Included in our reservation at The Pell was a free breakfast (entree plus beverage) for each of the four mornings of our stay. Over the course of our stay we enjoyed the Pell Special, French toast, and veggie omelet. On the downside was one morning's meat lovers omelet that was overdone and close to tasteless. On our last evening we decided to have dinner in-house starting with a shared arugula salad that was lightly dressed and delicious. For an entree my wife chose salmon while I focused my attention on the scallops. Each proved to be surprisingly delicious so we would not hesitate to return. We ate here for Valentine's Dinner while staying at the Pell. To be completely honest I was very disappointed with the experience. We had reservations and waited about 15 minutes to be seated though the host was very nice. They were going to sit us on a 6 top in the middle of the restaurant but moved us to a smaller quieter table as we didn't need such a large table. We ordered shortly after being seated. I ordered the prix fixe menu with came with salad/soup, an entree and a dessert. I also ordered off the kids menu. I ordered mocktails for my kids and a cocktail for myself that came out quickly. I'm a tequila lover so I got the naked and famous which I loved. After our drinks everything went downhill. We then waited almost an hour and a half for our food. I tried to get our servers attention multiple times to ask why the wait was so long. She never bothered to check in with us to let us know we would be waiting so long. I looked over and noticed that the 6 top who sat and ordered well after us had already received their food. When I called our server over to ask if she could at least bring out the soup or kids meal so that my kids wouldn't starve. She stated that she couldn't bring anything out until the kitchen brought everything out together. She said the kitchen was backed up and kind of shrugged me off. Again, I ordered a prix fixe so why would all the courses come out together? That makes zero sense. I pointed out that the family who ordered after us had already gotten their food. She rolled her eyes and walked away. At this point we were already waiting for 1 hour at this point. Normally this behavior would have had me walking out but we were staying at the hotel, had already waited an hour and it was Valentine's Day so anywhere else would have been busy. A few minutes later she brought out some soup for my daughter, no apologies just matter of factly like she did me a favor by bringing out our soup. The table next to us asked her for some fries as they also had a child starving to them she apologized and replied not a problem I'll bring out some fries for you. When we did get our food we were disappointed with everything besides the kids pasta. The pasta was the only thing that tasted ok. The salmon was burnt and the sweet potato puree tasted old and really had no flavor. I missed the part of bacon bits in the green beans so that's on me but the bacon with the salmon did not go together at all. The chicken sandwich was dry and lacked flavor while the fries were okay. I asked for the dessert to go because I didn't want to wait for another hour. She first brought it out on a regular dish then took it to the kitchen and had it mushed in a Togo container not separating the bread from the cream. When I did finally take the dessert to my room I did not enjoy it at all either this was hard and I would not call it bread pudding. It was literally chunks of bread with cream spread on top. The hotel itself was fantastic but our experience at the restaurant was horrible. The front desk was apologetic and accommodating when we checked out however so we will definitely come back to stay at the hotel, but will most likely avoid the restaurant. read more

Based on the ratings and their posted menu - went for jazz and lobster roll. It is a diner inside of a hotel lobby. The jazz music was a standing bass, an electric keyboard and a very amateur vocalist who drowned out all chance of conversation at 6PM. The side door where the parking lot and host stand are was locked. So we walked through the hotel and into the restaurant and saw no staff. Walked to the host stand and the bar tender yelled "grab any table". Did not require a reservation. Did not have lobster roll on the menu. Seating booths were free standing so your bench moved as you sat down. In the end - the staff bent over backward to try to please us - but there wasn't anything for our one party member who had severe food allergies which a lobster roll was the solution. So we opted to dine elsewhere. This is a suburban spot near strip malls. Not a downtown or cute village vibe. I can not tell you how good the food is. The servers were very kind but this is not a medium nor fine dining experience. read more

