Store credit card didn't work so I started to walk to customer service before I was stopped and accused of STEALING by two employees because my payment declined? There were only two items in my cart, not to mention the exit right in front of where I tried to check out. if I were stealing wouldn't it make more sense to walk out the closer exit not to a further away exit thats in the direction of customer service? Our washing machine broke and we needed to purchase a new one. We shop at home depot a lot, so seemed like a sure bet it would all work out. They outsource their delivery service. The delivery crew left us with an unleveled and wobbly machine, they failed to level it and even check for a wobble before they left. The water hook up was leaking all over the floor after they left. They broke the connection to our dryer's steam function as well. I now understand why people shop locally at mom&pop stores - you can actually get someone on the phone, for starters! We eventually reached the delivery team and they say they cant come out to fix it for 1-2 weeks due to scheduling. Will never purchase an appliance from home depot in the future, just to avoid this mess. read more

Previously I have had 3 other Anderson storm doors installed this time I was warned there was a new installer but since other 3 times were all different installers and were always ok , I proceeded with installer. I had an Andersen full view Storm door installed (over $700.00 for door and installation). They had previewed the job to be prepared with any trim of finish boards and said they required nothing. The installation was an absolute hack job. Old latch torn off left marred and then primed the gouge. Frame was leveled to fit doorway and then space left from leveling was filled in with hunks of weather stripping, all twisted to fill space. Old door latch was just left on frame. First time installer only instalIed one closer and we needed second closer so door would latch closed. Second and third time we had agree to a routed out spot he hacked it out with a chisel and left nasty, unfinished appearance. The installer came to property 3 times, all 3 times not when he said he would be there. He had my phone number to call me but he didn't. Home Depot customer service in Atlanta said job is finished as see in picture it is up to their quality. I have pictures I wish I could include. Just throwing this out there to hopefully save someone from making the same mistakes we did. We are remodeling a home and have had a very poor experience with this Home Depot. While the workers for the most part are kind and courteous, they are really only helpful in pointing out where to find things in the store and making a few simple suggestions for home improvement stuff. If you need bigger things like carpet installation or cabinets, save yourself a headache, pay a few extra dollars and just go to a local or small business. The whole renovation process has been 10x more stressful than it should be because of Home Depot's inability to handle "big picture" stuff. I usually don't post reviews like this, but if it can save someone from experiencing what we have experienced, its worth the time to post. read more

So you go in with your ID and the order number so a kid can drag the box to the entrance (didn't have a dolly) and you drive to the entrance to put whatever it is in your own vehicle. If I could give it a zero star I would. We ordered a fridge from Home Depot and it was slated (By Home Depot) for delivery on a Thursday from 12-4p. The night before my wife happens to check on the appt and they had changed it to 12-4am as in midnight to four?!!!! So she called. After 35 mins in an automated system the customer rep told her there was nothing he could do and she'd have to be there between the delivery time...didn't even understand that the delivery time was changed to midnight no matter how many times we tried to tell him. After calling back, and with another 25 mins in the queue trying to check on the status they gave us a new appt for Saturday between 3p-7p....he we are at 7:30pm and no one is here to deliver so again we call and again it's 20 mins in queue and again the first person tell us "Well they're closed there's nothing I can do. Sorry" so we called back and are told "We're sorry there's nothing we can do." Interesting that there is a NFL Game on at 8pm and some guys didn't show up. Coincidence? Methinks not. Home Depot will take your money and not deliver your order. They are the worst customer experience I've ever had and I'm including both the cable company and credit card company. You want to order something, go to Lowe's or literally anywhere else...he'll take your money and burn it in a trash barrel....it's in essence the same thing. They don't care about the people who buy things from them, they just want your $$. My advice, give it to someone else who cares about their customers enough to deliver on their 4th try... read more

