I stopped into this location to pick up a can of matte black spray paint and a set of jigsaw blades. Husband went one way to get the blades, I went the other to get the paint. As I walked by the paint desk, the gentleman behind the counter greeted me pleasantly. I didn't need help since I could see the sign that said "Spray Paint", so I returned the greeting and kept walking. Found exactly what I needed. Headed to the Christmas decoration section and drooled over garland until my husband found me. He was hoping to find a smaller pack of blades, but the saw is older so it was more limited. Never the less he found what he needed. We used the self scan, the cashier seemed to have difficulty with technology as she had to type in my date of birth a few times (yep, you get carded for spray paint), but she was friendly enough. We were in and out in about ten minutes. Good enough for me! read more

I tried to call the Home Depot this evening to find out availability of a product. I must've dialed four times letting it ring multiple times ask for help as for the garden department, ask for customer service it just kept ringing and ringing and nobody seem to care that there was a customer needing some information. I don't know if I'm gonna run up there and see if I can find what I need or just dismiss this whole thing. DO NOT order big appliances from this Home Depot. With that being said, The staff and managers at this Home Depot have been very helpful in trying to resolve my issue which is why I am giving two stars instead of one. Their third party delivery company is why I'm leaving this review and because my issue has yet to be resolved though. In april, we ordered a new washer and dryer. We were completely moving our laundry room to a different part of the house so we had to get all new plumbing, electric, and new floors for this purchase. When we were in the store and originally placed the order, we talked to two different employees to make sure that it was going to be installed for us and they said "yes, you don't have to worry about that". June rolls around and they deliver the washer and dryer and are heading out the door when I stop them and ask if they are going to install the washer and dryer. They refuse to do so and say that it is not their job (after I asked them repeatedly). Then I look on their website and sure enough it says, "with all large appliance deliveries, it will be installed and then tested and inspected to make sure that it works". We have already waited a month and half for this delivery and I was very angry. I call Home Depot and the delivery company and somehow get connected to LG instead and was on the phone on hold for at least 45 minutes. Eventually they apologize and say they can be here in two weeks. Again, even more mad now. My husband goes into the store for 1.5 hours for the employees to be on hold with the company and not being able to figure out a better solution. So we had to wait another two weeks for the company to come out and install it (we can't install it ourselves because then the warranty is not valid). Two weeks later, they do not show up. I call the company and they say that we "rescheduled" with no further info. They called the day before to confirm they were coming and I said that worked out great. The day of the delivery I was home all day and never received a call from them and neither did my husband. So then I called Home Depot and they were on hold with the delivery company for a while and then finally got back to me only to tell me that they said we "rescheduled" but apparently didn't sign up for another date. Again, we never rescheduled, I was home all day waiting. This time I went into the store to cancel the order, get a refund, and schedule for Home Depot to come pick it up because we are done at this point. I was there for an hour. Long story short, LG has a policy that if the appliance is in your home for more than 48 hours, they can't take it back. But we never used it because it never. got. installed. So the manager put in a note to LG to see if they would make this one exception for our situation. It took a couple days to get the news from them, but they agreed to it! Finally we are in the clear.... We unfortunately had to wait another 2 weeks For them to come but whatever, we just wanted it gone. We immediately went to Lowe's and ordered the exact same washer and dryer because we still needed one after all. Home Depot was scheduled to pickup the washer and dryer July 7 and Lowe's would be here July 9th with the new ones! July 6 we get a call to confirm they are coming the next day. Perfect. July 7- nothing. Nobody comes. Nobody calls. I call Home Depot all day to try and figure it out and nobody knows. Then they say they should be here the next day (on the 8th). The 8th comes and nothing. They say they should be there by 7pm. At 7:10 I call the store and ask where the delivery people are and nobody seems to know. I am currently writing this as Lowe's is INSTALLING our washer and dryer with no questions asked. We had to move Home Depot's washer and dryer out of the way ourselves to prepare for Lowe's which caused damage to our wall since we are not professionals. There is still NO sign of when we will get our refund or when the huge object of the EXTRA washer and dryer will be moved from our home. Have rented tools and trucks from here 15+ times. Today I went in to ask a question about pulling a stump. I am not sure if the guy was having a bad day or what but he was short and dismissive with me, and had a belittling attitude because I was ignorant to what the correct use of a mini excavator was... apparently using it to pull stumps is not acceptable. When I asked him what tool I should use to pull the stump he responded "no tools that we carry". When I told him I had rented tools here a lot and he was not being helpful... his response was "ok". On 9/11/2020 I was shopping at this Haggerty Home Depot location. Michigan has a MASK mandate which is required everyone to wear in public. This Home Depot is NOT ENFORCING masks!!! When husbands and wives both are not wearing masks, this is not a breathing issue. This is "Nobody is telling me what to do" The people who CHOOSE not to wear a mask need to do curbside pick up. My mom and I really appreciated All the employees we met in just a 15 minute time span. ERIC at the front door is super up beat and helpful. EMMA and the "YOUNG MAN IN DREADS" were so sweet and helpful! Emma found a perfect product for the ant problem at moms house, a safer for indoors insect product. The young man was so sweet conversing with my mom. And the young lady (dark straight hair) at the checkout register was so kind too. I wish I would've gotten everyone's names but I didn't. Please make sure these folks all know they are fantastic employees and a vital part of the customer experience! Big fan of Home Depot for many of my home improvement needs. Strength of this chain is the people that work at the store who are knowledgeable about the commodities they are over and give you good guidance on the stuff in their departments and give good technical guidance on the project you are working on versus other stores (Lowes) where you are dealing with more of a typical sales person in my opinion. Once thing to note about this store is that it seems to be less crowded than some of the other stores in the area (i.e. Pontiac where I usually shop) And may be tied to the demographics of the area where Pontiac is more blue collar than Commerce which I perceive to be more white collared and less inclined to be do it yourself folks. In any event, I frequent both of these stores on a weekly basis depending on where I am during daily travels and am thankful there are two of these stores in the greater West Bloomfield area. read more

