Home Depot here I come, it's convenient and I know they have whatever I need or have forgotten. The store surprisingly wasn't very busy. This was gonna be a quick trip. HD has a good selection of quality 2x6.lumber at a good price. I spent just a few minutes picking out three of their best, loaded them on my cart and headed up to pay. This was my first time visiting this The Home Depot, and I was thoroughly impressed! The variety of items they carry is incredible--from gardening and hardware to home improvement, they have it all. The highlight of my trip was finding Chinese Cilantro seeds/starts that I can grow at home! It was such a delightful surprise to find this familiar, flavorful herb in a major local store. Worst Home Depot experience I've had in my life. I brought my items to the register to pay with my Home Depot credit card. I've been a loyal customer for years and have never had an issue with customer service before. This time, however, I was denied the ability to use my own credit card unless I presented an ID. It made me feel like I was being profiled, as this has never happened to me before. If this is a new policy, I would have appreciated someone showing me the policy instead of leaving me feeling singled out. Im really surprised this location has such a low rating, it's my favorite out of all in Bakersfield. I've recently gotten into gardening (hello middle age) and came in this time to look at what flowers, shrubs and pots I want for the aesthetic of my backyard. I found they had a vast selection of flowers, succulents, shrubs, and fruit trees! I especially liked how they had them sectioned by how much sunlight each should or can handle. The selection of pots was great too. And everything was reasonably priced. The only thing I had an issue with is the gardening gloves I wanted were in a case and it was impossible to get someone to open it for me so I gave up and went with my second option. Also, when I was checking out, I wasn't offered any help with the large sacks of soil I had in my cart :( I ended up purchasing more than a beginner should, but it's something to keep my mind active and off the phone. I wanted to by $1000 worth of cabinets and didnt see all the ones I needed. Ordered two toilets for express delivery and when I opened the 2nd toilet to install the base of the toilet was cracked/broken. CUSTOMER SERVICE RETURN DESK: CHRISTY. I called Home Depot to let them know I had to return the toilet and needed a pick up. The gentleman I talked to put my phone number in the system incorrectly so I never got the 30 min call on arrival to pick up defective toilet and missed the connection. This is where the customer service was excellent. I spoke with CHRISTY about missing the connection and she did her absolute best on trying to get the driver to return but was not successful. At 1st she couldn't find my order due to the incorrect phone number in the system. I told her I would get my work order number once I returned home. She called me back 10 min after hanging up and she said she looked up my number from caller ID and she found my order. She rescheduled my pick up for a later date. Later that day I was able to use a truck to return the Item and CHRISTY was there. She made the return simple and fast with a friendly smile and was super professional. We were looking for toilets so I saw they had two different kinds two different brands and I asked the person that first caught my eye. I was at Home Depot on Rosedale Highway around 10:30 am today. I asked for assistance on helping find what was need to fix a toliet paper holder that came loose at my house. I was given assistance by a guy named Dashawn. He was awesome! He helped me find the Toggle Bolts and directed me on how to complete the repair. When I got home, I followed his directions and was able to simply repair it in a few minutes, He was so customer friendly and went out of his way to meet my needs. Your customer service is in immediate need of improvement. We get there and your cashier was falling asleep. A coworker even told her to wake up. You had a forklift driver and a flagger wasting time. Very unprofessionally managed store!!!!! They have crates down the middle of the isles, with large nails and screws exposed that they just leave. They lock up the garden center hours before the posted closing time. When you do an order pickup they give you the wrong items, so you have to make another trip to return the wrong items they gave you, they do not compensate for the inconvienence or apologize. Came in yesterday for a few plants. Checked out at the garden dept and found a cashier working the "self check out". Waited my turn and the cashier rang up 2 plants that rang up for more than the listed price. I pointed it out as the plants were literally right next to the register with a huge sign. She acted dumb and wouldn't look at the sign and said she couldn't adjust the price. What kind of cashier can't adjust a price? I was sent inside to stand in line again to get a price adjustment. We went to Home Depot for a wood wall in our house. We looked at fence posts for $1.67 each but wanted a smoother piece of wood since this will be going up in our living room and will be stained. We eventually found a pack (6 slats wrapped together in cellophane with a label on the top end) of tongue in groove boards that were 8ft long and 5inches wide. The price was $14.98. I thought we'd scored as our friend got some for $5.00 each just days prior...but low and behold, the cashier couldn't find the barcode on the label. He called the "manager" over and he broke the bad news that each piece was $14.98! I told Mr. Manager that this was very misleading as the cellophane wrapped around the 6 pieces of wood suggested that the PACK was $15! He asked me if I wanted it or not My husband talked me into getting it anyway since it was a really nice piece of wood...but, I just want to say...I'm NOT happy about it! read more

