Mashed potato balls Fish and chips Nice place with convenient strip mall parking. Batter is nice and light across the board and the cook is perfect golden brown. Everything is just bland, though. No seasoning in the batter and any nonpotato ingredients in the balls are undetectable. While not hugely expensive, it's not cheap for the middling fare. read more

Went on a Friday evening around 4pm. The place was already packed and super loud. Eventually they did open up the far side of the restaurant which I'm sure was much more pleasant. But as far as the main area, you pretty much had to yell to talk to the person at your table for a conversation which was annoying. I expect that later in the evening when folks are liqoured up. But at 4pm I don't know why the regulars were already there and shouting to make the place crazy loud. The food was good though and the pub feel makes me feel like I was back in Ireland. 1 star off for having annoying regulars that get loud when their isn't even a game on TV. read more

Our server was on the struggle bus for our entire visit. Food not brought out together - one in our party was completely forgotten. Asked for simple things like a water refill, pepper, a box for left overs. Then the bill came wrong twice - third time was a charm? We had a 80th birthday party with about 35 people yesterday. We opted for the brunch which was delicious! Eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, French toast and fruit. Was looking for a neighborhood place for St. Patrick's Day but never made it there until the week after. What a find!!! I feel like I'm sitting in an old Irish Pub and the people couldn't be friendlier. The food comes out hot and delicious! The servers are all very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. We had some appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and the ribs. They were all outstanding! Plenty of parking also. Check it out. Has a great neighborhood feel. We will be back again!! read more

Each time I come here I find new favorites. They continuously add new Irish dishes to the menu. The homemade Irish soda bread is so good and served fresh from the oven. The spice bag here is the best I've had! The owner Donal has a real passion for food - you can tell by the way he talks about recipes, some he shared came from his grandmother in Ireland. Absolutely average experience at best. Arrived as the place opened and already had some issues. The table we were seated at was not very clean at all and the kitchen wasn't really open. Apparently the kitchen and wait staff get to work the same time customers show up. While the service picked up and was attentive, the quality of the food was what disappointed me. The curry chips had fries that weren't cooked enough to receive sau e and curry was chunky and not bleneded. Wings were overcooked and had lots of hard meat parts. The prawns or shrimp cocktail was absolutely the highlight though, looked so sad that I could just imagine Gordon Ramsey scoffing at it on kitchen nightmares. Overall nothing of note on food at all. Not really planning a return trip. read more

I found this restaurant in Yelp! when I was looking for places that served high tea. While they do, we ended up going in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon instead. It was an unseasonably warm afternoon in mid October, and they had the large garage-style doors to the patio open wide, and the patio was full of people. We didn't realize that they had live music on Sunday afternoons, so we also happened in on the last 30 minutes or so of that by accident. And add to all that a birthday party taking place over by the musicians, with lots of balloons, and lots of people standing by the tables, loudly chatting. So, while we would have preferred a quieter place to enjoy lunch, it was quite festive for awhile, and when the music stopped and the crowd left, it was much more what we were looking for. (Note to self -- go back again, but avoid Sunday afternoons between 1 and 4pm if we want a quieter spot!) Our only hiccup (other than the noise, which wasn't really a problem, just unexpected) was when we tried to order a couple appetizers -- and they were out of both (the sausage rolls and the mashed potato balls). So then we ordered a pretzel, and they were out of those, too. I finally settled on a cup of the Cheddar, Bacon, & Chicken soup, and it was very good. For my entrée, I loved that I was able to get a corned beef and cabbage platter, and that I could customize it by removing the green beans and carrots, and by substituting the cauliflower mash for the boiled potatoes. It was perfect, and it was delicious! I ate half and took half home to enjoy a couple days later. (Yum!) My husband had the Reuben, minus sauerkraut as usual (he's weird that way), and said his was also very good. My Manhattan (up, two cherries) was on point, and service was great (and she was very apologetic for the sold out appetizers). I'm looking forward to going back and getting the corned beef platter with the same revisions, plus hopefully trying either the sausage rolls or potato balls this time, and maybe going at a little quieter time. (My husband liked it so well that he's already asked me a couple times when we're going to go back!) read more

I found this place on Yelp when we wanted a festive restaurant. It did not disappoint. The waitress was sweet and attentive, the food about what you'd expect at an Irish pub, and the live Irish Gallagher singers made our cold Harp and Guinness draft beers go down that much smoother. It is a very warm atmosphere, a great place to spend time with friends. So good, in fact, that I booked our party of 27 for the day after Thanksgiving here. The manager calls me four days before the event and tells me his party of 75 now wants more space, so he's kicking us out. So unprofessional. He should have simply said no to them, that the bar was full. read more

I go here at least once a month mostly because it's convenient, right by the Metra on NW Highway. The live music is usually good but one note is that it's loud so don't plan to chat with friends if you're there when a musician is on. The service has been hit or miss--sometimes we get a server who's friendly and attentive and other times, we have to flag our server down to order anything, so it really varies. The food is good -- you can't go wrong with curry fries and the pretzel. Magners and Guinness on tap are my go-to. Good place to hang out, watch sports, hear music. read more

I ordered through GrubHub and the delivery was timely and well packaged. Sadly the corned beef was tough and dry. The cabbage was undercooked as were the carrots and green beans. The potatoes were just right. The horseradish sauce might have helped carry this order however it was not included. Six days before St Patrick's day and they missed on this dish. I'd give zero stars if it wasn't for our server. I ordered the Irish stew which consisted of 3 pieces of beef, 27 carrots, 1 baby mini potato, and a boat load of salty gravy. My husband ordered the chicken curry which came with a spoon of dried out white rice, a small portion of "chicken curry" and some fries. What a disappointment!!!!!! It's in a strip mall, was busting at the seams with large parties, and every customer there gave us a good old-fashioned stare-down for walking in wearing masks (despite there still being a mask mandate in the Chicagoland area). Never felt more unwelcome in my life. The poor staff looked like they were trying their hardest, but what do you do when the locals are running the place? We sat down, took one look around and fled. It's a shame, because we'd heard so many good things--but with so many other authentic Irish pubs in the area, you're better off trying elsewhere. read more
