I was trying to return some of the UNUSED hardiplank today, and was told by Beverly the assistant manager they would not take it. If I could rate this a negative 5, I would. We were looked no for a better bargain on finishing nails. Home Depot only sells a what I needed in bulk. When I asked if they had fewer and said Lowes does, the clerk rudely told me to go out on over to Lowes then. Wow, Never again will I patron this chain!!! Update! I don't know why they don't give an option to put zero stars. This place sucks terribly. They tell you to call when you go into get a problem solved but then they never answer. You simply get put in a voicemail hell. Add to the frustration, listen to the hold music. They have it turned up so loud that it's completely distorted and the most aggravating thing ever. The plumbing section, PVC parts is always disorganized & poorly stocked. Today, I politely asked the plumbing employee to get me down a box of fittings once he was done with the customer he walked by with. He irritatedly & rudely told me to wait till he was done with his customer. I told him that was exactly what I said! We went to this Home Depot last night to purchase a sink. My wife saw a sink she wanted to see but it was at the very top of the display (about 6 feet above her) so she asked me to get one off the shelf and open it for her to look at the depth. The employee working this department was standing there and sarcastically said "there is one right there on the display". We explained to him that she needed to actually see how deep it was at which point he sighed, rolled his eyes and said " I will go get you a ladder". He then went to the next isle to get a ladder. My wife did not really want to stand on a 6 foot ladder (we always hear employees telling people to get OFF the ladders?!) to gauge the depth of the sink hanging on the wall so she told him that if she could not see the sink in the box we would go elsewhere for a sink. He replied "have a nice day" So we went to Lowes to purchase a sink and that is where we will be doing business now. This same employee had a lady walk over (while he was "assisting" us) and ask if someone worked the door department. He looked at her and said "yep".....offered no help getting said person. She finally asked if she should just stand around and wait for the door person to come around. He sighed and said he would call someone. read more

Don't apply for their credit card. After spending over $15,000.00 in approximately 6 years with them and never late once and always paying off big purchases before they were due. They called me and said I was 6 days past due on my monthly payment and I said, I'm sorry I didn't know. I thought I paid it, I told them I'd take care of it immediately since I was on the phone with them. In which my total balance was only $360.00 and my minimum payment was only $29.00. I said just let me pay $100.00 and I'm sorry for missing my payment and thank you for calling me and letting me know. One & 1/2 weeks later got a letter from Home depot and stated my $5k credit line was IMMEDIATELY reduced to ONLY $500.00. Again, never late up till this one time and this happens to me??? WTF??? I'LL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR IN A HOME DEPOT AGAIN. I'VE CLOSED MY ACCOUNT & JUST OPENED A LOWES CREDIT ACCOUNT FOR $20K Commercial account. What's with all 1 star ratings? Get a grip people. I've shopped at HD and Lowes all over this area and Houston. This one delivers exactly what HD is all about. Quality products at low prices. The lowest priced product is not always the best choice for quality, but you do get what you pay for. If the quality is poor they have a no hassle return process. Shelves are stocked, the store is clean, the aisles are wide. Staff are few but knowledgeable and helpful. Remember, this is HD, not Nordstrom. Their handheld devices tell you exactly where to find every item. I've been escorted to what I'm looking for on multiple occasions. A smile and a genuine " Can you help me" and "Thank you" go a long way. If that doesn't work you may want to consider anger management therapy. read more

When I told them they were boxes of them in an end cap marked clearance, I got told sorry that's all I know. I truly thought great customer service was dead. The store manager Robert proved to me it's not. I had purchased an outdoor dining set that was on sale last month. The store assembled it for free. Now to get it home, wish I had kept that truck. I rented the van there and took home my new purchase only to find the table dented and the paint scraped down to the metal . I was prepared to return it. I went in the store with pictures and showed Robert. He apologized and checked to see if they had more. He then told me he would have a new table assembled and bring it to my house and pick up the defective one. This was more than I expected and he was true to his word , I have a beautiful patio table on my deck now. Thank you Robert. You now have a customer for life. read more

Contacted Conroe Home Depot May 29, 2017 about a specific grill they stated was in stock and assembled. Upon arrival the grill was damaged so they offered to assemble one of 8 in stock to be picked-up May 30th. I was contacted May 30th the grill was complete and ready for pick-up. Before it was loaded I noticed damage, missing parts and the assembly was incorrect. The manager offered a discount. My suggestion as opposed to me making a 3rd trip for the same product was to deliver a new, assembled correctly and with all the pieces grill to my home 20 minutes away. Home Depot declined. Unfortunately bad experiences are often shared repeatedly with family, friends and colleagues. And we shop elsewhere. read more

