My boss took about 21 people to the Harbour Grill this week and was completely taken advantage of. Our group was seated at two, separate long tables so it was difficult for each table to communicate. The waiter asked each table which appetizers they would like to order and not too long after, 15-20 appetizers were being brought out to their tables. After my boss began asking who ordered each one, he found out that only 5-6 appetizers were actually ordered by our group. Once he figured out what was going on, he told the waiter to stop bringing out the additional food! The waiter had taken it upon himself to take advantage of our large group and placed additional orders on his own! Would not recommend this restaurant for large groups! read more

I had such an amazing date night at the Harbour Grill!! I ate the Cote de Beuf served medium rare with sweet potatoe French fries. The main reason I give this place a 2 start is because they got the sushi right. Otherwise, the service was horrible. We were seated right away but were not greeted by our waitress until ten mins after being seated. At that time we were ready to order. She took our order and disappeared for an hour, to say the least. Our food arrived (finally) then when ready to leave, we ask for the check. Disappeared again. I couldn't wait any longer. I literally had to get up and walk to her with my card to just charge it. I would assume working in client service, you would feel bad or realize how long you've kept your tables waiting, and acknowledge it. Horrendous experience. One of our steaks was over cooked and the owner Gilbert told us that if we were unhappy there are plenty of other kosher restaurants we can go to. I told him I would write a review and he said that he knows he has 2 stars and could care less. As I was writing the review Gilbert asked me if we wanted him to pose for a picture and gave our entire table the middle finger. This triggered my dad to follow him and Gilbert ended up getting in a physical altercation with him and we had to call the police. As soon as I saw the commotion I ran to stop the fight and dropped my phone. I saw a waiter pick it up but didn't see their face. I asked all the staff and they all denied seeing it. After being brought to the back of the restaurant to speak to the police I used find my iPhone and located the phone down the street behind a car tire. This is how they treat their customers, they are thieves! Gilbert the owner is a young, immature, very dumb owner who should never be working in the hospitality industry. I am one for not listening to bad service reviews when deciding on a restaurant but the way this restaurant handles themselves is unheard of!! Be aware. read more

The owner Gilbert flipped my family off when we asked to replace an over done steak and complained that our table didn't receive service for 30 min. My dad upset went to confront him about it and he physically assaulted my 65 year old father. No shame. At this time someone in the staff stole my brothers phone and placed it in the street. For an establishment run by religious Jews they don't seem to have respect for anything especially other Jews. My brother was hesitant to come to a place so poorly rated but we heard the food was good and some friends wanted to go. Slow service is not something we haven't grown accustomed to in miami, but if a dish is not prepared as requested at a minimum it should be made again correctly. Funny enough after the owner flipped us off the chef was apologetic! He was a very nice guy and I feel bad he has to work for such a crooked person. We should have read the negative reviews more carefully before coming here. Everyone's complaints seem to be saying the same thing. Perhaps Gilbert should go through some training before he interacts with customers again. It's a shame we had to start year off with this experience, but perhaps others could avoid a similar experience though ours. read more