This review is for a specific experience. It is the preferred location between here and the Farmington location. Good luck finding anyone to help answer a question. I know it's a pandemic and people may be out. There are also people "dying" to work as well. When you finally find someone, it's as exciting as finding water in the dessert. Went to self-serve checkout thinking this would be a better option for less contact. Instead of being able to hold package up to glass to scan, you have to use the handheld scanner to manually scan every item. There are no cleaning products to spray or wipe the handle or cloths to clean the scanner and credit card machine. Glad I had hand sanitizers and gloves (THAT NEED TO BE REMOVED AND PROPERLY DISPOSED OF B4 YOU GET IN THE CAR). read more

I just bought a house recently and have been renovating my bathroom. Unfortunately I've had to go back and forth to my local store returning and or exchanging plumbing pieces quite frequently. I work by the one in commerce and had decided I was done for the day so I'd just exchange the plumbing pieces after qork on my way home. I got in the store and had to wait in line (no biggy). I was happy to wait. I get up the the return register and dads this old lady with a lisp(can't remember her name) looks at my bag of returned goods (a job pipe kit for a sink) and slides it back across the desk across ND says all the pieces across ND rent in there and then looks at the guy behind me as if she is done with me. I was shocked and knew I put all the pieces back in the bag. I asked if she could point out the missing piece to me (she was using the diagram on the back of the bag to make this determination) She pointed to the tailpiece on the diagram. For those of you who don't know that is literally attached to my sink and did not come with the kit. I explained this to her...she looked at me as if I was a criminal...like I'd try to keep a useless part that costs 3 dollars. Next I have the card I purchased it on with me which coincidentally has the microchip in it. I try to insert the card into the chip reader to get my refund (like I've done at the livonia home depot EVERY TIME...and she starts yelling about how I can't use the card reader for refunds....I started to explain that I do it Arndt the livonia store all the time and she cuts me off to once again tell me "not for refunds,only purchases". She just keeps saying that until I swipe my card the old school way. The machine instantly tells me to use the chip reader instead of the card swipe portion....Overall a rude and terrible experience because of this woman. I am a customer service manager and would fire an employee like this in and heart beat! read more

