Horrible communication and customer service

Don't purchase from here, these people should be shut down! Please go to best buy or somewhere else. I found a listing for a New Sony A80j 77in for 1,200 from this company, so I reached out via Facebook marketplace and they sent over the information for their business. I chose this TV because I purchased 2 of these for my old apartment prior to moving to Los Angeles. On 12/23/24 I drove 48 minutes to the place to purchase the tv. They had other models of tvs in their showroom but not the model I was purchasing. I bought the tv and they requested that I pay via Zelle, so I did that. I was given a receipt and they also gave me free shipping, which they said was a promotion that ended tomorrow. The delivery was set for 12/24/24 between 4-7. The Tv arrived around 5:30 on 12/24/24. I was pretty happy at this point because I was trying to have a tv for my family to watch while they're in town for the holidays. I setup my tv stand, then called a friend over to help me setup the tv because you need 2 people to lift this tv. We set it down, plugged it in, pushed power on and nothing happened. My excitement quickly turned to confusion. I was already a little confused because 1st the box said A80L and had stickers covering up the model and the tv was advertised as new but not only did I not have any plastic to peel off but I noticed minor scratches and the back of the casing had a huge bulge in the back. The tv light flashed red 5 times and I googled what that meant, It said that means circuit malfunction. So I immediately called and messaged on Facebook but didn't get a response. The day after Christmas I followed back up and told them what happened. Their initial response was," It should be working I checked it before it left our shop." I thought why do you even need to check a brand new tv? They then offered to replace it with another model tv but all of the options were mini led and not oled 77 or higher. Afterwards he said a replacement can come from Texas. I said, "I have family in town and we need a working tv now, I need a refund I can't wait that long" He then told me how they don't issue refunds, and that's why they have warranty. Magically another tv appeared in stock and could be delivered the next day. I get a message the next day saying it can't be delivered because of rain and they only have a flat bed truck. So then he said he just rescheduled for tomorrow. I asked if they have a tarp or anything, he said he doesn't want to risk me having another broken tv. Then said, "I waited this long already." I felt as if that comment was very inconsiderate. I said, I'll rent a box truck and just come there. He then said our warehouse is in Valencia and nobody is there. I said can someone go there now then? He said our delivery driver is gone for the day but I'll call him. I'm a very observant person, and it was 11am, and the delivery window is 4-7. I didn't get a call back after 2 hours and had to call him. He lied and said he called and left a voicemail. I informed him that denying me a refund for a defective product is illegal. They didn't mention anything about their "all sales are final" policy until It was printed on my receipt for the transaction. This company has clear deceptive sales tactics. I'm trying to resolve the issue with this company directly but I believe I may have to get my lawyer involved. My replacement is currently scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully I have a new and working tv tomorrow, but after our last interactions I feel as if this has been the worst customer experience I've ever had. I purchase thousands of dollars worth of tech, review gear, and work directly with major companies. I've honestly never had an experience this bad before. I wish I would've went with my first mind and purchased the latest model instead of the 2022 model I previously owned. Please don't shop here!

