A month and a half ago I ordered a new Samsung microwave through Home Depot. The first one that was delivered was missing the plug, the replacement took 2 weeks to arrive and was also damaged (looked like someone took a hammer to it), today the third replacement was delivered at 6:30PM, after being told by Samsung that I would receive "white glove service" for all the inconvenience. The delivery/install team put the box down in the kitchen and said have a good one. I said wait you have to install it and he goes oh we don't do that...and I said what do you mean I paid for installation. Then he started looking around trying to find reasons why he couldn't do it. He told me he had to return to his truck to call the dispatch office to figure out what happened. He got in his truck and sped away. So now I have an uninstalled microwave sitting in my kitchen after waiting a month and a half and no resolution because the installation company is closed after 6. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY MAJOR APPLIANCES FROM HOME DEPOT BECAUSE THEY CLEARLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. read more

If there were the possibility of negative stars, Home Depot in Bloomfield would get it. I'm a decisive buyer and didn't need much help. Nonetheless, it was impossible to get a salesperson to execute the simple sale of a stove. Called for a manager, still nothing. Finally we had to practically tackle someone who reluctantly helped us...or so we thought. We filled out the paperwork and set up the delivery for today. We got two confirmations yesterday by phone, and several email confirmations. Then a call from the delivery guy who was 15 minutes away. Then unbelievably, I received a call from the delivery company. The Home Depot "sales" person who entered our address with the delivery company spelled our street name with one letter wrong...yes...one letter. The delivery company said they could not deliver the stove, even though they were right in the neighborhood. In the age of GPS, because there was a typo in the address, they would not deliver. I was in complete disbelief. I called Home Depot. Could not believe my ears. The person I spoke to said not only would they not deliver, but that they would have to cancel the entire order and I would have to place it all over again. NOT IN THIS LIFETIME!!! I kept repeating this...you mean because your sales clerk made a typo, you are cancelling my order??? Yes. And she said she would have a manager call me in just a minute. That was hours ago...I'm still waiting. (NOT) I've had negative experiences with Home Depot in the past (a surly sales person who cut shades incorrectly TWICE and then blamed me, even though I had the older shades with me), but this stupidity, inefficiency and lack of customer service is simply beyond belief. And if you are at all concerned about your health, avoid this Home Depot at all costs The place was crowded, the aisles were not one-way, there was NO social distancing, long lines, and I saw many people with masks down around their necks. I guess the philosophy is pack the people in, don't provide service, then cancel the orders. Quite the business model! Worst purchasing experience ever. It will NOT be repeated. read more

Oh my gosh where do I begin? first of all the entire paint department was a mess! one girl talked so much I asked her to shush! she kept asking me questions and going all around what I wanted which was the same paint i came in there for earlier today. I asked for matte they gave me flat. i asked for a good paint that will coat and they gave me something that is a disaster. we are on the fourth gallon of paint for one living room. it is glidden. HORRIBLE! i have to now go back and get a fifth gallon of paint. a waste of time. the workers are in here exhausted having now put three coats of paint on the walls. .ALL TO NO AVAIL. they were talking about smoking weed and the weekend plans instead of helping. Home Depot & ACS, 3rd party contractor for Home Depot was the worst customer service event & installation of living room of laminate flooring. This horrific event started 15 months ago and still is not resolved. My was inside my closet was damaged. On the first installment, they forgot to do the closet by the entry door. The laminate flooring by the second closet was improperly installed. When you walk in the area, the sliding closet door move along with the floor. The trimming has peeled away from the wall, along with when you walk on the floor, you can hear the underlay crunching upon walking on the floor. Home Depot forged my name on a document that I was satisfied with the uncompleted work. I had a 3,000 credit limit on my account, now they have zero my account from non -payment, and I have never been late on paying my bill. They stated they are going to settle my account but no settlement have been received as of yet. I am trying to get my house in order for the holidays. My credit was ruin because of Home Depot and my floor and house is a mess. How is this fair? The Regional Manager admitted he dropped the ball on this case, but it does not restore in this store. I originally went with Home Depot, because of its reputation and it's a major chain and I would not get ripped off. I was wrong in my logical thinking. If you hear ACS as flooring company run and keep running, don't stop. This is a horrible company, they sent 2 Mexican who could not speak English. read more

Home Depot is Home Depot, right? Pretty much. I've been coming to this Home Depot often since moving to Montclair, for little projects of my own and my neighboring favorita's nuuuuumerous projects (to which I am always so happy to lend my handy helping hands.) Here's why this Home Depot gets and extra star compared to the normalcy of every other Home Depot I've been: the people here really want to help you. I mean, they go out of their way to help you. For example, I was here yesterday helping mi favorita get some paint. Getting paint with her is never, ever a quick process. It can become quite time consuming. I swear I'm not complaining, I believe people should really feel comfortable and confident with such decisions. Plus I know with many similar things I will take forever to make the right decision. (I'm trying to apply this process to choosing women more wisely...) Anyway, a woman that works there saw my friend toiling over her decision between 3 extreeemely similar shades of blue, and stepped in and asked about the lighting that would be on the wall we were painting. She then led us to this contraption that lets you look at the paint samples under different lighting. This cut like 5 hours off of the decision process! =P Seriously though, It really helped. I find the workers here are very often this outgoing. Thus, I thought they deserved a shout-out. I always look forward to going here. read more

Their employees are not the most pleasant and God forbid you need paint, you'll have 3 people working there and still have to wait 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged, and then another 20-30 just waiting for the paint! Bryan spent quite sometime with me going through different screw types and sizes until we found exactly what I needed and gave me back up option as well. Such a help. These guys at the Bloomfield location are the absolute pits. The building is in a residential zone, and despite noise complaints, they insist on running leaf blowers for hours at a time at 3am, 4am, 6am, 7am. When confronted with their rudeness, they smile and say, "Every morning!" read more

