and all sorts of seasonal drinks and specials. Mixologists here are highly trained for what they do and are great with their customer service. They have a larger room in the back that I was not able to see that looks like it's for larger parties. My only regret about this place is that I should have came here for Valentine's day. They have a menu and a QR menu as well. Pro tip : please dim the brightness on your phone

I love that their menu changes so often each season with so many different drinks to try and they are all super inventive. I also love that they sometimes put fun little items on the drinks, such as a page from a book, a temporary tattoo, or a piece of candy. This time, they had their spring 2026 menu. I looked at their Instagram page before coming and decided exactly what I wanted. It's so fun how they write a little story to go along with each cocktail and the thought process behind it. It definitely makes the drinks feel more personal and special. We started off with the Rose Tico Conundrum (very sweet and came with a little piece of raspberry candy) and Pepe Silvia's Pickle Party Plot (really delicious, was surprised by this one). Next we tried the speciality API month drink called Gratitude in Bloom (tasted very gingery and lemony, almost like a healthy tea drink) and the Springtime Thought Crime (very strong with a hint of cherry). There isn't much seating so it's not great for huge groups but I think there is a patio. It's a pretty casual spot and great for just hanging out. The music is loud but the vibe is fun. The bartenders and servers are always amazing and super attentive. They do not serve their own food, but I think they have a food truck sometimes that you can order from and they'll bring it to you. I could be wrong about that, but the people next to us had tacos brought to them on paper plates, which looked delicious.

Located on the grounds of a suburban Country Club (WTF?!?!), it was worth the hour plus non rush hour drive. But to the drinks -- many classifications of cocktails to choose from on the large menu (as well as some wines, grab and go cocktails, NA/mocktails and a couple beers. Don't sleep on the empanadas from aforementioned country club. They're fantastic). Sone classic cocktails, their riffs on other classic cocktails, and then the main events : their specialties, their experiments and what is in the pipeline. Plus flights that allow you to sample the creativity. The flavors and the combinations are insane. Thick foams, clarified drinks, multi- ingredient, multi-spirit-- all well balanced (though the welcome shot of Bubble Gum and the Kinder Surprise were a tad sweeter than I usually go for). Think savory like pizza or salads. I know you can't so you better go and see what I mean !' Depending on specials, prices are $10-20/drink plus a couple of large format offerings. Games and good tunes. Come alone, with a friend or a group. That's what was there early on a Thursday. Easily accommodated. Cute bathrooms with exceptional hand towels. Take the drive and maybe get a hotel room -- that's what we're doing next time so we can really get into the offerings. I hope the area recognizes what they have in their midst. If not -- please relocate to Chicago !
