I've been through several cleaning professionals in LA and I am happy to say I've had absolutely the best experience with Berenice and Vianey from The Help. I'd had a very bad experience with my last cleaning person, so I was a nervous about using someone new... and it had been a while since my home had been cleaned! Berenice and Vianey absolutely put me at ease with their warm and friendly demeanor and incredibly professional attitude. They were so sweet with my dog and my toddler and they listened enthusiastically to my concerns and special instructions. Let me start my review by saying Candy is a sweetheart. She's nice and makes sure you're happy with the service they render but I have to be honest. So I had Amada and Gladys. I asked Amada to take off her shoes to clean the house she said she couldn't because of knee/ankle problem, instead, she put a shoe cover. But what upset me the most is to find out that she removed the shoe cover and cleaned our kitchen and our room. How can you clean a kitchen and a room with carpet using your dirty shoes the same shoes that you use to go to public places and restrooms? That's so dirty! The fact that I had them clean my room for my baby. Would you allow your baby to crawl on the carpet the fact that she stepped on it with her shoes on? I ended up buying a carpet steamer to clean the carpet. Gladys is sweet and nice. She works hard. So I had my 2 rooms, 2 baths, small kitchen and living room cleaned for 4 1/2 hours. They both did a great job on the restrooms and stove. But they spent most of their time on both restrooms. When I checked our rooms, the carpet was vacuumed but a lot of dirts on every side of the rooms, the windows were not clean either. So I called Candy and she sent Gladys to redo the cleaning even in the kitchen, I found a lot of dust and dirts. After a few days, my husband and I decided to decorate my baby's room (the one that Gladys cleaned) I just found out that she only wiped the windows and the floor, the bed still has lots of dust especially on the back and the side of the bed, I found a lot of dirts and dust on the floor. What's very disappointing is that I needed to clean the rooms that were supposed to be cleaned. I spent $245 for them to clean 2 rooms (which I had to redo the cleaning), 2 baths, living room and very small kitchen. Its just a waste of money I think because I could have done it better. I told my husband it's better to have a babysitter and we clean the house rather than pay $245 and the work has to be redone. I wouldn't recommend them and I won't use them again in the future. read more

I just had Lydia and Irma come out to my 3 bed, 3 bath home and they were fantastic! I'm very picky about cleaners and they handled every area beautifully. I have a floor to ceiling glass door shower in the master bathroom that is a pain to clean and they had it spotless. It took them three hours to complete everything, but it was well worth the money. One word: AMAZING. Today marks the third time I've had The Help clean my apartment. They never ever disappoint! Nahum and Yuri are a super-duo who were the first to clean my apt from The Help several months back. Kandiie, the very friendly and customer service proficient reservations manager sent them to me as she knew I was weary of ANY L.A. cleaning service after so many bad experiences. Well she was so right! Not only are Nahum and Yuri talented at what they do, they are so professional and genuinely kind. Yuri always shocks me with his above and beyond dedication: on the first visit he even organized/reorganized the furniture and desk area in ways I hadn't even thought of and it was so much better and open! On their second visit, just today, without asking he disassembled our old shower shelving, and reassembled the new one we had still sitting in its box. He just didn't have to do so yet he did on his own accord. Nahum is always so sweet and took the time to say hi to our dog who I normally would have to keep crated during a cleaning session or when any strangers are in our home. I was able to leave him roaming free which would never normally happen. Nahum and Yuri however took a second of their time to let our dog feel comfortable with them in our home and it made a difference in the whole night! I was able to focus and get my own work done rather than worry about keeping our crated dog out of the way. It is worth mentioning that the second team of ladies who cleaned for us were also amazing, which is reassuring to know I can schedule The Help at any time and receive amazing service from my preferred team and also any other team of professionals. This is all coming from a perfectionist who loves to clean but just does not have the time for deep cleaning like they provide here. I really value the work that they do and their above and beyond service, starting with Kandiie on the phone/email, to the cleaning professionals, to my super duo Nahum and Yuri. These kind and lovely ladies arrived promptly at my home at the scheduled time and after a brief conversation to ascertain what my needs were, they quickly got to work. I am updating my review based on my experience with Kandiie and the new team of cleaners (Nahum & Alexandria) that serviced me. After my last review, Kandiie contacted me immediately To apologize for my experience and to find a way to correct the situation. She asked if I would be open to another cleaning, free of charge, to better my experience. I agreed to it. She asked what my expectations were and where I would like the cleaning to be focused. Kandiie recommended Nahum and Yuri (Alexandria came as she is Nahums partner on the weekends). From my initial interaction with her, she has been prompt, easy to communicate with, and showed that she really cared about her customers. Her management qualities are excellent, it was unfortunate that her team didn't deliver the last go around. Nahum and Alexandria arrived few minutes early with all their supplies. They were friendly, professional, listened to my requests, and quickly began working. I knew that my house would need a good dusting and the floors would need extra attention since we recently had minor reno & painting done. At the end I did a walk through and was impressed with how thorough they were. They has even removed the tiny leftover paint speckles left on our hardwood floors. Before leaving, Nahum again asked if I was satisfied with everything. Just a few minutes after they left, Kandiie also personally text messaged me to double check that I was completely satisfied. I understand that as a business owner you can't always control your staff out in the field. I'm glad I gave The Help another try. My apartment was pretty dirty and in need of a deep clean so I found this service on Yelp and made an appointment. Iracema and Maritsa showed up right on time and totally cleaned our 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment including fridge and blinds in around 4 hours. Came home and was blown away by how much better everything looked, especially the blinds which were stained black with freeway dust, looked as good as when I first moved in 4 years ago. Unfortunately, I had a few issues. The lady that I spoke with to set up the cleaning was very nice, both during the set up and during the issue that occurred the day of the cleaning. Apparently there was some mix up about my location because the ladies who were coming to clean my house thought I lived in Los Angeles, but I lived in Fullerton. So they were on the right street but in the wrong county. Also, the cleaning ladies themselves did not have a cell phone and had to borrow one from an exterminator who they ran into on the street. They also did not speak English. So it was very difficult to figure out what was going on between me and the cleaning ladies. Once I figured out what was going on, I called the main number again and left a message since it was the weekend. Not even fifteen minutes went by before the office called back to apologize for the error and to assure me that I wouldn't have to pay for the cancellation. There's a $50 cancellation fee (I think that's the right amount) if you cancel the day of, but I was never charged for it. So excellent customer service, just a little miscommunication. read more

