I've actually come to this location on several different trips for either items in the nursery or other items such as high end tools & seasonal items. Every time that I've gone to this location I've always been able to go in & find what I need but if not there's always an associate there to help look for it at another location for me so they can put it on hold until I get to the other store! On this particular trip I needed boxes so my husband could wrap an antique glass curio cabinet that we bought! The boxes were such good quality, very sturdy that I knew my antique glass curio cabinet would arrive in one piece as long as it was wrapped properly... which it did!!! The shelves were well stocked for it being a Sunday so I had a nice variety of sizes to choose from... they also had lots of different sized bubble wraps for your delicates! Bought 11 sets of blinds, was talked out of getting them cut to the size I wanted. Only one endind up fitting. Had to load them into my vehicle take them home, unload them take them to each room. I started the unboxing process, and then I came across the fact that it didn't fit, moved onto the next one and it didn't fit so on and so forth. Had to reload everything into my truck come all the way back to have them cut. The woman at customer service was an absolute delight. The only pleasant thing about the entire experience. The next guy gentlemen that cut the blinds when we returned was extremely helpful. I ordered 60 construction blocks online. Got the email that my order was ready for pick up. I show up to the store. Ivan the loader was supposed to help because customer service gives him the paperwork. I folded it up and put it in his back pocket and starts helping another customer. I walk back to the location that customer service says and start pushing my loaded cart to the car. Ivan follows me to my car I tell him that I got it and to leave he tells me oh no I'll take the cart. Worse customer service ever. I only did an online order so I would not have to do it alone. I was very pleased with the service I received this morning. I was trying to locate a small leaf blower to clean my patio, and the staff recommended a great one that was not oversized or overpriced. The staff reassured me that if this did not fit my needs, even open, I could return it within 30 days. Next, I was looking for S-hooks, and the staff assisted me with finding the correct size and even suggested how to modify the hook to ensure the security of the items I was hanging. Lastly, as I was checking out, the staff spoke to me about my plants. As I mentioned, I somehow kill them. She suggested that maybe I should try silk flowers, which they sold, but also some other locations and their variety. This way, I would not be a plant murderer. Thanks again for all you did today. First thing I'll disclose I am only picking on this Home Depot (HD) location because I can't review the corporation itself. This location gets almost all my business and they didn't have what I wanted in stock. So here goes... I was shopping for a new built-in microwave oven. and bought it online from HD. The Good: * Price of the item was acceptable. Found the same item being offered at the same price from several retailers, so it was a competitive price. * Arrived in just a very few days, which surprised me for something unavailable at a store. * Arrived promptly during the promised time period * Delivery guy was pleasant and offered to bring it inside for me if I wanted. The Bad * This oven wasn't in stock in any HD store. It has to be a popular purchase, given its widespread availability at other retailers. Why wasn't it in stock in store? * No option available to buy it and pick it up from a local store -- as can be done with so many items from so many chain retailers. * My only option was to pay $39 to have it delivered to my home. Conspiracy Theory Time: Seems to me this whole delivery bit was by design. Kinda like, Gee, we don't carry it in the store so we gonna hafta charge ya to deliver it. Delivered with a blank look. And lotsa blinking. Anyway, the delivery was made by a Home Depot truck and it only took 2 & 1/2 days after I placed the order. Hmmmmm. Kinda fishy. read more

I don't believe I've ever had such poor service and uncaring for a customer, even from the worst of shops. #1: Bought expensive "in stock" appliances and was then told, after they took the money, they were in stock....at the warehouse in New York! Delivery was delayed, obviously, but then the stove, fridge, and hood were delivered a week ahead of the installers who, when they came, unboxed them and found damage to the fridge. After hood installation they noticed a scratch on the hood. Then, the stove, which cost almost $7,000, would not ignite the burners. 3 for 3 in fails! Home Depot was notified and their response was that I had to load the stove, fridge, and hood (after it was bolted to the wall) by myself into my passenger car and bring the appliances to them for a return...but don't delay. Then, order them again, but "do it fast before we raise prices". No attempt at resolution, support for repairs, or help in carrying them back to the store. Hugo was a huge help and service to getting my wood cut down to the proper size. The selection is overwhelming, but it's a fun store to walk around in the value is comparable. Some things are good. I feel some things are a little higher than they should be last time I checked, you could go to Walmart and get a sander for 15 bucks but the cheapest one they had was 59 but let's get back to Hugo. He cut all my wood and was amazing and then there was an older gentleman working the knobs and screws section and he was super helpful and then when I had to go find something else, another gentleman was there and very handy so altogether I'd say it was a wonderful experience and it was a great team and they showed how well they work together, and everyone is very eager to help you and did not make me feel overwhelmed as a woman coming in to get things for my project DIY. read more