We have eaten here many times on our vacations to Miami. The food is very consistent and not cheap. The service typically is inconsistent it's hard to sometimes get the attention of the waitstaff. This is an indication of how Busy this restaurant is. Even as all the other restaurants in Balharbour are empty or lightly filled, Harbor Grill is packed no matter what the season. I absolutely loved it! Despite the slight costliness of it, the food was delicious, and the waiters were probably the most helpful servers I have ever experienced. They routinely came to check if everything was alright, they remade my friend's burger at no cost when there was an allergy issue (our fault for not mentioning it), and the environment was relaxing and elegant. I wish I could leave 6 stars! I walked in last night to a full restaurant with my wife. We were sat within ten minutes. Our waitress Jaclyn was prompt on greeting us and explaining the specials. We started of with a seabass roll that was exquisite and delicious. I had the Kings reserve which was melt in your mouth. My wife had the boneless lamb rack special with fig sauce. We had a beyond horrible experience at this restaurant!!!!! It was my sons birthday and we came to Harbor Grill to celebrate. Our waiter Coby was the most nastiest waiter we have ever had. To start off he took our order where we ordered sushi and some meat appetizers. We received the meat appetizers before the fish and being a kosher restaurant we asked the waiter why we received the meat before the fish. He tells us that we had to specify that we wanted the fish first. We then asked for water from 3 different waiters because when we asked our waiter for the water he never brought it to us. We finally got our water towards the end of our meal. Then we told him we never got the trio tacos that we ordered ( which were supposed to be one chicken, one beef and one brisket). When we got our taco's we informed the waiter that the tacos were all beef. He tells us he will see what he can do and walks away, never coming back to tell us as to why the order was messed up. When we asked about the issue he rudely responds "well you ate it." Then he walks over to take the dessert order and picks up a couple of dirty plates off the table to take back to the kitchen. As he is doing so he drops a plate on the floor and the oil that was on the plate splatters all over my mother in laws dress. Instead of apologizing he tells my husband " the plate fell what do you want me to do about it." At that point we were super angry. My husband gets up and asks the waiter why he has attitude every time he comes up to our table. He starts yelling back that he doesn't have any attitude and walks away. The nasty owner then approach's our table and instead of telling us that they apologize that we are having a bad experience tells us that apparently "we are way too demanding." Then then goes on to tell my husband that if he wouldn't calm down he would "call the cops on him." He then goes on to say that it was not the waiters fault and that it was hot outside ( as if we were not sitting outside in the heat). At this point we were done and I asked the new waiter that they sent us for the bill. My husband didn't want to ruin my sons birthday so he just told the new waiter to take out the chocolate soufflé. They bring out the Chocolate soufflé and as we are eating it, we find a piece of plastic in the ice cream!!! I have a one year old that was eating the ice cream as well and had I not noticed this plastic piece she could have choked on it!!!!!!As if the night couldn't get worse. When we showed it to our new waiter he was speechless and didn't know what to say expect for again apologize. This is a horrible restaurant with horrible customer service!! I never write reviews about restaurants but I felt like I had to let people know about what horrible way they treat customers especially the owner of the restaurant! It's an embarrassment!!! I called to say that we might be 10 minutes late. I was told that we have the table for 2 hours and the next party would have precedence. The soup was not what we ordered, the salad was not what we ordered and the entree was not what we ordered. The manager did not make it right and did not adjust the price of the bill. I cant even give this place a star. The service was absolutely terrible. The waiter spilled sake on me and denied it and said he watched the security cameras and I actually spilled it on myself. Then they served the carpaccio with black pepper after we told them that my Brother In Law was allergic. We sent it back. The hostess was wearing flip flops with gnarly feet exposed and her hair was flying everywhere unruly and dirty. At the end of the meal they brought over a "togo" bag and it had the carpaccio (raw meat) we sent back in a plastic bag. It was included on the bill as well. We disputed the bill and they refused to take it off. Finally they threatened to arrest me if I didnt pay. Then they tore up the bill and told us we didnt have to pay at all. I gave the waitress the 20% cash tip and left. They ended up charging my credit card anyway and I disputed it for 4 months and they still refused to take it off. We just went two days ago -- the steaks were excellent, we enjoyed the beef bacon salad, and had two delicious glasses of wine as well as a lovely lemon tart dessert. we thoroughly enjoyed it, except for one thing -- the noise level is rather loud. This was a terrible dining experience. The food was only decent but the service was horrid. A pricey eatery for a sub par dining experience.The four of us travelled over an hour to get there from Coconut Creek and arrived ten minutes late for our reservation. We were immediately told our slot was one and a half hours and we were going to have to eat in one and a quarter hours. They told us the soup special and we all chose the pea soup. They came back with only three portions and put on our soup on the table cold. They did not even care to get another order from our friend when sheas told they were out of the special since it was the lunch leftovers. They offered her onion soup which she did not want and just left.they just dumped our wine on the table.we needed to get the mager over just to get an appetiser to replace the soup. Only the house specialty steak was impressive but it was served with only a small serving of unimpressive french fries. The other steaks were rarer thsn requested and just ok. This is the 2nd time I have been to the Harbour Grill in the past 6 months. We were a party of 5 tonight and we all agree that the food is excellent. I was prepared to encounter less then perfect service due to the impressions of a minority of previous reviewers. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful service and friendliness provided by our server Madelina (or Magdalena) as well as the gentleman in the gray sweatshirt that assigned us to our table. We were in the restaurant the night that the owner so berated the elder couple that I would not go back. The owner should go to anger management courses. I know that we are locked into going to kosher restaurants but everyone desires to be treated with dignity. The owner was standing over the woman and pointing his finger. Unfortunately, we experienced slow service and we had the sliders to start. The meat was not warm. We also tried the avocado salad which was good. Avocado was moist and properly ripe.
