Can I just say this is probably my new favorite coffee shop? Wow! I was going through Woodland park…read moreto get to Cripple Creek and decided to stop for a coffee. Java Haus looked cute so you know, I figured I'd stop by. Umm... yes please! If you are driving through Woodland Park, I insist. Go. I got the white chai which is chai and a shot of white espresso. I also added a shot of vanilla. It was so good. I'm really bad at finishing my drinks so the fact that I finished a 16 ounce drink is highly impressive. It was a little spicy, a little sweet, and the white espresso was really lovely and not too strong. Also our barista was so wonderful. She was talkative and attentive! It was kinda quiet in the cafe (which is so perfect for a coffee date or even studying!) so I think she wanted to talk. Totally fine with us. She was great and made an even better drink! I cannot wait to come back on my day off to read a book, enjoy a drink, and next time, get a pastry.

We had just driven from Denver and had about an hour to kill before our Air BnB was going to be…read moreready for us - enter some coffee to re-energize us after our little drive. We found Java Haus, secured parking, and walked inside. Much to our enjoyment it was a really family friendly coffee shop, folks were sweet to our kids, and when I used their restroom I was surprised and somewhat impressed at their set up for nursing mothers - very accomodating. Now to the coffee - my husband and I both got their pistachio latte and our five year old enjoyed a cookie. I don't know if it was because it was a chilly spring day and I'd already been drinking exclusively iced coffee for some time, but that hot pistachio latte really hit in a way I wasn't expecting. SO good. The cookie was great as well and our five year old ate about half of it (it was huge) and my husband and I finished it up. The coffee shop had some Christian undertones and despite me not being very religious I didn't find it to be overbearing or unwelcoming to folks that aren't crazy religious. It really felt like a welcoming space. If I lived in Winter Park (and honestly I kind of wish I do!) I'd for sure be back and just enjoy the laid back ambiance here and read a book.