Everyone needs to check their attitude at the door before checking for their shift. My father and I came to Home Depot in Danvers to exchange tiles. When we came in the woman- christine, directed us over to her desk to make the transaction. She kept barking over my father with an attitude when we understood the first time it's easier to return the tiles and purchase new ones. After picking new tiles we went to the bathroom sinks. This woman could not have been any more in a rush to brush us off while we were asking questions about their sinks. After my father and I chose to look online after she made that suggestion 5 times she just ran off to another section. Just rude. Then my dad and I picked out plants and went to the cashier-Diane, with the new tiles and plants. My dad requested if he could pay for the plants separate and she started to roll her eyes. She continued this as my dad helped lift the plants for her so she could scan the bar codes. He handed her $100 in cash and she was still huffing and puffing. Then she rang in my tiles and couldn't look any more annoyed. I openly said to my dad we will be going elsewhere after this. The woman stated, good luck everywhere else is closed today. I stated, no I mean for future purchases, I'd rather go anywhere that doesn't treat my dad and I like an inconvenience. She looked shocked and I said yes you and the other two woman today. Together my father and I spent close to $350. I do not blame the Home Depot for their workers behavior I blame those three women. Worst customer service. I ordered a shower surround online with my debit card that came completely damaged. Unfortunately, they do not sell these in store. My plumber was installing this weekend! So I went in to get another one that they sell in store. Nini at customer service and the supposed store manager Jen have no customer experience what so ever. They were RUDE and of no help what so ever. They made excuses and blamed the company for not being able to resolve my problem. If you pay with a debit card in store you have the option of getting cash back, but if you pay with a debit online you don't have that option. Home depot, train your employees to not treat loyal customers as thieves! These 2 treated me like I was a criminal and was trying to steal from them. All I wanted was a little customer service. 1) I purchased appliances and had them delivered. 2) Their third party delivery company JB Delivery Service, LLC caused damage to my house that I witnessed and the two delivery men showed the damage to my wife. 3) We took pictures and documented all of this on the invoice thinking that one of these companies would take care of this issue. 4) Neither Home Depot nor JB Delivery Service, LLC took any responsibility or did anything to solve this problem after we called Home Depot several times. Home Depot won't even take the time to follow up with us. 5) I would not recommend having anything delivered by Home Depot and/or their third party vendors because neither accepts any responsibility for their actions. 6) I will never again purchase items from this Home Depot that need to be delivered, and I highly recommend you do the same or you may be left with damage to your house as well that they will ignore. read more

Loaded 3 4x8 sheets of dry wall and 2 2x4s on my cart. Left cart and went 3 isles down to pick up one small item. When I returned less than 5 minutes later the employee was unloading my cart. I asked him why and he stated it was unattended. When I asked him to reload my cart he said no. I asked again thinking he was joking and he again refused I eventually was able to get a manager to reload my cart. He kept stating that he must have thought my cart was left behind. This is not the issue. The problem is he refused to reload it. Not easy for an old guy like me. read more

They don't know what they are doing, and they will make you pay in full, then when there is a problem, caused by their incompetence, they will nickel and dime the order, delay without any communication at all, and pass the buck from person to person. They make a good show of saying they will fix things, but the people in the store want no part of that. They want to save the billion dollar company a few bucks, at the expense of the consumer who was the victim of their incompetence. They are nice, but they use that niceness to be dishonest. Rocco in the paint department is truly one of the best. My husband took on a somewhat difficult project this summer of trying to match the exact color of a cabinet which had taken on a slight pinkish hue or patina over the years. Rocco helped adjust pickling stain with pigmentation and we were able to match the new cabinets to the existing cabinets perfectly. He has been patient and knowledgable every time we've visited the paint department and it's nice to count on his expertise for our painting needs. read more

