Since my previous 2 start review, this salon underwent new ownership in January. The new owners Blaine and Fallan are great and as soon as they took over they reached out right away to right the situation cause by a previous owner. I got a great haircut by Blaine! They were also personally running a little donation center at the salon and bringing them to the LA fire efforts which was awesome. _____ Original for previous ownership Miko who now works at a new salon; I'm leaving this word of caution in hopes nobody else find themselves in this scam type situation. Via text, I booked with Miko and she quoted me $300 total for a haircut and partial highlight. Online it says her haircuts are $100+. This math checks out for the partial highlight but she didn't give per service specifics. Red flag. My only directions were that the highlights look natural, and she confirmed with me that I wanted a thin money piece. Of her own accord Miko said she wanted to do more than a partial highlight because she thought my hair really needed it, but assured me she wouldn't charge for the extra highlights. She said this a couple of times. We move forward with the appointment because I figure she knows best even though I get partial highlights for a reason (budget, and not wanting to look too dyed because i'm a natural blonde). She ended up giving me 1' thick money pieces, yikes. But I didn't say anything yet because I was trying to convince myself it was time to try something new. She ended up cutting the appointment short with no haircut because "another stylist took her sheers home" and apparently there were no other sheers she could use at a ....hair salon........ I pay upfront for both services and tip. Cut forward to her canceling two reschedules I had cleared my schedule for, not responding for a week, and then finally saying she would only refund $25 of the $330 I paid because "I didn't say no to the highlights" and she decided to charge for a full after all?????? Miko is knowledgeable, kind and professional, not to mention a perfectionist. This was my first time getting this particular method of hair extensions and it was worth all the money and time!
