I don't shop at this Home Depot regularly but I happen to be in the area, every time I've come here it's been a pretty good experience, well not today, we all know there's a line for everything now, I got what I needed got in line for about 10 minutes as I got to register a gentleman and his wife step in ! I politely said " sir the back of the line is back there " if looks could kill I'd be dead lol " he said I've been in line, so not only is he a crowder but a liar ok whatever I let him go, I got to the self serve register and the lady was wiping it down ( Home Depot employee) I said thank you once again if looks could kill I'd be dead ) I asked her how is your day going she stared at me for a few akward seconds and said ok, I said thanks again for cleaning? I bagged everything and realized it's 110degree out I'll get some water, it's at arms length she's coming to clean the Register I said I forgot water she said are you serious!! I hesitated to check out this Home Depot because of the horrible reviews, but I braced myself on a weekday with Orchard Hardware as a back-up. At the lumber section, I was doing the math and trying to figure out how many 2x4's I needed. A nice employee helped pick out the best combo and was nice to cut the pieces to fit into my SUV. While I was looking at shears and combinations squares, another nice employee offered some tips. Check out was very streamlined. All in all, customer service was awesome! As someone who has worked there, I can provide a bit of insight. Please please please before going and not knowing what you're looking for, download the app and set this store to your store. Then search up any item and the app will tell you where it is in the store. So many people ask where stuff is when they're standing right next to it or end up asking someone in hardware where something is in let's say Garden. The truth is the associates do not want to help you, sure there's some that absolutely don't mind but for the most part, they just want to do their job and not have to worry about what you need. Good place to shop. People are very helpful and are always ready to help. Nice lady walked me to the area where I can find stake for my garden hose. She explained how to use them and what to watch out from them when I take them out in the future. Specially after long time they get very Rusty which can be dangerous. Great experience. I didn't want to walk all the way to check out area on the other side of the store so I just asked couple ladies on service /return area if I can check out there. Well they were very friendly and without a doubt or trouble they said sure sure not a problem. This kind of service still exists in big box retailer is very good. Continue guys. A good place for hardware and supplies. I've gone here ever sense I was a little kid. My dad had come almost every Friday for supplies. A good place if you are building something. We've always had a good experience here but finally decided to write a review solely on my man Mel in lighting and pest control. We had been suffering from something that kept biting and disappearing and not only did Mel give us different approaches on how to treat our problem he was honest. He gave us natural ways to treat it and recommended some fog treatments. He was such a genuine guy and he took the time to help us. He never rushed us or pushed anything on us. We ended up leaving with some bed bug traps and a fogger. A+ to Mel. Someone needs to buy him lunch. read more

This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a home improvement retailer. I went up to an employee to ask a simple question and he would not acknowledge me other than a condescending "yes" without even turning his head! I waited for him to treat me a a human being but he did not stop what he was doing. I waited there for about 20 seconds or so and he just kept looking at his items. At that point I just walked away! Then at the self checkout, I asked the two attendants who talking about personal matters if I could get one of them to help me apply my veterans discount! One rolled her eyes and said with annoyed tone OK and exhaled like I just asked her to wash all the cars in the parking lot! This seriously is the worst store. Every time we go in, it's like trying to find where's Waldo when looking for an employee to help you. Then when you find someone, it's not their "section" or they are rude and not helpful. The only way we go in here is by searching on the app or web prior to arrival so we know where the item is we are looking for. Or we order to store pick up so we don't have to deal with anyone. On Friday we went in to order custom paint (paint match) the guy said it would be ready in 10 mins. No big deal we walked around grabbing other items we needed. So after about 10/15 mins I walked back over and no one was there but there was a couple paint cans with various colors. I looked for mine but there was 2 that could've been it. Typically they leave the piece they matched on top of the can so you know it's yours.... well NONE of the cans had any clue of what each was matched to. Ok.... so I waited about 5 mins along with several other angry customers. There were 3 younger employees standing around in an aisle talking about hair and makeup and on their cell phones... they kept looking over but not making any attempt to help.... cool so staring will make us calmer right? So one eventually made her way over and as I was first in line at the counter, I assumed she was going to walk over and help me. NOPE. Another lady walked up at the same time the employee walked up and she helped her instead. This lady was on the phone screaming at someone about what she needed to pick up an the employee was ignoring everyone else. I finally walked up and cut them off and I said I just need my paint I had matched. The employee - her name was Jessica - rudely said it's right there and waved her hand at me. First off... rude. So I explained that I was unsure which was mine as my sample was not in sight of the can. She stated well if it's not yours don't take it. If it wasn't color matched, we would've tossed it and they would leave a note. Ok........... now I'm getting pissed. I asked her her name and read it on her orange apron and said look Jessica I just need my paint. ThIs looks similar to what I dropped off so I will take this but I would like you to look for my sample color I brought in. She rolled her eyes - I'm holding it together so I don't lose my mind because I just want to go home - and she walks in a circle and looks around and of course nothing. So I walk away and looked for a manager.... and guess what.... after 5 mins of waiting for a manger NO-ONE SHOWS UP. Shocking. Also had similar experiences when calling into the store as well. Been transferred around to various sections, given the exact aisle/bay number to get a response that they don't have it. My usual response is cool so basically I have to come down and verify it's not there because i would bet MONEY the lazy employees in this store didn't even move from their spot. And as always we walk in and lo and behold - it's there right at eye level. So thanks Home Depot for hiring incompetent children with attitudes who have no drive to help anyone. read more