purposely delaying responses until they can't issue refund

tl;dr: Bought a damaged TV, they offered replacement, never sent it, offered partial refund, never issued it. Bought 2nd TV with dented screen, received a replacement 1 month later with more damage, neither came with remotes, and wasted 60 days getting refund. I strongly feel like they sell legitimate TVs in-person and purposely ship defects to online orders so they can submit insurance claims, but this is just an assumption. They're very kind and sound genuine on the phone but dodge emails like crazy, even costing me $233 due to their delays. I should've left a review after the first purchase so they would act responsibly for my second purchase but I was too naive. I'm writing now because it's bothered me for the last 2-3 years and others should know what to expect before purchasing. First purchase, March 2021, 65" sony x950H, $1100 (which dropped to $600 the following year). It was supposedly an open box recertified item. I called to make sure they were in good working condition and was reassured all their TVs are inspected before shipping and they "rarely" have issues (which I find IMPOSSIBLE based on my experience). The sales guy sounded genuine so I believed him and pulled the trigger on a large purchase. I'm not sure what time frame was quoted but I waited weeks for delivery. Immediately I noticed dozens of "dead pixels" which they said were just dust particles that shifted during delivery. They offered a replacement and went silent for 2 months. I reached back out in June to take them up on their alternate offer of a $233 partial refund because I was tired of waiting. They didn't respond for 2 MONTHS (August 16th) even though I emailed them 4 times. They finally said they would issue the refund but then said they couldn't since the transaction was over 90 days old (due to THEIR delays) and that I should dispute the charge with MY credit card company to get the partial refund. This was a sham, my credit card company (Chase) said there's no such thing as disputing partial charges. They have no way to only backcharge 20%. They also said the seller should be able to issue refunds anytime regardless, not within 90 days. By the time I got to the bottom of this I was busy with a home purchase/moving out of my apartment so I could not deal with this TV issue until after my move (yes this dragged on through most of my lease). After moving I needed another TV for the house and saw they had some good deals so I tried to get the $233 partial refund as a credit towards a new TV. I emailed twice and was ignored but needed to order a TV asap so I moved forward anyway. Since their last reason was the transaction was over 90 days, they would have no valid reason now since I would have a fresh transaction from my new purchase. March 2022, TV #2 was even worse the first. It had a huge dent on the screen but no major damage on the box. The TV was packaged in original foam padding so it seems unlikely the drivers dented it. The TV remote was also missing. They specifically state you need to open the box with the driver there so he can record official damages. The driver was very confused. He said they never stick around for damage checks but was willing to do so. He had no official process of recording damages so he wrote it on my shipment form. The company was quick to offer a replacement but it took a month and over 4 emails to even get the tracking info. They also said they would make sure to include a remote this time. TV #3 arrived even more damaged with a frame gap and frame pinching and still no remote. At this point I was 45 days into the transaction and was ready for a refund. I spoke to someone on the phone to arrange pickup and asked them about my refund from TV #1. He said I'd have to ask via email as the phone and email people are different teams... jfc. I ask via email multiple times. They'd respond to other questions but ignore anything relating to my owed refund. TV #2/3 refunded on day 60, no refund from TV #1. That same day I bought the same TV for the same price from Secondipity, arrived with NO delivery damage. Ordered a 75" sony from walmart for my dad and NO delivery damage. My friend ordered a 75" sony from costco with NO delivery damage. Bad luck or shady practice? idk.

Don't do it! You will regret it. Poor customer service even if you can get them on the phone. Defective TV. Going to dispute the charge and contact the better business bureau.

Be really really careful before purchasing anything from here. I bought a TV on Satturday night and canceled the order immediately because I didn't see it's open box. The seller confirmed the cancellation on Monday and emailed me they would refund fully. However, they charge me 10% cancellation fee and told me I agreed to their terms when I bought. But who will see the long and small terms words by words? Besides, in their terms, all TV maybe refurbished. However, it does not display on the purchase page. Instead, it display only in their terms. Coveting small bargains is my lesson, hope you don't be deceived.

Definitely not a scam!! Got a new Sony TV for little to nothing and it looks and works beautifully. Lovely staff as well, Bree and Roman really made me feel welcome. The candy bowl full of fruit snacks by the check out counter was a nice touch as well! Highly recommended if you don't want to over pay at Best Buy for a new Tv!

HDTV Spot Review I spend a long time to find perfect OLED TV for my living room and after a while I find this website HDTV SPOT online. Price for my dream TV (Sony A9G OLED TV) was pretty good $3000 - condition new but "open box" (Best Buy price was $3,500 for brand new TV). I was happy and called HDTV immediately, they told me that TV is working perfect, 100% functional, and has no manufacturer defects (it was sales guy who's name K). But this model was available only for pre-order and waiting time 5-7 days. I've dropped deposit on next day and my TV was delivered in 15 day. They charged me additional $100 for delivery. On next day of using my new SONY I started to notice some vertical stripes on the screen. It was visible on grey, green and blue colors (see photos bellow). This TV had the defect that calls "Vertical banding", and it can't be fixed. I've contacted HDTV spot and sent them a couple photos of picture and they promised me to replace TV as soon they get same TV on stock. It's been lasting almost for 10 month! already to get replacement TV or my money back. Every time when I call them they asking to wait couple weeks but nothing happening for 10 month!!! They can't replace the defective product and refuse to refund me. Definitley not recommend this company, they are just scammers! Daniel

Update: I finally received the refund after many calls and after they misspelled my PayPal email twice. Oh and they made me pay the paypal fee, so I received only $388.10 USD. So bottom line is, I originally paid $929.66 USD, got four broken TVs, and a year late no TV and I lost $541,56 and LOTS OF F**** TIME dealing with HDTV SPOT. Oh and I have many videos of the red light error blinking on two of the TVs, so it's definitively not user error. If you factory reset the TV, it works for a few days, and stops again, which is probably what they did when they got the TV back. It's a known issue on this TV model, NOT USER ERROR. read more

