Not good not bad, just so so Food 3 stars Arrive 3 stars Arrived around 3pm and placed our order right away. What we ordered. Eggs Benedict - 3 stars Only one egg had bacon and avocado Hollandaise sauce was barely there Order served cold I had to ask for bacon, avocado, and more hollandaise, but by the time it came, the food went from cold to colder. They were nice when I asked for more. Seafood fettuccine 3.5 stars Not much flavor We also order a glass of brut champagne They brought us a Chardonnay instead They did correct the error as soon as we mentioned it. Overall, its was ok food but I was hoping for more.

We met for book club here. Our server, Rafael, was great! Very attentive. Service was excellent. I ordered the Brie burger. I was looking forward to having the creaminess of the Brie cheese in a burger. However, the Brie was lacking in my opinion. Or, maybe because it was overflowing with grilled onions. Don't get me wrong, I love grilled onions. But there was so much it wasn't enjoyable to eat. And extremely messy. Disappointed. The fries were on point though! The rest of the food from what the girls said was great!! But that will not stop me from going again. Great spot. Great atmosphere. Loved the live music.

Food is really good. We ordered steak sandwich and a Burger and both were delicious. Te portions are good. Service is really good, all staff are very friendly and very polite. The ambience of the place is ver welcome, the place is clean. We also ordered beers, if you like dar beer I recommend you to order the number 12 it is delicious, good taste, body and refreshing.

My dining partner and I came here because we were really craving salads and didn't want to go to one of the chain salad places. While their salads are not cheap, they are a much better value than other non-chain restaurants that serve salads because of their top quality ingredients and the sheer size. Initially wanted to do a half sandwich and half salad my dining partner and I each one is separate types of salads, but then I saw the steak sandwich and they did not do the half steak sandwich with a half salad so we ordered a full salad and order the steak sandwich where we each had a giant half chicken, arugula, salad, and large halves of steak sandwich, and we also got our second choice of salad Fugi Apple with candied walnuts by paying a four dollar upgrade to having it instead of the french fries. They do substitute a plain dinner side salad for the fries free of charge , but I wanted the special Fugi salad, which is so so good. The amount of high-quality chicken on the arugula salad was truly impressive, and the super soft giant slice of focaccia made the salad quite the meal! Initially, I was a little disappointed to see that the steak wasn't a whole steak and was sliced into three slices, but after I tasted it, it tasted like the most tender awesome steak without any fat or grizzle that a whole steak often comes with and it wasn't anything like a Philly cheesesteak which is something I don't like. So I was super happy with the steak sandwich. Cafe Dantorels is an order at the counter and take your number and be seated. Serve your own water, kind of place which saves on staff and seems to be quite efficient. Also allows for people that are dining with other people where they don't want to have one bill they can easily just pay for their own meal and not have a be awkward. The interior is inviting and there's a giant patio in the back that's covered for a large groups and then there's quaint seating around the exterior of the restaurant, which is my favorite. The plants have been growing up. There's lovely olive treason and shrubs. I really enjoy eating at this restaurant. Can't wait to come back for the wonderful crêpes.

Haven't been since I moved out of Curtis Park and was really happy to return! A friend and I met for lunch around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. I could be wrong but the inside looks like it may have been redone or redecorated and it looks great! The menu used to be up above the register and it still might be big I didn't see it. They do have the menus at the counters to order. I ordered the protein bagel which came with egg whites, turkey, spinach, red onions, cucumbers and pesto. I also ordered a side of chicken apple sausage. The bagel was amazing, but it was a little difficult to eat. Loved the chicken apple sausage too. I also ordered one of their coffee specials which was also good. The service was great and our food came out pretty quick. Once we finished our plates were taken. The water is self serve from two difference dispensers and there is indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a must visit in Curtis Park.