I went to purchase a $69 large chair cushion and after waiting in the checkout line was told I needed to go to self checkout, because her scanner gun wasn't working and they could scan it at self checkout. So I did, only I had to scan it myself without a scanner gun as the two employees at self checkout were visiting with each other. When I hit the pay icon, the screen didn't work right, the cashier did stop visiting to tell I did it wrong, and she told me what to do. I told her that's exactly what I did and she just looked annoyed and walked away. Nice!! Thanks HD for 0 service, 0 help. Customer problems 2, Cashier Avoiding Customer 2. What saved the day was, I saw Sean, a Cashier that had helped me earlier (this was my second visit of the day) in the garden department when the line was 7 deep, it reminded you have some really good associates too. I went there for a duplicate key. Simple. I approached a cashier to summon an associate to the key machine. 15 minutes later, I went back to the cashier. "All the lines are busy. Go to customer service." Ok. I ask an associate in customer service if she would summon an associate. Ok. 15 minutes later, I leave. Went to Orchard Supply. 7 minutes later, got my key. This was my first of two reviews today! So I'm in the paint department I ask the lady for some paint two small test colors! She starts to write down info on one then I put the second one down and she's tells me hold on I can only do one thing at a time! Wow I thought she was going to call security! So she says it's going take ten minutes! So I go pick up a few more things and head back now there's a few people standing around! I see her finish what I thought was my paint she says here ok guess that's mine! But instead of walking up to me and handing it to me she put it down all the other way around the other side of the counter! Not many people skills at all! Don't bother with curbside pick up here. First, they have 4 stalls which are always full and means you have to park in a regular spot with your blinkers on and the employees can't find you. Second, by time they actually make it out with your freaking order you could go shop two times over for what you came to buy. Why are they so short staffed, especially on a Saturday! read more