Luckily I got my money back from the credit card dispute. To all new customers stay away from this place defective TVs sold here, a lot of the one star reviews have been removed. Just spend the extra money on a new tv. instead of gambling with these people. read more

If you buy a television with them, keep in mind that their televisions have faults and maybe it will come out after the warranty expires and they tell you that you have to pay for the repair. read more

Iam going to start by saying I feel robbed! Yes iam leaving this a 1 star but it should be a zero...I got this sony oled 4k tv 2 weeks ago. We knew it had a few scratches and an horizontal line across the screen when tv was on. And we were ok with that knowing we were paying less money for an oled 4k tv. After taking the tv home . Paying someone to get it mounted we tried it at home and it started with this HUGE problem Tv started to turn off by itself and flash red light every time it happened. Sometimes it would turn off after an hour of watching tv sometimes only a few minutes after turning it on. Of course we called and tried to solve that problem with our 3 months warranty. We had to take the tv back and they said they would contact SoNY and someone would get it the next morning to fix it and if they were not able to do it we would get a replacement. Next time Noone called me so I just waited but still noone did so I called and told me everything was fixed and they were just testing it. I asked for a receipt or something they could give me about the information for the repair and they said they didn't have any. But I trusted them...when I went to pick it up there it was..my tv was turned off an flashing red...same problem..nothing was done! . I told them whats the next step they told me they will be calling me again . They have to call Sony and see if they either have a a replacement or if they can "fix it" I said ok...waiting for them to call me back..never happened!...so I called them...1 2 3 4 5 times..4 days in a row..Noone answers !...come on ? This is Soooo unprofessional . You can at least call me to give me an update on my tv !.?...iam calling and you don't even unswer the phone ?...so I decided to go there...I said where is my tv ! Is it getting fixed ? They guy told me they didn't have it anymore ? Are you kidding me ? Did they sell it again ? ..then they said same thing I have to call Sony? Really ?...they asked me if I wanted another replacement. But for 1000$ more ?. Hell no...so it can happen over again ? Now I just want my money back !...this is not a refund this is not a replacement. This is a bad tv they sold me and they knew about this before they sold it ! read more

I would definitely recommend buying a High quality flat screen tv here, they not only have all the top brands but also the best customer service. The employee working at the time, ( Kay) went above and beyond to assist me; and really saved the day helping me get a 2021 Sony 65inch. It appears as though this company advertises items for sale and in stock when that is not actually true... They will take your money and then string you along for weeks with no information about shipping or what was going on with your order. Only after I filed a dispute with my credit card company did I get an email that they had refunded my money. Avoid this place like it has ebola Do not believe their rebuttal to my comment either. I called at least 15 times over several days and never once did I speak to anyone on the phone. These people are liars of the worst kind. They had repeated chances to fix my one star experience. They did not answer the phone, call me back after I left a message, and when I finally got an email that someone was going to check on my order status and get right back to me... no one ever got back to me. HOWEVER when I left a message saying I wanted to cancel the order and I was reporting them to my credit card company for fraud my order was cancelled in a matter of hours... Seems pretty damn suspicious that they could not get back to me on my repeated requests for a status update but when I threatened reporting them to my credit card company they were right on it. Great disappointment. Short story: I bought a 3000$ Sony XBR, which I was told is a open box. Next day at home I noticed a cluster of white spots on the center of the screen. When I asked, he told me(without even asking to see the TV first) that that's screen damage and is not covered, and than he mentioned that he has me on video surveillance while checking the TV in the store. I had a Sony service tech look at the TV and he told me that that's pixel burn in caused by a logo and the TV was probably a store display. The guy in the store is very nice and knowledgeable with prospective customers, but these all change after money exchange hands. Too bad, I would have liked to make this my go to store If you don't want to gamble with your money, do yourself a favor and buy a new TV from a respectable store read more

