This place is a must!!! We were in the area and were in the mood for some good food and noticed that this place had great reviews! Once we arrived parking was good since it was in a shopping center and the business is easy to find since it is in the corner. The menu is on the wall and we both got the combination plate with chicken and lamb, along with loaded fries and falafel balls. While waiting for the food we loved the ambiance and the artwork on the wall. They also had a dessert side. The food came out quick and it was delicious and at a reasonable price. So if you ever in the mood for mediterranean food then this is the place! We are definitely coming back!

Warning: You will eat EVERYTHING! :)

I've been in a serious food funk for the past year--nothing really hits the spot, and everything just feels kind of blah! I usually try to bring my own food to school, but even that gets old and honestly, a little annoying to keep up with. The other day, I was desperate for a coffee and walked over to Crater Coffee, which has now moved into the Halal Project space. I was just there for caffeine, but as soon as I stepped inside, I was hit with the most amazing smell coming from the kitchen. I knew right then and there that I had to come back for whatever was cooking. So, on my next school day, I skipped packing lunch and went straight for it. I got the Chicken Shawarma over Rice, and let me tell you--this is the best meal I've had in forever. The balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors, paired with perfectly cooked lean chicken breast and fresh veggies, was just chef's kiss. It was so good, I didn't even have leftovers (which is saying a lot). The employees are amazingly friendly, and it's a great place to camp out, do some homework, read a book, and even grab a delicious dirty chai from Crater Coffee. If you're in San Marcos, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Seriously, go eat there today!

Whoa! Soooooooo good!!!! I used to absolutely love Halal guys! The only problem was it was sooooo dang far in Austin. Now that I found this place- I can go here to get my fix!!! The chicken wrap was sooo good. The only gripe I have, is they do not do grilled onions. Major bummer. But it had soooo muchhh flavorrrrrr!!!! The fries were hitting too! Nice and crispy like I like em. The inside has some pretty funky graffiti art on the walls. Provides a real nice vibe. The service was on point too. Can't wait to go back through San Marcos to try it again!!!

    So much potential!!!!

Adam was a great host. He made sure we had a fresh serving and great portion of food. The ambiance is super chill. 10/10 overall. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the chicken shawarma and lamb shawarma over rice. Topo Chico and Mexican sprite both in a glass jar.

    Bliss.

It's almost like I can't even explain. I ordered the Combination over Fries, and let me tell you it almost made me cry tears of joy. The immaculate flavors just tickle that sweet spot. You won't believe me when I tell you it's perfec, it's almost like it was a dream. A little pricey, but definitely worth it

Nicely decorated spot. The food is hot and made fresh, great to eat with the sauce and customizable.

Gyro plate with half rice half salad. 5/5 delicious and fresh

Very clean spacious eating area. Close to the college and off campus dorms. The service was friendly. The food was fresh and delicious. Everything everyone got was sooooo good, very well seasoned. Veggies fresh and cut small. The fries were really good and crisp. We will definitely be back!!

Located off old ranch road 12, there's nothing flashy about this slot in an old strip retail building. It looks likes it been here a while and absolutely nothing has changed.. except maybe the prices. Nonetheless, it's very clean and maintained. The man behind the counter was friendly to me and the other customers. I ordered a traditional gyro that comes with fries and a soft drink. The food was ready in 10 minutes and delivered to my table. The gyro was perfect. The pita and meat portions piping hot and the lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce nicely chilled and fresh. Each bite was consistently good. The fries are inedible, fried in old grease, flaccid and not crispy. Very soft to touch. Portion size of the fries was very limited. The fries look old since the color is very dark. They look like they were fried to the very minimum or not at all. I couldn't even finish them. They got cold very quickly. Just disgusting really. I emphasize that they taste old. I'm sure why this place has high reviews on Google or Yelp. They did not do a good job on my order at all. I'm from Houston and I've had better falafels with full flavor, but I guess since this is San Marcos they know they can slack off. I know my Mediterranean food and usually the cuisine has a lot of good spices! I won't be coming back. It was disgusting! I now have to eat at a better restaurant to cover the disgust on my palate.