I was disappointed in their communication on delivery of my flooring, they indicated it would be delivered in 2 to 3 days and ended up being scheduled to be delivered in 1 week from order date. But in order to get product sooner, I had to hire someone else to deliver so I could get it quicker because Home Depot hires 3rd party trucking. If Home Depot would have indicated it can take up to 1 week to deliver, at least I would have known ahead of time and scheduled accordingly. They said they did their job and didn't feel they were late. So I asked for $500 credit for the inconvenience and communication breakdown and they only gave $100. There was a communication break down and they need to be clearer on deliveries. I only hope the product is good as they told me. read more

Most service reps here have zero knowledge about the items the stores sell's and when you can't find anything and ask you always get the same answer which is if you don't see it we don't have it. Weird how their online says they have 300+ but they are out. Zero service here. The last product I needed was some offset snips that cut both left and right. Upon finding them in the tool section I couldn't help but scratch my head in trying to figure out why when you buy them separately they each cost $14.97 but if you bought them together it was $36.97(18.48 each). Then when you pay closer attention you see they do this with all their bulk package buy items. As consumers we have all been trained that when buying in bulk or things together it's cheaper and here Home Depot is taken advantage in hopes people don't catch this so that they can make even more money off you! This was the final straw for me here and I don't ever see myself shopping with another Home Depot again moving forward. read more

Service sucks bigtime! I'm never gonna go back to this branch anymore. I recently bought a house near the area and went here for stuff that I need. Took me forever to find the things that I need mainly because all the staff that I asked keeps pointing me to the wrong aisle, and yes, POINTING! In other home depot branches that I've been to, they will walk with you and show you where it's at. I asked 4 different employees, 2 of them told me the wrong aisle number and left, there were a group of 3 who are walking around talking and laughing, I asked them and pointed "try over there" and continued walking. I also had my new keys copied and the girl doing it looks like she's so bored with her life. I really needed the stuff the I need, I only got the most important ones and for the rest, I'll just get them online. And oh, there was a stray cat in one aisle lol. Wow. These employees do NOT know what they're doing. The customer service is horrible. No one is knowledgeable, most of them seem annoyed when you have any sort of question and even if you "bother them" with a question they don't even know a response other than telling you to call or check back in later when "insert name" is in to help, because MAYBE they will know: I'm not one to complain much. However, each time I been into this store it's been nothing but a frustrating experience. Yes this is a bad review. Solely on customer service or lack there of. The person at the lumber entrance did all she could to get me help yet not one showed up in lumber for 15 minutes, or 6 calls for assistance on the speaker. She asked an employee, I'm assuming a supervisor, if there was someone to assist in lumber. She briefly said yes as she walked by to continue her focus on telling another employee what to do. After a couple calls on the speaker, entrance employee then asked some gentlemen on a forklift and they said there was No one. Thank you to her for trying her best to help me. Although no one came.... So I went and helped myself. I guessed the wood I needed and I found the awesome Mauricio (I think) to help me get some boards cut. He also helped me find screws. Bless him or else I would never have gotten help in lumber. I then went to paint for a stain. I needed to check the colors on my wood. I waited 5 minutes with my wood and stain at the mixing section . I called the lady in paint "excuse me" when it seemed she had some time to give me JUST A RAG. she ignored me. I waited. She seemed to be struggling with an order that preoccupied her from looking up. I walked over to her. Said I just needed a rag. She looked around and continued to help the other customer. She ignored me again. I, At this point, HELPED MYSELF AGAIN. I used my fingers to check the colors in my wood. I found my stain and left this facility. I let another employee know of my encounter at paint as well. Whoever the managers are on shift, now on 1/31 at around 5PM-5:30PM I recommend checking your employees on shift to actually help those who need it and request it. AND MAYBE SCHEDULE accordingly since it seems that there is lack of assistance in certain departments. ...I will be taking my DIY needs to Lowe's now. read more
