I have had the keratin treatment at other salons inside the loop, in League City, and in Pearland, and the end result is that none of them have lasted as long (or in the case of the one in League City .. it was done wrong so I had chunks of hair that stayed wavy) as when Toni works her magic! I hate giving negative reviews because we are all human - but this just rubbed me wrong. I grew my roots out for 6 months and ended up being a Pinterest project gone wrong. She seemed to get what I wanted and when I got home and saw the final result I about flipped. I did go right back up there and it was partially salvaged - but the only way to fix it was to go really blonde at my roots. (Which I just spent half the year growing out!) Lesson learned! Had a great experience with Cinthia C. She gave me a shampoo & cut and it turned out so well. She was really nice and gentle on my "tender" scalp. I cannot explain how disappointed I was when I left this salon. I called a head of time to make sure they had an opening for a quick trim & a little bit of face framing. NOTHING MORE. I came in around 3:30 with Kierten Varnado. I Came in with an open mind because I have a very hard time trusting anyone touching my hair,but I took a chance coming to Hair Palace. As soon as I sat & explained to her what I wanted, I asked if she was sure she understood and made sure we were both on the same page. She said yes. She Immediately started cutting my hair dry & as a former hairstylist I find cutting hair easier when damp or wet, but I thought maybe this is her preference. So I didn't stop her. She finished cleaning up my ends in less than 5min, it felt which made me feel very.. unsure in her techniques because there is no way she finished that quick on dry hair. As she proceeded to the face framing I had asked for, she took out a dull ridged razor and started yanking on the front pieces of my hair where framed my face. I questioned her on my concerns and asked if she'd clean up the jagged and harsh lines and she mentioned that's how they do "face framing,just with the razor"...It was not a good feeling or sound hearing my hair get torn off by a dull razor especially around my face where is noticeable the most!! After that i was ready to leave. My appointment was scheduled at 3:30, and I left the salon at 3:48. Maybe it was the lack of knowledge, but if you were going to use a razor to face frame please make sure it's not dull and tugging at the hair of your client . It's very unprofessional & uncomfortable to the client. When I got home I realized the face frame was definitely crooked & extremely noticeable I will not be coming back to this salon. read more

I hate to do this but this is for informational purposes. This used to be my go to salon for years. However the quality has gone down in my opinion. I have received more than one bad hair cut from here. I recently gave them another chance to which I received a very uneven haircut and had to remind the stylist to please layer the other side of my hair and it was still very uneven. I realize people take time to develop and learn skills but I was very disappointed in the cut. As I've said before, I've received a bad hair cut from here before and I know the policy which means I'd have to pay again, so I didn't go back to have it fixed. Not saying all the stylists are like this, but please do research and ask questions before letting them cut. It's not rude if you explain and do it politely. I went from shoulder length curly hair to a very uneven, half layered, choppy asymmetrical bob. All I wanted was a trim and some layers and face framing. Roxie is the absolutely the best and bends over backwards to be sure you are pleased. I'm so pleased with her I even had my kids schedule the birth of their third child in July around my appoiment!!. I will never go back or recommend the Hair Palace. The colorist got sick and I had to wait for another while my hair was being over processed and bleached as I waited. I'm writing in regard to my daughter Brittany. I referred my daughter to Hair Palace to get her hair colored. She wanted three colors, Dark blonde, Red, and Highlights, She wanted it to be done by foil and she did not want chunky layers. The young girl scheduled my daughter an appointment with Lilly. My daughter also scheduled an appointment for my niece for which my daughter was paying for as a treat. They were all excited. That is until my daughter called for me to pick her up from your salon. It was then that she told me how unhappy she was with her hair. When I picked her up I could not believe it. The red highlight was bright orange. I could not believe it. I told her to go back in there and have them fixed it. She was crying so she called the Salon and talked with Libby who said to come back in about 30 minutes and she would correct it. Since we were not sure what color red she would have if Libby tried to color her hair again she decided to color over the orange with a shade darker with the blonde. Well when she came home after the second color. The hair that was red was now black and She did not cover all the orange in different places. The most noticeable is in front by her face. When she pulls her hair back she looks like she has a receding hair line. It highlights then about 3" down in the front it black. It was done very unprofessional. So later that afternoon my daughter calls back up to the Salon and talks with Roxy. She tells her about her hair. Oh and to find out Roxy has the station right next to Lilly. So she saw the hole thing go down. Never stopping