Danny is great, he is super helpful and patient. I was able to find the exact TV my wife and I wanted 75% off what it normally would have cost. They have a great selection of affordable 4k TVs. If you are unsure when purchasing just look up the model number to see the specs. On August 3rd I inquired about a specific TV model they had. I was told it was in stock, working, and ready to be purchased. I drove from Long Beach to this place to purchase the TV. Upon setting it up at home, I noticed lines of dead pixels flickering down the middle of the screen. I immediately contacted the store and informed them of the defect. They first, tried to blame it on me transporting it to my house. I explained the care I took in transportation. They then said they do not give refunds but would give me store credit or send the TV to the manufacturer to repair. So I returned the TV August 4th and decided to send the TV to the manufacturer for repair since I specifically wanted that TV model. After such experience I felt stupid for making the purchase because they told me it was working but it did not. Fast forward 2 weeks, no updates and I had to call them to follow-up. Once I had someone on the phone, they told me they received the TV back from the manufacturer, damaged and had to ship it to the manufacturer again. They also said they had another TV same model that is being shipped to their store and whichever arrives first would be mine. Althroughout the conversation representatives continue to suggest /mention I can use store credit for another TV they have in stock. But, I specifically sought out this TV model and I do not want to spend any more money on a different model I didn't want in the first place. Another week passes and still no update. I have tried to call multiple times, leaving multiple messages to get an update and still haven't heard from them. I even called from a different number and the representative left me with no more information than before. They seem to be IGNORING both numbers and I have yet to receive a follow-up call. Now, 7weeks later from my purchase around $700 dollars spent on a TV I still don't have! Please people do Not do business with them Do not spend your hard earned money here. Save a bit more and go to Best Buy or somewhere else where you can get a refund for your TV replacement the same day. This type of business behavior seems like a scam read more

This place is a hidden gem!... Found them through a Craigslist ad and from when i first called them to when i arrived they were very helpful and talked me through what i needed. Also feel like they are more personable then big name companies like Best Buy and Wal-Mart. Danny was the man that helped me and talked with me thoroughly about all TVs and got me in the right direction of what I was looking... I have no doubt that experiences vary, but when you're told that a TV has no defects, that's what you expect. Unfortunately they attempted to sell me 2 defected TVs that were both explained as "having no issues, tested, looks great"..... BOTH had vertical or horizontal lines. The false advertisement was shameless in this case. Sure, we "worked out" a refund. But now I'm down $400 for they're f*** up. Went to Costco, spent $100 more than what HDTVspot wanted and got a drastically better OLED model (LG CX). Zero defects and a warranty! Ok lesson learned, but I'm hoping others don't fall into this mess. With their policies, not worth it if you just so happen to be the customer they decide to screw. Good luck read more

Highly recommended! I've been telling all of my friends about this place and how the owner, Roman, stands behind the TVs he sells. I purchased a 65" Sony TV for a great price. When it developed a display panel fault after a few months, Roman took care of me and had it repaired free of charge even though I neglected to buy a warranty! I was not satisfied as a customer I'm on my 3rd or 4th tv from hdtv spot always top notch customer service . Unfortunately for me today I go in to exchange my tv I called in advance. I went in today I was told I had to leave my living room tv until the next day so they can have a technician look at it because my sound is going in an out. So instead of allowing me to pay more for another tv I'm told I have to wait not happy about it! read more

Fellow Yelpers I have been scammed 2nd week of ownership the TV had stuck white pixels on my screen I texted Roman no response the next day they went away and I thought great I no longer have to worry about it at night I turned on the tv a bright white line appeared in the middle of the screen then a black thin line appeared on the screen.This TV is obviously defective He described it as new on our offer conversation hence the 3k for the TV ,Roman's attempts to discredit people with very similar TV defects is enough evidence that no one should do business with him and offering me a discount on another tv not exchange or repair, Why would I spend $3,000 for a TV with you that doesn't work properly then spend more money for another TV that may have similar problems .I did not damage this TV but after reviewing the BBB and plenty information on the WEB I see this your strategy to discredit your customers that have been cheated. Had a pretty awful experience in terms of customer service. I ordered a new 77" Bravia from them a week ago to date. I didn't get an order/delivery status after 3 days so I checked back and saw that the status indicated they were getting my order ready for delivery. I emailed them 3 days after I placed it and did not receive a reply. I then called two days later and left a voicmail. No replay. Today I called back to complain and that I needed an answer by the end of the day. I received no call but an email notification that elected to CANCEL my order with absolutely no communication. Customer service like this is absolutely unacceptable. They wasted a week of my time while I am waiting on a new TV for the Superbowl party I will be hosting. read more

Dream come true ... I finally got an 80". The deal was incredible I got 45% of what Costco sells them for. Got it installed last night and all I need to do not is upgrade my Netflix subscription so that I can watch some 4k movies. I definement recommend going to this shop in Woodlad Hills. I made an online order for several TVs and the bill was for $600. This amount was taken from my account. Shortly after we received an email saying that our order had been canceled and they would fully refund us the $600. It has been over a month and we have not gotten anything. When I contact this company HD TV spot for help, they state that they no longer can give us a refund, that they use QuickBooks and QuickBooks close their account. They provided me with a one 800 number for QuickBooks, with no contact person, contact department, instructions or help of any kind. In writing, the company instructed me to report the charge as fraud, so that my credit card/bank would reimburse me the money. The fact that the instruct me to do this in of itself is fraud. This was not a fraudulent charge, nor was it identity theft because I did indeed place the order. It's this company's responsibility to correct this error and send me the read more

