We have a stand alone Kitchen Aid Ice maker that is 3 years old, it stopped making ice. A service tech came out and checked it said it's the coil system and for us to call the manufacturer and charged me $129 for him to come out but said if we want them to do the repair it will be deducted from repair cost. We called for repair cost 5 times and they kept saying we will need to ask the tech every time we called it was like ground hog day over a month and the guy (Pat) kept saying he didn't remember my previous calls. I really thought very long and hard before I left this review. I've been using Hartshorns for many, many,many years and I've always had great service, so keep that in mind while you're reading this. I contacted them regarding a dishwasher that was having a drain code and a stove that the pilot light was too low, the technician came out turned on the stove and with a turn of a screw and less than two seconds he adjusted the height of the pilot. Then he went to the dishwasher set it for nine minutes waited,it did not do the error code that it had been doing prior, with that being said, he told me (and actually he showed me) to have my husband go under the sink remove the drain put it in a bucket run a short load to see if there's anything clogging it. With that I was charged $220 and I was told by the technician to fix it myself If the problem persisted, now I understand that I'm paying for his time and his knowledge however, $220 to turn a screw and tell me to have my husband fix it himself, seemed to be a big pile of BS. I contacted the management the following day. I Let them know that I was very disappointed over what had transpired she was very apologetic, but did not offer to take anything off of the bill or to reimburse me anything. All she could say is that she would send the technician back out, at this point I wasn't interested in having come back out, my husband ended up fixing himself like the technician had recommended. very disappointed that I was charged $220 for nine minutes and two seconds of his time and didn't have anything resolved other than the fact that my pilot light was turned up a tad. I've been very loyal to them over the years, I've recommended them left and right, but after this last interaction, it left such a sour taste in my mouth that I won't be recommending them any longer. read more

We used Hartshorn to fix our upright freezer in the garage. The person that came out was really nice, forgot his name but he seemed to be in his 60s. He fixed our freezer (the temperature wasn't stable) and it ran for another year. Our freezer is about 17 years old. Unfortunately, after the 1 year it was doing the same thing, they came out again and fixed it but this time it only lasted for a few months. We did have to get a new freezer and they were really helpful in trying to get a new freezer us. Unfortunately because of the pandemic, there were no freezers available anywhere for delivery until 3-4 months. But they had a few that I could have purchased. I recently had my washing machine go out. I called Hartshorne to come to my home and service my washing machine. They came out, but sadly my washer was beyond repair so the repairman referred me to go to Hartshorn's to look into getting a new washing machine. My husband and I went to a Hartshorn's and was greeted by a lovely lady named Kathy. She showed us all of the options and worked with us until we found what we were looking for. We ended up getting both the washer and dryer and the pedestals to match. She showed us how to use it. She couldn't praise the set that we got any higher. She said she also owned the same set. She was so warm and welcoming and really knew her products. We asked her if our new washer and dryer could be delivered next day, and she said absolutely. She called her delivery person Sal, and he was available to do the delivery the following day. When Sal and his son arrived, they were nothing but professional from removing our old washer and dryer to installing the new washer and dryer. Both Sal and his son were so polite and accommodating. I could not recommend Hartshorn's anymore highly than I do today. They were awesome. read more

I have used Hartshorn several times over the years without any issues. I was disappointed with the most recent encounter with them. The folks who answer the phone are very nice. Here is my issue. Our 15 year old refrigerator stopped working. A tech came out, diagnosed the problem and said he would return at the end of the week to replace the part. After several phone calls we were told they were unable to order the part. That sounded reasonable, after all the refrigerator is 15 years old. While researching new refrigerators I quickly found out there was a 13 week delay in getting a frig within our price range. After a few days of research, we found the part we needed, drove to Fontana to purchase it and my husband installed it himself. I don't know the reason Hartshorn couldn't order the part, in fact the company we purchased the part from does business with Hartshorn. Anyway, we certainly learned more about the appliance parts business than we needed to know. read more

