We came by The Heyday for lunch and genuinely enjoyed it! I had seen a lot of good things about The Heyday and can't wait to come back! The Heyday is definitely on the smaller side, but makes up for it in ambience. It's just a super chill environment filled with comfortable booths. The service was really great here. Our waiter was super helpful and literally everyone working here came to check and make sure our food was okay and if we needed anything. I tried the martini and burger special and it was absolutely delicious. The meat is cooked perfectly and my martini was refreshing . My husband had the western bacon cheeseburger. He thought it was good, he just wasn't a fan of the amount of sauce on it. We then split the late night fries and the onion rings, both were absolutely to die for. I would definitely recommend eating the late fries right when they come out, since they come sauced they do loose their crisp! You come here for smash burgers and excellent cocktails. If that appeals to you--and it should--this could be your happy place. The restaurant is very small. Be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes. Order one of those excellent and extremely strong cocktails and hang out on the outside patio while you wait. My very good martini (gin, always, with olives) was as big as a fishbowl and I am not complaining. There is no way I could have drank more than one without incurring an overnight stay in jail for drunk driving. Smash burgers are not my favorite type of burgers but the ones here have a lot of flavor. I added bacon to mine because there is no reason not to do so. The bun was nice but fell apart on me. Overall, the burger is a messy feast but a delicious one. Do not sleep on the crinkle cut fries which you have to order separately. They were heavily seasoned and fantastic. Driving into the Desert on a Sunday and need a quick lunch. Stopped at the Heyday at 2:30 pm and they are doing a good business! Not surprised once we sit down at a booth and look around. Great decor with old and new artwork ... definitely Palm Springs feeling but old, comfy diner as well. Very homey. Couldn't pass up on the martini and burger special (hubby driving). The martini is generous and strong! The burgers are very fresh and tasty - nothing bland about them. Same with the onion rings and fries - and I am picky about fries! Addictive. I hate to say this right out of the gate, but I was ultimately underwhelmed by both the service and the food. I first heard about this place back in 2020 when they were doing pop-ups and had always wanted to try it. North Palm Springs is a bit out of my way, but I happened to be in the area and figured it was the perfect opportunity. When I arrived, a very nice young man (who I assumed was the host) seated me at a small two-top near the bar/checkout area. Unfortunately, I waited quite a while before anyone came by to take my order. During that time, there was a guy and two young women chatting and laughing loudly behind the bar next to where I was seated. It was a bit distracting. What surprised me was that they turned out to be servers. Everyone was dressed very casually, so it wasn't obvious who was actually working there. If they all had the same T-shirt or uniform on then it wouldn't have been a mystery. Eventually, the same young man who had seated me came back and asked if anyone had helped me yet. When I said no, he was apologetic and took my order. I ordered the double smash burger with a side of onion rings and a glass of water. Everything is à la carte, and the menu seems to lean heavily toward alcoholic beverages. The food came fairly quickly. The burger was good, but not particularly memorable. The bun was quite small compared to the size of the patties, which made it messy to eat because your hands touch the patties when holding the bun. For a $15 burger, I was hoping for something epic. The onion rings had a nice flavor, but the texture landed somewhere between crispy and soggy. Throughout the meal, no one checked in on my table, and I noticed that none of the servers checked in on any of the tables. They continued to talk at the bar the whole time I was there. It seemed that the only time they went to the tables was to take orders and drop off bills. I eventually had to ask one of the servers for a water refill. The water tasted like straight up tap water rather than filtered. In the end, the bill came to about $28 before tip for a burger and onion rings. It was an expensive mediocre experience. I didn't like that they bring a handheld device to pay your bill while they are holding it. It's too invasive, when you're trying to figure out the tip. While I'm glad I finally tried it after hearing about it for so long, it didn't quite live up to the hype. It felt more like a tourist stop rather than a local hangout. read more

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. Place was busy but not so busy that we weren't seated right away. We sat inside and immediately knew what we wanted. We ordered a Smash Single, a Western Bacon Cheeseburger, an order of Late Night Fries, and a beer. Everything pretty much came out together and pretty quickly too. Both burgers were amazing and delicious. I really enjoyed the way you got a full bite of everything on every bite of the Western Burger. The fries, I was skeptical about because crinkle cut aren't my favorite, but these were also really good. The fries were crispy enough that it had that crunch and really held up the toppings and sauce. I wish it had more chopped chiles but that's just a personal preference. They were a perfect size for sharing between 3 people (2 if you're really hungry). After devouring our food, we noticed most people were eating their food with fork and knife. We felt a little embarrassed that we just ate like animals, haha, but our server reassured us that devouring our food with our hands was equally acceptable. She was really nice and I enjoyed the service. The place in general has a casual menu but it definitely felt like date night vibes. For an $8 order of fries, I expect them to be fantastic, but they came out a bit soggy and not crispy. The smashburgers met expectations - soft pillowy bun and a nice flat patty with a delectable amount of fixings. My only complaint is the cheese sauce it was like $3.75 for a tiny ramekin size which would have been fine if it didn't taste like cheese water. So basically I paid $4 for something that was gross and the size should have been more like .75€ or max $1.50 for that size. The space is small and has a very cool vibe and atmosphere. I made my first visit to The Heyday last week (Friday night), which was the very tail-end of summer. Almost every table was occupied. I am sure, during the high season in Palm Springs, there is a longish wait to get one of the coveted tables or perch up on one of the four stools at the bar-counter. Heydays hype is real and for good reason. They don't do reservations so expect a wait on the weekends and if you are coming around closing they will close the list an hour before if there are people waiting. We arrived around 8:11pm on a Saturday night and didn't get seated until 9pm but we saw them turning walk ins away around 8:45ish as they close at 10pm so keep the hours in mind when visiting. Once we were seated we ordered the burger and martini special for $20 and I decided to do top shelf for $5 extra. The bartender makes a dirty martini and I was there for it, had your girl feeling right! They have some epic smash burgers and amazing late night fries ($11.75) which I recommend ordering by all means. The burger was juicy and flavorful. One of the best burgers I have had in a really long time! Overall, a cute casual date night spot. Any time I am in Palm Springs this place will be a must go to! read more

I added the homemade mushroom veggie patty, which was an extra three dollars. I also ordered some shredded lettuce on the side. So it was pretty perfect. I got the best of both worlds. Well first thigs first. When they say they open at noon, they mean they open at noon. I was actually second in line about 10 miniutes prior to opening. My son and I had a delightful lunch here. He ordered a cheeseburger and I had the mushroom veggie sub patty without a bun to try to be healthier. When a smaller party arrived but only large tables were available, the staff would still seat them at a large table and bring them waters and take their order. The staff would eventually ask them to move to a smaller table when one freed up. This kept the place running without a lot of people having to stand and wait around. Also, the staff would ask people to wait outside so they didn't crowd the restaurant and the patrons dining at the tables. It was great to see them run the place like a well oiled machine. All of the staff were really friendly too. I also love the idea of a martini and burger! I was driving so I couldn't partake.
