What stands out the most is how vibrant and active the residents are. Every time I'm there, they're engaged in a variety of activities and genuinely having a great time. It's clear that there's a strong sense of community and joy throughout. Everyone I've encountered, both staff and residents, has been incredibly friendly and kind. I cannot believe the business manager from Discovery Management said to contact the executive…read moredirector, Lisa Grey. SHE IS A BIG PART OF THE PROBLEM! I strongly encourage the management company to reach out to literally every employee that has either left or been fired since Lisa Grey started. I highly doubt any exit interviews were done by either the previous management company or the previous ownership entity. She yells at employees and absolutely berates them. It is beyond horrible. Residents have moved because of it! Fabulous employees seem to disappear. All of this pales in comparison to the dangerous situations that have happened at assisted living in the past couple of months. On the third floor alone 1) A resident was trapped in their room by another resident outside the door. The aggressor resident has bullied the other person FOR MONTHS. The aggressor resident was then drugged. From my understanding all that was wrong with the aggressor person is a UTI that went untreated for too long. 2) A resident that doesn't leave their room much WENT MISSING for 48 hours. Then a 15 year employee who never even goes to the residents' rooms was blamed and fired for it. I personally adore the fired employee, Gloria. She went above and beyond to help my mother with her medication. I really hope Discovery Management checks the video footage before it somehow disappears. 3) A 92 year old resident was left by the weekend nurse on duty in the hallway. The woman was projectile vomiting, shakey, sweaty, and very ill. I desperately tried to reach the executive director LISA GREY. I got no response. And she never followed up with me AT ALL. An off duty nurse responded within the hour. I ended up reaching out to the elderly woman's son for permission to call an ambulance. She was swiftly taken to the ER by the hospital and treated for dehydration. The off duty nurse who responded late on a Saturday night is another employee who no longer works at the Forum. Her name is Belita. And she was beloved by the residents. Her replacement was brought in with ZERO ONBOARDING. Absolutely zero. Numerous things have fallen through the cracks since she has arrived. For whatever reason, she blames her predecessor, Belita. Blames her to the point that she tells the residents that Belita did not do her job. What???? Belita was on top of everything and ran a tight ship with those below her. I'm positive that a lazy subordinate employee played a role in her leaving the Forum. I hope this candid review forces Discovery Management to take a close look at the Forum. Furthermore, I hope they reach out to the previous employees like I suggested.

(tell her #124 sent you) It's not all retired people, there are younger adults + entrepreneurs & professionals of all ages. Ideal Spring Branch location near everything. From my first conversation, Monique made me feel welcome and reassured. She took the time to understand my dad's needs and personality and has gone above and beyond to help him settle in comfortably. The facility itself is beautiful--clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed to feel more like a home than an institution. The common areas are inviting, the rooms are spacious, and there are plenty of engaging activities to keep residents involved and connected. But what truly sets this facility apart is the people. The caregivers, nurses, and administrative staff are kind, patient, and genuinely care about each resident's well-being. Shout out to Shamika and Victoria. My dad is making new friends, feels safe, and even told me he "feels like he belongs" there--which is something I never expected to hear. If you're looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with respect, compassion, and dignity, I highly recommend Village of the Heights. My first step was speaking with the owner (TT) and he made me feel at ease and comfortable with checking the place out. I then flew to Houston and toured the place and the facility was very clean and the staff was very friendly. TJ, the manager (is a gem) has been so nice to work with, extremely helpful and gives me updates on my father (I am in a different state). Every time I talk to my father he tells me that everyone is very helpful and very nice to him! Picking a new home for an elderly parent is such a difficult and overwhelming process, Good Living Community made the decision and transition so much easier. Highly recommend!

I was given the name of Good Living Community Care by a placement company (sorry can't remember who but she was great too!) After 2 full months here at GLCC Mom has not been sick ONCE! The other $8500/mo. nursing home she was in the emergency room 3 times. Mom is happy and healthy and lucid finally. the Manager, Monica, is a real gem and God send. Everyone at this very personal care facility is helpful, accommodating to the point of unbelievable and just as sweet as can be. Wanni, the Asst Mgr, (def not spelled right) is absolutely fabulous, keeps Mom company, interacts a lot with her and makes her laugh. SO GOOD TO SEE! They even have a wonderful stylist who comes to make Mom feel beautiful, Iris Giron, washing, cutting her hair and doing Moms nails and she's very affordable. Speaking of which for all this personal care I pay less than 1/2 of what I was paying at the nursing home. Maritime Pharmacy, takes care of all Moms meds, they have a RN visit as needed and a physical therapist 2x's a week. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place is!
