I would like to take a moment to recognize a true gem at the Home Depot store on Ontario Avenue. I needed to rent a truck unexpectedly because some of the items I purchased would not fit in my own vehicle. Since I had not made an advance reservation, the Pro Desk suggested that I check with the Tool Rental department. As soon as I arrived, I was warmly greeted by a gentleman named Allen. He asked a few routine questions, including whether I had reserved a truck in advance, and then personally took the time to walk all the way to the parking lot to check the availability. He returned with a smile and happily informed me that there was a flatbed truck available. Since I had never rented a truck from this location before, he politely requested my ID and completed the verification process, which I completely understood and appreciated. He also humbly asked whether I had anything to secure the load. When I told him I did not, he kindly showed me where I could purchase tie-down straps. Throughout our conversation, Allen explained everything clearly, including the rental rates, timing, and insurance options. He was courteous, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely humble. Within just a few minutes, he completed the paperwork, inspected the truck with me, thoroughly explained the rental process, and handed me the keys. I have rented vehicles from many places over the years, but I have rarely encountered someone with the professionalism and outstanding customer service that Allen demonstrated. His positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Home Depot should be proud to have an employee like Allen. His leadership qualities, knowledge, and dedication to helping customers truly stand out. Please pass along my sincere appreciation to his manager. Christmas Tree Lot Review: Went here to get a Christmas tree and we were in luck because the truck was just there and delivered 700 trees. We were helped by Zach and he was the absolute best. He opened a bunch of trees for us to look at and once we finally decided on one, he cut and wrapped it for us. He also recommended a better base because we got a large tree and he wanted to make sure it wouldn't tip over so that was a great catch. We bought a tree and a stand and we couldn't be happier! Do not trust the color matche paint machine at this Home Depot. Staff was friendly enough but I've spent hundreds on paint now for my drywall and stucco to color match and paint repair spots from a pipe reroute. I had to go back twice for the drywall paint as the first time I was given more of a gray instead of a beige. The 2nd time the color was closer but still not the same. (See pics) For the stucco I was sold first a color that looked nothing like the exterior paint and when I took it back they said they must've scanned the wrong side of the stucco (unpainted side) so they swapped it. The paint I put on the stucco is more of an orange than a tan so it now looks patchy with the wrong color. Disappointing. read more

Today I had the wonderful experience of shopping at this home depot! Annnnd..... in 91 degree heat! I went in to the Garden center to purchase mulch. Not being able to decide the best choice I ran into Adam. Not only was he personable, but very professional as well. He was eager to help by showing me two different mulches.... explaining color varieties, price difference as well. I was very impressed! In closing, he loaded my mulch (many bags) onto a flat cart, pushed to my car and unloaded in my trunk! Amazing! In every way, on every level! Thanks Adam...it was a pleasure to shop with you today! The young women working at the front of the store when you go to check out are either busy talking to each other and ignoring the customers, or, if their supervisor is present, trying to rush you out the door. I actually had items physically taken out of my hands and scanned, then ordered to use my card to pay. I needed to input my Pro ID and Military ID, was asked for neither. She ran off to do something else so I backed out of the payment section and entered the info myself, as I have done numerous times at self checkout. As is typical when you are having work done, my contractor called before I left asking me to get one more item. When I went back, the supervisor was standing there and I mentioned the previous incident, told her she may want to tell these newer employees to slow down, ask for military and pro ID. She didn't say anything. I was directed to the next open stand, a regular cashier who can take cash, but I didn't know that at the time. I asked the employee to please give me time to enter my pro and military ID. When I told her she entered the last two numbers incorrectly, I was told I was being disrespectful, and she walked away to get the supervisor! Seriously?!!! These staff have ZERO customer service skills. I will never allow these jackasses to check out my purchases ever again. And if I can buy anything online, I will. read more