My wife and I just moved into a new house and needed to get new windows installed. Our sales rep, David Shevchik gave us a quote and told installation would be in 4-6 weeks. He said normally it would be 2-3 but with Covid things were backed up. We had a quote with Wallside Windows that was a tad bit cheaper but they wouldn't be able to get to us until February at the earliest. We decided to go with Home Depot. this was at the end of September. We were told that there had been a mistake with the order and the windows wouldn't be in until November 25th. i was upset because we are paying on the financing for Windows that have not only haven't been installed, but an installation date hasn't even been set. Our installation manager, Timothy Luch hasn't returned my calls or emails. i have not even heard from him. Then Home Depot calls to set an installation date for JANUARY 27th! i was livid beyond belief. I then called Timothy Luch and again left a message. No call, no nothing from him. If i could give 0 stars I would. So we are stuck still paying monthly on a product and service we have yet to receive. read more

Just opened my Christmas present from my wife. It is a Ryobi Drill and Drive set and I could not be more disappointed. As I unwrapped it I saw that the box was retapped as an obvious return. All I wanted to do was buy a drain snake. I went to the U-Scan, and oops, it scanned twice. "No big deal," I thought. "I'll just cancel the line item." No dice. And hitting the "Assistance" button shortly before asking the person working the podium returned, was fruitless. I would have to wait... and wait... and wait... She had to help the lost guy who wheeled up an AC unit, because... uh... I guess his item was bigger, and bigger means "must help sooner". The desperate housewife who made a beeline from the Exit door to the employee? Oh yes, what can I do for you ma'am? Need someone to walk you to the light bulbs, you say? Well, let me find someone who works with light bulbs. "Hey idiot. Why didn't you go to another U-Scan?" you say? Well, one was broken, one was manned by the dude with the AC unit, and the guy in line behind me was wearing fatigues and in a wheelchair, so I certainly wasn't sticking him with my screwed up machine -- though he managed to get his stuck, too. Don't get me wrong, I've had some pretty marginal experiences at Lowe's, but Lowe's feels like Nordstrom by comparison. read more

My order was missing one cabinet when delivered even though I received no less than three confirmations that my order was shipped and received complete by the Commerce store. How anyone could confirm the order was complete when 1 of 2 cabinets was clearly not there is beyond comprehension. When inquiring about the status, I was given one excuse after another. Be careful if you complain to the Corporate offices, their "Customer Service Associates" will place the blame back on you the customer. My advise is find a reputable dealer for cabinets that truly cares about "Customer Satisfaction". read more

Probably one of the worst customer service experiences was served here at this Home Depot location. My mother and I were in, buying a grill for our patio. Unfortunately they did not have the grill in stock at this location so the representative apparently "called" and spoke with another rep at the 14 mile and Haggerty Home Depot and set the grill we wanted aside. We arrived at the Haggerty Home Depot and went to the customer service desk, where we were suppose to go and spoke with the rep there. Apparently they never received a call concerning my grill and tried selling me the beaten up one off display because they didn't have any in stock either. The representatives were also very disrespectful and helpless. Everyone working there looked lost lol. I understand items get sold, but my time shouldn't have been wasted like this. Serious Inventory Issues. I cound not find or oder what I needed and they don't seem to care. The staff were friendly to each other and to me, like a family. You can invite them to your backyard BBQ but they had no sense of urgency about I shopped there for a purpose and I needed to get things done. 1. Online inventory is not reliable: Happened to me twice. I checked online before I went and it said they have more than ten in the store. Got there and found ZERO on the shelf. Asked for help and the answer was the item just arrived in truck and waited to be unloaded. OK. Then how soon I should come back? Don't know but please try back in a few days. How about the next day? No, better wait for a few days. Same answer twice with different staff in two different visits- it must be in their training manual. And they must have a big truck. 2. Online order can be cancelled in a late notice: They blamed it on the UPS for missing the package. By the way, I have never had UPS missed my package. Half of my order was missing when it reached and scanned by the store. I was mad because I could only get half of the job done in a well planned weekend. But lucky me, at least I still have the other half. No notice or text from the store about the package being ready for pickup. But I went there anyway since onine order status said arriving be this day. They checked into the computer inventory and told me my item was not there. Here is the friendly part. They sent staff to the storage bins to find the item. Eventually, the 2nd shift store manager was on the run to find the item. No, the item was nowhere to be found. And no explanation about why I received an email earlier about half shipment arrived. While I had a heated discussion with the manager, suddenly, the first lady told me nothing in the computer turned around saw a box behind her with my name on it. It was there all along! That was 30 minutes later since I timed my watch. On the package box it said item one of one. Shouldn't it be one of two or two of two if UPS lost one of the two packages. I rather believe Home Depot only shipped one. It all seemed to point to the problem of inventory control. This Home Depot does not know what they have or don't have. This is a critical risk for a business but they run the business as usual. There is no sense of urgency and no sense of ownership. If you shop for something critical to you, you'd better call this store and insist a check on the shelf, not on the computer. If you order something online, you'd better pray hard. Their friendliness will reach a pinch point that you will feel the pain and frustration when you just cannot motivate them to get what you need. read more

