The Hangout Café has quickly become a place that holds a special spot in my heart. As a new resident of Lodi, I've been searching for a café that not only serves great coffee and food but also offers service that goes above and beyond to brighten your day. And I can confidently say that The Hangout has exceeded every expectation. A few days ago, I was having one of those days when everything felt off. I'd had a rough workout earlier in the morning and was feeling down, unsure how the rest of the day would turn out. But in an attempt to mend things, I decided to stop by The Hangout. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a server with curly hair (I didn't catch her name, but she was lovely). What stood out immediately wasn't just her welcoming smile, but the genuine enthusiasm she brought to the table. She had an infectious energy that you rarely see at nine in the morning, and it was impossible not to feel better just from being around her. Instead of rushing through the order, she took the time to ask how I was feeling and what kind of flavors I was in the mood for. Her attentiveness and personal touch immediately made me feel both welcomed and valued. She went on to share a few of her favorite items from the menu, and I appreciated how thoughtfully she guided me through my options. After some great suggestions, I decided to try something new--the Iced Tuxedo Mocha and the Deluxe Crepe. The service alone had already made my visit worthwhile, but then the coffee arrived. The Iced Tuxedo Mocha was, hands down, the best mocha I've ever had in my 19 years of life. As someone who loves exploring new coffee shops and finding cozy places to study/work, I can confidently say this drink completely satisfied my expectations and then some. And the Deluxe Crepe? Phenomenal. It was so delicious that I forgot about the rough morning I had. What truly made my visit memorable, however, was how the service impacted my day. By the time I left, I felt like I had been recharged--not just by the amazing food and coffee, but by the warmth of the service. My mood had completely shifted, and the rest of my day was filled with a sense of calm and productivity. To anyone in Lodi looking for a café that offers more than just great coffee and food, I wholeheartedly recommend The Hangout. Stood at the front for 5 minutes without a single person acknowledging me. There was a person standing behind the counter. It was not busy. Staff should be more mindful of checking the front. Maybe they can put a bell on their door so they can hear when a customer walks in. read more

Came in here opening day and even though they were BUSY we still got our drinks and food faster than expected. I thought with how busy it was it was gonna take a while but we got everything within 10-15 min! The crew is amazing! Everyone had smiles on their faces even with how busy and probably stressed they were. I love going to a place where everyone looks like they want to be there! We got drinks and the BLT and a Biscoff Crepe. Everything was sooo good. There are also games for you to play. Our favorite was Uno Flip! Really fits the name. It really was The Hangout! I've only tried the coffee here, so my experience is based off that. My first visit, I walked in, was greeted, went straight to the register because I already knew what I wanted, but both employees walked to the back, so I had to wait to order. After about 2 minutes, one of the employees came out and took my order. They weren't busy, at all, meaning I was the only one there, but it still took awhile for my order to be ready. The wait was worth it because my eggnog latte was delicious. I couldn't wait to take my husband, so he could try this latte. Today, we went back and the place was crowded. I placed my order for a medium eggnog latte and waited. The ladies ahead of me received their drinks, so I expected my order to be next. When they called the next order, I couldn't hear the girl's soft voice, so I asked what she had just called. It wasn't my drink, so I kept waiting. Then the people after me received their orders. I was then told my tag fell, so they'd make mine next. Another couple got their drinks, and then finally I got mine. I walked out before tasting, which was probably a good thing because the look on my face couldn't have been good. The drink tasted like Eggnog mixed with water and was so overly sweet I couldn't take another sip. My husband tried it and also couldn't drink it. He ended up going back and getting a refund. I have been coming here for about 6 months but never stayed to enjoy the beautiful downtown vibe. The food was delicious, as usual, and the drinks were perfect. The Hangout is gem of a bistro! I had a sandwich with pesto aioli on the best ciabatta bread, and a decaf americano in a REAL mug. It is a perfect place to relax, people were even playing connect four and cribbage. I went back for breakfast and had sourdough avacado toast with sundried tomato and prosciutto. My girl and I came in here today and got a BLT on sourdough bread, a grilled cheese, and fruit teas with popping boba. Right as we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile. We didn't feel rushed to order even with how busy they were. The crew was amazing. They are very accommodating and friendly! The drinks were perfect. They have so much to offer. From sandwiches, crepes, milk teas, fruit teas, coffees, and frappes. The atmosphere is great! It is definitely welcoming and their name fits. They have games for you to play and Hangout! I took a friend here on Thursday for coffee and a sandwich the lady who took our order was RUDE when we asked questions since it was our first time there she was also very rushing..note we were the only people in line, everyone else in the whole building was sitting eating. we both ended up getting severe food poisoning immediately afterwards, we were throwing up and lived on the toilet for 2 days. Both of us had to miss work. i called on friday the afternoon we felt sick, i spoke to a girl named Janelle and she told me that she processed my refund and id have it back in 2 days. 5 days later still nothing so i called and spoke to Jocelyn. She told me that they came to the conclusion that i in fact did not have food poisoning and the lady Janelle said i had a "tummy ache" and i would no longer get my refund. Unprofessional. You don't get to tell me how i felt after eating your food. For being a new place, i would expect way better employees and management. i am disgusted. referring back to the OWNERS nasty lying comment. i came in one day, you have the receipts to process the refund so you know what was ordered. nobody got a bacon sandwich. nobody got a frappe. we got iced coffees , only thing that was added or changed to the sandwich was the cheese. Fat shaming people who give you business is disgusting and you can tell how professional you are as an owner. "Tummy ache" was never spoken by myself, look back on your calls and MY card being spent and come back to me with how many times i came back to that disgusting place. I came to Lodi for the holiday's and came here a few times as I heard it recently opened. It was by far one of my favorite places to eat at. Not only do they have a great selection of items and the food was delicious, but the service was amazing. During my time in Lodi I visited this place about 4 times with friends and family. We all ordered different things from the great menu selection and I have 0 complains about the food. Unlike other places in this area the portions are reasonable for their prices and it is a great option to grab a quick meal after walking downtown and exploring the area. The food was also served quite fast. My first time there was the 22nd after I got to Lodi and I had a smooth and amazing first visit. The place was full of people and yet the people serving me did an amazing job at handling the situation. I've worked in the food industry in the past and I know how hard it is to work fast and efficiently and still be nice when there's a long line of people, and one is under stress, but the girl taking my order that afternoon managed to still have a smile in her face and made sure to offer great customer service, when taking my order she was patient and waited for my family and I to decide what we wanted to order. She asked if we had any questions and further explained the menu when we asked for recommendations and had questions due to allergies. She made us feel welcome and was understanding after we took a bit to decide what we wanted. She apologized for how long the food took to be out even though it was served fast for the amount of people there, but the fact that they apologized shows that they care and they try their best to satisfy customers. I loved this place and my only regret was not trying other things from the menu and visiting one last time but I know I will definitely be back soon. read more