She was not considerate, helpful or even concerned with the fact the company she manages installed a washer that is now ruining my house. Flooded my living room, ruined my lights, and stained my living room ceiling. Hopefully no mold and additional damage comes from this. It's a true indication that now the norm of companies, higher, warm bodies, not knowledgeable don't know much, but they surely take a stance in showing they can stand, wear their orange vest, and say that they're an employee. Going in the self check out line Have a 10 foot piece of baseboard, they scanned the board for the barcode on the back I have my tape measure out tell him it's 10 feet and he says oh we have to measure it on our tape measure that stands upright. Really? Prior to that I'm looking for a soda. That's not in the container refrigerator and move my cart to a place where I have to play hide and seek to find it! Really? Incompetence, negligence, poor management, training, or a combination thereof? I placed a curbside order on November 1, 2024. I could not pick up the order HD confirmed the blocks' pickup via email. I contacted the store four times about the blocks I didn't receive despite being charged. Needing more help, I visited the store, but no manager was available I contacted corporate support on two separate occasions. Home Depot has not yet made a good-faith effort to correct its negligence. The Home Depot has debited my account but has yet to issue a refund for the blocks I have not received. Details: I placed a curbside pickup order of 110+ concrete bricks ($232.07) online on November 1st, 2024, for pick up by November, 8, 2024. I received email correspondence from HD confirming the order's pickup. When my contractor arrived to complete the masonry work, we realized neither of us had collected the order. I contacted HD customer service on November 24th to report the problem. I requested to speak with a manager; however, none were available. The associate explained that loss prevention would review security footage, and a store manager would subsequently contact me to discuss a resolution. crickets On November 29, I entered the store, reiterated my account of the incident, and requested to speak with the manager. The manager remained unavailable; however, a lead appended a note to the file and confirmed that loss prevention would contact me within 24 hours. crickets On December 4th, I contacted HD for an update. The associate informed me that loss prevention would be in contact the following either that evening or by morning. crickets On Friday, December 6th, I contacted corporate headquarters to seek help with my problem. Jose responded to my telephone call. Following my explanation, Mr. Jose placed my call on hold before transferring it to the Home Depot branch associated with my issue. WOW, and this is corporate help? After a reiteration of the same story to the associate Jose connected me to, I received confirmation that the store manager would respond the following day. crickets I followed up with corporate on Monday, December 9th, continuing my inquiry. Tyren? said he would move the case forward, reach out to the store manager, and that the Corona store had 72 hours to reply. The issue remains unresolved after over 80 hours. This is unacceptable; it's disappointing, stressful, time-consuming and should have been addressed by now. This reflects poorly on Home Depot's business practices. read more

Update!!!!! They picked up the trash from my driveway Monday afternoon at 1:30pm so if you count the first day which was Thursday with the one worker (that's all they sent) started the job til Monday that's five days for what we thought was 1 day installation and they said 2 days. After three days of installation when they said it would only take one I'm not really happy to report that the trash is still on my driveway and no one has contacted us to let us know when they are getting it. Also the one worker that worked on it installed the baseboards with staples!!! That's right not long thin nails but short wide staples. I added the pics below... NEVER EVER EVER GET YOUR carpet installation from this place. They contract out through Romanoff renovations, which is the most unprofessional unreliable installers of carpet ever. I appreciate all the work that the expediters at Home Depot have been trying to do, but the constant failure upon the contract that we agreed upon for one day installation baseboards to be in stocked, have not come through. I am severely disappointed in them that I promise. I will let everyone know what a bad experience we are having with them. We were supposed to get our carpet installed in one day on a Monday and it is Thursday. They still haven't started installation and they said they're definitely gonna need to do it tomorrow and possibly Saturday morning. But they took my money with no problem in one day. read more

