Visiting from out of town and typically like to make sure I try as many local places as possible, however, I enjoyed Sweet Dee's so much I had them twice for breakfast and took treats for later both days. Dirty Pistachio Chai, Hot Chicken Biscuit, Tiramisu Donut, and Ferrero Rocher Cannoli, and Dee's club were all great, but the Bacon Jam Sandwhich on a Panini and Pistachio Macarons shaped as cacti were the stars for my boyfriend and I. The only thing we tried that we didn't love was the Breakfast Sandwhich but not because it was of bad quality, but rather the flavors felt bland compared to the other menu items. Okay so my good friend turned me on to this place, and Sweet Dee's Bakeshop is the bee's knees!!! The service is always top notch with the friendly employees and the shop itself is super cute (even though it's wayyy too pink for my taste, lol). There's a few bar height seats inside, but they also have tables and chairs right outside. I've been here twice now, and I'm glad there's always parking in front of the shop. Wow! Very unique. Not at all what I expected. My sister dragged me here and made me try a handful of items. Everything I tried was so yummy! I'm a chocolate lover so the tiramisu and the coffee bean was my absolute favorite. Their cinnamon rolls look bigger than my face. The service is so friendly, happy to answer any questions. I gave Sweet Dee's a 2nd chance after having a very poor experience several years ago and was impressed that the service had improved a lot with the desserts tasting MUCH better than previous. However their coffee still tastes awful but the macarons are delicious and I love all the fake fruit cakes they have! I haven't been able to do much because of health problems this past year & walking to Sweet Dee's has given me something to look forward to. Danielle is super sweet & she makes the best pastries. I worked in bakeries most of my life & never understood the appeal for macaroons but I definitely get it now! The donuts are fabulous, I'm obsessed with the cinnamon muffins & poppy seed bread. I paid $157 for a custom birthday cake that was completely RAW on the inside (photo attached). The texture wasn't just slightly off, the entire cake was undercooked and INEDIBLE Despite this, the business refuses to issue a full refund, citing the cost of the decorations and edible image, even though those sit on top of a HEALTH CODE VIOLATION! When I brought this to their attention, I was met with dismissiveness. Lynda claimed this has "only happened twice in seven years," but even once is unacceptable, especially when you're dealing with food safety. After the fact, I saw TikToks (after the fact unfortunately) from their own staff and customers including one where the pastry chef, Danielle, openly admits she was exhausted and ready to go home while prepping cakes, that just adds to the carelessness in my ruined order. They even had complaints about undercooked pastries during Butter Week, so clearly, this isn't a one-time issue. Cute bakery but horrible service. While I appreciate that it wasn't a sugar bomb as someone who doesn't love really sweet things, I would never have guessed it was cookie flavor if I hadn't ordered it off the menu. I actually didn't even finish it - it just wasn't good. I also tried an eclair and a crème brûlée donut. The latter was the best out of the two. We came here on a Saturday late morning. It was not busy at that time so we were able to pick out what we wanted. I decided on a sandwich, a pastry and a coffee. It did take quite a bit of time for our sandwiches but it was worth it I had the chicken and bacon jam sandwich which had great flavors. I did order a cold foam pumpkin spice latte which really didn't have too much pumpkin flavoring. My friend and I visited for the first time on Sunday afternoon. It was a bit humid inside. Service was good. The cashier was very patient while we had a hard time deciding what to get. There are two big glass cases filled with pastries that look pretty and delicious. I was surprised to learn that they also offer a big menu of savory dishes. There is a counter with a few stools where you can sit and enjoy your food & drinks. My friend tried their Tiramisu latte with almond milk topped with a ladyfinger. She enjoyed it and confirmed it does taste like Tiramisu. We got one of the mousse cakes that's shaped like a cherry, and two macarons - black cherry and Limoncello. I liked the light, airiness of the cherry mousse, but overall it was nothing special. The black cherry macaron had a little bit of jam in the center, which was a nice surprise. I needed the macaron to be more chewy though. The Limoncello macaron was over-baked and the cookie part was hollow. The taste was no different than a regular lemon macaron. It wasn't just napkins missing, but the entire area for straws and other essentials, including what would normally be a place to get complementary water, was completely empty. This was a frustrating detail given the long wait. Ambiance - When you walk in, you really want to love this place; it fits right in with the younger scene of Scottsdale. The aesthetic is defined by a floral pink atmosphere with stylish neon accents, creating a fun and trendy vibe. However, the physical space itself is a challenge. I heard of this spot from social media, specifically TikTok, as they like to do themed dessert days. I was excited to see them on Too Good To Go and bought a surprise bag over the weekend. Several parking spots available in front of the store and easy to find. I waited in line about 5 minutes as they took and prepared orders for customers. People were inside and some sitting outside enjoying their food. I let them know I was there for my bag and showed them my phone to verify. Some places have bags already made, while others will make them when you arrive, and the latter is what I experienced here. They packed three donuts in a container for me and I was on my way. Service was quick and friendly. Honestly, I was disappointed that I received donuts, since this shop has so many other pastries like macarons, mini pies, cakes, croissants, and cookies. If I wanted donuts, I would've gone to a donut shop. The ones I got were oreo, raspberry pistacho, and an aperol spritz. My favorite was the last one as it had an orange cream filling, even though the orange slice on top was bitter. The value of the donuts was $14 and I paid about half that, so it was a good deal. Where do I even start.... I sent an email about a month ago to customer order a vintage heart cake for my birthday. SweetDee's has all this hype on social media, so I thought it would be amazing! This place, cake, customer service, everything is bad. I asked for a Chocolate, Cream and Cherry, German Black Forest cake and got a Chcocolate and Coconut Cake. The cake itself was not cute, I think a child could write numbers better then their business can. We cut it open, it looked dry already and the if you put the frosting on your finger it crumbled into bits. I sent an email, left a voicemail. Never got a call back, so I called during business hours to go back and fourth with the owner about what our emails said. She didn't even bother apologizing until I repeated myself 3 times, I already had sent an email with pictures. Then she apologized, tried to explain what a German cake is multiple times. She said their was confusion on flavoring, but they never reached out for clarity or asked any further questions/ sent an email. She also said she would call me back, didn't do that either. Sweet Dee's is a MUST visit location whenever I'm up in Phoenix. From their coffees, which are always themed and taste incredible, to their adorable treats, you can't go wrong. Personally, I always go for their macarons. I feel that the pricing really reflects the quality of the macarons, which all have really distinct and unique flavors and vary depending on any holidays or shop themes. On my most recent visit, I got the Apple Crisp Cold Brew and the apple cider and orange zest cold foam was the absolute highlight of the drink, with great flavoring. I got a selection of macarons, choosing on of the apple cider, cinnamon roll, maple bourbon, and cherry almond flavors. My personal favorite was the cherry almond but they all had the perfect consistency and the cherry almond even had a fruit filling. Such a cute bakeshop with such pretty decadent sweet treats. It was a lot smaller in person that what I had pictured it to be and seen on social media. There's not much room to sit inside. I got a glittery pink strawberry donut and my friend got the strawberry crossiant wheel. It's a little odd to me that Sweet Dee's doesn't ask if you're eating there or taking out. They just pack it in a box which is fine. Plasticware with 1 napkin and no other loose napkins doesn't make sense. You definitely need more than 1 napkin. The space is so tiny so no bathrooms. No where to wash your hands after handling sticky messy sweets. The automatic hand sanitizer despenser didn't work either. That's not very proficient. The treat was delicious and service was good.