I am writing a follow up review after using The Help for over a year now. I have tried 3-4 different teams and the team I have now is the perfect fit for me. Berenece and Vianey are wonderful! They are always on time, arrive with smiles on their faces and lots of energy! They do an amazing job on my house, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. They even fold the towels to look fancy like a hotel which is a nice touch! I have a six month old baby and they always greet him with smiles and hugs and he just adores them. The beauty about using this service is that Kandiie will work with you until you find the right team for you. I'm so glad I've found these two sweet ladies to help me with my housework- I look forward to seeing them every time. :) read more

Verenice and Vianey are prompt in both arrival and departure, do a fantastic job of working around the clutter generated by our children when we don't have time to tidy up before they arrive, and often throw in some nice extra touches (like cleaning out the refrigerator) when time allows. I didn't get off to a good start with the company but, since so many great reviews, decided to stick with them as perhaps just some adjusting was necessary. In the first 3 weeks, have had people cancel at last minute, different crews show up, poor follow up. Today I came home to find they had used a wood polish on my glass shower stall, unvacuumed floors, items not returned to their place and, despite the clean towels folded and waiting to be hung, still out on the counter. A little disappointed with the end results but I figure they got me in a good place to finish it myself. It just sucks to spend as much as I did to still have to clean after. My shower liner wan't touched and the top of the shower I guess was out of reach because it is still dirty. My biggest complaint is that they threw all my hair products, my body wash, my mouth wash, my lotions, some socks, a personal photo, and a baseball hat away. I had to fish them out of trash. I even cut myself in the process. One flip flop is M.I.A and after they leave I'll have to run to CVS to buy a new hair brush because I apparently didn't fish that out the trash. I'm really trying not to think about what of my stuff got thrown away and am near tears thinking about it and the amount of money I spent. They also opened a brand new bedding set and put it on my bed. I was returning the set and didn't ask for it to be put on the bed. Now I'm stuck with it because it's opened and on my bed. I was home the whole time so I would have liked to be asked about some things (like opening the bedding set) before it was done. And I wish I knew i needed to tell them my full bottle of body wash and shampoo in the shower and mouthwash on my counter was not trash. I bought a deal but wasn't able to figure out how to use it when I signed up. Was so frustrated I forgot to ask the cleaners and I probably won't use the service again so add another $15 on top of the total cost for today. A little bummed about it all. read more