Within a hour the refrigerator error coded again, I called and spoke with the office, explained the refrigerator is broke again with the same error code. They seemed to be a great place to go to fir TV repairs, but the $90.00 non refundable deposit was a bit much. If their technician deems the repairs for your tv to be too expensive or it can't be fixed. They keep the $90.00. I think that's expensive $50.00 at the most would be more reasonable in my opinion. You already just lost the use of your tv & to lose another $90.00 just to be told they won't or can't fix it is rip off. read more

I called short notice and was able to be scheduled for a Saturday appointment. Phil was the repair technician and he was great! He replaced the igniter in my oven and will come back to install a new water pump for my washer. He was friendly and professional. I'm so glad I called!! I wanted to add to my review- Phil came back and installed the water pump and my washer seemed to be fixed. First load of towels washed and nothing had changed. New water pump and the same issues were apparent.I was disappointed and called Hartshorn the next day. Even though it was Phil's day off he came back determined to figure out what was wrong and fix it. Over 2 hours later, he managed to fix it. I really appreciate Phil taking time on his day off to help me. The only downside, was the level of frustration I could hear coming from my laundry room. The banging things around and shouting at my washer made me a little more than uncomfortable in my own home. Especially since I was home with only my daughter, who was asleep in her room. I took my $300 pressure oven to this place because of good feedback on Yelp. I was having issues with power, sometimes I would turn it on and no power, switched plugs..still nothing. Seemed everytime I needed to use it, it wouldn't work. Took it in to the repair shop. Oct 13, they said 7 to 10 days. On day 10..still no call.. I called them, they said they can't get it to NOT work, and was going to test 1 more time on Monday.. this was a Friday. Monday comes and goes, it's now Saturday and still no call. I didn't even bother calling, just went there and took my oven back. Paper work shows that they only tested it 2x in 16 days being there. Had to put a $40 deposit to have them look at it. Then when I go to pick it up, they tried to charge me another $30, telling me the minimum repair was $70. I said no, I'm not giving you anymore money. You didn't do anything to it and it probably just sat in the back and never got touched. If I could give no stars, I would. WORTHLESS money spent!!! I'll make sure to spread the word read more

I made an appointment to come out and repair my dryer. I paid a hundred thirty -five dollars for 10 minutes of labor just for using Harthorn. And $20 for the part. After the service, I looked at the package of the part he replaced and it was only $20. So I decided to call and just ask a few simple questions regarding the charges so I can better understand what I was billed for. When I called Teresa (receptionist) was completely rude and sarcastic about my questions, acting as if I was bothering her. Saying "well your dryer is working now right?" And " you take your car into a shop to get repaired, dont you pay for labor?" Umm excuse me but that is not how you should treat a paying customer. What terrible customer service.... Teresa should be fired from Hartshorn. If I have been a repeat customer for a few years why would she treat customers in that manner. I did not come off rude when I called in. I do want to add that the technician that came out was very professional and great. Not saying they are bad, but beware of Teresa being rude if you call in with any questions.... read more

I paid $75 a few weeks ago for a technician to come out and repair my dryer hose, which came unattached from the wall. I told the tech that if I needed a new hose that was fine, he said I didn't and that he would reattach it. As I approached my laundry room this afternoon I noticed a good amount of light coming in. Upon further inspection I saw that the hose WAS NOT attached, which is odd because no one in my home touched or moved the dryer. I also found a nest of dried leaves behind the dryer, which means something has been inside in my home via the hose wall. I have not written a bad review before, but I'm doing this for my mom. She has no energy to want to fight for it, but I do so I'm going to do this for her. She had a tech come to our house for no longer than 10 minutes to diagnose a problem with the stove. They charged her $80 for the visit. This seems a bit much, considering they were in the house for that long. After a month, the company told her she needed to buy a $80 part. She bought the part. Apparently, it was the wrong one. She went in there to let them know, but they said all they can do is either give her the $80 back for the part, or she can pay another $30 for a different part.. She ended up taking the same part they expected her to buy from a different stove and the problem she had still occurred. They would not diagnose the correct issue and just expected her to continue paying more. I would appreciate it if this company would refund her for the time wasted and not just refund her for the part. An $80 visit plus another $80 for the wrong part could have been completely avoided.