Wow, this place was incredible. I pulled up at 7:15pm almost the contractor lumber side was completely shutdown. Doors locked, cash registers off. I pull a trailer doing commercial work across the country and spend about 150k annually at HD's across the country . This is the 1st store that had the contractor pick up/lumber side closed. After walking in through regular entrance I encountered these 2 young kids in paint that couldn't figure how to mix this pint of paint. I was the only customer that wanted paint and they called for reinforcement. After asking for 2 gallons of White. 1 gallon of green. I went and finished my shopping, swing back by to grab my paint. They only made 1 gallon of each. So now they had to call the manager back down because they didn't know how to enter pro #. After all the debacle in paint, now I had to weave. My 10' 2x6's through the 3' wide cash register meant only for shopping carts. I made the cash register guy push the lumber out (which he couldn't ) because it was to narrow. Anyway I'm tired of writing this review because it's still angers me even more after reminding myself of the absolute catastrophe of a visit I had. This Shaw Home Depot does not deserve a star. Not one at all. But for the sake of Yelp the people has to regardless of whether they want to or not. I've physically made my body go into this Shaw Home Depot against its will. Out of the fifth to sixth times, I'd end up thinking, "should've went to Lowe's." Their customer service is not friendly or helpful at all. A more polite way to say it is that the staff in this Shaw Home Depot are best at what they do, they SUCK! I recently called them, due to the fact that I didn't want to go there, to see if "over the phone" would be a more pleasant experience. Its even worst than being there. At least when you're physically in this Shaw Home Depot, the employees has no option but to help you because you're there. Five attempts over the phone to get a quote pricing on some wood materials to replace my fence. Out of the five attempts, I waited for 10 to 15 minutes per attempt. Did they pick up? Of course they did. Although, once they picked up they would just leave the phone not on hold but on the counter desk. How do I know this is what you readers might ask? Because I could hear the all commotions in the background. On my sixth attempt I decided to ask the lady in this Shaw Home Depot that I would like to talk to the head manager. Once he got on the phone, I asked him if there were anyone at all working in the lumbar department. His response was YES! I told him the situation of wanting to purchase a large amount of lumbar from his Home Depot but there were no one to help process my quote. He right there and then said that he could do it for me. I told him thank you but NO THANK YOU! I told him I'll take my business to Lowe's instead. Economy is bad. You either step up your service or start losing customers. read more

Yeah, they have a massive selection of everything you need to do just about any DIY project. Yeah, they have those classes on tile setting and ceiling fan installation. Yeah, the lumber section gives you a choice of buying unmarked lumber or lumber that's been tracked from the source to prove that is came from a sustainable forest. And yeah, the prices are cheaper than Ace Hardware or Orchard's. So why then do I always seem to leave that place with elevated blood pressure and a headache? Well... Unless I'm there at the crack of dawn I can never seem to be able to find a parking spot that's closer than about 1/4 of a mile from the entrance. And the parking situation gets much, much worse when they put up those sales tents in the east end of the lot. I feel more like I'm on an expedition than a shopping trip. Take a bottle of water and some trail mix along folks, because we're going to be here for a while. The place is massive, and not in a good way. They have gotten better about signage, though. In the bad old days the signs were so small you had to walk right up to them to read them, which was less than helpful. Still, the the isles are super long and some sections take up several of them, so once I do manage to schlep over to the section I want I'm in for a long hike to try to find what I need. Whoever came up with the idea of making a working warehouse into a retail outlet is going to face some dire consequences in the afterlife is my reckoning. Often times when I do find what I'm looking for I have to push one of those 15-foot inventory scaffolds out of the way to get at it, or if I'm standing there trying to decide what I want to buy I have to hop out of the way of a fork lift, who's driver (Murphy's Law) will stop right in front of what I was looking at and proceed to offload inventory for the next five minutes. May the Force be with you if you have a question. I think there are three people actually working the floor to assist customers; the rest are busy with other tasks. And is it really necessary to sell 15 different kinds of staple guns? I'm not suggesting we need to adopt the Bulgarian retail strategy, which is to offer just one of everything and very little of anything that's truly useful, but there is something called an embarrassment of choice. I go in for what I think is a pretty basic item: a staple gun. When I see more than a dozen to choose from, my tiny brain gets all addled. Do I need the one that shoots 3 millimeter staples or the one that shoots 5 millimeter staples? Top loading or bottom loading? Will the $9 model suffice or am I better off with the $18 model, which might last longer and give me better performance? And then, of course, there are 35 kinds of staples for the staple guns on display. Which one do I need? I need answers and advice, and I need it now. But can I find anyone to help me? Can I my left foot. And let's not forget about the checking out process. It used to take almost as long to to go through the checkout isle as it did to shop, but things have improved somewhat since they installed those self-checkout machines. Unfortunately, however, whole boatloads of folks can't seem to navigate them successfully, and they all shop at Home Depot at the same time. Murphy's Law, I'm always behind the dude who can't scan his items right, stands there reading the terminal like it's written in Maya hieroglyphs, isn't sure where to feed his credit card, etc., etc., etc. while I fantasize about batting him upside his head with a 2x4 and rolling my pallet over his supine body just to get the hell out of that place. Maybe if I were a professional contractor or hardcore DIYer I'd think this joint was heaven on earth. But I'm not, so I try to stick with the smaller hardware store in town. read more