Yes, some items are coming from hotels, such as what you find here in Van Nuys, but those also can be items built a little bit better that mass produced cardboard. Not always, but sometimes. I love Hotel Surplus Outlet as a place to peruse a few times a year, especially if I want an interesting piece of art, or a chair I won't find at....Hmmm, where DOES one go to find a chair these days, Wayfair??? Anywho, HSO is also a good place to pop into if you host gatherings more than a couple of times a year. They have quite a few items from hotel kitchens and room service, think chaffing trays, as well as dishes of varying styles and sizes, all usually in multiples. If you need to furnish an apartment or home on the cheap, maybe starting with dishes and utensils, this is a good option. Also, check them out for used weight room equipment, treadmills and stationary bikes. Some of my friend's best long-use bowls, I recently found out, came from HSO. I didn't even know she enjoyed coming here as well! If you work with electronics, there are many kinds here and I would think at least some could be used for spare parts for repair shops. Patio furniture? Lighting? Bedding? Artwork? Mirrors? Hey! Need a landline phone??? Come check out HSO. When you walk in you will see a few pieces to gradually introduce you and prepare you for what's to come. There's also a front desk if you were wanting to ask about something in particular. If you just want to leisurely walk through and get inspired, you are welcome and not trailed with a salesperson nagging at you. Some days I don't find anything but inspiration for what my house COULD look like if I cleaned it, but most of the time I just like seeing if there's anything I didn't know I needed. Last September I was looking for a MCM style bar cart. HSO had quite a few, but not exactly what I was looking for. Tip: If you do see an item, make sure there isn't more than one. Great affordable clothing, comforts, services and food. It stays busy, but rarely feels overwhelming. It's very close to the Van Nuys Train Station for the Amtrak + MetroLink and being off Van Nuys Blvd it's connected to a lot of local LA Metro busses/services like LADOT DASH. It is really a ZERO stars but there is NO option. This place does not use any names. There is no manager or owner and children answer the phone. If you google them you cannot find the owner's name or a manager. There is a name of Roman K. in one link but that isn't a full name. According to another link the so called company is worth 5 million dollars. How can a company that is worth this much money-NOT have a name to the OWNER? They hide a tiny link to a policy of NO REFUNDS at the bottom of the page and even after talking to about 10 different people today, no one mentioned the policy to me even though I was asking for a full refund of the money they stole from me two days ago. Yes, they are thieves and frauds and have no actual owner or manager for the company at all. I asked each and every person I spoke to and no one ever responded but would try and direct me in another direction so they did not have to answer the question. The last call tonight was a child who answered the phone stating they were the age of 21 but sounded like my 14 year old child. Each and every person that either spoke to me or emailed me (no names in the email responses) felt like they had no customer service skills because how can you answer a phone for a business and not be able to direct me to the manager when I have an issue with my order. Then the one guy who called me and didn't give me his name either, actually hung up on me and yelled at me telling me I was wrong about the fake tv they were sending me. I also did not know that these tv's were re-boxed and returned to a store- this is not what the advertisement showed me that I clicked on, it appeared as brand new- no mention of it being returned in a box previously. Lies, fraud and scammers- that is this company...never should have been able to make the amount of money off people that they have by scamming them and not having a legit business- SCAM--FAKE Business!!! I am out $110 because of them and now can't get my kid the tv I wanted to for their Christmas present now. But the worth 5 million dollar company? - big fake money banks could care less about others--just out to scam and make money off every single naïve person (that I even purchased from them as I went off the fake BBB report--how do you get a report for a company with no owner I will never know)--a company that is worth this much would do everything possible to keep customers- not tell the customers they are wrong and argue with them over and over and over again. These gen z and millennials pretending to have a real business with no customer service training- maybe worth 5 million now, but next year could be out of business due to their terrible customer service skills and shady tactics to hide and not be open and transparent- people can feel that energy and don't trust places like this--it might take some time, but I am sure it won't stay in business with the bones of this fake company on super shaky and non-transparent ground- ***UPDATE--a few minutes after I posted on here, I received a refund FINALLY. While I appreciate finally being listened to in my request for a full and complete refund which they did, I should have never had to go through everything I did yesterday and today (5 straight hours of emails and phone calls) as well as be treated the way I did by every person that answered the phone, called me or responded to an email- mostly those who called me and responded to my email- probably was Roman K.--the founder and owner with no last name on here or anywhere on the internet connected to the business--I am tired and having every employee not give me a name the entire time----IS STILL a problem that others might want to consider--it doesn't make any sense and screams still of fake business to me. 6:45 pm CST-ANOTHER Update: another response from (WHO?-I do not know--the man behind the curtain in the wizard of Oz?-the world may never know)...and the response starts off with: "You are crazy! We refunded you in full." in response to an email I sent them like an hour ago and they just refunded me 5 minutes ago and never said they would refund me in any conversation today. I think at this point, it is basically just gas-lighting me. Still not a fan-at all. ---12-3-21: My response to Roman below- I never got a name of a manager OR the owner from any of the over 10 people I interacted with yesterday and they day prior. ***To clarify- I called 15 minutes after I placed my order and spoke to someone telling them specifically that I wanted to "cancel" my order and wanted to make sure this happened BEFORE they shipped my order out. The website says it can take "days" to be ready to ship BUT I received an email 6 to 7 hours later that my order had already shipped. I ordered a TV from them online. It's likely that the store experience is completely different, but, simply put, this is the worst purchase I've ever made in my life and I'm now stuck with a lesser product with no recourse after having my e-mails ignored and getting hung up on by an associate. The problems started early on. The HDTV Spot handles its deliveries via the most terrible delivery company imaginable, CEVA Logistics. I scheduled the delivery online and they refused to deliver it and wouldn't tell me this. We had to call and hold for nearly an hour to get a person on the phone to even get the actual delivery scheduled. When I actually got the TV, I was appalled. Either it was horribly damaged in transit (which is possible, given how horrid the delivery company is) or it was not inspected. There was a clearly visible red light that I could see on the screen, among several other very noticeable issues, including a couple of damaged spots on the screen itself. I emailed them to try and get a replacement sorted. However, The HDTV Spot doesn't answer emails. We called and left messages. The HDTV Spot also REALLY doesn't like to return phone calls. We learned to call at a certain time of day when a gentleman named Kay would answer. Kay promised that they would get another TV in and ship it out the next week. I waited. Nothing. Called back, Kay said the TV was no good, they were getting another one. He made no effort to convey this while I waited. This lasted 2-3 weeks. I got my credit card company involved. After that, the business contacted us and let us know the TV was going to be on its way Eventually, we did get the tv, but it took over a month after I received the first one. Dealing with CEVA the second time was pretty much the same. They didn't want to deliver and we had to call again. We got the TV and, yes, it was a lot better. I had some issues with it still, but I desperately wanted this to be over. We didn't want to play phone tag with Kay anymore, we didn't want to wait days for CEVA to deliver the TV after it had been sitting in the warehouse. But, over time, I noticed more and more issues with the replacement TV. There's a cluster of dead pixels on one side, the backlighting is horribly uneven in certain parts, and most egregiously, I can see what I suppose is a grid of LEDs visible behind the screen. As I became more familiar with this, I started to notice it all the time. I write reviews on media for a living, so my TV is necessary to me. While going about my day, I'm frequently impacted by its issues. Before the three-month warranty was up, I'd had enough and decided to go through it again. I e-mailed The HDTV Spot with a description and pictures. No reply. We had to call a few times to get Kay back on the phone, which he didn't seem happy about. I have a hearing issue and tend to do all my communication via typing, so I need to have a relative help when I'm forced to make phone calls. While having my relative attempt to relay the issues, Kay started insisting that there was "dust trapped behind the screen" and that it was somehow my fault. From what I can gather, my relative and Kay got agitated while speaking to one another which resulted in Kay hanging up on us. My e-mail was never replied to and Kay never made any attempt to contact us again. The three-month warranty window passed. Now I'm stuck with a TV that I'm horribly unhappy with and there's nothing I can do. If you're ever considering ordering online from this company, I urge you to reconsider. I can't exactly buy a new TV now, so I'm going to have my work impacted for the foreseeable future due to this poor purchase decision. I wish I would have spent another few hundred on a brand new one so that I could have avoided this. The price was decent, but I should have known better. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! These guys will lie, cheat and literally try to steal your money. Website says your TV "will be guaranteed to be 100% functional." Turns out that's a lie. The truth is their "Limited" Warranty "does not cover up to .01% pixel outages." So in a TV with 4,000,000 pixels, apparently up to 400 of them can be broken and they will sell the TV anyway. When I complained about the broken pixel on my TV, they blamed Sony, blamed OLED technology, accused me of "bullying" them by quoting from their website, and argued that everyone who writes negative reviews about them on Yelp! are people like me "who throw a fit over not getting their way." It's true, I do get mad when a store sells a defective product and refuses to even admit they did wrong. I told them I was disputing the charge to my credit card and shipped the TV back to them. They lied again: They told the credit card company that I had "not contacted [them] or allowed [them] to remedy any issue." One more lie: They told the credit card company that I had both their "funds and the television." Luckily I kept copies of my emails and a copy of the shipping records to them. I got my money back. The really sad thing is that they probably will sell this same defective television to another fool like me, and when she/he complains they will lie some more, try to keep 10% of the amount paid, and just keep going. **Avoid HDTV Spot - Bait and Switch Tactics, Poor Service, and Defective Products** I ordered a TV from HDTV Spot, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Initially promised a 5-7 day delivery, the process dragged on for over two weeks with almost no communication from the company. When I finally managed to get a response, I was informed that the model I ordered was out of stock and was pushed into accepting a different model, which felt very much like a bait and switch. Upon the TV's arrival, I discovered a significant defect--a vertical line running down the screen that severely impacted the viewing experience, rendering the TV almost unusable. I contacted HDTV Spot immediately, only to be met with silence--no replies, no resolution. This situation feels like a clear case of taking the customer's money, delivering broken merchandise, and then disappearing. Their customer service is non-existent, and there seems to be no regard for the quality of the products they send out or the satisfaction of their customers. I strongly advise against purchasing from HDTV Spot. If you're considering it, please look elsewhere to avoid the frustration and disappointment I experienced. read more