I waited for help in appliances for 20 minutes straight. Despite repeated calls for assistance, no one came. When I asked for help a third time, the clerk said, "Just wait. Someone will come." Who has time for that? I stopped at the front desk on my way out and spoke with the supervisor. His unapologetic response was that they're a little short staffed. It was a Wednesday evening and the store had very few customers in it, but no one seemed to be assigned to appliances. Terrible. You go in looking for something and the first thing that you realize is that the labeled flags designating what each aisle is- they are ALL wrong. So then you need to ask for help which is never what you want to do at HD. The first guy had no idea (I was looking for a hitch for my car and went to the Automotive flag- he told me they didn't have automotive). The second guy took me right there and then neither of us could find any of the things that were supposed to be there (price tags indicated they were sometimes there..). He said sorry - of course. Since this is maybe an every time experience at this one I decided to speak to the very defensive manager who instead of saying anything about the mislabeling or lack of product tried to mansplain where things were. I bought 2 Doors, a storm door and inside door back in August. I paid half down and the rest on my Home Depot card which I am still paying because the doors were expensive, $3000 for the 2 doors installed. I am still waiting for these 2 doors. I have been constantly lied to about the whereabouts of them. I was told back in October that they were on the truck for delivery and again the same lie in November. I called the cooperate office and was told the doors were not even on order. When I reported this information to someone higher up at the store she told me this was not true information and the doors would be in the 3rd week of December. I called her and was unable to reach her and don't even know what I am going to do next about this but I've been a very regular customer for 15 years now constantly doing repairs to my home using this store and I can tell you I have spent my last penny ever in this store. I really like the sales associates . They are knowledgeable and thorough. The appliance selection is pretty good. I've bought 2 appliances from them in 9 months. HOWEVER , the delivery service used by this company is THE WORST. While Home Depot management tried to help, their delivery service wants to do nothing but "dump and run". Even though management tried to make up for the delivery service's shortcomings, I had to had someone else install and I'm going to have to hire someone to haul my old appliance away...they alleged, incorrectly , that my plumbing was faulty? Arrange to pick up yourself and have installed by someone other than Home Depot's service. The aggravation is not worth it. I have to amend my review. The Danvers location has excellent staffing, especially when it comes to customer service. I had several problems with my last delivery and Home Depot's manager and customer service representative couldn't have been more helpful. They are great. Buyer beware - do NOT redo your kitchen using Home Depot in Danvers. They have made multiple mistakes resulting in major delays in our project, and the cabinets aren't the best quality. I purchased Wall to Wall carpet with a pad for installation in my basement: this was a big area. The sales person in the store was terrific: she was very helpful in carpet selection (wear and appropriateness for a basement), and her advice did not steer me towards more expensive products. She was also helpful in pad selection. My complaint lies with the installation. Which is subcontracted. The install team arrived at 3:30 pm to begin the install; so while this was within the 12-4 timeframe I was given, it was a 4.5 hour installation job for a 3-man team. They did not complete the job until 8 pm. Which meant I had to cancel my evening plans to attend a wake for a friend-very upsetting to me. For whoever schedules the installations, they completely underestimated the time needed for the team during the day to complete their work. To BEGIN a full basement installation at 3:30 is unreasonable and also not fair to the 3-man team to expect them to work what had to be a 12-13 hour day! The measurement diagram had the walls properly marked and overall dimensions, however it did not have the counters marked on the diagram, which required cutting around; this was a point of contention and the installation team lead tried to talk me out of carpeting underneath the counters, which were open underneath and would have looked very shoddy. This was not a good way to start the installation, very upsetting. When I insisted that I had purchased carpet to cover the entire basement, and that was what I had paid for; their response was that Home Depot was a different company. I acknowledged that I understood Home Depot contracts with another company for install, but that I was ASSURED the install company was highly rated and that customers were extremely satisfied, and that was the service I expected. The work team did install the carpet as I expected and paid for, however, had I not been insistent they would have cut corners. It is unlikely that I would use Home Depot ever again for any home improvement project that requires an installation as they subcontract everything, likely to the lowest bidder. This is unfortunate as we just bought a new home that requires a lot of improvements. read more
