    Turkey burger with French fries
    Roddri A.

Our daughter gave us a gift card for Cafe Dantorels. We were downtown and decide to stop in. You may order from the counter. The staff were so friendly and bubbly. We decided on 2 Turkey Burger's with fries. At which time they hand you a number. The ambience is so inviting. There's an outdoor patio where you may be seated. Our orders were served pipping hot with lot of flavor, oh my goodness so fresh. Mmm good. We will return The only downside for me was that they don't serve domestic beer like Budweiser or Bud Light.

We had a great time visiting friends in Sacramento, on the way out of town we were looking for a deli style lunch site, our friends suggested Cafe Dantorels, what a great spot, located within the Curtis Park neighborhood. The location has a lot of character and charm, with indoor and various outdoor seating options for all party sizes. Parking is a little hit and miss but worth stop. The food, wow, lots of Cafe/Deli style favorites such as Crepes to Burgers. We ordered the Tuna Melt and the Cheeseburger. The Tuna Melt was good sized with provolone, mayo, tuna salad, roasted red peppers and red onion on wheat bread, my wife raved on the taste, on top of this it was served with fries (In-in out like) the dish was very good. I had the Cheeseburger, well done with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions on a soft bun, also served with fries (In-in out like), so good. The burger had amazing flavor, it was a large patty fyi and also served with a pickle. There are so many other food options this is the type of spot that you can visit over and over and not grow tired of their food. The setting is unique, built on a corner of a main road, its surrounded by an amazing neighborhood, the interior of the cafe has many table size options, they also have a wraparound outdoor seating area facing the neighborhood or you can experience the covered back patio, it has a large outdoor seating section, it looked like they had ceiling heaters or heaters of some type. The entire location is well decorated, one of the most eye catching were the various planters along the outdoor seating area, not only do they give you some privacy, but they are also very appealing. As far as the service, it was fair, most employees were nice, but they seem very busy and focused on their task's vs the customers, overall a good experience. We really enjoyed the chill vibe.

Lox on a bagel in the forefront!

Cafe Dantorels is a great place for a leisurely meal! A friend and I met there today and sat outside on a perfect Sacramento morning. With lots of greenery and on a cute street, we luxuriously wiled away close to three hours! With free coffee refills, ordering at the counter, and plenty of tables, we could really take our time! I had Lox, cream cheese, capers, pickles red onions, radishes and cucumber on a toasted jalapeno bagel. Yummy! I hope to go back soon!

Vegetarian - Crepe with a side salad. I preferred the house made veggie burger.

*** Vegetarian Review *** Great looking corner spot in Curtis Park - it's the old New Helvetia spot. Came for an evening birthday party and with all the celebrating, it slipped my mind to take more photos of the interior. But it's nicely decorated for the holidays. Feels like a Hallmark movie. Street parking was easy. Order at the counter like Cafe Bernardo. Would I come back? Yes, they make a delicious home made veggie burger, not just a doctored up Impossible or Beyond patty. Home Made Veggie Burger ($22, Grade A) - Chickpeas and white bean patty, chipotle mayo, lettuce, onion, jack cheese, tomatoes, dill pickles, and peas sprouts. The bun is toasted so you get a bonus textural component. The patty may look like a boring Garden Burger, but it is nothing like the frozen patties you find at a grocery store. It's hearty and packs a lot of flavor in every bite. The fries appear house cut as well and were nicely salted. Add a pickle wedge and this is a burger to definitely come back for. Bottom line. Lively, festive environment. Staff is very friendly. They offer much more than your basic Impossible and Beyond Burger so that should hopefully peak your interest to give this neighborhood restaurant a visit.

Love the water feature on the covered patio out back

How have I not only never been here before, but not even ~heard~ about this place before?! It's a mystery to me. Paid my first visit here for a work-related group lunch. They were accommodating enough to reserve a large table for us on the covered patio. They have order-at-the-counter service and then bring your food to your table. All the food options were great and huge portions! The patio was very lovely and the inside was roomy with lots of seating options. I'll definitely be back!

    Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine

The chicken alfredo was great, I loved the bread on the side aswell. The service was top tier and lovely. However I do have a complaint about the water and soda that I was served. The Coca-Cola was very flat and unappetizing the water was also not good it tasted metallic and had a strong unpleasant aftertaste.

Banana bread latte & Spicy avocado toast

First off-- I'm so confused to why the ratings are so low for this place??? I had a brunch day with my girly pop and we LOVE this place. The staff is so wonderful, patient, and kind. Parking sucks, as it does anywhere in downtown. Street parking is your arch nemesis, but other than that; I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. When you enter, there are menus by the side of the door. When you're ready, you order at the counter, they hand you a number, and it's self seating. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the banana bread latte & a spicy avocado toast which came with a side salad. Everything was delicious!! In total, including tip, it was roughly $33. I know-- some of you are gonna think "wow that's so expensive" but hellooo, we live in California & inflation is a real thing! If you can't afford to eat out and tip for your service, then don't! EZPZ!

    Sacramento Scramble
    Melia A.

I came in very hungry and left very happy. This place is cute, i parked on the street (easily found parking) and the workers here were very kind. my only complaint was i paid almost $40 (pretty pricey just for myself). Other than that, I'm not sure why this place has low reviews. I especially enjoyed the sac scramble it was soooo good. i think since ive been coming here for a while now it looks like this place might need a few upgrades whether its different paint color, different decor. it looks a little dark and the same as its looked all these years so maybe that's why reviews gone bad. either way i'll be back soon. Thank you Cafe Dantorels for my yummy breakfast! :)

Cafe Dantorels is the perfect spot for brunch in Sacramento. My go-to is always the Sacramento Scramble which has chicken apple sausage, mushrooms, spinach, corn, onions, and jack cheese, and it's also served with potatoes and toast on the side! I've also tried their iced vanilla coffee before which was mid-tier, but their hot tiramisu latte was amazing. The latte art was even cuter-- just look at it! They ended up featuring my picture on their instagram which was really cool. The way it works is that you go in and order at the counter, then they give you a table number and bring your meal out for you. Pretty simple. The vibe of this place is also really cozy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a fire pit table. I love the outdoor seating especially during the fall and spring.

    Mexican hot chocolate
    Emeline A.

This place is a hidden gem! After a nice morning walk this place was a nice place to catch up w/a friend to have brunch. I had each a savory and sweet crepe and a Mexican hot chocolate. It was worth it and an awesome treat!

    Tuna Melt

As you walk into the restaurant menus are in a slot along the wall. The menu is very extensive and has breakfast and lunch/dinner options. The menu items have thorough descriptions so it took me a little while to decide what to order. You place your order and pay at the counter. A number will be given to you if eating in, and they will bring the dishes to your table. I got the tuna melt with the French fries but you're able to substitute mixed greens at no cost. The other person in my party chose the Fuji salad. There is a lot of sitting inside and outside on the patio. Today we chose to sit inside. Lots of other patrons were enjoying the shaded seating on the patio. My tuna melt was toasted on the outside so it had a nice crunch. The sandwich has a roasted red bell pepper inside so that was something different for me. The sandwich was good and so were my fries. The Fuji salad was tossed nicely with the vinaigrette dressing. The toppings were generous because there was plenty from the first to the last bite. The salad was a refreshing option. Parking was alright as I was able to find a spot in their small parking lot behind the building. Most likely you will need to park along the street. It's not usually too much of an issue.

    Spanish Farm Burger
    Juan R.

Café Dantorels makes some solid burgers. They do not skimp out with their topping portions, especially their guacamole on the Spanish Farm Burger, which is what I ended up going with. They also have a wide variety of IPA beers on tap. The place is relaxing with sports games playing on the television, making it a great spot to watch a game. The staff is great, super friendly people! The only downside would be the limited parking around this restaurant, but it is something they obviously cannot control. Otherwise, this is a cool restaurant that I would recommend people to check out.