We wanted to try something new to us & decided upon this restaurant bc we were in the neighborhood. We could only find street parking but lucky for us it was close by. This corner cozy counter order up restaurant was surprisingly a good choice! I sat in a bench seat that did have a crack in it though. Next time we will sit elsewhere! They had outdoor seating & possibly upstairs too? My wife ordered her gluten free chorizo benedict & she was very pleased. It was more than enough that we had to take part of it to go. I ordered the Sacramento scramble & thought it tasted good too. My coffee was bitter at first but my replacement was better. Service was fairly quick bc we were very hungry! We will definitely return!

Spacious indoor and outdoor seatings. Efficient workflow: we ordered and grab our own table. Self Serve water on the side. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Clean Tables = My benedicts was good, it did not disappoint. The crepes were okay, only because the strawberries were super-sour and I'm a sweets person. We had so much space, so much space, for activities like our Scrabble boardgame.

I came here to meet up with some friends for lunch. It was my first time visiting, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a pretty chilly day, so I was hoping to find a seat inside. The place was quite busy and the line was long. A table opened up, so I grabbed it and waited for my friends to arrive before getting in line to order at the counter. I ended up ordering the half Fuji salad and a half BLT turkey sandwich. The salad was phenomenal, but the sandwich was a bit disappointing. It was fairly dry and seemed to be lacking any mayo or mustard, which would have helped bring more flavor to it. My meal also came with a side of potatoes, so there was a lot of food that I had to pack leftovers to go.

Our daughter gave us a gift card for Cafe Dantorels. We were downtown and decide to stop in. You may order from the counter. The staff were so friendly and bubbly. We decided on 2 Turkey Burger's with fries. At which time they hand you a number. The ambience is so inviting. There's an outdoor patio where you may be seated. Our orders were served pipping hot with lot of flavor, oh my goodness so fresh. Mmm good. We will return The only downside for me was that they don't serve domestic beer like Budweiser or Bud Light.

Food, service, atmosphere: all great. Could not have been a better experience. The whole family, including my 2.6-year-old grandson, loved it.

Ham and cheese eggs benedict with German coffee in the background
    Gianna M.

Been here a handful of times and it always does the trick. Ordered the ham and cheese Benedict and never did I expect an entire sandwich then topped with eggs benny and it was incredible. It was huge and more than enough to share. The prices aren't cheap but the food tends to be quite large and very filling. I also had a lemon poppyseed scone that was very good, not dense or sticky. Also got the special German coffee which was one of the best coffees I'd had in a while. A coffee will almost always run you $8 ish in Sacramento but at least this one made me dance in my seat!

We had a great time visiting friends in Sacramento, on the way out of town we were looking for a deli style lunch site, our friends suggested Cafe Dantorels, what a great spot, located within the Curtis Park neighborhood. The location has a lot of character and charm, with indoor and various outdoor seating options for all party sizes. Parking is a little hit and miss but worth stop. The food, wow, lots of Cafe/Deli style favorites such as Crepes to Burgers. We ordered the Tuna Melt and the Cheeseburger. The Tuna Melt was good sized with provolone, mayo, tuna salad, roasted red peppers and red onion on wheat bread, my wife raved on the taste, on top of this it was served with fries (In-in out like) the dish was very good. I had the Cheeseburger, well done with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions on a soft bun, also served with fries (In-in out like), so good. The burger had amazing flavor, it was a large patty fyi and also served with a pickle. There are so many other food options this is the type of spot that you can visit over and over and not grow tired of their food. The setting is unique, built on a corner of a main road, its surrounded by an amazing neighborhood, the interior of the cafe has many table size options, they also have a wraparound outdoor seating area facing the neighborhood or you can experience the covered back patio, it has a large outdoor seating section, it looked like they had ceiling heaters or heaters of some type. The entire location is well decorated, one of the most eye catching were the various planters along the outdoor seating area, not only do they give you some privacy, but they are also very appealing. As far as the service, it was fair, most employees were nice, but they seem very busy and focused on their task's vs the customers, overall a good experience. We really enjoyed the chill vibe.

Vegetarian - Crepe with a side salad. I preferred the house made veggie burger.