I have used a couple of different cleaning services for sporadic deep cleaning but was never quite satisfied. The Help changed all of that. The staff is efficient and professional. I get an email reminder before each visit and a receipt for services right after. Until Betty and Lidia showed up with their warm smiles and all the equipment and cleansers they would need to get our house in shape, I was doing the ongoing cleaning myself. They did such an amazing job that they come every other week now. Their work is not only thorough and meticulous, they are willing to do special projects like cleaning out closets and scrubbing outdoor furniture. They take great pride in the little touches that I find around the house after they leave. What makes each visit so special is the warmth and care they bring into our home. They are extremely professional and have suggested successful remedies for some trouble spots. I have talked about them so much that even my family in Oregon wishes they could use them! Used their services in Nov. 2013. The 2 helpers were courteous, and started work right away and Candy gave us 1 hr. free since they got late coz of their earlier appointment. The only main problem we gauged ( we work from home so were there throughout) was - their work time management n desicion making needs to be more efficient- not prioritising rightly n taking way too much time at the starting things without keeping track of their own initial estimate (our house is not even overtly dirty or neglected) & consequently having to almost rush through the later things. I finally even had no option but to politely jump in for some supervision ( I'm thankful to have been there!). They had crossed their initial estimate of 2.5 hrs. & eventually, even I wasn't prepared for letting them work beyond 4 hrs. ( I still gave them a small tip though). However, that said, I'm sure the helpers could use any such feedback positively for betterment. I had no other issues and am also happy with the way Candy handled customer service. She readily offered to send over another helper, free of cost, on a mutually agreed day, to take care of all the later cleaning that had not got done satisfactorily in the rush. Much appreciated and I'm sure her sincerity increases the stars on their ratings here! Also, their rates felt competitive plus I also got a good offer deal from yelp. I just finished remodeling my condo and needed some deep cleaning, including a sanitizing of my fridge/freezer, since the construction crew had cut the electricity to the fridge and forgot to turn it back on (not a pretty sight). I chose the deep cleaning that The Help offers and got assigned Yuri & Nahum, who did an amazing job, including the detailing that I needed (we had to disassemble the freezer & fridge and used a steamer to do the job). I had them come back a couple of weeks later. Both time they were on time and very responsive to my requests and to do list. They are just a very good team and Nahum was super helpful in dismantling the fridge/freezer. I have used several other cleaning companies in the past and have had bad experiences 90% of the time, so I am not wasting my money on the other ones again. The Help is well worth the price. Yes, you do get what you pay for. I am definitely using the service again. :-) read more

if you are looking at the high ratings for this company, and if you are wondering how anyone could have a bad experience with them, and if you think that Yelp ratings are dependable and so you can go ahead and trust them, then you are thinking exactly like i was yesterday, before these cleaners came this afternoon and did a horrendous job. i left them here for two hours, came back and every piece of furniture or place that you would readily expect to indicate cleanliness was still dirty: floor, sofa, counter table, glass coffee table, bathroom vanity, bedroom carpet, terrace, sliding glass doors. Yup. ALL DIRTY. This is not including the stainless steel refrigerator/freezer and waste can that they clearly attempted to clean, but was left wildly streaked and uncleaned. After i pointed all this out, they proceeded to clean everything, however, i still don't know what they were doing for the two hours they were here. In 15 years, i have had maybe five cleaning people, and even the worst was outdone by these two in terms of the poor job they did. To begin with, they did not even have my correct address, which, i would argue, is the least one could expect, and which i believe is something that augurs poorly, a point borne out by the service i received. I found this company on Yelp, decided to use them solely based on the 4.5 star rating they had, and this is what happened. Trusting Yelp resulted in a poor experience. read more

I've used The Help a few times over the past few years in a variety of circumstances, from normal apartment cleaning to a deep cleaning on a home I was selling. I've had a different team every time, and was never let down by any of them. In the latest case, after moving into a new rental home in Sierra Madre, I was particularly pleased by the work of the team of Nahum and Yuri. I'd let my place get dirty enough that I really didn't think they'd have time to cover even the most obvious spots in the time allotted, but they not only covered those but got to some areas I was quite surprised to find attended to. As a side note, I'll say that I'm sometimes organizationally challenged, so I was pleased to notice that they had done something as simple as leave a wastebasket in a more obvious place where it should go than where I'd had it. (Don't worry, I'm sure they won't reorganize your whole place if you have your act together more than I do.) I rarely have experiences so good that I feel like running to Yelp to share about it, but having expectations exceeded is too nice a feeling not to share. read more
