This is my absolute favorite Home Depot! The team there is awesome!! The long time employees are sooo helpful, caring, and cool people. It's like going into your neighborhood hardware store and that's not a feeling you get everywhere in the DMV. No other Home Depot has this vibe that I've been to. They don't have as huge a selection like Bethesda or even near PG plaza but, they have great people who work there. I absolutely love the long time workers but I have to admit their new hires are pretty awesome too. What I love most is they are real people, meaning not robotic or like zombies. I think this store should get a pay raise and increased professional training to have more knowledge. Idk what they actually get paid but, when you have people that are happy at work, want to help, stay for years and years, I would hope they get paid enough to have a good life. One of my favorite workers is the paint guy!! Mr. R. He's been helping me for YEARS and years :-D. Great job to this location. I plan yearly projects and require a lot of supplies for them. Once I enter the door, there is a representative greeting me at the door. This appears to be new but is welcome. My last 3 encounters have been with a wonderful woman named Sandy, at the Pro Shop area. She is a breath of fresh air. Although she's very busy, she's professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate these individuals as shopping at anytime can be stressful. She has created an environment wherein it's been extremely enjoyable and helpful. She's the very best. I don't know when they added it, but I am such a fan of the self-checkout. I know they've had it for at least a few years now. When I got my house, I was always coming here and was in and out in a breeze. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never come when it's busy. And that's from experiences in the nursery area and in-store itself. I'm usually able to find things on my own, and if I've ever struggled, staff gladly assisted. Aside from some incredibly niche tiles, I have always found what I was looking for. I find them affordable for my needs, but let's see when I have a huge project to work on. Til next time! read more

After moving in I needed to run to do a few things and one of those things included hitting up a hardware store. Luckily for me, this is right up the street and made for a very quick stop. We came in here to take a look at what was available in terms of what I needed. We didn't see what we wanted in store, but we were able to track down an employee and get some assistance. They were able to help us find the item we were looking for but we had to have it shipped to the store. That was fine as it was not an item that was needed right away. Came back later to pick it up when it was ready and had another fast interaction here. However, the last visit here was not a great experience. I came in looking for an item that I had just seen the week prior. They must of moved it or something. I was able to track down an employee and asked for some help. But this time it wasn't a great transaction. That employee straight out lied to me that they did not carry the item and then wouldn't even look in the system to see if they offered it. Which I knew they had because I had looked it up online, just didn't know where it was in store. Left me a little sour and ended up going elsewhere to purchase the item. I was exhausted with walking around the store. I can see why this store is right in the middle with rating as it is inconsistent with customer service. I will still come here as it is close to me, but I think I will do a little more research of the items I want before I come in here to figure out where it is in the store on my own. read more

They did not deliver the correct paint as ordered. I ordered Behr Swiss coffee 5 gallon paint for delivery. They delivered paint that was white. Avoid this store for delivery. You would be better off with picking up to ensure they give you the correct paint! read more

Think twice about using their home delivery service. I used it for 2 orders, both were shorted. Only recourse is to return *ALL* items back to the store and hope they'll process it as a complete return. Their delivery feedback mechanism doesn't allow for misdelivered order status. I avoid Home Depot because of their politics and also I prefer my smaller home and garden center, where I can always find a friendly, helpful employee. But I have to give them credit for their garden center. The plants are always healthy looking and well taken care of. And everything is so well marked it's easy to find what you are looking for; perennials, annuals, herbs, etc. While Rich was waiting in line to pay for our plants I wandered into the store and immediately found a cute bird cage planter full of succulents that I added to our cart. I knew exactly what I wanted and which aisle to find it thanks to info on their website. However I wanted another item. Donald approached me and asked if I needed assistance. He walked me over to the idea I needed. He did the same thing for my friend. He mentioned he has been with Home Depot for over 30 years! They are lucky to have an employee like Donald. I used the self checkout but had another helpful employee, Carol assisted me with registering my name for a service installation request. The Home Depot down the street in Silver Spring is actually closer, but customer service here can't be beat! read more

Do not get your appliances at Home Depot. They send out appliances that have been packed damaged and do not want to exchange them or help you out. I received a dishwasher that had no damage to the outside box or the packaging and the door and inside were bent and they insisted I had to go through GE the manufacturer. GE service inspected it and found it had been damaged inside and the whole unit needs to be replaced. I'll never shop at Home Depot again. This Home Depot have a huge selection of construction materials, plumbing, lighting and electrical items. Tiles are very limited compared to the Prince Georges, Laurel and Columbia locations. Very nicely renovated customer service and register area. This can be a convenient location for in and out rush for items sold out in other branches. Afternoon is not that busy. Early mornings tend to be busy traffic with contractors and landscapers. Garden materials always sold out or low on stock. How frustrating is that ? read more

