This is a quaint little corner tavern that really makes both locals and visitors feel welcome. We just had a few drinks while waiting for the Metra that was running 30 mins late. Our bartender was friendly and quick. She had us in and out (with roadies to go) in perfect timing to catch our train. The wood tones of the inside are warm and inviting. Good Soup! Great venue for watching football and sports matches on a Saturday afternoon. Service was attentive and fast...and the food was served piping hot. Chicken finger dinner was a big juicy crisp portion (steak fries or Onion Rings, yo!) as was the generous dinner salads (BBQ Salmon Salad was boss!), full-to-the-brim soup bowls and mountain of Pot Roast Nachos. Pub Club Sandwiches came with cole slaw and fries which were delicious. This place has been in downtown MP forever and serves great food, beer and drinks, spinning some great tunes. Mrs. P & Me is a charming neighborhood bar with great history. So cool to see all the pictures hanging from back in the day. Ambiance is comfortable and welcoming, and it's paired with solid food and friendly service. We've been there twice, and both experiences were so nice. The staff were warm, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the mushroom swiss burger, cheese curds, and seasonal nachos and chicken pot pie. You could tell much of the food is homemade which I so appreciate. The kids loved the chicken fingers and spaghetti with marinara. Nice portions and quality. We can't wait to check out the beer garden when the weather warms up, but we're huge fans of this local fam friendly joint! read more

I can only speak to my experience during the 56 Music Fix we came very early on Friday as our friend's band was the kick off act and hung out on the patio mostly drinking. The patio is really nice, spacious and family friendly. They had a pared-down menu, but we shared the loaded fries which were amazing! Think potato skins but with steak fries. Service was great overall. We had to ask for a new server when ours went off shift, but no big deal. Bar was crazy busy in the evening but the girls behind the bar were on it. read more

Luke warm clumpy cream of chicken with zero flavor. Orders chicken kabobs that looked like they had been frozen on the stick then just cooked right from freezer. Completely lacking of seasoning. The bed of rice was like eating rice soaked in lemon juice. I definitely did not enjoy the food. Good place for cheap drinks and bar food!! They have a very spacious outdoor area where I usually prefer to sit when coming here. Mrs. P and Me is your classic, old fashioned bar. It's nothing fancy, they have straight forward drinks with a straight forward menu. Everything here is pretty classic. I definitely recommend going here if you want to have a night out on the town with friends, this could definitely be a pit stop for drinks. You can also rent out their back room for any private events and have them cater. The food here is good, but nothing special - I always get a wrap or some sort of appetizer. If you ever want to get classic, cheap food and drinks around the downtown Mt. Prospect area, this is your place to go! read more

We went for the Trivia Night. We ordered appetizers, Jack, and ice cream on one night and the ice cream had clearly been refrozen after partially defrosting. On another evening I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and received grilled bread with your standard cheese "product". The service was great even though the staff was swamped every time we went. It's a very popular event even though the dj was too slow, we couldn't understand most of what he said. This was partially due to his equipment being poorly adjusted and partly because he didn't speak clearly. He apparently didn't preview his questions because he mispronounced many words and clearly didn't know anything about his topics. We didn't expect him to be an expert, but he ought to have been passing familiar with the details of his questions. We stopped going because he was so disappointing. read more

Stopped in on a Friday night, to sit on the patio. I have been asking a friend to come here for a long time and wanted to enjoy the weather. After ordering some drinks, a large group with several children came in one riding a scooter. The kids began pushing a newborn in a stroller around their table. Another group came in with a couple of kids who started playing in the dirt under the bushes alongside our table. I ordered ribs with french fries and a salad. The ribs were very good, the fries crispy with a season salt sprinkled on top that didn't have much flavor. My friend ordered a chicken wrap and felt it tasted better once he asked for a side of ranch dressing. When I asked our server what type of salad dressing they had, her response was "tell me what you like and I'll tell you if we have it." She never offered a drink refill. It took a long time to get the check and a long time to get the credit card returned. I am happy that the restaurant is family friendly and I can recommend it as a place where families with toddlers can get a burger and not worry about their kids, but this is not the atmosphere I was looking for on a Friday night. Great historic Tavern/Restaurant. Excellent service and great food. I sat at the century old bar with the original bar back. The place is beautiful. I had a simple but tasty corned beef on rye. Genuine amounts of lean corned beef in the sandwich. I asked for loaded fries and they were delicious using thick steak fries. We purchased a house within walking distance, what a great find. We have ate there many times with our kids and grand children and have been very happy every time. Staff is very out going to please your group. Food very good and cocktails excellent. The house it is in is over 100 years old, very clean and taken care of. Super loud and crowded on a Saturday night especially in the bar area. There is a dining room further away from the bar that'll get you some form of conversation friendly, if you like. We were on a train crawl between Palatine and Edison Park. Mrs. P & Me was our starting and ending point so we had drinks on the departure and appetizers on the return visit. Service in the bar was really very good and the drinks were cheap. Maybe it was happy hour? On the return run it was less crowded but still very loud so we sat next to the bar area in between the earlier mentioned dining room for appetizers where we had the same excellent service as before. The appetizers were chicken fingers and avocado spring rolls. Portion size was good and were served hot! Both dishes were tasty with the only downside for me was the fries that were included with the chicken fingers. Keep the fries and throw in a couple more fingers and if I want fries I'll order them. If I was in the area again I'd go back to try more of the menu. read more

Idk took my mom here for lunch bcoz she was ravin about the french onion soup. Um no. It was NOT good. First of all, it came out way to fast like a matter of seconds after ordering it like it was sitting under a heat lamp or something. The broth tasted like a chicken bouillon put in hot water with some onions and topped with Swiss cheese. I forgot my mom lost her taste after Covid. I had a rueben and they put Swiss and cheddar cheese on it! Cheddar?! No! The only think that was good was the Caesar salad topped with chicken tenders. Terri is by far our favorite server and every time we go, we request her table. She makes us feel like the regulars we are and always takes the time and talk with us. This place has multiple personalities. The bar is a fun place to meet with friends or chat with the regulars or bar staff. If you don't feel particularly social, you can sit at one of the bar tables and just watch the game on TV. If you want to have a meal with family or friends, they have a wide variety of foods for adults and kids in their restaurant section of the place. And in the last few years, they've expanded their eating / drinking / summer socializing area by adding outdoor seating. That's where we ended up recently looking for a place to sit and enjoy the weather. The tables are pretty well spaced on the patio so you're not crammed in next to others. The piped-in music is tinny and distorted (or maybe someone needed to tune the radio a little better). but for background music it was fine. Part of the reason I picked P's is because they now serve the impossible burger (or is it the Beyond..?). The burger was fine and reminded me of breakfast sausage more than ground beef. It was worth trying once, but I'm not sure I'd order it again if I was craving a real, juicy meaty burger. read more

I was entirely to lazy to shave to be outdoor presentable one afternoon so I decided to Yelp for a place to get a Reuben and a BLT for carry-out. I know the place fairly well having been there years ago when I frequented nearby Games Plus for Dungeons & Dragons game playing.
