No other stores could get us the exact one we wanted, so that was the first big plus. The truck came perfectly within the time estimate and the delivery was smooth and easy. While out running errands I popped into this Home Depot just to see if they had any house plants I didn't have. I picked up a few succulents, some cactus soil and a huge bag of perlite. I didn't realize it but the perlite had a slash on the bottom and had been taped up. I didn't realize til I was putting it in my car and didn't have time to return it at that moment. I will be returning it because who knows how much of the perlite is gone from the bag. Overall the store was nice and clean but the house plants were in odd locations and I had to search for them. Please save yourself the trouble. I had the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with an MIS installation. It is going on 1 year and I still haven't received reimbursement for my installation. I have been calling, coming in physically, and actually physically brought my complaint to the store manager. GUess what they told me today? We don't have record and we don't recall this incident. I guess this is the easy way out...Please don't ever come here. Additionally, they do not support the 10% Military discount that Lowe's does. I will never ever go here for anything ever again. They're very knowledgeable about their store and product, and home improvement in general. The store doesn't carry as much inventory or variety as other Home Depots in the area which is disappointing, but that is offset by the quality of the staff. Tons of parking up front and in rear. Easy loading areas, and onsite truck rentals of all sizes --very reasonable priced. Great store in general. read more

Went to this HD for the first time today. I've always seen it from 485 driving by, but never really stopped since I usually go to the one in Matthews. This HD is unique since there are 2 entrances - one in the shopping center and then the regular "entrance" around the back. It's kinda cool actually since the shopping center entrance make the big box store look like a regular store in a strip mall but then the actual store is hidden behind the other store fronts in the Promenade. This is my regular Home Depot store and I can only say nice things. Recently, we have purchased a new refrigerator, a new washer, and a new dryer from here. The customer service was outstanding and the entire process was smoother than silk. Today, I went for a bag of vermiculite, which is a soil filler. They had only one big bag that had been busted open and someone had put some clear strapping place over the puncture in the bag. Unfortunately, the product was still getting out of the bag every time the bag was moved. So, I had to get someone to get me another bag from the very highest shelf. The employee was helpful and all was fine. I just think it's a bit shoddy to repair a torn bag with a piece of tape. Better to have a discount section in this store and mark down items such as this. I must admit that I normally shop at Lowe's...but from time to time, I stop into this store if Lowe's is out of stock on an item I need. I generally find the employees here to be friendly, but for me the layout and product placement in this store isn't intuitive. I often have trouble finding items & usually have to ask for help to find what I am shopping for. The exception is plants & garden items... those are generally easy to find since they are in the outdoors section. read more

This has to be the worst Home Depot. I've been there 3 times in the last two days. First I purchased 4 trees and two bushes. I had to go back not once but twice to get the UPCs. Hard to believe they don't have a way to look up trees at the checkstand or that they wouldn't offer to get the upc themself. Of course no offer to help put the trees and bushes in the car the first or second time I made purchases. Then they sold opened and growing grass seed to my 68 year old mother. It had been opened and taped back together. I took it back and their solution to their poor decision and wasting my time was that I could get some more. Sorry but trying to dupe an elderly woman and wasting someone's time to fix the problem and your solution is I can go get some more?!?!?!? I don't think so. I'm going to Lowe's across the street from now on. BTW, the store across the street had what I needed at a cheaper price!!!! Well I tried returning the manager's call about my poor experience but was left on hold for over 10 minutes. Maybe their phones are broken???? With decline of the Ballantyne Lowe's across the street, I have grown to appreciate this Home Depot more and more. Whereas I used to shop here about 20% of the time and Lowes 80%, those numbers have now reversed. Customer service is much better as is knowledge of the product. I bought a new GE dishwasher at this place in July of 2020. So far I have experienced the lack of drying which I am told takes 3 hours. I have dealt with Home Depot constantly telling me that the problem belongs to GE because it's over 30 days since purchase. Since we purchased it we have only had use of it for about 2 months total. The second issue was water pouring out of the bottom of the dishwasher and I mean pouring. We just happened to be here. In addition to the flooding water one of the wheels caught fire and melted. We tired it off before we had a burnt down house or flood. Good grief. GE refuses to replace the dishwasher and Home Depot shrugs it off and blames it on GE. Home Depot took my thousand dollars and ran but I have only gotten more run around after appointments where I have been stood up and many many parts to fix a new dishwasher. This is pitiful. I recently bought a house close to this Home Depot, so I'm here quite often. My last trip there, I had to pick up an item that required me to rent a van. I called before going to the store to ensure the cab was available. Jake answered the phone, I told him the item I was picking up and that I had to rent the van. I mentioned I had a tight time window to rent the van and pick up the item. When I got to Home Depot 10 mins later, Jake had already pulled the item so it was ready to go and he very quickly got all the paperwork done for the rental. Best Home Depot in Charlotte The store has two main entrances, I personally like the one next to the open green space. Whenever I enter the store I am always greeted by a smile from the cashiers. Carts are always plentiful except for maybe the peek hours on the weekend! Randal and Dawn are my personal favorites if I need help. The Home Depot app also provides me with reviews on products and lets me know where in the store they are. If a product is sold out, someone in the department can always suggest another product. I have never encountered a department associate who doesn't know their stuff! Sometimes you have to wait 15 minutes for someone but thats ok because the advice from the staff are really helpful. When checking out I prefer to go to the regular check out because there are never any lines and plenty of cashiers. I haven't signed up for a credit but I am asked every time. I try to fill out the surveys and sometimes forget but they highlight it so it's easy to remember. Overall this store is amazing and the customer service is unlike any other. I tried Lowes but nothing compares to the South Charlotte Home Depot! read more

