I will never get tired of explainers and I appreciate Chad's effort to inform me about all their offerings. The food itself is fine. Actually, I had a chicken pita and it did remind me of Del Taco in the best possible sense. The white sauce is good and I like that it's packaged so you can store it if you have extra. Please don't bother with the hot sense if you have any respect for your digestive system. The falafel was fine but nothing outstanding. The baklava was also pretty standard. We've always had access to Zankou and Id say it's just as good. If you like a simple menu, do try Halal guys. Coke beverages are served here. read more

I go to this Halal Guys location all the time. The employees are always super nice. It's a quick and easy process to get your food. You order at the counter and go down the line to add on to your base. Starting off you have the option of a platter or sandwich for your base. The main difference is you have rice with your platter and a pita for your sandwich. You then choose your protein. If you plan to get falafel as your protein it takes a little longer (~5mins) since they don't have it out. After you select your base, you add on lettuce and tomatoes. If you ordered a platter, included are a few slices of pita. Also if you get a platter, you will just be asked what sauces you want but you can always ask for toppings at no extra charge (except for the olives)! For toppings you have the option of onions, green peppers, jalapeños, and olives. Then comes the sauces - The Halal Guys is known for their white sauce and hot sauce. If there's anything that you've heard about The Halal Guys, it was probably something about the sauces. The white sauce is super creamy and tastes similar to a tangy ranch. The hot sauce is SUPER spicy - be careful with how much you add to your food if you're trying it for the first time. The sauces are available in packets so you can ask them for a packet if you don't know what to expect. I stick to 1 line of white sauce and 2 lines of hot sauce. There is a rewards program and once you get a certain number of points you can get a free platter. I've definitely gotten my fair share of free platters from points! read more

How much can i express how i feel about Halal Guys??? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVERYTHING. I always regret getting that extra line of hot sauce tho, because its so freaking HOT that i start sweating and boogering - BUT ITS SO FREAKING GOOD. The chicken rice bowl is really good. The mixed meat gyro is amazing. Even the fries and the white sauce. I truly just enjoy them so much. And they're fast. I honestly haven't tried out this place until quarantine started, but WOW. I missed out on it before. The combo platters are amazing and a healthy choice when deciding on what to each for lunch--I love getting their chicken and gyro combo platter along with extra white sauce (which is like the icing of the cake for the platter). I recommend ordering the regular platter for the most filling experience cause you'll regret getting the small and wanting more cause it's that good. Also to get things straight, this is NOT a blow your mind, best Mediterranean food you'll ever have. Yes there is more authentic places in Glendale but that's not the point here. Honestly, when I first looked at it, I was worried I'd be hungry after the small option. However, I was pleasantly satisfied and content after eating the entire thing. The white sauce is good and that is probably what makes the dish. But to be honest, I'm really not sure what the rave is about. The Halal guys are expanding rapidly and this is their newest location. Service was very nice and let us sample the meats, my husband had a beef bowl and I went with beef and chicken mixed. I suggest sauce on the side as the red is very spicy, the white very rich and mayo laden, both to be used sparingly. Prices and portions are ok, the large bowl a much better value. This was my first time trying Baklava, and wow my tastebuds were not prepared for how sweet this dessert was--I mean this in the best way possible, 5 stars for the Baklava. For the main meal I ordered a chicken platter and wish I had gone with a gyro sandwich instead; the platter included 3 pita triangles and after those were gone the rest of the meal didn't quite compare. I wish there was an option to just order pita as a side. Sauces: As someone who loves spicy things, beware the red sauce is *actually* spicy, don't go overboard! My obsession continues as I find more of these locations! I screamed so loud when we drove past it that my friend thought I was having a heart attack. No, just pure love for Halal guys! I always get the same thing. Falafel platter, doused in white and red sauce. I can handle heat so I do a ton of red. The sauces are crack. Be careful with the red though. It is spicy if you can't handle it. Also got fries and hummus. The fries with the hummus was especially tasty. Sounds weird, but seriously tastes great. Parking is tough since it's in a congested area. We lucked out with a meter nearby. Inside, there's some seating and some outside as well. It wasn't particularly busy when we got there, but every seat was filled. Dining area isn't that big, but a table opened up right after we ordered. Good timing. read more

**Doordash order** So my review is just based on the food I received yesterday. I love that Halal Guys is so close to my work and I've only found UberEats and DoorDash to deliver. We ordered the combo plate with gyro and chicken. My coworker ordered falafel and gyro. It came perfectly in a bag and we were happy! The only bad thing was we both asked for red sauce and didn't get any in our orders. We did get our white sauce that we paid extra for (75 cents each). If you order online, you'll need to just be specific for the base. I made a note that I wanted half rice and half salad and my coworker wanted all salad. I'm not sure what they would have picked for us if I hadn't indicated what I wanted but there's an option for 'chef's recommendation'. I opted for delivery because I'm being honest...the parking completely sucks. It's next to in-n-out and I'm only 5 blocks away. I would walk over but with a 30 min lunch, I can't make it with enough time to eat :( (I've tried and failed) There's a structure off Brand Blvd (behind in-n-out) but you'll spend more time looking for parking if you come after 12pm. If you have an hour lunch then I think that's enough time for you. Some structures validate and some don't...the city is changing things up so be prepared. Halal Guys is my favorite ever since I found them in NYC - I would def try it at least once. Inside is the same just like any other halal guys. I ordered the combo platter as always. Must must must have the white sauce, the chicken and gyro is way too dry and unflavored without it. The red sauce is great as always, spicy and full of heat. Service was quick and all the workers were super polite. My verdict... it's good to try. There's nothing crazy about this place. I think the only reason this place became so popular was the fact that it was one of the few food trucks open late that didn't serve only hot dogs. I got their falafel plate, and it wasn't anything special. The lettuce was the same soggy lettuce you'd eat with your elementary school lunch, and the red and white sauces are just there to make your plate a bit more flavorful. Not sure if this business will last in this place. Hoping they change their recipe a bit! To be honest, I tried my friend's chicken shawarma plate and it was a bit better than the falafel. Maybe I'll give it another shot, but I don't seem tempted enough to go anytime soon. This has become one of those overrated places in a prime location in Glendale. This weekend I finally got to try the very famous Halal Guys, the street cart from New York that became a foodie and cultural sensation. It was across the street from the Alex Theater which we had just visited and was open until midnight, so it was perfect for a bite after our show. My first Halal Guys experience was not at all disappointing and lived up to the hype! The portions were huge and a great value for the dollar. We happened to get the one female staff member that was known for making big sandwiches and being able to impressively wrap them tightly. Hopefully the gyros are always this big! I like how you can select your toppings (chopped raw tomatoes, green peppers, and pitted black olives for an extra $1), conveyor belt style, to customize your enormous beef gyro sandwich or platter. My partner and I ordered a beef gyro ($7.95) and a combination platter ($9.95) with chicken and beef, iceberg lettuce salad and rice. The chicken wasn't as tasty as the beef but delicious if you mixed it with their barbecue sauce. We also ordered a side of two falafel balls ($1.95) which were just alright -- very well seasoned and made, but very hard to bite. Customer service was VERY good here. They even have a guy coming by periodically with squeeze bottles of their signature white sauce and barbecue sauce to see if you want more sauce on your gyro or plate. They tend to like to drown your food in sauce so I asked for it on the side. They also have a very spicy hot sauce and they give you a side of tahini. I would like this place more if the white sauce was true Greek-yogurt based tzatziki instead of something closer to Ranch dressing made with soybean oil, and if they put cucumbers in the gyros too.