my daughter from walking out the first time. Anyway. She never told my daughter that she is sorry not once. She schedules her for Monday at 6 pm. My daughter asked about Sunday but she said that was not possible. Come Sunday around 1 pm Roxy calls my daughters cell phone and asks her if she can come in right then. My daughter explained to her we were in our way to Galveston with Family. So she asks her to come in at 7 am on Monday. My daughter agrees. Come Monday my daughter oversleeps for her appointment. She had been up all night sick. She has Colitis, which comes on out of nowhere. For which she had to visit her Dr. for on the same morning. When she does get up she call Roxy to apologize and they schedule an appointment for the original 6 pm that evening. She gets a call from Roxy who says she got what she asked for that she has went out of her way even came up on Sunday. Which was not planned or scheduled. Apparently she was very rude to my daughter. My daughter called me crying so hard she could barely talk. I was right by the Salon so I stopped in. At first she was trying to say she was busy and could not talk with me. Then she comes up and I tell her that Im Brittany's Mom and she starts saying the same thing to me. I had to ask her to let me talk. I was very upset. We argued back in forth for a couple of minutes. She did say the orange in my daughter's hair looked awful. Then she offers me the $70 back. And I take it. Then she continues to want to argue. When I walk out she says something to me and I say that I can't believe you let my daughter walk out of here with the orange color the first time. She finally shut up and I walked out. I call my daughter and she says she paid a total of $190.00 that day. $110.00 of that was for her hair. I was so upset that she did not give me the full amount so my daughter could afford to go elsewhere to get it fixed. I called back up there and she would not get on the phone so the young girl passed on the information. I did say that I was going to write a letter to the editor of the Deer Park Paper regarding this matter. And the young girl tells me that that would be rude. I said rude is the way my daughter is being treated by your Salon. And I told her to read the paper and she hung up on me. So I am contacting you in hopes of correcting this matter. I would like the $40.00 refunded to my daughter. My daughter has paid for a bad hair color as well as emotionally. I would also like to say the it's my understanding that Lilly has had a few problems like over processing a customers hair so she had to cut her hair short. So I do know that there have been a few problems with Lilly. Oh I was also told by the young girl on the phone when I called back that it was not the Salons fault it was Lilly's. So that might be something to mention when a customer calls your Salon and you schedule her an appointment with Lilly. Yep. Sigh. I am sure there are good stylists/chemical specialists at this salon, but mine was not among them. Cassie was very sweet, and very friendly, and very not good. Color is drab and dark. Highlights are chunky and brassy in some areas, ashy in others. I have "halo" around my hairline in front and bleached spots that make me look like I have bald spots on one side. Yikes. And that's just the color. Don't even get me started on the haircut. . . I have waited 2 weeks after having this done to me to write this review TRYING to decide if I was blowing this outta proportion. I am NOT. Even thought she comped the haircut (since it ended up about four inches shorter than I asked for and is STILL uneven) my bill when I walked out was $125. So I paid that to have my hair screwed up. Nice. I don't mind paying premium for premium services. At all. But this was an insult. She is an employee of the shop, not a booth renter. I asked. Shame on the owner. read more

I have never known anyone to get a chemical burn from anyone at The Hair Palace. To the lady that said she received one: my suggestion would be to inform any stylist of all psychotropic medication you might be on, as that may affect your sensitivity to hair treatments. Also, coming from someone who has had her hair colored for almost 15 years, you would've possibly felt the "burning" under the drier, in which case, that would be your fault for not informing your stylist at that moment. I had a great experience here. Erica (my hairdresser) was very nice and did an amazing job on my hair, I wanted to go blonde and that's exactly how I ended up. I had been blonde before but the pervious woman that I had been to had always left orange patches and my hair was always breaking off. DO NOT GO HERE ! My hair was chopped off and the hair cut was SO OFF of what I asked for. My stylist I used was Kayla after my hair was chopped off I was told "oh you take prenatals it wil grow back" being I told her I'm pregnant. After complaining and told a owner will call me the stylist calls and defends her mistake of a haircut. I go up to the salon to talk to the owner, and show her my pictures of what I asked for how my hair looked originally and what was done. She defends the stylist acts as though she can care less and refunds me half my money. I did not expect anything but what I was owed that a mistake had been made and maybe a apology I got neither. My hair will take forever to grow back to even the length I asked for to begin with. My confidence is down and my hair is shorter than it's EVER been. I should have paid nothing to get my hair scalped and a awful cut my seven year old could have done better.
