First off, I love The Halal Guys. Beef Gyro Platter, regular size with extra lettuce and Tomato. Love the food, place gets super packed during peak hours. Loved it since the wife introduced it to me in NYC. Honestly, this location moves faster than some of the others I've been to in SoCal. The only downside is the parking, which is street or structures that are located a block or so away. Make sure you also try the crinkle cut fries with white sauce. read more

First time at The Halal Guys, food is decent but nothing to brag about, I had the Combo Chicken and Beef served with salad and Rice drizzled with white sauce and their notoriously hot "hot sauce" if you are not into fiery hot sauce I suggest getting this on the side it is really hot - I like it! Serving is pretty generous and the staff is friendly, being it is pretty new the place looks clean and inviting, seems a little short handed at the moment but nevertheless the service was efficient. Not much to expect as far as dining, this is a fast food restaurant when you think about it anyway. Overall for the curious it is worth the try, the sauce definitely lives up to the hype but in general it is just another fastfood alternative if you are tired of the same old burgers and fries. read more

I am so happy to write this review of the associates closing The Halal Guys on Thursday March 21st. I came in as an UberEATS driver to pick up a customers order. I was informed there would be a small wait time as they were preparing fresh rice. I had no problem waiting because I have been a restaurant manager for many years all across Los Angeles and I understood it was almost closing time. The associate named Christian, was apologetic for the small wait time and offered me a cup of ice water, which was very gracious. He and the other associate Willie, were very busy preparing food, cleaning and performing closing duties, all while bidding exiting diners a thank you and goodnight. I inquired about The Hall of Fame hot sauce challenge and they were enthusiastic and offered me a sample of a sauce on a pita slice. I was thoroughly enticed and will bring my son in and he and I will partake in the challenge! Soon, my customers order was brought to me by Christian and I was so impressed with his polite, professional demeanor, that I felt it very necessary to compliment both he and Willie on their take charge attitudes and exceptional customer service. Because of this, I will be choosing The Halal Guys in Glendale as a dining option for my family and friends. We need more of what these two gentleman showed me tonight. Food is decent for quick fast food. Fries are oddly amazing. Except for the time that they left me a hair in my food. Oh, and another time when my boyfriend got a combo and they only gave him half of what he ordered (no gyro because they forgot--dont even know how you do that when it's assembly style and it's not that busy). The service is god-AWFUL. My boyfriend called and Christian who works there promised him what they called a "raincheck"--Christian said he could come back anytime and get anything he wanted since they screwed up his order. We came back a few days later and Guillermo kept giving my boyfriend looks like he was crazy when he asked for a raincheck. Even after Guillermo saw the note in the back, he was being extremely rude and derogatory to my boyfriend so I called him out on it and asked him to understand that it was frustrating to receive half an order when you've already gone home and for them to be so unapologetic about the situation. His brilliant response? "I guess." in true gaslighting fashion. This had me livid. If you have a business and you mess up and own up to it, I can respect that. But if there's no accountability for mistakes that were made, you're just embarassing yourself and the company you represent. Guillermo accused my boyfriend of yelling at him even though he wasn't when he was the one continually making faces at him like he was crazy even after he saw the raincheck note. Anyway, after all the gaslighting/accusations, I ended up saying this is just stupid when we were checking out and the cashier (Christian who ironically was the one to promise the raincheck) and Guillermo said "YEAH this IS stupid" while again making faces. Definitely an unapologetically unprofessional work environment and I'd give -5 stars if I could. read more

We tried Halal Guys for the first time and loved it. I kept hearing about how good the food was and had to try it. The employees were super friendly and walked me thru how to build my bowl. She gave the sauces on the side and suggested that was the best way since I was taking the food to go. I had the half chicken and half beef and my husband had the chicken. Personally, I liked the beef much better. Their white sauce is so good. Red sauce is also good but soooooo spicy (you have to be careful). Their rice was my favorite part. Offering take out and delivery via apps during Covid. I love Halal Guys! The meat always tastes fresh as well as the other ingredients/toppings. I typically opt for the gyro (listed as a "sandwich" on the menu) but they have platters with rice as well. The fries are made fresh upon ordering which I appreciate! Great customer service, social distancing is well enforced with masks, gloves, floor markers, hand sanitizer at the door, and plexiglass. I go here at least once every 2 weeks... no photos because I always dive in and forget! I will add them soon... because I'll prob be going again this weekend. read more