Lentil soup - $12 for a small cup. The Helmway Chicken Sandwich - I enjoyed this the most. Crispy, fried chicken served with fries. Scallops - $36 for 4 pieces of scallops. 3.5 It's hard to rate this place definitively. The restaurant is located in the Pell Hotel, and unfortunately, we arrived after dark. The lighting inside was quite dim--probably for dinner--so we couldn't fully appreciate the ambiance. That said, the interior was very clean and sleek, which was a definite positive. Even though it was a weekday, I was surprised by how empty the restaurant was, especially given that it's considered one of the top-rated spots in the area. I understand it's a bit past peak season, but there were only four tables occupied and a few people at the bar. The service was a bright spot. Our server was friendly, and had a genuinely positive attitude. However, I couldn't rate the experience higher than a 3.5 because of the food. We ordered the Helmway chowder, hot honey flatbread, fish tacos, and scallops. On the positive side, the scallops were better than what I'd had at another restaurant recently. They were flavorful and cooked well. The noodle pairing, however, was a bit odd--kind of dry and clumped together, with little flavor. It may have needed more sauce. Still, the scallops were the main attraction and didn't disappoint. The fish tacos were also decent, but I wish they had more aioli or crema as it was a bit dry. On the critical side, the Helmway chowder was a letdown. I'm no expert in New England clam chowder, but it didn't seem homemade and tasted more like something you'd get from a supermarket, with maybe a few extra clams and a sprinkle of paprika added. The flatbread was also underwhelming--the texture felt off, possibly overcooked, and I could barely taste any hot honey. Maybe it was just an off day, and I hope that's the case. read more

Ordered takeout for dinner. Seems very quiet both times I went. Service was fast. We got the burger and the salmon. Burger was good. I like the bacon bits in the burger, which would have been less interesting without. Fries were pretty standard. Salmon was also good and the skin was my favorite but I don't think the salmon works well with the sweetness of the mash it comes with. Overall good but the only complaint is you don't get much for your money but this is a hotel restaurant. For context, that burger and fries pictures is 21$ by itself and for that price, they could have doubled up the patties. Lol. Salmon was 30$. read more

We had globalist free breakfast here and i enjoyed it both days. It is simple and straightforward and nice. The brioche for the breakfast sandwich is yum and i liked how much cheese they give u w everything. The portions r nice and some might say on the small side but just right for me personally. This review is only for a dinner seating. Friday night dinner came with live music (3 person jazz ensemble) in the adjoining bar. The bar had more activity than the dining area, and rightfully so. We ordered the Mahi Miso, Scallops, and for dessert we had Cinnamon Bread Pudding. The mahi was a little overcooked but not by much. But the fish didn't have a hint of miso flavoring, tasted more like it had a salty butter glaze. The scallops were cooked properly. But just like the miso mahi, there was a flavor mismatch. It was supposed to be lemon garlic but it had no hint of lemon or garlic. The cinnamon bread pudding was pretty decent. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top with chocolate sauce and cinnamon powder. This was our favorite part of the meal. Waitress lacked polish but she got the job done. Friendly service in a fresh, modern space. Entrees are a bit pricey for the size of the dishes, but each bit of my pork chop was delicious. Steak seemed like it was refired after being sliced - maybe it came off too pink or timing was off? Not sure! Really tasty gin martini, absolutely would recommend! Beer list was inaccurate - three IPAs listed but only one was available. Also, it never makes sense to me when local beer served on draft is more expensive than its canned counterpart, particularly when it's something like a brewery's flagship recipe or an easy pale ale. Am excited to see this restaurant's team get some more water under the keel and really come together - I'll be back! read more

Stayed at the Pell hotel attached, figure to give this place a try. Not busy on a Saturday morning. There were a handful of tables occupied. The staff were friendly - it was only two gentlemen upfront, both were very kind. Food was quick to come out. And very good. I got the western omelette and tots. Wasn't able to take a picture but solely of the food, I'd rank it 4.5/5. The omelette was solid. The seasoning on the tots was 10/10. I was granted the secret knowledge of the seasoning. The restaurant had a very tasteful nautical theme going. Very cute. I saw a review that described it as "casual but upscale," which I think is the perfect way to describe it. Stayed at hotel which seems new and is very nice. Pressed for time so decided to eat in their restaurant. Food was decent wedge salad with steak. Others said their food was ok. The problem was the place was packed. Several large tables all full plus the bar was packed. Only one server who really didn't know what he was doing and a bartender. overall, a pretty quiet place for a Friday night the service was good no complaints my main issues with the food. We got the Ravioli and Burger. Ravioli was solid at best. The filling was a little lackluster, and the pasta was a little overcooked. The sauce and the ravioli was a little bland and I felt like I could've gotten more pumpkin. In regards to the burger it was solid kind of seemed like a fast food burger that I'd get nothing really special or gourmet about it. I can say another positive was also the hot honey flatbread was pretty delicious. I don't think I would come back, but overall not a bad place and the service was friendly read more

Had the balsamic flatbread, local burger, and the Pell salad. All were very good, but not a huge fan of smash burgers if you want a thicker burg I'd switch it up.