Most of the time I have good experiences in this store with very helpful people. However this last time I went in I had extremely terrible customer service from Pablo. I went in late looking for that "one last item" and had to yell across the store at this bald guy to get his attention (which is very unusual) so he finally turns around and I am walking quickly towards him trying to ask for his help and he RUDELY tries to avoid me by walking off! Then when I confront him he WON'T help me! He starts acting all cocky like he is above this task all sighing at me like I am creating a problem for him! He wasn't even busy doing anything! Instead of answering my question of "where is" he pulls out a phone and calls for someone to help me then keeps trying to walk away again. Finally after I keep asking him questions he states "someone will be with you" But he is with me & won't help me the whole time still acting like I am a problem for him. Course now I am getting mad, so I let him walk off. The "person he called to help" never arrived. So I go to the Customer Service Desk and ask the girl there to call a Manager cause I want to tell him of the terrible & s***y (** so review will post) attitude Pablo has. This non-helpful worker named Pablo. Well guess who comes walking up to answer the page... yep Pablo. At this point I ask him again to direct me to find my item and Pablo acts like this is the first time we have ever spoke. In his delaying, the girl at the service desk pointed me in the direction to find my "last item" I still cant believe that a person with such a negative attitude like Pablo is in a leadership/management position. This must be why Home Depot lost so many customers to Lowe's. And they just lost another along with my friends. Who doesn't like The Home Depot?! But Everytime I go here, it seems like nobody knows anything about their own department, much less anyone else's department. It is very frustrating to wander aimlessly while trying to find something and have staff ignore you or not know anything. We were looking for a diamond jigsaw blade for down the work....the guy in tile told us to go to the drill bit and blade section to get expert help on blades from the blade guy....he didn't even know what he had and where. My wife and I finally returned to the tile section and found the stuff ourselves, right where the first guy had tried to help us and couldn't find anything. Will probably only go back there for the Royobi +1cordless tools and accessories. Otherwise, I think it will be Lowe's and the kobalt brand from now on. read more

We popped in to purchase a dryer. A lady employee Myra came over to help us. At first the employee was really sweet, however when I asked to speak with a manager the employee's demeanor changed almost immediately. She became agitated and showed her frustration with me by rolling her eyes, sighing loudly and showed attitude within her voice. At this point I was about to leave but came across another employee. I had pulled that employee a side and at first hesitated to even explain what had happened. That employee had expressed that I should tell him because he was the manager. So I began to explain to the manager what I had experienced with the rude employee. As I was speaking to the manager the frustrated employee came over. I asked that she walked away so I could finish explaining to the manager what I had experienced. She sighed as she walked away and called me a bi*** under her breath loud enough so that my husband heard her as she passed him. Mind you we are still speaking with the manager. The manager Ken apologized and said that behavior would not be tolerated. I am rating them a 4 star because I don't think the store should suffer because they have 1 bad star within the team. We were able to have Bob another employee finish out our sale and he was super nice and helpful. Even though I experienced this today I still recommend this store. read more

Home Depot in Conroe Texas Our hot water heater went out . After one day of heating hot water on the stove , we quit pricing hot water heaters at stores and checking reviews on the internet !!! We purchased a Rheems Hot water heater at Home Depot for $618 as they had a sign by the display that said if you purchased before noon , you could get installation the same day . It had a 12 year warranty on the tank and had a good review so we purchased it .When we purchased before noon , I asked them how much the installation would cost ? They said that they just provided leads to licensed plumbers and had no idea what the cost would be . However when the job was done and we wrote a check to the plumber for $1050.00 , I asked him who to make the Check out to, and he told me to make it out to Home Depot and that Home Depot would pay them . So Home Depot must have had some idea of what the charges would be!!! There must have gotten a substantial " finders fee" . Our plumber Freddie from ARS Rescue Rooter, who their customer service says is the largest plumbing company in the nation, asked us if our residence was in the city of Conroe Texas? My wife and I replied that it was . Freddie then explained that the city of Conroe charged a fee of $225.00 for this permit. My wife and I thought this was awful high, but at this point we're tired of cold water showers . We are both senior citizens and vulnerable as to what the going price for these charges should be !! We paid the Labor fee to Home Depot through Freddie the agent for ARS . The work was done on Monday 2/13/17 . The next day we went to the Conroe City Hall to the permit office to find out when the inspector was coming out to inspect the job . We found that they were unaware of this job even being done because no permit had been obtained for the work and that the actual cost of the permit was only $31.00 !!!! The city of Conroe Senior Building Inspector along with a colleague came out and took photos of the work done and gave us a copy of the Inspection Violation Notice that they were giving ARS along with a $500 fine for not obtaining a permit . He also gave us the forms to fill out to the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners to file a complaint , which we sent out in the mail today . Both of these companies Home Depot and ARS Rescue Rooter are big companies with deep pockets and a crew of lawyers to fight litigation for them , so my issue with them will be swept under the table !!! I'm posting this message on 14 different web sites so all seniors can be aware of these dubious business practices !!!! My wife and I went to Conroe Home Depot today 2/15/17 and spoke with Laurie an Assistant Manager who spent her lunch hour trying to resolve the problem with ARS on the phone . We are still waiting to see what will come of this . Laurie followed it up with a phone call before she left Home Depot at the end of her shift . Kudos to Laurie as she's the kind of person we would all like to deal with !!! read more

Home Depot had all of the equipment I needed to improve my home. The staff was very helpful, and directed me where I needed to go.

I was purchasing one plywood to use on cabinet re-facing so I was assigned "Bobby" to cut for me. The edges were very uneven and frayed and some were off by .25"! I won't even be able to use those pieces!! He actually had to ask me if .50 meant half an inch! Come on, really?!? I had some plywood left over so I asked him to cut some drawer facing measurements for me and he then proceeds to tell me it would be 25 cents a cut. I have never had any Home Depot charge me to cut any wood I bought from them. I also wanted some molding cut. He said he didn't want to attempt it and that he didn't have the time (there were two other customer waiting for one piece of plywood each to be cut in half). Please hire someone with knowledge of measurements and how to cut wood if they are going to work in the lumber department and who can help customers. Needless to say, I will never be purchasing anything from this Home Depot again. I would rather drive 20 miles to another location or start using Loews. read more