A Fantastic Introduction to Mediterranean Food!…read more I recently visited Levant Halal Restaurant and brought my parents, who are visiting from India. It was their very first time trying Mediterranean food, and they absolutely loved it! We started with two different types of hummus served with pita. The hummus was incredibly flavorful, and the pita was exceptionally fresh. We also ordered the falafel, which was perfectly prepared and delicious. For the main course, we shared the Chicken Shish Taouk with sides of beet salsa and Lebanese potatoes--everything was cooked beautifully and tasted amazing. Honestly, the highlight of the meal for us was the drinks. The mint juice and beet juice were so refreshing and easily the best part! We finished our meal with baklava and basbousa for dessert, and both were fresh, sweet, and incredibly tasty. Beyond the fantastic food, the ambiance is very neat and clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Levant Halal, especially if you are looking for a great place to introduce family to Mediterranean cuisine!

He stopped after cleaning the two tables on each side of me. That could've waited till they closed or he could've started on the other end. Naughty! They need to learn better customer service! Also I ordered the Levant Shawarma plate and I didn't even get to choose the sides.. very very disappointed!

There's another location in Round…read moreRock, but many reviewers said the original spot is much better, so we decided to start with the OG location. Parking is plentiful right in front of the restaurant. We came by on a Saturday around 1 PM, worried it might be packed, but it was actually pretty quiet. You can sit anywhere you like, grab a plate, and pay when you're done. The space is large and open, with three full rows of food and drinks plus a dedicated station for fruit and desserts. Everything was fresh, not overly salty, and there were plenty of options. My favorites were the hummus with eggplant (so flavorful with great texture), the salad and cucumber salad (fresh and refreshing), the dolma (perfectly done), gyro (tender and tasty), baked cauliflower (so good), fried chicken (juicy, crispy, and not salty), falafel (extra crunchy), and the lentil soup (simple but delicious). And don't miss their coffee at the checkout--it has a hint of warm spice and is the perfect finish after a meal. Surprisingly, I ended up loving the vegetable dishes even more than the meats. Overall, yes, $26 per person is on the higher side (what doesn't cost these days, right?!), but it's a great spot to try a variety of Mediterranean dishes that are fresh, simply seasoned, and let the ingredients shine--perfect whether you're new to the cuisine or just want a bit of everything.

Thanksgiving came around and we had zero desire to cook or clean. Our "plan" (and I use that word…read moreloosely) was Golden Corral. We figured if we got there early, we'd beat the crowd. Cute of us, honestly. We pulled up and that parking lot looked like Beyoncé was performing. Cars everywhere: on the grass, on the curbs, people creating their own imaginary parking spaces. People circling like it was Black Friday. Absolutely not. We left with no backup plan and even less hope. Pulled up Yelp and I remembered that Dimassi's buffet had been on my radar for months, but was it open? Called them up and CHA-CHING!!! Money! They were open, guys. That phone call felt like hitting the lottery. Thanksgiving was saved. We arrived and Dimassi's was calm, clean, and the buffet bar was fully stocked with hot food fresh out of the kitchen. They had your Mediterranean favorites: dips, salads, gyro meat, dolma, chicken kabobs, saffron rice, the good garlicky toum, warm potatoes, fresh pita, everything. They even prepared a turkey for patrons who wanted some. Wow. They understood the assignment. Now a couple things could be tweaked. I like my baba ganoush served warm...and maybe they could have had some lamb options? But, honestly? For a buffet on Thanksgiving at $23 a person ($9 for the 3 yr old with us), they delivered HARD. Dimassi's didn't just feed us...they rescued us from the Golden Corral Hunger Games. Thank you for being open. Thank you for coming through in the clutch. You saved Thanksgiving.

I've never been to Israel, but somehow it felt like we were there. I can't fully explain it. We ordered the hummus with the works and the falafel plate from the lunch menu. Incredible.