The HDTV Spot is a great place to get your HDTV/3DTV sets! I bought a 3DTV Sony 55X930D from them from ebay December of 2017, and at that time I was getting a surgery on my back, and I asked them to hold it for me for a few days, possibly a week. Sadly, it took me 3 months to pick the set up due to complications with my surgery, and the entire time they held it for me and were awesome about it, and they kept it in great shape the entire time, and I am so grateful for their patience, and professional attitude that I went back and bought another set of the same type about 3 months ago! I love these 3DTV sets, and the HDTV Spot store. The people that work there are very nice, and they helped me get the tv in my car, and I am so happy about the place that I plan to go back again and get another 3DTV set from them sometime in the near future! I recommend their store to anyone that wants a great HDTV/3DTV set for a great price, and if you have any questions I can guarantee that they know the answer! I purchased 4 TVs online from The HDTV Spot Team. Order 3054 on December 6th for $600. On December 10th HDTV sent me an email saying they canceled my order and had refunded me in full. The refund never happened. When I reached out to them they asked me to wait since it would take a couple of days to reflect in my account. Then they claimed that it was QuickBooks fault and gave me a generic number to reach out to Quickbooks to figure it out myself with them. HDTV didn't even provide me the name of a person in their company to follow up on this. They even try to help. I trusted their website, whatever happened to my money is their responsibility, not mine. I did my part of the agreement. Y paid for the TVs, they didn't fulfill the order. It is not MY problem as they claim, it is their problem. I had to purchase other 4 TVs for my small business and now I am $600 negative because of their irresponsibility and lack of accountability and good faith. read more