I'm a fan, but the Halal Guys back in New York tastes better in my opinion. Some things like In N Out, once you push it too far geographically the quality of the food just suffers. So, for those of you looking for fast halal food without spending money on a plane ticket to New York, step right up here! I really like the combo platter, you get rice, chicken and gyro, a salad and pita all crammed into a tin foil platter. Finish with white sauce and wow, this is where the craze comes in! However, this third time I ordered some takeout and was upset that my food did not come with the pita bread that it should've and I also did not get the baklava that I paid for. I've been to a few locations - NYC (the original), AZ (Tempe), Costa Mesa, and now the one in Glendale. In comparison to the other locations: Highlights: -Food quality is the same as the other locations, which means it's delicious -Parking - went on New Year's Day so free parking. Otherwise there's street parking or in designated lots nearby. -Seating - easy to find seating for us on New Year's Day. Decently sized space. Meh: -Portion size that they give you in this location is pretty abysmal. We ordered the regular & small size combo plates and sadly they looked about the same, which just seemed less. -Stingy with the white sauce for sure. You have to pay extra just for the sauce packets, which I don't recall in some locations (like in the Tempe location, I recall a lady walking around offering you extra white or red sauce on your platter when dining in which was really nice). -Ordered fries and waited a long while for it. Had to ask a few times about it and somehow they messed up the order. Offered us a free baklava (though I'm not big on sweets) which was a nice gesture. Overall: Halal Guys is definitely a must try if you've never had it before, and a place I'd visit again to satisfy my cravings. However for me personally, I'd try a different location to get my fix. read more

That creamy white sauce has got me shook! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Halal Guys. I love it so much that I used to make the 45 mile drive to Long Beach at least once a week prior to this location opening up. My go-to is the chicken regular plate with lettuce, tomatoes, rice, pita and chicken. I usually order the 2-piece falafel with the sauce. Then I drown the entire thing in white sauce and 5 little baby droplings of hot sauce. The lettuce and tomatoes have always been fresh here. I've been to the Koreatown location and their produce has been questionable. The rice has a great flavor. I can detect hints of ginger but I'm not sure what other goodness is in there. The chicken is deeelicious. It reminds me of Filipino chicken adobo. The falafel is cooked to order, which I appreciate so that it's warm and crispy. The white sauce, aside from being a mayonnaise base, I have no idea what's in it but I can't get enough of it. The only downside is the lack of seating and the parking. In Glendale parking is so scarce. There are lots all around the city, but I don't prefer walking the 2 blocks alone at night. read more

I have been to the original food trucks in Manhattan and was hoping for a repeat, but Glendale does not cut it. The staff were also below average - not very communicative and not at all welcoming. We were there on a Friday night around 7pm and they acted like it was 3 in the morning and we were preventing them from closing... Great service great food! Im sure people mainly talk about the how great the sauces are. Although it is very delicious. Believe the flavor of they put in the meats has a huge part of it. I was a fan when they arrived in CA but it feels like every time I visit it's a little more disappointing, they cut another corner and care a little less. It's a reminder on why I don't visit as often. They used to fill the container with rice and lettuce, now you're lucky to get 50%x I saw them scoop the same amount into a small container as they did the regular, it definitely is smaller now. I mean... these are the cheapest ingredients to offer (rice/lettuce). The chicken wasn't made right on my visit. It lacked seasoning/flavor, it tasted like boiled chicken... On top of it, there was a lot of fat and skin left on it, that was gross getting a mouthful of it, I ended up just picking the chicken out. I wish they would go back to the quality that gave them their success now they're setting up to be another Chipotle and it saddens me they don't appear to care. read more

My go-to order here is A Combination platter with chicken & gyros. A scoop of hummus with oil & paprika. Extra pita bread. Salad on the side with bell peppers and extra tomatoes. Pro tip** I do this so my salad doesn't get warm. White sauce on the side! Hot sauce is muy caliente! You've been warned! But very tasty! Claudia deserves a raise! I've a Glendale Native and always craving for Halal Guys every time I around the Downtown area. Im happy that I was able to eat at the first HALAL at NYC. I want to say first that the customer service is out of this world, guys like Chris and the other make me feel special every time I order a plate. As a huge spice guy i recommend putting around six lines of the red Sause, and a decent amount of white sauce. Keep it up team. read more

Customer service 6/5 they really go above and beyond! Food is 4/5 but it's a convenient super-fast lunch alternative to Chipotle across the street. Pro tip: the hot red sauce here is ULTRA spicy! Mehh I wasn't impressed at all! Glendale has such great options for Mediterranean food and this just isn't one of them. Service was slow even though there was only one person in front of us. We ordered the regular (big) plate with combo meat and the ratio meat/salad/rice is way off! The salad is just lettuce and tomato (half the plate) with no flavor at all, the rice is okish (other half of the plate), and then the chicken and gyro are sprinkled on top on the rice. The flavor of the gyro was good, but way too greasy. Not a big fan of the white sauce either, but I guess that is just personal taste. Hummus, falafels or baba ganouj are extra. Most other restaurant offer these items as options for side dishes at no extra price. Overall not impressed by the service, food, or price. Won't be coming back. read more

I've been here many times for lunch and dinner and for some reason I think this branch is mediocre in comparison to other branches I've visited in Downtown LA, Koreatown and Costa Mesa. The workers who make my combo plate always give me a small portion and drown my plate in white sauce when I want a drizzle at most- not a soup of white sauce.
