I ordered the California Crepe with chicken to make it more filling. For the price and portions you get with the crepe and side of potatoes I think is reasonable. My crepe tasted as fresh and savory as I once remembered years ago and will continue to stay as my go to. I'm also a carb fanatic so the choice between salad or potatoes was a no brainer. Cooked thoroughly and great sized pieces. I was craving some more seasoning for my entire meal so this was the reason for the drop in one star. The restaurant is small but has always been accommodating. There is also outdoor seating too if you're looking to get some vitamin D. Over the last 20 years, my friends and I have been to many different local eateries. I can't believe we had not yet visited Crepeville! We arrived around 11:30 on a Saturday morning. It was not super busy outside so we chose to sit at one of the outdoor picnic tables. Three of the four of us went in to order. The line wasn't bad, so that process wasn't terrible. We did have to wait longer than we thought we would have, but we were very pleased with our orders! The Chicken Curry Crepe was flavorful and a great portion size. I ordered it with a salad on the side. I ordered the dessert crepe (Strawberry Crepe) to go and it held up pretty well. I love that the crepe was thin and fluffy. I paid $17 for a pancake combo meal. This included 2 "pancakes", a side of scrambled eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon. To say I am pleased after my meal is an overstatement and to say I am full is a lie. These pancakes were the smallest cakes I have ever laid eyes on. Now the eggs and bacon were exactly as you'd expect, considering how can one possibly mess up bacon and eggs. But the pancakes, good lord. The size is just unacceptable. $17 for what isn't even 4 ounces of pancake batter is a flat out scam. Not to mention the shear thinness of these cakes, by goodness. Now, maybe I'd let this slide if the quality of the cakes were outstanding, but if you've read this far, I'm sure you know that isn't the case. They taste like the most basic pancake. You want to know how they taste? Go to your kitchen, start your stove, set down your pan, put down some batter, take your spatula and flip it, then serve it on your plate with some syrup and it'll taste almost identical. There is nothing wow-worthy here in the pancake department. You would have a better experience in terms of taste and bang for your buck if you ordered a hot cake meal from McDonald's and that isn't an exaggeration. Even IHOP would treat you better. I was like ok I serve myself some water cool. Sat down like 5 minutes later they brought my food. The food was not bad I am planning to go back with my husband though so that he can come and try it. Potato's was delish well season crispy and soft inside delish the crepe is just a crepe but the eggs of course needs salt which I added and it was delish. Over all 4 out of 5 for the dish maybe put a little salt on top and on the crepe or something also the avocado needed salt no need to put to much salt maybe sprinkle and if the customer want more salt we can add salt from the table. Since I served myself water I asked the ladies from the register if I needed to put away my dish and they said they will pick it up and cleaned it. (Ok I though I was going to wash the dish) One of the ladies which there were about three I asked if I can get water to go and she gave me a cup asked if I wanted ice and I said yes and I served myself water. She seemed nice. The place seems nice it was in the morning and people were coming in and out. I did see that there were online orders which is great. I am giving Crepeville a 1-star review based on the customer service. I ended up at Crepeville on L Street only because both Sunny Side Breakfast and Kitchen 15 had over a 30-minute wait. Unfortunately, I wish I had waited. I ordered the eggs benedict and politely asked for the avocado to be placed on the side, as I was sharing with a friend who has an aversion to avocado. The person taking my order--who I believe was the owner--looked at me and flatly said, "No." I asked if she was serious, and she gave a smirk that I assumed was a failed attempt at humor. When my food arrived, the avocado was tucked under the poached egg. I went back to the counter to explain the issue, and the owner told me that removing the avocado would require remaking the dish--and that it would cost extra. I reiterated that I had clearly asked for it on the side, and she told me I could just scrape it off myself. To top it off, the table next to us mentioned they had been waiting over 30 minutes for their food. The entire experience was frustrating and unacceptable. Upon walking into the establishment, we were greeted by a very friendly employee. As the line quickly grew behind us, she swiftly took our orders and we found a table outside to sit. Less than ten minutes later my tuna melt with breakfast potatoes arrived fresh and ready for consumption. The tuna melt and breakfast potatoes were good and satisfied my craving at the moment. i've eaten here a countless of times, the service was alright but I normally don't talk to them unless i'm ordering my food. They are kind of rude at times whenever I ask for some napkins or more utensils, like as if i'm asking them to do a big task. But the girls who serve me are teens so I don't expect much from them. I do wish they just served us iced waters instead of the self served waters because who is drinking jalepeno flavored water, that is just strange.