Worst customer service ever. I came here to get a cleaner that was advertised on their website and stated that it was in stock at this location. Upon arriving, I had trouble finding the product as the locations within the warehouse of the product was not shown. So I finally reached out to a staff member and they told me to go to aisle xx. From there, I go to that aisle and another staff member told me to go to another aisle. Felt like I was going in circles. I finally reached out to another manager and they couldn't find the product and said they do not carry this cleaner here. However, their website stated that they had the product in this location. So it took me 1 hour for walking in circle and dealing with staff members to conclude that they cannot find a product. Wished I would have left this place earlier to avoid the confusion made by management. Recommend going to another Home Depot location. This one appears to be less staffed and takes forever to get their attention. read more

I absolutely had to share this so I'm walking in home depot to get a key made and I saw these color lil plants. That's just caught my eye I literally thought they were plastic until I touched them and realize they were real. Well I was just standing and looking & reading the information that was on the card in the front of the planets & the guy that's work on the floor said that they grow really big and wide but the color do wear off. But I think it's something different and unique to add a lil pop in any room or office here is a plus they only cost $5.98 read more

I tried to do curbside pickup but it didn't happen. I got the 18 different messages saying my order was ready. I managed to fit into the 1.5 spots they dedicate to "curbside pickup". Having clicked on the "Im the store!" link in the conformation email I waited patiently with my 5yo in the back. After a while I called the store, repeatedly with no answer. Yes, I also tried the "pro" line to no avail. After a while we masked up and rolled in to the CS area. After a 10 minute wait just to talk to a person I was told that the clicky "I'm at the store" doesn't work AT THIS store. Also that no one really knows where the calls arrive at. Update After 2 trips there I wrote a 1-star review. I went back a third time. Again, no one to be found to help me at the saw so I sought out the cashier at the large-items/lumber checkout. She said everyone was off, I told her my story that it was my third trip and she called a manager. Manager arrived within 5 minutes and helped me. When I checked out the cashier, without any prompting from me, gave me a 50% discount. I shouldn't have had to go through all that but eventually they made it right. ++++++ Horrible service in the lumber department. I had a simple need. Purchase 3 2x4x10' and have them cut in half to use as cross slats for a bed. I went Saturday morning, they open at 6 and I arrived at 7. They were overwhelmed. I pulled what I needed and moved it to the saw and began looking for an orange vest. None were to be found. After 10 minutes of looking I had other errands, saw they were very busy so planned to return today -Sunday. I arrived later 9am - hoping to avoid the early crush. Pulled what I needed the same situation. After looking for about 10 minutes I walked halfway down to near the appliances area and found 2 guys in orange vests looking at their phones and chatting. I asked one to page for help at the saw and returned. Waited 10 minutes and no one came. The only employees were driving forklifts and carrying flags to warn me about the forklifts. I went in today with a slight emergency (from my perspective) - the vertical walls to my front step have large holes and the concrete continues to crumble if touched. I aka had some driveway issues. Having only limited warm days left before it gets cold I head out to Home Depot. I started grabbing tubes of this and that concrete filler and sealant from the construction aisle and then asked an employee to confirm that I had the right materials for the tasks at hand. The person. I asked wasn't sure but paged Donnie. Donnie was good at listening and getting the facts and was confident of the solution. He helped me find a smaller container of a hydraulic cement that I needed to keep out the water seapage. I hadn't been planning to mix up concrete but he helped me feel confident for the job ahead. He also helped answer the driveway questions I had. To top it off he welcomed me to come back again so we could tackle covering up he whole steps later on with a thin layer of concrete and instructed me how to find info on YouTube. Shout out to HD Appliance delivery "services" for the new dishwasher that will be sitting in the middle of our kitchen on Thanksgiving Day, instead of being installed and ready to roll. Heads up to MD residents who order delivery and installation of dishwashers from HD: It apparently requires two separate appts to actually get your appliance delivered AND installed. We were informed of this the morning of our scheduled delivery / installation via a last minute call from the delivery people contracted by HD to do this work (Pro Home Improvement). Twelve phone calls later and the option on the table is to refuse delivery once the appliance shows up today. Nice. Worth mentioning is that this appliance was due to be delivered and installed on Nov 2 but that one was cxld by HD because they oversold the product and had a back order. Incompetence trophies all around, well done. read more

I ordered an exterior door in May and it finally arrived at the store in August. A date was arranged with the contractor for Installation. The morning of the install the contractor called to say the door was damaged and had to be reordered. It is now October and a Manager called late September to say the door would be in by October 6, haven't heard anything from them. I also placed an order for measurements through Lowes, not realizing both use the same contractor. After 2 months the same contractor called about coming to take measurements for the same door.
