I had…read morebeen in my own car, pulling into a parking space in a private hotel lot, when several unknown cars sped towards my automobile. Their speed & direction frightened me. I drove my car forward to escape their pursuit, but I was unable to get away. After over 1/2 hour of being trapped in my car while they hit it with their vehicles and caused it to be totaled, I lost the battle to escape being carjacked. One of the men took a glass cutting tool and use it to cut & crack the driver side window. Then he reached in and unlocked the car and they dragged me out of the car. I thought I was going to die. They loaded me onto a stretcher, cranked me up a ramp into the back of the antiquated ambulance. The gurney was not affixed to the sides of the ambulance and there was no one in the back with me. So I was shifting and bumping around in the rear of the vehicle. I was driven to Parkview Care. I was in total shock. I found myself @ an unfamiliar place. I have no recollection of having my cell phone, my purse or anyone explaining to me what was happening. The gang passed me off to a pleasant young woman, who brought me inside. I was in shock and covered with glass. I can't remember if she was an RN, or a nurses' aide. I know no one undressed me or put me in a gown, but I was covered in shards of glass from the shattered window. There were sharp little pieces of glass sticking into my face, in my hair, in my clothing, in my underwear, in my shoes, pricking me everywhere. I was very cold, battered and bruised. The personnel were quiet, detached & uninformative. I have a vague recollection of being attached to the standard temperature and blood pressure devices which read out on the monitor. Hours passed, at some point a Physician Assistant came in and we spoke. I know I was cold, tired and very afraid. I prayed. I seemed to have no authority. No one asked me to sign any consent forms. Various random medical diagnostic test were ordered. No medical treatment was provided. After midnight my husband was contacted and he came and picked me up and took me to a local hotel. We eventually received an exorbitant ambulance, and hospital bill.

Sooo refreshing their people, place and processes they have keep things humming, efficient and amazingly effective. They are head and shoulders above Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and am super impressed with the doctors and therapists there. Don't waste your time with SNFs--which are a waste of time and awful experience (bad food, light weight/non-existent therapy, poorly managed). If you are thinking of trying out this place, feel free to message me for more details, but they are the crème de la crème from what I have experienced thus far.

Man, I fly up and down the stairs right now thanks to the technique learned. Shhh, don't tell my therapist, but I do now take two steps at a time going down the stairs. From the medical staff to the therapists, the team was A+++. There seems to be a culture of service at the company that carries through everyone. I'm missing all of these people asking me how everything is going and if I need anything at home. I may even have to admit I enjoyed the 7:00 am therapy sessions (I'm not a morning person). Only observation was that as a diabetic the food was a tiny bit challenging. The team however was always ready to replace a dish if needed.

In a 2025 Update I hope they have s room for me again as I'll need a place to stay for 8 or 9 days…read moreafter my Hip Replacement Surgery as they will be able to make sure my MRSA does not flair up. I stopped in the other Day and was happy to see some of the same staff that really helped me during my last stay review below. I had left a GOOGLE review but thought they would appreciate this one. I was embarrassed a bit as I remembered one of my favorite staffers an OT's name as she really helped me relearn how to walk. I forgot the name of a lady that helped me every day face palm . I don't think she recognized me when I said hello , as she was nice it is OK it has been well over a year . I think I also recognized the lady at the desk but I don't remember her name being Jay lol on her tag. I dropped off some fun 3d trinkets and Chocolate for the staff (aha I trust she shared lol it is OK it was squirreled away , seriously the worlds best chocolate bar flown in from Dubai) as I was originally a scheduled for Surgery on the 13th to wind up there the 14th, then it was rescheduled and I figured I may need bribes lol and I'll be on my best behavior I promise. At any rate I would have spent more time but everyone was busy managing and helping everyone. I did get stuck temporarily in the elevator with a friendly nurse , we both thought is the elevator moving , happily the door opened and wound up singing in a stairwell to laughter from somewhere , a song for Sloans, great acoustics. Oh there are plenty of elevators as well , I'm laughing as I was probably pranked :) If I go back I'll definitely bring an acoustic guitar as the place is missing music. Inside joke I'm a legend in my own mind and the bingo was fun as well but their are Bingo sharks in there. I was recently published coauthored Inside NeXT available on eBay so yes I'll continue to write , so more entertaining than one would expect , Time Traveling an adventure from a guy immobilized in a bed surviving MRSA saved by angels, I had to relearn how to walk , crazy stuff oh my happens when portals open up at sloans , fiction and non fiction why be boring, , some all ages , some you find in the overly romantic book clubs meets cosmo lol some kept secret squirrel aha . It is/was always a fun mix of folks of all ages , staff is great some true gem personalities , yes names changed . I don't know if a handlebar mustache is a requirement with an old timey hat , ha but that would be kind of funny. Including the chef hat making the pasta. ## Original review I have been here 6 weeks and have made friends with a lot of the staff. They have been friendly , responsive and very helpful . I was thankful for them helping me learn to walk again and it has been a 2 1/2 month journey as I almost died from sepsis. I'm finally going home tomorrow. . The PT and OT staff are amazing . The food depends on the chef lol doesn't it always as it can be fantastic or not so much an alternative there is a great cafe in the lobby that makes an awesome burger $4.50 add fries 1.50 :) yes I would recommend Sloans Lake Rehabilitation center, incredible view of Downtown Denver and or the mountains and lake . My parents in their 80's found it convenient for practically daily visits as well. It is also kept clean and the staff in previous ratings no longer work here and management is not afraid to justly make personnel changes when justified . Overall everyone is on top of it and I have enjoyed my comfortable stay here. Best regards Rob Blessin President BHI

She had on a neck brace, and an arm sling. The first day when the CNA came in to take her vitals, I asked him if he would be coming to help her go to the bathroom when she needed to go. He said he would just put her in a brief (diaper) until the next day when she would get evaluated. I told him he would NOT be doing that because she could walk to the bathroom but would need help with her pants. He said he would but she ended up going herself. The next day the CNA helped her into the bathroom but never came back to help her get her pants back up. The food was always cold. We told everyone she can't have beef. We even wrote it on her order form every day. Yet, she always got served beef. We also ordered finger foods because it's hard for her to eat with her neck brace on. They still sent her mashed potatoes and cut up meat with gravy. They didn't try to help her eat so she was always hungry when we got there.