We were overseeing a few projects and got to know this Home Depot well. This store is a mess. Delivery is completely unreliable. They can't get a single order fulfilled correctly. Had to have someone start picking up orders. Spent 30+ minutes on the phone with a rep trying to get a refund for items not delivered. Specifically told them which items and they kept saying it's in "transit" when on our end it showed as delivered. They said they couldn't do anything because it was in transit. Told them we were on a tight schedule and leaving in a few days so we can't wait, especially since it's showing as not only delivered, but refund in progress because the online rep started a refund and said the "store had to finish processing it at a register" which is ridiculous. After 30 minutes of back and forth the supervisor finally came up with the brilliant idea of double checking the order number the initial rep took down and what do you know...THEY GOT IT WRONG. So what were they looking at?!? Still have to check if the refund was fully processed. The day we're leaving for the airport we get a notification that an order we placed days ago was somehow reordered and ready for pick up (which none of us did.) We quickly cancelled said order. This place is a mess. At least the staff was somewhat friendly although one lady made it clear she wasn't there for chitchat. read more

I love going to Home Depot but the Avondale store is so poorly managed, I'm doing it all online now. The most recent is a belt for my cooler which I have gone to the store 5 times over the last 2 months and it is always OUT OF STOCK. Imagine my surprise when I go online and it says there are 5 IN STOCK AT AVONDALE. This has been the case over and over at Avondale. The shelves are not being re-stocked. I've also helped customers because they are unable to find a employee, and advised them because the employees are clueless about DIY. Their employees seem to be all involved with the home design crap and know nothing, and don't care to learn anything, about the products for repairs to a home. read more

Friendly, fast checkouts. Thus Depot is far superior to the one on Camelback and 99th Ave which was a train wreck. read more

Horrible experience with Jacob the "professional" measurer for our carpet purchase/install. Gave my wife false information & took inaccurate measurements in order to charge us for 80 extra square feet of carpet. When I demanded a remeasure, Jacob called me at 8:52pm to argue with me about how it would me remeasured and would not give a time he would arrive the following day. Called the next day "between 7am-9am" per policy to say he would be at our house between 11am & 1pm. I declined to have him in my home & told him to just submit his revised quote however he saw fit to do so. Which he did but this time submitted the EXACT dimensions of the room leaving the installers NO extra at all to work with. This was a blatant attempt to cause the unaware installers to run short & have to return to the store for additional carpet, thus fulfilling his previous night's threat of consequences. read more

I had to file a complaint with Diane Wickerd (Millwork Specialist). The whole process of the exterior door installment was a huge mess! It took a month to get it done, 10 plus follow up calls, and 3 in person follow ups! This is how much problems I had during the process and the timeline. -2/6-Paid for security door consult -Took more than 24-48 hours to get measurements (followed up with multiple calls to Diane) -2/7-Measurement people reached out but no follow up for actual schedule 2/8-Called Diane for follow up. She will handle it.no follow up callback 2/9 came into the store and was given HUGE attitude about it by Heidi (in the same department as Diane) and was NOT HELPFUL 2/10- measurements finally done 2/11-paid for the security door. called 5 times on hold for 45 mins. MULTIPLE disconnected calls for my receipt. Waited 3 hours for her to send my receipt. 2/14-was informed the wrong knobs were chosen. Last min looking online for knobs. During selection of knob, didn't even help me choose what knobs would work or not. She just said "go down that long aisle and choose". -2/20 Sent the wrong door size- Installment guy (who was amazing!) had to reschedule my appointment and come on his day off to do my door because of my work schedule. His consult measurements didn't match what was on the order receipt. 2/20: talked to Marissa (She was great!) Manager to fill a compliant 2/22- kit for door broken. Justin called and gave attitude and not helpful at all. 2/25- 3RD TIME RESCHEDULING door installment. The installer came back to finally finish the door. No follow up of my complaint was ever done, all they said was "we will write it in our notes!" Who knows if that was even done! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING THROUGH THIS PROCESS WITH HER! read more

The two women in the nursery section were very rude to me. It started with one of them asking if I want to go to the other woman so I didn't have to wait for the person in front of me and I said no. She didn't know I have a hip issue. But she got really sour with me because I said no. I let her know I have a hip issue but she still was short with me. The other woman got attitude with me because I was using my wife's 'store credit' gift card and I guess since my wife was in the car, it must mean that it's stolen. But if I were to make the same judgement of her and she came in there with her husband's gift card, it would be a bigger issue. I gave her my wife's name (she kept her Asian last name) and she gave me a dirty look but at least let me pay. I usually come here and I have a good experience. This was the worst. I'll get over it because this is just bad customer service but I haven't been treated like this here in Arizona. Back home they accuse Italians of all kinds of bad stuff and it's normal over there. Here it hasn't happened. So this sucked. I wouldn't even leave this because that's not what I do but when I was walking out the dirty leering I got from the first woman as I walked out was the tipping point. read more

Great service. I was looking for one of those plates that goes behind the door to protect the wall from the door knob. I wasn't sure what to call it let alone what department it would be in. I came across an aisle with a few employees. Two of the helped me figure out where it might be. They got me going in the right direction, and the item was found. Self checkout was quick and easy. There was only one checkout lane open with an actual cashier. That lane had a line about six people deep. Other than that, this is a fairly standard Home Depot. read more