*** Vegetarian Review *** Great looking corner spot in Curtis Park - it's the old New Helvetia spot. Came for an evening birthday party and with all the celebrating, it slipped my mind to take more photos of the interior. But it's nicely decorated for the holidays. Feels like a Hallmark movie. Street parking was easy. Order at the counter like Cafe Bernardo. Would I come back? Yes, they make a delicious home made veggie burger, not just a doctored up Impossible or Beyond patty. Home Made Veggie Burger ($22, Grade A) - Chickpeas and white bean patty, chipotle mayo, lettuce, onion, jack cheese, tomatoes, dill pickles, and peas sprouts. The bun is toasted so you get a bonus textural component. The patty may look like a boring Garden Burger, but it is nothing like the frozen patties you find at a grocery store. It's hearty and packs a lot of flavor in every bite. The fries appear house cut as well and were nicely salted. Add a pickle wedge and this is a burger to definitely come back for. Bottom line. Lively, festive environment. Staff is very friendly. They offer much more than your basic Impossible and Beyond Burger so that should hopefully peak your interest to give this neighborhood restaurant a visit.

    Good place for kids?

Yes. If thinking children's party for example...I'd say yes (on the covered patio area).

I would give ZERO stars if that were an option. Our experience today at The Morning Fork was…read moreincredibly disappointing and, quite frankly, unacceptable. The restaurant itself was already VERY loud, with customers talking, laughing, and enjoying themselves. We actually appreciated the atmosphere because, as parents of a toddler, it made us feel more comfortable dining there as a family. Shortly after receiving our food, my toddler became upset and started crying. The OWNER approached my husband and asked him to REMOVE OUR CHILD FROM THE RESTAURANT. My husband, being the respectful person he is, complied and took her outside. At first, I was confused about why he had suddenly left until he called me and explained what the owner had told him. We had JUST received our food. At that point, I asked our server to remove the untouched items from our bill. I made it clear that I was more than willing to pay for anything we had already touched or consumed, but I was not comfortable continuing to give my business to an establishment whose owner had just asked my husband to remove our toddler. The owner then approached me, and I explained how inappropriate and upsetting I found the situation, especially considering how loud the restaurant already was. I could barely hear my own daughter over the overall noise in the restaurant. Her response was that "people were looking at me," which is why she asked my husband to take our daughter OUTSIDE. That response was extremely disappointing. She is a TODDLER. Toddlers sometimes cry. We were not allowing her to run around the restaurant, destroy anything, or behave dangerously. She was simply upset and crying. If noise was truly the issue, then why was our child singled out in an already extremely loud restaurant? What makes the experience even more uncomfortable is that we already felt we were greeted rudely by our first server. I do want to recognize the gentleman who was calling names for the tables. He was very kind and welcoming, and I appreciated his professionalism. As for the owner, I am extremely disappointed that someone who owns a restaurant would treat paying customers and their child this way. Families with young children deserve to know what kind of environment they are walking into. If children, or the normal behavior that occasionally comes with having toddlers are not welcome in your establishment, that should be clearly communicated to customers before they sit down and order food. We will not be returning, and I hope no other family is made to feel as unwelcome and embarrassed as ours was today.

Our group ordered a variety of items and most were happy with their orders once they received what they ordered. One friend ordered hard eggs with a side of fruit but was served runny eggs with a side of potatoes. As soon as the server was notified, it was corrected. Eggs were still a little too runny for her, lol. Hubby and I shared a chicken and waffles and burrito. It's a vegan burrito, but decided to add cheese. We enjoyed both plates, specially enjoyed the complexity of flavors in the chicken and waffle with the fig syrup. Will say portions were huge. He ordered the old-fashioned, which was initially very buzzy. About halfway into it figured out it wasn't stirred, leaving all the sweetness on the bottom and booze on top. We opted for the first available table, which was outside. Could use a few more umbrellas for better sun protection, but we managed. Overall good experience, would be nice if they took reservations. Not sure if I'd do it again due to the long wait and everything was very good, but not exceptional.