About 2 months ago I purchased a TV from the HDTV spot. It was the best experience I have ever had. The customer service was great the owner was great the salesman was great and the TV that I purchased is the best TV I have ever owned in my entire life. I would recommend this store to anyone who wants to buy a TV for really good price that will work for a really long time. I purchased a TV with a small blemish and it's like it's not even there. Roman the salesman told me that the blemish wouldn't be noticeable and I had my suspicions and thought maybe he's just saying that to sell the TV. But no he was right I have never seen that blemish again when I'm watching my TV it's like it's not even there and it's the best TV that I could ever purchase. I just moved to California from Utah and was in need of a TV for cheap. I couldn't find what I was looking for at Best Buy, Audio/Video Center, and Target that fit within my budget. I went on Craigslist to checkout what was on there and came across The HDTV Spot. Long story short these guys are awesome! I was able to demo any TV I wanted to and in addition I got to check out the 3D functions the TV I was interested in had to offer. I ended up leaving with a 43" Sony 4K for my bedroom and a 65" Sony 4K for my living room. My kids are happy they're able to watch all of their 3D Blu-Rays now and I'm really happy with the excellent service and all of the money I saved by checking this place out! Best service by HDTV Spot - Oscar. I had bought a Sony LED TV over 4 months ago and last week it had a problem with the picture. Since the 90 day warranty from HDTV Spot was over I started calling places to get it fixed. I Spoke to a few and even sent videos of the problem. 1 company said, the LED screen is busted so junk it. Another guy said it will cost him $225. I went back to HDTV Spot and asked Oscar to help me. Even though my warranty period was over, Oscar and HDTV Spot owner was kind enough to take the TV, get Sony to take a look at it and repair it. Seemed to be a $20 buck loose connection. Happy camper! Ordered the tv online, but first called to make sure they are legit. They are!! So many cons out there. Kay in sales was absolutely outstanding, he knows everything about the TVs he's selling and had the right answer for everything. I was between 900h and 950h Sony led. After speaking with Kay I quickly figured out which one was better for me! Shipping took a little while which is also understandable during these times. I highly recommend all my friends and family to the hdtv spot they are the best out there. My tv is amazing perfect shape! Packing was fantastic, they add an extra layer of support to the screen by placing a cardboard sheet in front of it, great idea! Will be back for my next TV! read more