I don't really need to Yelp! on this one, because everyone that previously reviewed this place has said it all..but my self-esteem is based on becoming Elite, so here I go.. Service is so bad it's just tacky. The place is so gigantic that the trip that you thought would take you ten minutes ends up taking an hour. The only department I've had good service was the paint department..too bad they can't have that department train the rest of the slackers here. On at least three occasions, I have been overcharged for something, sent to the other side of the store to get my money back..then on my way out on the side of the store I was first at, stopped and asked for my receipt to prove that I paid..BY THE CHECKER who overcharged me! They have a good variety of hardware products and the prices are affordable. Worst customer service ever! Our experience with Home Depot started good but months between start to finish ended worst. The installer came out and measured for the doors, we then went in to order. We were told it would be 3wks and our door would be in. I was waiting for a call or an email and when I still hadn't heard anything 4wks after placing the order, that's when it all fell apart. I received several different dates on when it would be in. They couldn't seem to find a tracking number and being shuffled around talking to different people, I finally got someone that actually took the time to do some work. Doors measurements were wrong several times, they Re-order for months same doors and it was still no luck with right measurements. Installers came and we had problems with installments as well. Nonstop problems with the store management and employees. Needless to say we did not get doors installed more then 1year and after one year of Unprofessionalism they decided to not finish installment of 3 doors. False advertisement and worst customer service .stay away from this store if you're going to order doors or flooring or anything's as a special order. read more

Worst Refund Desk employees and service ever. Had an item break within six weeks. Went to exchange item (with my receipt) and was told they would not exchange the item. Item states on the box that it will be exchanged if breaks due to manufacturing defect. Will be shopping at other stores before returning to Home Depot. read more

My husband and I do not live in Fresno but had stopped by this store after we had dropped loved ones off at the airport. The staff was very helpful as we were not familiar with the layout. As my husband went to pay he asked if they offered a military discount. The cashier mentioned she needed to call the manager. The manager arrived (unfortunately we don't remember his name) and told the cashier to write down our order but for us it would be free. He thanked my husband for his service. The returns department is awful! I went in to return my broken Milwaukee tool set which I haven't had for not even 1 yr and it was mission impossible. the girl working the afternoon shift was rude and very disrespectful for questioning my Drivers License picture.she insisted that I wasn't the person on the ID after I told her to examine it carefully is she had trouble identifying all that was making me feel low some fraud or identity Thieve . She definitely needs to seek for a different position or better yet a different job overall because her concern was not customer satisfaction. I understand there are policies that the store follows when returning tools, I didn't have my receipt following my return but if it's returned before 365 days and you don't have receipt they can still give you store credit at least with valid ID. Those facts are on Homedepot web page return policy. Although I pulled up the information online she kept adding excuses and other reasons why I couldn't get my tools returned. I'm not a person to post on such matters and in this manner, but after this horrific experience with The Home Depot I was left with no choice. My parents are in their 80s and not healthy. They can't cook and rely on their microwave to heat readymade food. Due to that when they bought a microwave at The Home Depot not long ago, they also purchased a 95$ extended protection plan to make sure they have good service in case their microwave broke. I can't tell you how shocked we are to find out that their customer service is nonexistent. After more than three (3) weeks without a microwave and more than 7 hours of talking on the phone with The Home Depot "customer service" department, including talking to supervisors Lynn and Cath, and the protection plan company, my parents are still without a microwave! Be warned that it took this much work on our end to finally get them to schedule a technician for THREE WEEKS LATER!!! As stated, The Home Depot and the Extended Protection Plan Company do NOT provide any satisfactory solutions!!! unbelievable!!! Be advised the microwave is still inoperable as we are writing this review. In our hours on the phone with both companies, we provided videos and photos of the electronic message locked on the microwave display. A technician finally came just to look at the same electronic display message and inform us that we now have to call and schedule yet another technician to come, as they need to order a part. He informed us that even though they know ahead of time what part is needed, they must come and confirm it in person before ordering it. Talk about stupidity and lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! To say the least! Our experience is our evidence that The Home Depot and their Protection Plan Company are some of the worst companies to deal with! Their customer service is close to non-existent. The headache you get having to deal with them is just not worth it! Do not shop there!!! Pathetic, worthless and we will NEVER shop at The Home Depot again! read more