Don't even think of buying carpeting from this place. To begin with, and maybe this is the biggest problem, nobody knows how to use the computer. In addition to the store itself you will be dealing with two separate subcontractors - the measurers and the installers. There is little or no communication between the three. My job was measured wrong, resulting in a shortage at install time and a need to reorder. When the reorder came in HD called ME and claimed to have no idea how to contact the installer. This is far from finished. I need to carpet another stairway but I will be shopping elsewhere for that. read more

I asked a woman standing right outside the section if there is someone who could help and she said they are probably somewhere out there pointing outside so I headed outside through two door ending up outside where there were only men out there wrapping up the trees. A sufficient Home Depot. You can find help and the people are helpful. The parking is fine. The employees happily help you lift things. The lines are short and the store is fully stocked. This Home Depot location is the worst when it comes to customer service. It always takes forever for me to find an employee on the floor who isn't already snatched up by another customer, and they don't always know what they're talking about. For example, I went there this past weekend because a woodchuck has been going after my kitchen garden, and the girl I asked for help (who only helped me after I flagged her down after she walked past me three times) told me I should just use the cages I use for my tomato plants. Guess what? My plants were destroyed. It wasn't until I did my own research that I found a solution. Do yourself a favor, go to American Royal Hardware in Montclair instead. read more

I ordered some Hampton Bay cabinets at Home Depot. When I ordered the expected date of delivery was 5-6 days after my original order date. It is now just almost 2 months after I ordered and I just got my last 2 items which are damaged and I'll need to send them back and reorder, not to mention that I had already returned 1 item cause it was damaged and returned 2 items that they sent the wrong size. After all this Home Depot has refunded me just about $200 for my "troubles", mind you that now I spent over the price of the cabinets for me and my family to eat since early February and will continue to do so probably until the end of April which is the new estimated delivery date. It is a shame that Home Depot does business with such unscrupulous companies, just a disgrace. Needless to say, DON'T ORDER FROM HOME DEPOT or Hampton Bay. read more

I wish I could rate this place -1 because my experience was that bad. I ordered two small things for pickup on a Saturday. I got an email that it was ready on that Sunday. Go to the store, wait in line, show my identification and order number for it not to be at the customer service center at all. The woman says she'll get someone to handle it so I walk around for 10 minutes, thinking it was just a mistake. 10 minutes turns to 50 and I am still waiting for this stupid order. The woman is nice enough to to help provide me with updates. She asks a man to get the order and of course, he's nowhere to be seen. She gets frustrated and apologizes to me since I've been waiting forever. She goes to get it and comes back with it. I appreciate her for doing this, but I'm overall pissed and frustrated that I had to wait for something that the Home Depot said was prepared. Thankfully, the woman gave me a discount, but it was still an excruciating experience. Had the cashier not been so nice, I would have been more pissed off. read more

Employee Jessalyn (Sp?) walks up to me while I'm trying to purchase a can of spray paint and says very rudely "We're closing this aisle", to which I responded "Ok, well i'm just picking a can of spray paint". She says again that they're closing this aisle and proceeds to stand uncomfortably close to me glaring at me. I ask her to please stop standing so close and staring at me, to which she replies "I'm not staring at you". I then explain that I'm simply picking a can of spray paint and am going to take my time doing so, so she needs to not stand over me any more. She walks away, and I go about my business when a manager (presumably and who's name I didn't get) walks up and says "Were you being rude to her?" Baffled, I say no and explain what's just happened. He says "well two wrongs don't make a right". I tell him I'm just trying to buy a can of spray paint and be on my way and would have been gone 10 minutes ago if not for now two employees standing over me and elongating the process. He seemed to realize how ridiculous this was, told me I was right and walked off with the employee. All she needed to do to close the aisle was say "Excuse me sir, can I help you find anything, we need to close this aisle" and I would have been gone, but instead decided to have a nasty attitude and try and stop me from spending money at your store! This is seriously the worst customer service experience I've ever had. read more

This wasn't a great Home Depot. Frequently, I would head over to Clifton if I needed any assistance but I gave Bloomfield another chance and have been pleasantly surprised. Associates have gone above and beyond to help me on my last several visits. This last time they even gave me a $12 item for $5 when the lower priced item was not in stock. This HD is one of the worse I've ever visited. If you already know what you want and you're okay with finding it on your own, you can go there and you will be fine. God help you if you should go there and require any assistance whatsoever. There seems to be a million people walking around in those orange aprons but they literally go in the other direction if they see you coming towards them to get assistance. The customer service people at the counter are rude and always appear to be overwhelmed although I don't know why because it takes 30 minutes to assist one customer with the simplest of things. They should consider retraining customer service and staffing this store with knowledgeable professionals. If you have the time, head over to the HD at 955 Bloomfield Avenue, in Clifton. There is a very noticeable difference in the quality of customer service and overall way the store is managed. read more

I have not been to this Home Depot for a period of time now mainly because I had moved out of state and now I moved back to Glen Ridge. I must say that this store has cleaned up in in many ways and the service I received was great. I needed a few items for the house we just moved into and got assistance in every department from paint to hardware to garden. Everyone was helpful and knowledgable. I definitely came back home and made sure I gave them a shout out for making a great impression and leaving me with a positive experience. I will be back soon I'm sure. read more

Store is very busy due to its location and small size however it is very well stocked. I usually shop during the day for my business and i must say that the staff is always friendly and helpful. I rarely have a bad experience unlike the many mixed reviews. My recent purchase was in hardware for a Milwaukee combo set and the young man that helped me was knowledgeable and very polite and couldn't have asked for better service. read more