Great trip to the Promenade Home Depot. As I pulled into the parking lot, a young man gathering carts signaled to me that there was an open space up front. The lady at the front entrance new exactly where the somewhat obscure item I was looking for was located, saving me running around looking all over the store (especially since what I was looking for was outside in the garden center). At the checkout, the guy in front of me couldn't make his credit card work in the machine, but the cashier patiently assisted him through the process. Funny how at Home Depot, warranties and personnel, aren't what they say they are. For starters I bought an extended warranty from the for a washer and dryer combo. 1 year download the dryer failed and the warranty is useless in aiding in a smooth repair transaction. Im still out $125 for the repair (which I was told was gonna be reimbursed) Thanks Home Depot for the warranty . Secondly I've been contacted and scheduled to have someone fixed my Wraught Iron door and 8 months have passed with no shows. Again, excellent job Home Depot. Photos soon to come. read more

DO NOT DO A KITCHEN DESIGN PROJECT WITH THIS STORE! We are on week 9 of a kitchen renovation project (that we were told would take 2 weeks) and still do not know when our kitchen will be done. My wife and I have had to be the general contractor calling everyone to keep things moving. We've also had to be quality control identifying installation and product defects. This review is for the flooring department, only. We are looking to change out the carpeting in our entire house. This is a big project and considering that we had our current house built new 10 years ago (carpeting was included) and we came from an apartment with carpeting in only a few rooms we are complete novices when it comes to carpeting. We went to Home Depot knowing that they have a large selection of carpeting choices and they were offering a interest-free promotion that was interesting. We also went there for, what we hoped would be, knowledgeable sales staff to assist us with the "process". Well, we were right about the choices, but completely wrong about the knowledgeable sales staff. The one girl working in this department was able to tell us what the ordering, measuring, and installation process is and she also seemed gleeful about warning us about the number of hidden charges, but her depth of knowledge shallowly ended there. We asked her for advice and even admitted that we were completely unsure as to which carpets were best for our home, but she offered no guidance whatsoever. We wandered around aimlessly for about approx 30 minutes when a different sales associated noticed that we looked lost and offered to help...granted, he said that he knew NOTHING about carpeting, but at least he cared enough to help. Finally, we decided to leave. We then turned to Yelp for reviews on local flooring specialist and ended up at locally-owned flooring store where they were extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and has all-inclusive pricing that beats HD! read more

Oh landlord had carpet installed from this location, from my understanding they contract out the work, which is fine but anything that happens reflects onto HD. First the installer threatened my cats in which we literally just moved to area and to boot they broke our futon. It has been almost 2 weeks since the installation and still no resolution. I understand HD contracts their services out but in the end it still comes down to them. read more

This is my primary HD so I've been there dozens of times. There is a Lowes across the street so I'm constantly comparing prices. The reason I go to one or the other depends on the product brand or variety of choices. Either store may have the brand name or variety that I seek. For instance, I tend to buy the lumber from Lowes because their selection has been better or the materials were more in line with what I needed. Regardless, This HD is clean, well kept and managed. The staff are helpful - a few have been there a long time and know there stuff. read more

ordered an appliance, was supposed to be delivered on 1/9 and received confirmation. appliance never showed. the tracker was showing that I was next in line to have my appliance delivered. No one ever reached out to let me know they were not coming, no phone call, nothing. I sat at my house for 10 hours waiting for someone to reach out. Called the customer service line 10 times and not once was i able to reach a human being to speak with about an update. called home depot to let them know that this is unacceptable, was completely dismissed by the "delivery manager" Lori. she was rude and did not take into account that the delivery system she has had completely failed. When you spend over $2000 on an appliance you expect the process to go smoothly. Not to have 0 communication and then be completely dismissed. this will be my last time ever shopping at this home depot. read more

BEWARE IF INSTALLING CABINETS OR APPLIANCES!!! BOBBY DOLE does not work for Home Depot but they recommend him at several locations. Do NOT hire him. He is unprofessional and will not answer your texts or messages. He charged me $3900 and did a crappy job installing my $25K custom cabinets. He is just as bad with appliances. He will NOT answer my dozen or more messages and the person who handled my kitchen at Home Depot cannot get him to answer her either. I've got two appliances that were not installed properly and now I have to hire another person to fix them. He also screwed up my cabinet drawers and now I'm trying to get the manufacturer to help me get it fixed. This is a disaster in a kitchen remodel that I paid a lot of money. Initial problems with a bathroom vanity but they fixed it.

My dad and I went to this location to buy a chest freezer today. We had done our research and already knew what we wanted to purchase. We went to the freezer section and easily found the one we wanted. There was no one around to help us so we found the closest associate to ask for help and she was completely clueless. She found the freezer in top stock but then we were told that the only person who could help us was with another customer. Really?? There's only one person that can get a freezer down??? Then she tells us she's going to ask her manager who then tells her that he is going to get another manager.... 45 minutes later, we're still standing in the same spot with no help. That second manager never showed up. We left and went to Lowe's, where we had great customer service. Unfortunately they did not have what we wanted. We reluctantly went back to home depot and got even more crappy service. We were able to FINALLY get the freezer we wanted but when we got to the checkout we noticed that the model number was different and got attitude from the associate that got it down when we asked about it. We just wanted to make sure we were getting the right product. It ended up taking almost 2 hours to buy a freezer... ridiculous!! read more
