Worst mic experience. Would never in a million years go back. It was just two broey bros basically hanging out and just me. they were rude and inappropriate to me and the host didn't do anything a host would do and they seriously were just hanging out not treating it like a mic at all. Not worth it even if I didn't have to pay. The person running the place didn't care when I let her know either. unless you want to get ripped off and treated poorly I would not recommend this place. Came out for a Saturday show with Steven Ho as the headliner. YMMV with the experience, it seems the comedians' performances really depend on how the audience reacts to them. We had a particularly odd bunch of people this night that included some hecklers who threw the comedians off their script a little bit. More experienced comedians would be able to handle these types of people better. I also noticed that the comedians would leave the venue right after their piece, like they only come to practice their bit then bounce. The space is small and seats an intimate crowd of about 30 people. There is a bathroom and makeshift bar in the back. You can also buy merch, so bring cash if you're interested. Not sure if there's a parking lot for this building, but we easily found street parking around the corner. The price was $28 per person, which is more expensive than some notably larger and more established comedy clubs out there. But then again, they are just getting their start, so you can also think of your ticket as supporting the local, up-and-coming comedy scene. read more

I called to ask a specific question because I couldn't find the answer online. I got an irritated "Hello.." I asked who I was calling because at that point I thought I had maybe dialed the wrong number. I proceeded to ask "I'm sorry, who am I calling?" To then get a response like "idk you called me who do you think you're calling?" Well Excuse me? Am I calling a business or not? And who is "me?!" What a weird way to answer a phone to a business during business hours.. then have the nerve to get an attitude with a potential customer as if I'm in the wrong for asking. I told them that this isn't a professional way to answer a business line and the lady said "yea well sorry" and hung up! I'm glad this happened tho because I did further research and saw that really bad, bottom of the barrel comedians perform there so I now get to save my time and money. I learned about this place when I drove past. My friend and I decided to check it out and we had a good time at the Sat night show. Lots of variety (including musical comedy) and had some good laughs. We were not familiar with any of the comedians prior and they're at all different levels (pros or just starting out). We had to leave after an hour and a half because the folding chairs got uncomfortable. Wished we could have stayed until the end. read more

I've been here six times now, and each time it's been an unpleasant experience. The mics don't start on time, and the hosts don't seem to care. I signed up for two mics recently and they were running 25 minutes behind. I spent three hours listening to comics talk about how "this is the worst mic" in LA. It was bad before, but now It's hit a new low. I'm not sure who runs this place, but they need to do a better job. The place is dirty and it smells. The hosts don't want to be there. People come in and out of the room in the middle of your set. It's clear the comics do not respect this mic/room evident by the topics on stage and their expressed distain. Please make an effort to provide a good place to develop our material. I love comedy and supporting small businesses, but it'll be a while before I come back here again. read more

There is a reason tickets are so cheap at this place. I actually like going out and supporting performers growing in their art - but this place failed in a big way. Of the 8 stand-up comedians we saw, 3 were ok, but this stupid place had a camera man who laughed inappropriately loud and overacted his enjoyment ("oh shit!!!) which killed it for the paying audience members. It was a complete disservice to the audience and to the performers. It turned an otherwise open-minded audience into a hostile group wanting to throw our warm beers (yes - they failed to refrigerate their refreshments) at the asshole photo guy in the back. As a comedian, you need stage time to develop material and get better. LA has no shortage of "open mic factories" where you pay $5 for 5 minutes of stage time. Every open mic has its own vibe. I've found some mics to be cliquey with an overall negative vibe. The Hollywood Comedy is the opposite of that. The owner Jiaoying is incredibly lovely and supportive. I have never been to a horrible comedy show until I came to this one. Everyone read off their notes. I kept waiting to see if it would get any better. It never did! I especially found Charles Kelly to be the worse of them of all. He is NOT a comedian. He was so high that he could barely keep his balance and his eyes open. He was rambling about "p* juice" and a** throughout his whole skit. It was an open mic night for a disgusting perv. I wasted my time listening to some perv on how he likes p* juice and a**. He was NOT funny at all. The people that were running the show were behind us seemed to be laughing hard on purpose. At the end of the show we rushed out as the hosts were asking for donations for the so called "comedians." I was disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone. The "comedians" should have been screened before they went up. Their skits should have been reviewed before allowing them to go on stage. read more

Made an attempt to watch the club's Ukraine fundraiser via stream. Event was to start @ 11 Eastern/8 Pacific. Purchased ticket via Event Brite and what was suppose to occur was customer was to receive link to watch show. At 11:15, still no link to show. Club was contacted. Notification arrived @ 11:50. Technical issues with stream. Contact Venmo for refund. Sorry. Prayer hands emoji. You would thing that messages would have appeared before hand on their social media pages. FB Strike 1. Twitter Strike 2 (Last post on that site 2-16) IG Strike 3. Even went to the You Tube page 3 views of a video with 10 subscribers. So Ukraine is not receiving any stream money. Must have been only me and another person who purchased stream. If this was there 1st time trying to stream an event, s**t happens. However, if they have streamed events in the past, and this how they handle a stream problem, not good. Club should have made an attempt to post on social media stream issues and contact individuals that purchased stream about issue ASAP. Folks, it's about communication with customers. Not to hard to do. I even notified one the performers about this. Individual was not happy about end result for someone that could have done something different with their Saturday night three hours ahead of pacific time zone. and instead just sat in front of an IPAD being notified before midnight you wasted your Saturday night. read more