Called the number to find out what is going on and after letting the phone ring for 10 minutes total someone finally picked up. My order was not ready. So sat and waited almost a. After visiting three other Home Depot's looking for specific pavers I need to complete a project I decided to give one last shot to this one before settling for the closest next style I could find. Parking was easy and once inside it took no time at all to find the area I needed. Unfortunately they had no more of the style needed so I picked up a few others. Bummer. This store used to offer military discounts for active duty, veteran and retired military service members. They have decided to offer those discounts only on select merchandise. Which means that if it is an item they want to get rid of then they offer the discounts for those who have served their country. But if it is an item that sells well, then they do not offer the military discount. Don't use this store or any other Home Depot store until they get back on track. There are other sources for everything that they sell. read more

Drove past another Home Depot to get to this one. I had ordered some flooring from the other and they lost it. They never notified me so I had to do all the research for them. The online chat service provided no help but actually increased my frustration. As I arrived at the Dysart location, someone was sanitizing carts, which were marked as such. All social distancing protocols were enforced, including providing hand sanitizer for customers. The store was clean, the aisles clearly marked and I found my flooring in about 45 seconds. As I approached the register area, someone asked if I was ready to check out, then politely directed me to an available cashier. The cashier was efficient, polite and competent. If I could give 0 stars I would!!! I bought a door on line and we were tracking the order it said it was delivered on June 28th. We went to the store on June 30th and they said it was not there. After talking to the unhelpful employee at the counter I asked for a manger Jose. He explained to me that they have a distribution center and that is where it is at. I told them on the tracking website it says Phoenix then out for delivery to customer then delivered. I asked aren't you the customer since this is were we wanted shipped? He said yes but we don't have it. WHAT?!!!! Jose just kept telling us that which made no sense!!! He said to give it a couple of days. This is the most stupidest system that a company can have!! I like coming here because it is to my boyfriend like Target is to me. He could look around all day, and find things he "needs." We particularly like coming here because the staff is friendly and helpful, but also yesterday in particular they really made an impression. It was the end of the night, and everyone was getting their areas clean and ready for the next day, but were more than willing to help. And their manager is wonderful. Very friendly, but also kind to his staff, encouraging and nurturing. It's nice to see there's good leaders even in a bigger chain store like Home Depot. read more

My hope is management sees this post ..... I went to Home Depot Avondale to get information on a small remodel for my home. I stopped in the cabinetry department to get a quote on a cabinet I wanted to potentially purchase. I showed Shelly the Home Depot design associate the door style I was interested in selected right from their samples hanging on the wall and asked if I could get a quote and she said no! She said I have to bring a sample door from home to match and Home Depot would have to approve prior to ordering. I said this door in my hand ( from Home Depot samples ) is the door I want and matches what I have at home. My work back ground was construction specifically cabinets and Millwork. The door is a shaker style door, square edge styles and rails. After a very combative conversation with Shelly she finally looked up the cabinet type I was looking for then proceed to tell me I can't have a shaker style door on the trash pullout cabinet I was looking for...while I'm looking at a Thomasville cabinet catalog they had showing the exact door I wanted on a trash pullout cabinet. When I asked Shelly why I could not have a shaker door on the trash pullout she said I have to use a slab flat panel door" because that's what I've always done" now I,m beside myself. Luckily the girl sitting behind Shelly chimed in and corrected shelly that I could use a shaker door on a trash pullout cabinet. Shelly and her knucklehead manager refused to give me a quote and refused to let me place the order unless they ( Home Depot ) approved the door style I wanted to purchase. Shelly and the manager combined had about as much cabinet experience as a rock. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars at Home Depot over the years, I would not recommend this store as the people working there were, unprofessional, rude, combative and didn't appear to have a desire to help customers, rather sit there with their heads buried in their computers talking to their coworkers. read more

HUGE shout out to Salina in customer service! I had issues assembling my new BBQ and she came up with a solution that seriously benefited me and made things super easy. A young guy also helped me unload my grill and load a new grill into my car. I had my kids with me so I was really nervous and they made it easy and seamless. Huge thank yous to them, they made my day! I also saw a greeter (blonde) helping another mom with her 5 kids and I was touched that she went out of her way to help out the already stressed out Mom. Ordering and having blinds installed at this Home Depot was a nightmare! I get it, everyone is "understaffed" but this store is a wreck. I've gone to several Home Depot's these past few months and they are not nearly as bad as this one. No one answers the phones, no one knows what they are doing. The wait times are ridiculous in store for home service. They did not cut my blinds in store. My husband picked them up because they said they were "ready for pick up". We brought them home and then had to take all of them back in to be cut. There's so many things that went wrong with this transaction, I wish I had the time write it all. Just don't go here, At least don't go for blind installation. read more