If you are are a person of color, beware of racial profiling and discrimination from the store manager Tirazah and CS Brian. My husband is a local business that frequent at many Home Depot for work as a Pro Customer and today was the first time he had experience such discrimination and disrespect. On 12/19/2025 at 5:30 pm he went to this Home Depot to make a return on some materials that were not needed for the job. He purchased these material where they forgot to give him his receipt so he had to go to customer service to get a print out. Brian refused the print out receipt stating that it was fake and that he was attempting to return stolen goods. He requested to look up the items on his pro account via his phone number but was refused. He asked to speak to a store manager and Tirazah, the store manager blatantly refused and ignored him and went to attend other customers. After waiting a while, she FINALLY decided to do her job and looked up the receipt via his phone number..Guess what?!? She was able to find records of the purchase. She half heartily apologized. As he was making another purchase, other associates that witnessed the ordeal stated that this manager has at least one incident of racism and discrimination a day. The worst part is that when he came home, he realized that they didn't give him his receipt again! Also, do not place orders with this store because they will get your order wrong!! Worst experience. Made a key and the key is jammed in the lock. The manager, Gloria was not helpful. She offered me a new key if I brought the key back. Laughable. Let's start with, this is a Home Depot. It's mostly a place for visitors looking for something for their home, be that for DIY projects, plumbing, restoration, appliances...you name it. Customer service only really counts when you've got a question or looking for something specific, and when you're at the registers to check-out. So, it's a pretty straightforward place for your home needs. As for this location. I've been here maybe a handful of times, and have done pick-ups for online orders and those were a breeze. The store itself also has a good stock of products, from big, small, to ginormous items (need lumber, anyone?). A recent walkthrough of this store, I saw staff everywhere, from the paint sections to all the other aisles. They're just helping customers, or stocking items. They don't bother you unless you wanna bother them! So if you just wanna browse around here, or maybe even get in your daily steps (it's a huge place so you definitey can!), you won't get any person asking you questions. On my last visit, I was also looking to see if they had any recycling programs for packaging materials, but they unfortunately do not. They do, however, have the standard recyling bins out front for used batteries, shopping bags, and and light bulbs. Good to know! I do hope someday they'll include packaging material recycling, since many of us purchase things from online...and we have tons of shipping materials. Anyway, a little sad about that, but, the staff that helped and spoke with me were super friendly and gave me the info I needed. In all, an expected Home Depot, no fuss and you'll likely find what you need here. Parking is pretty good here, too, just watch out for the big trailers and trucks, as they can take up 2-3 spots sometimes. read more

They could do better knowledge wise, although overall it's a standard these days that employees are not that knowledgable around the stores. I had my keys made a few times, as I needed several copies, and the person doing my keys was nice and swift. Overall I prefer smaller stores with more value and better information. Selection at Home Depot is huge but overall some things that you find here may not exactly be available in another location, so be diligent. Pricing is fair, about what you would have at competition like Lowe's. read more

What is up with the disorganization at the check out area(s)? Today I got accused of trying to dodge the "regular" line because I accidentally stood in a line that turned out to be for phone orders. The mouthy and rude young cashier made sure that I understood that so I "won't do it next time". Right now there is the main area which consists of several rows of registers. Some are for cash or cards and a few are card only. How do I know? Only because I've been here before. Depending on the day you have a couple to several cashiers milling around who seem as lost as us customers. There are no clear lines to stand in so people just gather around the area waiting for something to open up. It becomes a real comedy show on busy weekend days. How hard is it to CLEARLY DELINEATE which registers are for what and put up a chain or some kind of tape so people know where to wait their turn? If you have an area specifically for phone orders SAY SO! Maybe a sign that says, oh I dunno, "PHONE ORDERS ONLY"? It ain't rocket surgery folks, take the reigns and help herd us sheep so we can get out the door and get on with our tasks without pulling our hair out! read more