This was a cheat day for my besties and I, lol. We were not expecting to have burgers, but also, who doesn't want burgers?! My bestie had been here previously and wanted us to try their Brie burger with candied bacon. I'm skeptical about Brie because of the rind, but my bestie told me to give it a stab, and thus I did! Wow, I have never imagined to have Brie in my burger and I think I'm gonna have to start, lol. For some reason, something as creamy as Brie melded so well with my patty and candied bacon! I didn't feel grossed out eating it, and actually wished I had more to eat, haha. The fries were also perfectly cut and fried. Each strand was thin and crispy, almost like In-N-Out! Additionally, their ketchup is homemade! What the heck?! That's awesome~ it had a little bit of a cinnamon kick and wasn't overly sweet, which paired well with my burger and fries. Service was well and beyond 5 stars. My bestie ordered a tea, which did take awhile to arrive. But when a server came to check in with us and discovered she hadn't received her tea yet, the server brought her two cups of tea as an apology for the long wait! Totally unnecessary but very much appreciated! There was also some miscommunication in the kitchen, and more tea kept coming our way too, lol. In the end, we had four cups of tea delivered to us, but the server told us to drink it all if we liked. Very sweet! The ambiance of the restaurant was very casual and seemed like a nice place for family and friends to get together. You pay for your food upfront and then find a table to sit at. 10/10 would visit again in the future!

One and Done - Disappointing Experience at Midtown Crepes…read more We won't be going back to Midtown Crepes after a truly frustrating experience. The food was disappointing across the board, but what really sealed it was the complete lack of communication from the kitchen. They substituted two different sauces for sausage gravy without telling us -- one of them was a mushroom sauce poured all over my wife's crepe, which she specifically asked to have on the side. She hates mushrooms, and her meal was completely ruined. The "smothered beignets" came drenched in a strange white wine sauce -- again, no warning or explanation. My mother-in-law's crepe had a bunch of extra ingredients that weren't listed on the menu, and it completely threw off the dish and ruined her breakfast as well. The crepes themselves were thick and rubbery, more like tortillas than the thin, delicate crepes you'd expect. We ordered regular beignets as a starter, but they didn't arrive until after the rest of the meals, making them feel like an afterthought. To top it off, my sister-in-law's pancakes were ice cold -- so much so they wouldn't even melt the butter. Service was just as underwhelming. It took our waitress three separate visits to remember lemons for our water. No apologies, no explanations -- just slow and inattentive. There are too many great places to eat in Stockton to waste a meal here. Midtown Crepes seriously missed the mark.

Before my big move to Washington, I made one last visit in February 2026 with some friends because I knew I had to eat here one more time before leaving. Since then, I still haven't found another crepe place that compares. If you want crepes, they absolutely have your back. I never bothered ordering much else because once I found my favorite, I stayed loyal to it every single visit! The spinach and crab crepe on spinach batter. SO good every time. They also offer gluten-free crepe options, which is nice, but personally the spinach batter was unbeatable for me. Now appetizers?? Escargot and French onion soup all the way, baby! The escargot was plump and soaked in buttery oil goodness, and the French onion soup was savory, cheesy, rich, and super filling. Writing this review is making me hungry all over again. My family has tried the French toast before and thought it adequate. Simple, classic, and exactly what you'd expect from French toast. No complaints there. The restaurant itself has a cozy, humble atmosphere with paintings decorating the walls, and there's a decent amount of seating. Parking can be a little tight since it's a one-way parking lot situation, but manageable. We usually entered through the main building entrance that connects with the neighboring cantina restaurant, though there's also an outside patio entrance. Service is where the experience could be a little hit or miss, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. I often preferred takeout because my order would usually be ready right when I arrived. Dine-in service depended heavily on how busy they were and what time of day you visited. Sometimes the servers were attentive and checked in frequently, while other times it could take awhile to flag someone down. Oddly enough, I noticed they seemed more attentive when I dined solo, probably because I usually came during quieter weekday mornings. I will say though, Danielle's Creperie holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me, especially with friends/family. It will always be one of my favorite comfort breakfast spots.