I've found the prices at Home Depot (and Lowes) seem high when I compare them to some of the local hardware stores. Things like plumbing supplies are usually cheaper at the small places. But for a big one stop shopping experience for everything from power tools to lawn and garden, electrical and plumbing, lumber, flooring and paint you are probably going to go to either Lowes or here. I think this Home Depot offers better attention and service to customers than the nearby Lowes (located less than a mile north). I also think most prices are lower at this Home Depot than the Lowes store. I have completed many projects on homes in this area and I've shopped at these two stores frequently. I have to give the price AND service advantage to Home Depot. read more

Went to this store to find a hand truck. There was only a display and the website said there were some in store. Looked for an associate to help. While looking around, this worker (old guy), came by so I asked him nicely to help. He gave me an attitude, telling me to hurry up because he doesn't have the time right now. I did not get his name but very RUDE! How are you going to tell a customer to hurry up because you don't have the time and on the phone?! So I told him never mind and If he has no time then I don't need his help and will find another person. He even told me to go to isle 7. IT WAS ALL CARPETS! Nothing to do with hand trucks. Had the strengest experience I have ever had. On Monday 4-8-2019 @ around 6:00 PM I Went to the store to shop for a dishwasher and after about 10 minutes I guy (Paul) showed up. It did not take me long to find out that Paul does not know anything about Dishwashers. Therefore, I asked him to send some one else who can answer my questions. All of the Sudden, he stuck his face to my face in an intimidating manners! So first, I did not get his behavior. Then, I realized that I'm dealing with a sick individual. So, I said "go ahead and hit me". He pushed his face against mine without saying anything. So, I walked away from him as I feared he would act on his sick behavior. Definitely, I was intimidated. I asked for a manager, as Paul walked away to hide somewhere in the store. A manager with the name of Michelle showed up to make the situation worse and kept saying in a disrespectful manner " I can't do anything but apologize". I figured that I am dealing with another person who lacks the training and experience. So, I walked away saying to myself, I would never shop at Home Depot no more as I would fear for my safety and the safety of others. read more

My husband and I needed a grill. Like most stores in Michigan, there is one weekend when grills sell rapidly, and that is the weekend before July 4th. In the Commerce Store, we had trouble getting help in locating the grill we had seen online. If they were busy, that would be understandable, but there wasn't much going on. We just weren't important, as we could see. I finally sat down at the computer, looked up the grill I wanted, verified that there were 7 in this store and asked for help. I got sarcasm and frustration from the first young lady of the 5 or so standing around. She did take off to find the grill, but had to be comforted by another customer for the offense of asking her for help. If this was the end of the story, there would be no stars at all! Fortunately, after about 10 more minutes, we found the grill ourselves, and a helpful fellow, named GREGG we think, stepped up, looked up the SKU, and he helped the clueless customer service folks to ring us up. Customer service scolded me for not knowing their "special lingo" for propane tanks, but GREGG stuck with us, helped to load the grill. As we finished cinching it on, we saw more useless Home Depot employees in the parking lot screeching "it's going to fall". Moral of the story - Ask for Gregg, a tall, big, handsome African American fellow. FIVE STARS for GREGG! Hope Home Depot wakes up and downsizes the incompetent and rude employees, but keeps more willing and helpful folks.