If there was negative stars I would give this location a negative. I went inside to get a quart of paint. That was all good. I also wanted to know if they would donate some smaller paint buckets for a Title 1 school. I am a STEM teacher and getting some of those buckets will enhance the learning of my first graders. We do a unit on Drums and the students practice playing some drumbeats in a drum circle. These students come from a very underprivileged background and this would just engage and excite them more. I asked for a manager "Anthony". He came and said "we don't usually give donations like that but every quarter we get $10 vouchers to help". Fair enough, but I went ahead and researched. To find out that many Home Depots do help schools out. Just recently the buckets were donated to a school somewhere in another state. Also my coworker in Fontana also got buckets for her school site easily. They happily gave them. So I went back and asked again nicely, Anthony showed up and then made me feel bad that I was asking. He mentioned there are many other places like "kid that have autism, disabled places" etc that also need it. I also teach one SDC class with many students with disability that would enjoy the drum circle too. That is the reason why I am would want to give a negative because of this manager Anthony. That was not professional making an educator feel bad for asking and comparing it to others. I left there in tears feeling so bad. There was another home depot employee lady that was nice and you can confirm with her. If you have managers then you also need to have PROFESSIONAL managers that know how to address these sensitive situations and not throw and compare kids who have a disabilities. Do not do curbside pick up. I just waited 45 mins for my order. No reason just didn't notice. I had to call corporate to get ahold of someone inside because I was on hold with the store for 22 mins. They picked up didn't say hello and just put me on hold. It was the same man who brought my order to me last time asking for help because he hurt his back. Now I know why some Home Depot's are rated better than others. Today I came in to find replacement parts for a shower faucet. After finding no one around in the plumbing isle I went to the customer service desk only to be greeted by 1 of 6 customer service agents standing around doing nothing and as i asked for assistance I was told in a very rude tone and manner to go down isle such and such to find the plumbing rep. Wow you'd think the free time no customers waiting customer service desk would at least be friendly and escort me or at least call someone for me Instead I was forced to lol for help. We wanted to buy the 12 foot tall Halloween skeleton at our local Alhambra store but it was sold out. The only store which had it in stock was this one so we bought it online. Usually the stores will deliver any product to your local store for pick up but not with this special holiday item. When we arrived around 7pm we went to will call and waited and waited for the big box to be brought to us. The employees were courteous and polite even though I was getting a bit upset because of the wait time, but everything came out right. I brought a Frigidaire refrigerator from Home Depot with a three year warranty three (3) years ago and it died. I purchased a three(3) warranty but come to find out the warranty is only good for two years the include the one year manufacturers warranty, so you're paying for three and only getting two. Also, they were suppose to automatically send you a gift car for $30 if you don't file a claim and it would be sent to you and you did have to do anything. Well the refrigerator was a lemon sand I paid like it just a temporary purchase. The compressor went totally out. I had to pay someone to come out. I contacted the protection and the manufacturer and again no luck. I m filling bbb complaint and every complaint I can file. I would never purchase any appliances from Home Depot again and I have spent a lot of money with them and yes it is time to move on. I've purchased appliances from Best Buy and ha e never had any of there appliances last for o my three years. I am steaming mad and I will not let this go, I spend $800 on a refrigerator that last only three years, never in my life and I require some compensation because I had to purchase another one. I'm only giving it a 5 star review for the customer service I received from one of its sales associate, Rick. I came in the store needing a key made. I asked the first associate where I can get a key made and was directed to a self service kiosk, which is not what I wanted. I asked another sales associate if the still provided key service other than the self service one. I was directed to an incorrect aisle. That's ok, not everyone will remember. When I found the key service, 3 aisles over, no one was there. As I'm standing around looking for help, Rick came to me and said he'll get an associate to help me. No one came. Rick happened to walk by again and asked if anyone came. I told him know. He asked to wait just a minute and he will help me. He was back in less than a minute. He made my key and apologized for waiting so long. That simple gesture resonated a lot with me simply because he could've just paged another sales associate or lie to me and say someone will be by shortly, a line I often received in any home Depot store I've been. He was very pleasant and had me on my way. In total, I waited longer to get my key made than the actual process of getting it done. It could've been an unpleasant experience, but thanks to Rick, it didn't have to be. As for the other sales associates chit chatting with their peers clearly seeing customers needing help, I don't think the company is paying your salary to socialize during work hours. I sure hope your customer service improves or at least get lessons from Rick. read more
