When in Salem for Halloween and you see a restaurant that is empty, perchance follow your intuition and move on. We surely didn't. The staff appeared to be a mixture of high schoolers or adults playing high schoolers, and their energy was super chaotic and unprofessional. Once we ordered, the place filled with smoke. I contemplated stepping outside because I was choking, as I have asthma. In the corner sat a homeless dude with no purchased food, but he did have a 6 pack that he kept drinking in between naps. The tzatziki fries were disappointing as hell, dry and not worth the price. I got the falafel gyro and when I say it was 80% pickles, please heed my advice. The falafel also tasted bitter. Every single bite, and I had my husband try it in case it was me. It was as if they were made with vinegar. I could not finish it. My husband ordered the lamb and beef. To me, it was dry AF. To him, it wasn't good. The little meat it had was again, dry, and he simply couldn't find something positive to say about it. I'm honestly surprised at the ratings. Y'all need to try better gyro spots instead of hyping this one up!

    Lamb & Beef Gyro

Out of the madness that was Halloween weekend in Salem, this place wasn't that busy. Walked in and got a lamb and beef gyro. Wasn't very good. Meat was dry. Couldn't really taste the lamb. Not enough tzatziki sauce. It was pretty blah.

Great portions, food was tasty and the lady and gentleman working Sunday night were really nice, friendly and asked us how was everything. We will be coming back for sure.

Fantastic food and great service! The food came out fast and they have pretty big portions. Definitely would come back l.

I absolutely love this Gyro spot! I feel like you can't go wrong with what you choose. I've tried most of the menu, but I love the chicken Gyro. The chicken is always so tasty and the G sauce really ties everything together. Not to mention they always load the gyro up, it's massive! Definitely try the Feta fries, they load them up with so much feta! If you want a sweet treat definitely end your meal with the loukoumades. They make them fresh and they're so delicious. The customer service has always been friendly and accommodating. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews, because I will always come back to this place. Whenever I'm in Salem I'm stopping here first!

It was definitely full of whimsy and love. Our table was ready right on time. The spanakopita was an unexpected large bubble of dough vs traditional, so if you want traditional, heads up. It was fine, though. They had a decent Valentine's Day themed drink menu too. I'd guess it was their normal drinks with cute names for the day, but as a first timer I could be way off here. The short ribs were large, meaty and tender. Quite delicious. The mashed potatoes were cold but at least if you had a bite with the meat you couldn't tell as much. My lady got the chicken souvlaki and we both loved it. All in all, Greek is rarely ever going to be my first choice but this is what you do when your love wants it :) I'd be interested in going in for lunch on a non holiday hoping they have some good Greek pizza. Nice staff. Definitely felt pressured to order booze but after saying I was set it did settle. Our waitress was super friendly and kind.

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

I walked in and placed a to-go order that had some complications due to what was available and she helped me order the next best thing with what was in stock. I really regret not getting her name as her positive attitude while doing her job stood out to me and when I collected my order I asked if she was management. She said she wasn't. I said she should be. If the management reads Yelp reviews you better keep this employee happy and give her room to grow. Her attitude deserves success. Well I've eaten at a lot of Greek restaurants here and in Greece and this is one of the best places I've ever been to, to have a good sit down Greek meal. Where I live there are great restaurants for any type of cuisine you can imagine and a great Greek restaurant but the one near me is more like the best fast food in Greece. (A gyro wrap is the most traditional Greek fast food you can get). If people every ask me where to go to try other great Greek dishes, I will tell them to go there, 10 minutes from where I live and and on the eat home come by and drop off their left overs. They accommodated us for a table of 7 and although it can be a bit loud, you can still talk to anyone in your party. But i would recommend getting a reservation so you don't have to rely on luck like we did. The prices might be a little higher than some of your typical sit down restaurants, but worth every penny.

We were seated all the way in the back right next to a huge picture window overlooking the outdoor patio. Outdoor patio is nice for the weather but it's in the middle of the parking lot so there's nothing to look at lol but the food makes up for that! We had the trip of dips. Hummus was great (I make mine with more garlic but that's a preference), tzatziki was chunky and a touch briney, the whipped feta with chili was a wild card but it pulled through with flying colors. Grilled octopus appetizer was to die for, on a bed of mushed split peas. It had a char on the outside, and was perfectly tender. The kefta was good, I'm used to more herbs in the Armenian version, but the lamb flavor came through even with the red sauce and cheese. I had the ribeye for dinner. They nailed this. Crispy, caramelized meat and fat on the outside, perfect medium rare in the middle. It was a large steak (maybe 12-14oz) of good thickness. The potatoes and grilled onions and shishito peppers were icing on the cake. At the table we also had the lamb chops. A great portion 3 large chops with thick wedges of fried potatoes. The pork skewer was larger than anticipated, seasoned well and not over cooked, again it came with the fried potatoes. The branzino was meticulously seared yet still flakey and moist. The bed of chickpeas was a surprise and gave major 'wow' flavor. Our waitress was lovely, she floated in when we needed something and left us alone to enjoy the company. The owners' mother also works the floor and she is adorable and so happy to be there. 100% hit this spot.

The dips were all good. The whipped feta was creamy, the eggplant had that nice smoky depth and the taramosalata was super interesting, very briny in the best "yes, this is definitely roe" kind of way. Only note is that the Horiatiko Psomi (house bread) could've been warm/toasted for my preference especially given the price of the dips, I expected the bread to be a little more elevated too Then we got the Lahanodolmades (cabbage stuffed with beef and pork, rice, mint, avgolemono). Well seasoned, the cabbage was tender without falling apart and that lemony avgolemono sauce tied everything together- it was bright and savory. For mains, we shared the Moschari me Damaskina (red wine-braised beef cheeks with prunes, trahanas) and Arni stin Souvla (slow-roasted lamb leg). The beef cheek was ridiculously tender- like barely touch it and it falls apart. Rich, slightly sweet from the prunes, with that warm spice note of the cinnamon that balanced the tomato acidity really nicely. The lamb was cooked well and definitely tasty but nothing super extravagant compared to other Greek lamb dishes I've had. Still really yummy especially with the onions and a squeeze of lemon cutting through the lamb. Portion-wise, the pricing felt a little high for what you get but the ambience is beautiful, definitely a great date night spot. Low lighting, cozy, feels elevated without being stuffy