Saw them on Craigslist. Came in today and purchased a xbr75z9d 75" Sony Bravia smart tv ! Staff was more than helpful and extremely honest. The best part about it all is that I saved 50% from any big box store that I went to. Right before going to the HDTV Spot I saw that frys had the tv open box and when I showed up the tv had huge scratches on the screen, no remote, nor stand. I accidentally came across the HDTV Spot and they had the tv I was looking for for half the price... no scratches, had the stand and remote. Just got it mounted by their install guy grant and I couldn't be happier. I paid $300 for a Sony 43X85K 120Hz TV after confirming the listing and messaging with the seller. However, after the deal was made, the listing was changed, and I was given a lower-end Bravia 3 model instead. I have screenshots of the original listing and our conversation, clearly showing this was a bait-and-switch situation. When I asked for a refund or an exchange, I was ignored and then blocked. This is deceptive business practice, and I'm disappointed by how it was handled. I've filed a formal complaint with consumer protection and will be pursuing further action. I researched and found THEHDTVSPOT for Sony HD Tvs. I decided I wanted a 4k sony, 55 or 65 inch. The prices and inventory are clearly listed at THEHDTVSPOT. I thought surely, this is some kind scam as I could not find any poor ratings. When I go there and met Roman (the owner), I see why there are no poor reviews. Roman knows his inventory, knows exactly their capabilities and features. I could not be more pleased with my purchase and with the service from Roman. came into this store saturday afternoon to purchase a tv for mom and i couldn't be happier. the store is packed from floor to ceiling with tv's i was amazed. mario helped me pick out 3 different tvs and after seeing them on i picked the 40" samsung- it had the best picture quality ive seen. i ended up purchasing a warranty for her tv since she always seems to have trouble with electronics. it's a smart tv and i told the man at checkout my mom might have trouble learning to use it and he gave me his card and told me to tell her to call him and he will walk her through the setup. went above and beyond what i would have expected from a small store front, thanks again!!! read more

What the other reviewers say is really TRUE!!! Friendly, informative and helpful staff. I was looking for a sound bar for my workout room. They had a brand name that is well rated and sells for $400 on Amazon for $200!! HALF PRICE!!!!!!!!!!! I asked them to let me take the sound bar I was buying out of the box, and then I forgot the accessory pack sitting on the counter...... AND I live in LAGUNA BEACH, a 70 plus mile drive to go back. They popped the package in the mail on Monday (I made the purchase Sunday) the next day and I had it on Tuesday(TODAY). This place is very awesome! Roman takes his time to tell you every issue with whatever Television you want and offers you various options. He is not pushy like most sales people in most shops. The best part is that all their products are open boxes and not refurbished as like other shops. After shopping around for a new 65" smart tv for my living room at Costco, Best Buy, and Frys, I decided to stop by the HDTV Spot. I had a good idea of what TV I wanted after spending hours in the big box stores, but Raphael was nice enough to show me a few other models. I was so impressed with the prices, I ended up leaving with 2 TVs and stayed under budget! I bought the Samsung 3D 65" I wanted for $1000 less than I could find anywhere else AND a Sony 55" 4K that was on sale for $999 for my bedroom. Amazing service, and the TVs look great! After reading all reviews. I am very scared to buy a TV from you! I have had enough problems with contractors scamming me. Had to take two of them to small claims court which I won. Also took my homeowners association to small claims, which I want. I am so scared anything I do anymore! If I bought a TV from you and it did not work right. Buy with confidence! The name says it all if you are shopping for a new HDTV then this IS the "spot" These guys know their stuff. I couldn't be happier with our new 65" Samsung they made it fit my price range and I wound up buying additional bells and whistles including soundbar and wall mount!
