The pastrami is still on point but the portions just keep shrinking while the prices keep expanding. Remember when a large order of fries used to feed a family of 3-4? It's now smaller than what a small size used to be, MAYBE filling up a quarter of the paper lunch bag. Haven't been here in along time. Forgot how good the Pastrami dip sandwiches were. We ordered the pastrami dip, pastrami burger onion rings and and pastrami Chile fries. Didn't know how big the pastrami fries were or we would have only ordered them and shared it. Great tasting pastrami on the burger fries and sandwich. My all time favorite and my classic go to for pastrami cravings. The Hat is a local favorite and a MOST go to if you have never tried this place or if you've never tried pastrami. Their classic pastrami dip is good, but if you're a fan of chili cheese like I am, I would recommend the chili cheese fries with pastrami. It comes out to be about $16, but this is easily shared with 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. The small size for the onion rings is easily a medium size or even large in other locations, so you can only imagine how big a large order of onion rings could be. The Hat has never disappointed me and I am glad that I can come here with a certain expectation that is never unsatisfied. Warning to all of the people that want to go to the drive through late at night, the line can get pretty bad so it might be easier to just go inside and order togo! Every now and then, I would go to The Hat in the Brea section of Orange County for pastrami, or maybe burger. It's a pretty popular place to get some Pastrami Dips or whatever they got that's so good. So yeah, been coming here for years. If you like both pastrami and burger, you're in luck, they have Pastrami Burger which I've ordered for lunch today. Pretty good stuff I would say. It got pastrami, beef patty, lettuce, tomato, and thousand island dressing. Even though I've had great experience at The Hat in the past, I still need to check it out again just to be sure. The burger was heavenly good. I would got some fries with that, but the burger I got was enough for me to eat. Maybe next time when I get hungry or bring an friend with me. The service here is great. For those non-pastrami lovers that still want to accompany the loyal patrons for a meal, they also have several items on the menu for you too (although I cannot comment on any of them). My go-to meal to share is always the classic Pastrami Dip and an order of Chili Cheese Fries with Pastrami (guilty-pleasure). The Pastrami Dip is always loaded with pastrami to the point of having meat just oozing out of the sandwich. I can definitely split the sandwich in half with someone else and still be satisfied. The Chili Cheese Fries with Pastrami is massive. Honestly, you can feed a whole family with this thing and probably still have leftovers. They give you this gigantic mound of fries, tons of chili and cheese, and an overly generous portion of pastrami on the top. I am drooling just thinking about it. My husband loves the pastrami burger. I have not tried it, but it is his go-to menu item. I could never imagine veering away from my beloved Pastrami Dip. Can get a little pricey, but the quality, portions, and most importantly the taste cannot be beat. Totally justifies the price tag. Ordered a pastrami sandwich to go, and by the time I finished paying by cc it was already ready and they were already calling my number. Everyone was super friendly, from the moment I stepped inside to when I was walking out. The people in the kitchen, even though busy making our meals, always looked up to smile or wave.
